Kessen II worth buying?; After I've played Kessen III already.

Is That All You Got? Posts: 2,672 Group: Junior Moderators Member #8,262 Joined: July 2, 2007 Gender Male	I have played Kessen 3 and quite enjoy the game. Now I'm thinking of getting the 2nd one? I know Kessen 3 is probably better than kessen 2 because it come out later. But I want to play game like Kessen III but based on ROTK :). Does it worth buying? Any comments on how the two are different.

Many believe this is the better style for Kessen to use, I find it different but good in it's own way. Anyway, the voiceovers and SFX in the game unfortunately pale to Kessen III, and the story has a high fictional content. That aside it's a very enjoyable strategy game which you play as Liu Bei's army initially, and later Cao Cao's once you complete the game. And nope, you can't play as Wu, in fact they aren't even in the game all that much. Overall, I think Kessen III is the best Kessen game, but I still enjoyed Kessen II and finished it a couple of times with both armies. Perhaps considering renting it, unless you find a copy which is rather affordable.

Lord of KOEI Warriors: Conquerors Posts: 2,786 Group: Members Member #2,509 Joined: July 7, 2006 Gender Male	I personally prefered Kessen II's style of story and gameplay best, I just found Kessen II hilarious. But when you play as Wei, it is far to easy, you over-power Liu Bei like hell

GoldenSummit, the gameplay - particulary the strategy element of Kessen II is amazing; probably even better then Kessen III. To me though that's the only part of the game which is superior. Although I guess if you prefer the characters from the Three Kingdoms Era that's another other area where it excel on Kessen III.

Indeed, I'm more partial to Three Kingdoms then Sengoku.

That's part of the game is cool, kind of like RPG style. Unfortunately not, Kessen III could almost be considered a remake of the series. Many things changed from Kessen II to III - the items being one of them. Kessen II is more of an RTS, while Kessen III is more of an Action-RPG. In Kessen II it's all about sending units to the right spots and placing your magics/skills in the right spots to help turn the tide of a battle. Kessen II tends to run at a slower pace then III as well; for better or worse thats up to you really.

I personally own all three of the Kessen titles, but do you mean where you can buy them or something? I'd recommend them to anyone who is a fan of the Warriors games and history, providing they can get them for a good price of course.

I'm in Australia as well, I've at times seen a Kessen game or two in the second hand sections of EB stores; or any store that sells 2nd hand games - I'd check all those in your local and nearby area first. If that is unsuccessful there is always eBay if you are still keen to try and find one.

But Kessen one is not. Its shite and a waste of money. i brought that on ebay as well
