Alright guys and gals, don't get excited, DWCC isn't ready yet, but we do need to start thinking about who will be active and interested in helping me moderate the game. So the following positions are open: Battle Retainer What you will have to do: You will moderate battles, deal with turn results, make sure the battles stay active, and set up all the secret plans members of the battles send you. What Expirience is needed: You will need to know basic mathes, and be able to add up, also you will need to be active in the game, we will give you training on how to moderate battles, so if you have never done a battle before, don't worry. -----3 positions open----- Marketplace Retainer What you will have to do: You will sort out the marketplace purchases. You will be assisting our current Head of Marketplace, Jin. You will be sorting out troop purchases, ration purchases, an all that. What Expirience is needed: You will need to know basic mathes, as you will be having to add up the totals of what the troops purchases are, and deducting them from kingdoms treasuries. -----2 positions open----- Changer of the Year What you will have to do: Every Sunday, we will need you to post a summery of what happened during that "year" of DWCC, and start a new official thread, which will be the start of a new chapter of the game. This is only a small job, but it regulary gets forgotten, or is changed late. What Expirience is needed: Activity in the game, knowledge of what has been going on. -----1 position open----- Tax Collecter/Harvest Man What you will have to do: Collect the taxes for each kingdom every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, along with the harvest. You will be given basic training on how this is done. What Expirience is needed: You will need to know basic mathes (adding up), and know how to edit invisionfree threads. -----1 position open----- More positions may be opened, or closed at a later date, depending on how things go. For now, please mark your name down for one of the above positions. If you have any questions at all, feel free to post about it, or pm me. |

Do you mind if I take a battle retainer position? I have the qualities required and my maths is up to date. Of course I will need the additional training to teach me to be a mod, I've done it on many sites but DWCC is different to others. |

Believe me on this one: There is no limit to the amount of people we need. We need as many battle retainers (or battle mods, if you will) as we can get. If you think you're up to it, feel free to apply. In all likelihood, we can draft you. DWCC stands for Dynasty Warriors Conquer China. By the way, now I want to know what job you want to get when you become older, because I don't really see any parallels between real world jobs and this one. O_O |

If that's the case, you'd probably be good as a marketplace mod as well. Actually you don't really need to be that great at math to have a job for this game. Your computer should have a calculator program along with Microsoft Paint and other accessories. You can use this 'Windows Calculator' for all intents and purposes involving DWCC. |

Ah the type of job I want is anything to do with animation. Most likely the 3-D animation stuff, like games and 3-D films. By 3-D films I mean films that are like Final Fantasy, Toy Story, The Incredibles... you know, that sorta 3-D. I'd be more than happy to apply, I'll just need to ask my parents tomorrow hehe. hopefully they say yes  which they should, I mean come on, I'd be joining in with something thats fun and great to do! lol

Well, I don't think you need to ask your parents, but whatever floats your boat... Battle modding doesn't really have much to do with animation I'm afraid. The only thing I can think of that might be similar would be map-making. If you want to make maps and update them every turn in a battle then that might be good experience for what you wish to do. A good program for map-making is RPG maker if you wish to make sprite-based maps (the kind seen in RPGs like Pokemon and the very early Final Fantasy games). Of course, you can also make fantastic maps using Photoshop and other programs. Battle modding requires good judgment skills, narrating ability and good people skills. I'm not really sure I can say that anything else is needed for the job. Perhaps Goldensummit could do a better job of explaining the role. |

Sure, well I'll try to explain the role as well as I can. In a typical DWCC or SWCJ (Dynasty Warriors Conquer China and Samurai Warriors Conquer Japan, respectively) game, battles work like this: Step 1: Each person involved in the battle makes one post where they state whatever overt (direct) actions they want to do. Overt actions include moving your troops, attacking an enemy directly, using a skill or describing a formation you are using. Step 2: Each person involved in a battle sends a private message to a battle mod stating whatever secret plans they have. If they have no secret plans, they won't send a PM. Step 3: After 24 hours (regardless of whether everybody in the battle has made their turn), the battle mod states what happened in the battle. If you've ever played the game 'Mafia,' and been the narrator, you probably have enough storytelling experience for this. If not, it doesn't really matter. The battle mod basically just gives a description of what happened and then describes how many troops died on each side of the fight. There are other complex factors in battles such as 'rations' to consider, but these will be explained to anybody who decides to be a battle mod. Battle mods can also, as I said, make and update maps for each turn of a battle. However, this is somewhat optional. Although the job sounds simple, battle modding is actually fairly complex. Perhaps the hardest thing to deal with is the fact that battles are not automated. People will quite frequently mess up the whole battle system by trying to make multiple turns, updating what they want to do before a turn ends or even posting OOC (out of character) comments in a battle thread. The job of a battle mod is to delete OOC (out of character) posts, keep battles organized and make sure to actively update the battle [hopefully] every day. |

I think you're a shoe-in Mingchan. You have a great deal of experience. I'll be sure to put in a good word for all [or at least most] of you anyways though. I believe in the doctrine of 'the more the merrier' for rp games like this. They always need a lot of people running them. |

i'll probably take the job. its still a little bit blury to understand but i guess the more you join in the more you'll understand. what i dont really understand is who are the people in the battle? are they the characters in the game or..?? i dont really understand that part. the rest of what you said was understandable. also, what programs would i use? or is this all discussed and made in the forum. sorry if im bugging you with all these questions, its just that im new to this sorta stuff. |

Correct. The people in the battle are the characters in the game. Battles usually work like this: 1.) Somebody attacks somebody else. 2.) The attacker sends a private message to a battle mod stating how many troops they are bringing. 3.) The kingdom being attacked decides who they will have defending and sends a private message with this information to the battle mod. The battle then begins with whatever characters are participating. You wouldn't have to use any programs [unless you want to make and update maps for the battle]. you could just post the turn results for each turn of a battle in the battle threads on the forum. It's all writing, more or less. You're not bugging me at all by the way. I'm happy to answer any questions.

I just want to get a few things straight here. All previous mods that were accepted (before this thread was made), will be instated straight away if they still want the position (I.e, Mingchan, Jin, WillxDiana, Slick, GYA and SRS, some others probably to, but this is off the top of my head). This thread is mainly to see who is interested, and then we have time to explain how things work, who will be active, and all that. We won't be hireing everyone, contray to belief, there can be problems having too many staff, hence why I posted the position slots, but those are just a draft, as I stated in the first post, more positions will be opened, or closed in the near future, depending how things go. |
