Well, if I didn't suck giant chain balls at using his moveset, maybe I'd like him more. I dunno... maybe because I haven't leveled him up much that I haven't seen the potential to that weapon. That, and the ending of his musou chain is full off deadly farts. (Sorry, but it looks like he's farting... especially with the sound he makes in the Japanese version XD). I do like his American voice and can respect his loyalty to Cao Cao, though. Just wish there were other things about this guy that I liked, that's all. |

I've heard the monkey is an odd one, but the wife, she's a whole new level of crazy.

Uh, i havent used him in DW6 at all...so what can i actually expect from him, moveset wise. I thought this would be a good place to ask since this is HIS thread. |

Well, as you can well imagine, it's slow, but can be EXTREMELY powerful once you level him up a little. Range-wise is average (a little further than his original MS I'd guess) and if you can keep his combo going uninterrupted, he can be quite powerful. At least that's what my brother says as he's the one that finished his story. I was too busy trying to figure out how to HIT THINGS WITH A MASSIVE BALL THAT CAN'T MISS ANYTHING BUT DOES EVERY TIME to take in anything else. And his farts of doom at the end of his musou chain. If you take the time and patience to learn his tricks, he's nice. Just too slow for my taste, but what do you expect with a massive BALL AND CHAIN. |

He's good for charging crowds thanks to his T chain focusing specifically on it. But his hold T is absolutely useless and it's better to just his T throw which beats his S throw on so many leagues. |

Everyone says his charge chain is unstoppable, and it's true, and it can be attributed to his running... on lower levels, his rugby style tackle is hard to use, but lvl. 50 and on infinite renbu, I found that it's even harder to interrupt than Zhao Yun's charge chain (at leas,t after having used both those characters on Master scenarios. |

Yeah, if you take the time and effort to level him up and learn his many tricks, he's really not that terrible (my cousin leveled him up and displayed how much he apparently owns as Dian Wei and I'm impressed, considering I barely touched him in my copy.) Doesn't completely redeem him as a whole in my eyes, but it sure does help... a little. Just keep his English VA and I'll tolerate him well enough. XD |

Dian Wei is one of those character that you won't enjoy using until he is actually leveled up pretty good. I learned that after playing him in DW5 and DW6. Despite the fact he is a very slow moving character, you shouldn't let that discourage from using him. With DW5, once you have his 4th weapon most of his attacks come in handy. His C5 is the most useful charge attack in the game because it breaks through enemy blockage. You can say the same thing when you use him in Warriors Orochi with his R1 special. With DW6, unleashing his tri-charge attack which people have mentioned is unstoppable and I agree as well to that statement. I found it pretty useful to use in large crowds especially in Rampage for challenge mode. I am able to kill of officers quickier with that then anything else. Overall, I find Dian Wei to be a great character to use in battle. |
