Gundam 00 Movie, sometime in 2010. Awesome. That..thing with Jupiter though..I wonder what happened there, when they found those scientists dead with the GN Drives? Focusing on the actual episode though, I LOVED how 0 Gundam fought Exia. When they said "R2" I was thinking "Another new model?!?" but then..well, yeah. So did Ribbons die? It never really showed his death, just a MS explosion. I liked seeing a more human side to him (aka, him being scared..surprised..and excited) and LOL'd at Patrick & Kati. I had a feeling it was a wedding as soon as I saw him in white. Andrei is a cool guy finally, and I'm surprised Billy didn't join CB to be with Sumeragi.

The 00 Vs. Guncannon Ribbons Canon was really great, wasn't expecting a new twin drive Gundam to appear though. The best part of the ep for me though was definatly the wedding, 'the lucky Colasour' has to be my new favourite pilot.

This last episdoe was truely great, lots of happy endings (still not sure about Tieria though, I hope he's not gone for good.).

Tieria now pretty much IS Veda. He's alive via a computer system basically.

The ending didn't quite live up to my expectations, but it was still pretty good. I laughed that there was like.... 8 minutes of epilogue on this one >_> The end of the Exia vs. O Gundam fight felt kind of rushed to me. I was definitely expecting something definitive for the main villain, so like Kratos, I somehow don't think he's dead...

I do wish they would have explained where Ribbons got his twin drive system from though. It begs the question of why he was trying to steal 00 so badly. I guess for the original GN drives like shown in this episode, but when actually stealing it they really made it seem like he wanted the Twin Drive technology.

Overall, an enjoyable series. Hopefully this movie will come in early 2010, I'd like to see this series concluded properly so it can be included in GM3. =/

My Pros
It really enjoyed all the surprises to me in the end . How Lyle uses the one second of Trans Am he had left & How Exia and 0 Gundam battle it out in round 2 after their main suits get banged up.

My Cons
The return of the Super soldier was of no surprise to me, the instant kill against Hilling though was .. i expected a maybe a minute more of Hilling getting owned but it went straight to his death.
I wish i saw Ribbons actual dead body, we just have to assume, i hate it cause alot of people are now questioning his death .
No real air time for the Gundam lover stalker Graham, i had hoped the masked man of these series had much more of a role in season 2

Overall

I also didnt like the short battles, but at least they werent all the same scenes like Seed appeared to me, everything was so exciting , even if it was for just a minute or 2

There isnt any closure to this, but i suppose the upcoming movie will surely make up for it

By far my favorite Gundam series to date, Seed coming at a close Second, third .... not sure n.n;

ALIENZ!! Possibly what killed the researchers and prevented them from making more GN Drives...and what the roles of each character would be.

Tieria- Taking on the role of Veda, provides intellectual support as well as maintaining communications with CB via the network Veda set up

Setsuna- Perhaps a 00/Raiser/2.0...

Allelujah- A V3 of the Kyrios type, and maybe even an enemy with the Hallelujah side possibly going out of control..or just a temporary antagonistic role, a la
Wufei in EW.

Lyle- Casual/Friendly guy who keeps the group together...may not be a role for him anymore, because everyone seems to have gotten along.

Ptolemy Crew- Discovers this "new threat" and the Earth group may be skeptical about this new threat, and Ptolemy having the role of Londo Bell in CCA (preventing this crisis with little/no help from their superiors)

Graham- Probably one of the most important/wanted roles, what would he do? Have another epic duel against Setsuna, only to give in and join them in the end against a new greater enemy?

Colasaur/Mannequin- Comic Relief, or more?

Andrei- He seems to have matured at last, respecting both his parents and their choices. He may be a temporary antagonist as well.

In my opinion Ribbons doesn't have even half of the villainous aura that Char had, so a Ribbons' Counterattack film wouldn't work at all. At least Char went out and actually did things in MSG and Zeta, all Ribbons has done when he's been given a bigger role is sit in a room for 25 episodes, proclaim how Innovators are the future, and then watch them all get killed.

After having just watched 00 Gundam from start to finish over the weekend, I really do wish I knew where this sentiment of Ribbons as a non-active villain comes from, especially since it seems to be the shared opinion of almost the entire Western fanbase.

Let's list off the things he did when he wasn't 'sitting':

- Helped Alejandro Corner seize Veda and kill Aeolia Schenberg, starting the "distortions of the world" that would stretch from the latter half of the first season all the way to the end of the second. A role he performed while standing, most of the time.
- Confronts two of the protagonists personally in order to assert the feeling of oppressiveness that his stranglehold of caged unity has over the Earth.
- Initially solos Setsuna, Allelujah, and the Ptolemy. In this situation, he 1) Makes a mockery of Hal+Allelujah within five seconds of his attempts to attack Ribbons; 2) Arguably defeats 00 Raiser with the Ribbons [Gun]Cannon; 3) Nearly kills Setsuna in the 0 Gundam, a suit that's generations older.

What was he doing when he WAS just sitting around?

