What's the one song called from that really old Excalibur movie. The really dramatic one that plays when Arthur's fighting Mordred and stuff? I think they should use that for Bladestorm.

To be honest, I'm kinda disappointed... I mean, the music by itself is really well composed and sounds great, but I always expect something a little different from Koei soundtracks.

For example, Dynasty Warriors has its own 'dynasty rock' kinda genre, Samurai Warriors has its own 'feudal trance' kinda genre... so I was kinda hoping that Bladestorm would have an awesome old European flavour combined with a modernised genre too, or something along those lines.

Instead, it's just kinda generic fantasy game music, the kind of stuff you hear all over other fantasy games like Oblivion... it's good music, just not a unique interesting genre I hoped for!

The musics are excellent even if it looks like a little of others musics. :)

The style is good for this game, I think.

BladeStorm music remind me of The Lord of the Ring music, don't know why...
Maybe medieval atmosphere ^^

Hmm Bladestorm sounds very different and outstanding. You really need to listen to it when you played the game, all those 12 tracks there are not enough (as they're the tracks for the opening, tavern, history and etc), there are more hot music that fixed battle and it's very awesome.

We'll have the interview with the composer in this few days so check the site update.

I expected Shakti to have her own track! Something Arabic or Indian! At least something like Tunak Tunak Tun! Not...

But overall, I am impressed with the music.

Carmina Burana- O Fortuna. It's a great song, but it's becoming too over-exposed. I say leave it out. If you want a dramatic classic, I say Deus Irae from Mozart's Requiem Mass.

As for the soundtrack, I like it. A bit short, but it certainly has a nice feel. Can't wait for the entire thing!

Its surprising really, its classical orchestral european or western music but no rock or techno like dw/sw do,i thought wed have the kind of mix loei usualy does between the two.The fact that they havent kind of makes it come across more serious?

lol Ma Cheng you're not for the English XD

But it's true all the tracks are super ^^
Battle themes (Main Battle Begins, Demo Battle, An Important Battle, the two Fighting for...) are my favorites with Spoils of War, Hundred Years War, Joan of Arc and Daytime Tavern. This one Daytime Tavern remind me my younger bro's joke about medieval tavern ^^

(btw, thanks for the Jamie Christopher interview, it's right that the Black Prince, Joan of Arc themes and Spoils of War are emotionals)

Its a nice change from hearing the DW/SW music, but that doesn't mean I prefer it over the two. There's about 5-6 tracks that I love.

I would've maybe rated it an 8 in my review but the voice acting let it down. Some of the lines and accents sound rushed, and many words are overused, etc.

Well DW/SW game music composer are Japanese like MASA, Masato Koike but BLADESTORM music composer is English who worked on Capcom's Onimusha 3 soundtrack, Jamie Christopherson. So it's different.

I concur with what the people said about the music being, true, classical and nive (very nice. And epic. Oh yeah.) but maybe a little too classical.

The good point is: it suits in my opinion better with cool mass actions such as a cavalery charge. The bad point is, the part of originality will be missed. But we'll send it postcards for sure.

In fact... Now that I think of it, comparing the music only with those of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors may be a bad idea. Because from what I saw, it looks a lot like a sort of mix between Kessen and Dynasty Warriors, in europe, and on steroids. So, if we consider the Kessen part of the game, and hear the musics of Kessen II (didn't heard the ones of Kessen I or III so couldn't tell about them) then these of bladestorm, it doesn't seem that different.

But, it is true that, since it is a sort of an experimental mix, mixing as well classical musics like the ones we have with more modernish mixes, like the ones you can hear in Granado Espada for instance (who revolves musicaly around spanish / renaissance tunes, and trance) would maybe fit better.

Maybe next time.
I find the lack of signature deeply inesthetic.

Evil English music!

Anyone wonder why the "King of England" and "The Black Prince" soundtracks sound far darker than the "King of France" and "Joan of Arc" soundtracks?

Also compare "Glory to the Black Prince" to "Hope for Joan of Arc".

I would be interested in knowing why Jamie Christopherson made this choice.

Oh, and the fact that you ALWAYS hear the "King of England" soundtrack early on in the game has made me sick of it. I like "King of France" and "Joan of Arc" much more because they play a lot rarer, when the characters are actually ON the battlefield.

Wow, really different than from what I've been hearing these past Koei games.

DW's is Rock, SW's is techno, WO's is rocketechno, Bladestorm's is orchestral.

I haven't played the game, but the soundtrack sounds awesome. A lot fo the tracks really have that epic vibe, especially the Joan of Arc and King of France themes.
