For dynasty warriors my top five are Guan Yu Lu Bu Cao Cao Zhou Tai Wei Yan Guan Yu is my favorite not only because of his abilities in the game but I love his story and place in the swore oath of the three brothers Havent tried samurai warriors too much but tadakatsu is amazing |

These characters aren't listed in any particular order. DW 1) Zhang He - he's PRETTY, graceful, makes me laugh. Nice moveset, too. 2) Sun Ce - he's funny and fun to use. Helps that he's hot and is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal.  3) Cao Pi - he's just awesome. And sexy. 4) Yue Ying - she's intelligent, and fights with a daggone SCYTHE. Win...! 5) Zhou Yu - he's hot, intelligent, and has a pretty cool moveset. (and Sun Quan and Xiahou Dun and Ma Chao and Zhuge Liang) SW 1) Mitsuhide - Love his moveset, his hotness, and his voice. 2) Ranmaru - Moveset is just pure win. Personality and interactions with other characters are gold. 3) Ginchiyo - a TRUE female warrior. Has an affinity for LIGHTNING. Moveset is sweet, and personality ain't half-bad, either 4) Mitsunari - his personality and moveset (WO style ) rule. Plus, he's hot.5) Sakon - a man's man. He's got brains, brawn, a great moveset, a nice voice, AND nice hair! *wins forever* (and Keiji and Kojiro and Nene and Kanetsugu and Nagamasa)

1. Diao Chan- Worse than Lu Bu to me, honestly. I panic every time I see her in Battle, she Thrashes me! XO 2. Da Qiao- She has very good moveset, speed and flexibility, which makes her real tough. 3. Kunoichi- Her mega fast speed makes her tough. <3 4. Oichi- She is also a Thrasher in Samurai Warriors. 5. You know, I really haven't feared Diao Chan since DW3. MY GOD was she a beast! I remember my brother and I died LOADS of times by her hand on our first attempt of Hu Lao Gate. Lu Bu is easy enough to avoid... but Diao Chan?? Hellz no, she was on your tail like white on rice! (pun intended!). Basically, you had to kill if if you wanted a piece of Dong Zhou. Soooo yeah, she didn't make it easy. I'm pretty sure my brother and I swore our foul little mouths off during the occasion, haha. |

DW: 1. Guan Yu - He was the very first Warriors character I ever played as, back in DW4. I can remember trying to pick between him and Zhang Fei, since my friend had already chosen Liu Bei. I went with Guan Yu, and it's all history from there. Simply put, he's incredible. His stoicism and fortitude are great character traits, his bond with Liu Bei and Zhang Fei is awesome, and he tears through the enemy. Plus, it took all three kingdoms to bring him down (including the Shu generals who betrayed him). 2. Zhang Liao - Similar to Guan Yu in many respects. More ferocious attitude, and even more devil-may-care. His defense of He Fei is inspiring, and he never shows signs of fear or worry. 3. Huang Gai - So underappreciated amongst the men of Wu, but he's top notch in my books. Chi Bi is his crowning glory, and serving three generations of Sun rulers is quite impressive too. Plus, his voice from DW4 just plain rocked. "I will crush you!" still rings a bell even today. 4. Lu Bu - I love his attitude. His fearlessness and warrior's ambition make him stand out amongst the others in the game. His condescending manner never gets old either, and I love how he still has room in his heart for Diao Chan. 5. Xu Huang - Master of war and strategy. Perhaps the most well-rounded officer in the entire Three Kingdoms. Plus, I'm a big fan of great axes, and Xu Huang's is the greatest. SW: 1. Mitsuhide Akechi - My first SW character. His fighting style is brilliant: the perfect mix of power, range, speed, and defense. His personality and story are even better. The loyal retainer who doubts his own path, and sees himself advancing the agenda of a fiend, who turns his blade against his lord and unleashes his own ambition. 2. Tadakatsu Honda - The ultimate warrior. Wading into battle and walking out practically unscathed. The greatest general of my favorite clan. 3. Yoshihiro Shimazu - As devil-may-care as Zhang Liao, if not moreso. I love his embodiment of chaos, chance, and risk-taking. Chesto! 4. Motochika Chosokabe - His passion for his forces was a breath of fresh air in Shikoku. His respect for his enemies and unwillingness to blindly see things as black and white like his fellows earned my respect quickly. 5. Kenshin Uesugi - The God of War. DW Xiahou Dun- First character I ever picked on a DW game, Cool moveset, badass personality, his eye loss scene is total coolness Xu Huang-The axe is one of my favorite weapons. I'm amused by his talk of how mighty he is...I like his voice acting. Cao Pi- "Get out of my sight" was pure ownage every time he said it... Zhao yun- His "I Challenge you" Musou attack line is epic..His musou attack is awesome and he has a cool personality...Good moveset too Zhou Tai- Before SW came out he was the closest thing to a samurai..His black mask and cape alternate costume is awesome Edited by Canard Pars, Oct 15 2009, 04:23 PM.

well here goes my list for both dw & sw DW:- 1)Ma Chao -due to his armour looks pimping -mainly the gold armour version 2)Zhang Liao - as he has some of the best charge attacks and one of the best musou attacks ever 3)Sun Ce :- may fave one on one general killer and just because tonfa's kick butt 4)Ling Tong :- best charge 3 attack in the whole game except maybe guan ping plus very handy for clearing nearly every one around 5) Jiang wei -has to be my favourite general usage character SW :- 1)Motochika :- due to very good charges and best looking as well 2)Nagamasa :- best all rounder in the game -soz yukimura lovers he is just better 3)Kojiro : - just love his psychotic ways and really great musou attack 4)Nobunaga : - he is the demon king and in sw2 his eng voice actor makes him sound really evil lol 5)Shingen (sw2 version) :-i just love his phrases in sw2 when talking to Kenshin (kenshin your like a bad case of scabies or something) quality humour lines

