Firstly, welcome to KW! If you wish, you can read a review I wrote on the game, here. Although briefly the game is set in the Sengoku Era, where the main character is a young Oda Nobunaga, you play as his story throughout the game as he ages and the Oda army becomes a more dominant force in Japan. Kessen III has more action gameplay then the prior titles. Essentially you could call it an action/strategy clash. You have managerial control over your army, such as purchasing new equipment, horses etc, but also in battles while you can command units to where you wish it's also about how you control them on your own, in an action style is what really determines how successful you will be. Basically, if you have an interest in the Sengoku Era, or want to play a game that combines both action and strategy elements you should like it.

Thank you for your warm welcome. I do suppose Sengoku Era, quite frankly speaking, I do not know as much as RTK Era. And, thanks for the link. I'll be sure to read it some time. So Kessen III is about Sengoku. Then I am going to assume the one I had is Kessen II since, it involves Liu Bei and Cao Cao? I am a big fan of RTK though, strangely enough, only this game ((Kessen)) kept me further away lmao. Action/ strategy clash? Hmm, an interesting one. I do suppose I will be taking a look for the gameplay vids in the near future. Thank you so much for sharing, really appreciate it. |

I believe once you beat the game, you keep all your items on the same save, but if you start a new game, your generals will be back to LVL. 1. Have fun playing Kessen III! |

well at least knowing that something of my effort is saved is good enough. I remember kessen II was more of a oldschool style game as in when you finished it and started a new one you had to do everything over again or take other paths (i loved ending up with siege tools i didnt have on other playtroughs, or army units for the same, also i always loved Cai wengi for some reason, mustve been her rebelous nature or something, she always looked badass to me. I remember doing a playtrough on the hardest difficulty on Liubei side and doing all stages 100% perfect lol (that means not losing a single unit and as fast as possible, and believe me that is damn hard on the boat stages definatly chi bi but i did it ^^ my biggest Kessen achievement) just cause i wondered if that maybe unlocked Sunquan side but that wasnt possible sadly )Now KessenIII does look graphically old but thats only cause im used to PS3 now but for gameplay sake its a great game already, i dont mind the empty backgrounds at all, all the customising is definatly a plus and the characters are all original again just like in KessenII, finally no more clone looking officers ^^ makes me appreciate retainers alot more, also read more in the information section about them, its fun even though it feels like school sometiems (wich is like 10 years ago lol, not that i ever had japanese history) I dont mind that all officers are level 1 again, but i always hate losing collections in games so this is perfect. Moar review> SOUND> The japanese voiceoption is FANTASTIC, when the intro began i was like "oh no not this..." with all the cheesy english comments done by japanese people. But in the options i found japanese option so i was very happy, now i can learn more japanese again and i remembered a word btw Hajimé wich is begin. (well my karate teacher always said that too lol) MUSIC> not my favorite music cause i had it on my mp3 player a while before i ever had this game so i know all the music allready, its strange to hear it in battles while i used to listen to them to relax lol ohwell. GAME> Seeing your whole division attack is cool especially when they shout out in japanese while they do it, seeing horses jump into the enemie is really cool aswell lol. I mostly get A ranks and thats good enough for me, i also have a Tokugawa ieyasu helm now but it looks silly on all my officers, i also have Maeda keiji and inahime (yea i know hime means princess! good huh :> <--proud faece. ) they look extra silly with it on their head ;D MOVIE/STORY> till now i really like it, i was a bit confused over the opening movie it looked more like a ending (honnoji) nobunaga was great though and then fooom! Oda nobunaga being young, man he looks good without a beard/moustache. I hope Koei will make him young also in SW3. I am learning to apreciate Oda nobunaga kun (yes, his young version so why i use kun, also learning that) now. I SHOULD CHANGE INTO A JAPANESE PERSON... god i wish i lived in japan with so much nice games (and the tokyo gameshow ;< ) Im being drawn into the story anyway and 'it feels good man' ![]() Ok, enough i go swimming in a minute. Thanks manji, you are super

Yesh another Kessen III player.
When you finish the game you'll be able to save your game and resume on a harder difficulty. When you do you keep some of your leveled up skills, and you can also unlock some extra characters, equipment etc to have a little extra the next time around. I noticed you also mentioned Keiji & Ina, meaning you done the SW1 transfer, they certainly help out a bit too. Also, if you can get S ranks it does help you out a bit with some extra handy equipment, but you probably don't want to worry about that too much for a first play, just try get used to things and enjoy the story; it's a lovely different perspective on the Sengoku Era. |

So that means that i do keep all collected items in the next game right? with all their stats and uses? Cause thats whats important to me or it would feel like a waste of effort to get see. |

Everything equipped to your officers carries over. Otherwise, everything is cataloged in the Scrolls. |

I can confirm that it's correct. You'll unlock Oichi at the beginning of chapter 8 on Expert difficulty. And if you have Samurai Warriors and Samurai Warriors Xtreme Legend, just load the save data then you should be able to unlock Keiji and Ina. They look exactly the same as their counterparts in SW games except without their weapons. |

I think I'll play through this game one more time on the expert difficulty, with cheats though. Thanks to AR Max, I'll be able to test out some things like Oichi appearing in chapter 8 and other things. |

And by unlocking Oichi I believe that will allow you get get the 100% completion rate as she should have unique equipment too. Providing you picked up many items on the battlefield already and use the sneaky shop tactic of dual file saving. I wouldn't mind replaying it myself eventually to see if that will happen, although it won't be any time soon. Not enough game time of late and other games I want to finish first... |

Just that, repeat that process until you buy every different item for that particular chapter, do that and you'll fill your catalogue much quicker. If you are one that likes to get 100% completion where possible of course, otherwise ignore it. |