Dynasty Warriors 1. Cao Ren - "Shut up and get the job done" badass with a strong sensitive streak and genuine concern for the little guy. His contemplative subtleties make him truly unique. Ren's historical excellence - including his reputation for protecting his men - brings him up even further in my eyes. 2. Lu Meng - Wise, down to earth leader who finds a way to relate to anyone. Historically, he grew from a hot-tempered runaway into one of Wu's best generals with book smarts to rival many scholars. 3. Xiahou Yuan - Big ol' in your face goof with brains and competence underneath the wisecracks. He does make some remarks that deserve a slapping, but those add to his comedic value. His real life counterpart was one of Wei's most able commanders. (And, like Cao Ren, screwed out of Tiger consideration for being related to Cao Cao. Bummer.) 4. Huang Zhong - Get off my lawn, you damn kids! I've always had a soft spot for the old guy who refuses to retire. I want to be that awesome when I'm his age. 5. Zhang He - My first favorite in DW3, picked because he looked like Vega, and far too much fun to cosplay (even though the wig is painful as all hell). As someone who performed in musical theater, I totally understand his desire to be the star of the show. Samurai Warriors In no particular order, mostly based on Warriors Orochi. I've played some SW2, but I don't have extensive experience with the SW series. 1. Ginchiyo Tachibana - Tough and fiery, but not without compassion and concern. I want to learn more about her historical counterpart, who actually did lead her clan for some years. 2. Katsuie Shibata - Can we tell that I have a soft spot for gruff 'n scruff gentlemen? His move set rocks, too. 3. Keiji Maeda - He's a wild man who goes through life with a big grin on his face and an even bigger beat stick. Keiji epitomizes the sort of loud, obnoxious goofball that I actually like. 4. Goemon Ishikawa - I know little about the master thief he was based on, but his gameverse incarnation sure is a riot. Get some Agility on his weapon, and it's super happy fun time. Butt bounces! Launched rockets! Mace pirouettes! 5. Magoichi Saika - Some find him sleazy. I think he's hilarious. Magoichi almost comes off as a parody of the Suave Hero type, but he's not a total joke. I also find him fun to play as. |

I think I need to update my list haha. Dynasty Warriors 1. Sun Quan For obvious reason, he has been my all time favorite character since sporting the Hugh Hefner robe and scruffy beard. His DW6 redesign made me fall in love with him even more. I just hope they do more with his storyline in the future then what it had been so far. <3 2. Papa Jian I took more of a liking to his DW6 style when he isn't sporting the helmet but I had always liked him previous since DW4 with that lovely Steven Jay Blum voice he had, rawr. :3 3. Zhang He I always had a soft spot for Zhang He. I personally love his sense of style and grace he brings to the field. 4. Liu Bei I tend to lean towards Liu Bei in DW5 since he has the stache and that amazing voice that fit his personality better. 5. Dong Zhuo I have always been supportive of Mr. Potato Head. Despite his annoying officer defeated quote and badly design in DW6, he is still one my favorites plus Richard Epcar delivered his voice perfectly. Samurai Warriors 1. Chōsokabe Motochika He was the first character I used in SW2: XL and since then he became my favorite from the series. I love his hairstyle and rocking on that shamisen. 2. Magoichi Saika I just love his charming personality and his failure at capturing women's hearts lol. 3. Tachibana Ginchiyo My favorite female next to Okuni but with a better moveset. I enjoy using her especially in Warriors Orochi with her R1 for spamfest! 4. Nobunaga Oda I just like the design of his character and moveset for some odd reason plus he has a smexy voice as well. :3 5. Okuni My other favorite female with her flirtatious personality which I have some of myself. I don't like her moveset at all except in Warriors Orochi with the R1 which makes her a bit more useful lol. |

My DW list is easy for me as I don't actually find too many of the characters to be very unique, but my SW list was much more difficult. Dynasty Warriors 1. Zhou Yu. - Refined, humble, loyal. 2. Cao Pi. - Ambition. 3. Xiahou Dun. - Loyalty and his demeanor. 4. Lu Bu. - Fear and respect. At least in the earlier games... 5. Ma Chao. - JUSTICE! Samurai Warriors 1. Nagamasa Azai. - Love, Faith, and Honor! 2. Musashi Miyamoto, - What can I say, he's invincible. 3. Kenshin Uesugi. - He's the God of War! 4. Kanetsugu Naoe. - JUSTICE! 5. Keiji Maeda. - Feared in SW1, fun to play in SW2, even though his voice acting was awful. I think had Masamune(went from a wicked ambitious and fearless kid to a cowardly mutt/whiny punk, though I did like his post-Osaka stages in his story mode) and Mitsuhide(went from cool Western armor to a dress) not been completely ruined for me in SW2, they would have made their way onto my SW list. |

Dynasty Warriors: 1. Zhang Liao - Who wouldn't love a person who has a weapon that is perfect for when you're in a tight situation. 2. Zhang Fei - Same reasons for Zhang Liao though I love how he seems to be the one mentioned most as the strongest yet everyone knows of Guan Yu. 3. Lu Bu - The only warrior that ever seems to kill you when you're playing the campaign unless you have a strong character. 4. Taishi Ci - I love him because of his armor, and especially since in DW6 he gets a trident instead of the usual hammers. 5. Ma Chao - The greatest character to grace DW, in DW4 he could become invincible when mounted. Edited by lost.memory, Nov 5 2009, 09:23 PM.