- Clearly conducts the affairs of the upper echelons of the Federation and A-Laws.
- Takes control of Anew Returner, nearly killing Lockon Stratos.
- Arguably takes control of Louise Halevy twice in order to mop up the mess that was Nena Trinity and deter 00 Raiser.

Ribbons did his part in being active as a villain, and in my opinion performed well in feeling like a menace throughout the entire Season 2, if not from the time Alejandro revealed himself to be a villain... especially if you put this in the context of:

1) So many characters needing screentime for their unresolved plots
2) The other Innovators being nothing more than disposable extensions for Ribbons, who has a God-complex

If Nena and Graham hadn't been incompetent (in a certain sense of the word) during the Veda location retrieval situation, he likely would have won.

Even if I happened to include that sentence about Char in the quoted part of your post, I had no real intent to compare Ribbons directly to him. After all, he's Char; there is no distortion of the world that compares to him. More than that, why does this have to be treated as a "silly argument"? Why can't we have a "spirited debate"? Especially as this isn't GameFAQs or Gaia or anything. Well, even if you think you're offending my feelings, I certainly won't feel offended.

Now then...

Ribbons was a classic political manipulator through and through. You'd have to fault Alejandro, Scirocco, Treize, and other villains I'm not thinking of for either not doing very much or spending the majority of their time sitting/standing around and talking, even though everyone knows this isn't true. As I said before, Ribbons was one character in an ensemble cast that was continuing their own storylines into the first season. He only had so much time in those 1,250 minutes to show how evil he was.

Wasn't sending Yaz-- er, Ali to paint Azadistan in that lunatic's favorite color evil? Wasn't nearly tearing Lockon's heart asunder by forcing Anew's death evil? Wasn't misleading and drugging an innocent girl like Louise evil? Hell, since you mentioned Char, that last one is a throwback to how Char manipulated Lalah and Quess.

They keyword is, the man was in charge and we (or at least I, certainly) felt that the moment we saw him on that infamous couch at the end of Season 1. He had the Earth Federation, the Innovators (and who knows how many clones), Ali, Graham, Louise, Nena, and Wang under his thumb. What was the point of doing a lot of things himself, especially since he presumed himself to be a god? If anything, I would fault Ribbons for not being unique enough from the current standard of modern anime, even though I enjoyed watching him.

As for the other villains I'm going to remember? Sure, I'll remember them since they were fun to watch as well, but really...
Ali? AKA, "My first suit is the HAMBRABI! DERU YO"?
Graham? AKA, "My character has deteriorated into samurai-babbling madness! ASURA!"?
Andrei?
Nena? AKA, "I'm a textbook whackjob with no redeeming qualities whatsoever"?
Wang? AKA, "I have no particular motives because I'm Chaotic Neutral~"?
The Innovades?
Billy? AKA, "Can't sex Sumeragi up anymore so I'm gonna join a bunch of mass murderers"?

Well, I suppose the villains were never the emphasis anyway. If there's any members of the cast I'll remember, most of them are the heroes. Setsuna, Tieria, Hallelujah, Somaaaa, etc.

Honestly, I like my villains to be manipulative bastards rather than have them running around, beating everyone up if that's what you're implying, Osiris. Not that I don't like tough villains like Ali, but a 'final boss' really should have his minions fight most of his battles and literally do as his title states: be the final boss. But that's just my opinion on all of this.

About when I say the series has jumped the shark? I take that back. It's a decent series. Still hasn't topped G Gundam for my current overall favorite Gundam show, but it has its moments. The pros is about how good the combat scenes are. Well maybe there's hax here and there, but at least latter parts show that they can get creative. I LOVE how Lockon Trans-Ams for 1 second and kick Revive's ass with that. It's also full of homages. I mean, Hi-Nu Reborn Gundam, RX-78 0 Gundam... plus we got Bad Amuro...

Speaking of characters, however, they could use some fixes. Allelujah has his moments, but we kinda wish that he'd be more active in battle, rather than being competent only when Hallelujah takes over. Yes, Hallelujah's asskicking is top notch, but we only got that in small seconds.

Lastly, some characters got heavily shafted that they're like the shadows of their former selves. Ali, that dang magnificent rogue villain? Now he settles with Ribbons, only becoming his lackey and displaying LESS danger factor than he was in Season 1 (Last time, he could appear ANYTIME, ANYWHERE). Graham/Bushido, I have high hopes for him, but his purpose there is just pop in and fight Setsuna off for not-so-relevant battles. All those awesome hot blood soldier stuffs, wasted on that. And there's Nena. You know, Sunrise. If you REALLY do want her to die like that, why do you even bother making her seemingly 'good' in Episode 13, as if giving us signs that she could turn good!? Why bother, if you want her to die like a ***** she is!?

Overall, characterizations are a bit off here and there, and it's people I don't care much that got really good conclusions. For instance, Andrei. Yes I do admit I used to hate him, but in the end? I'd say he got better. And there's the Immortal Colasour. PATRICK. God, what a mighty cockroach. I used to not care much about him, but this certainly makes him 00's answer to Orange-kun. Then there's Louise. While I do pity the girl sometimes... her killing off Nena just kills off a potentially huge chance of great drama. She got better, but beforehand, she goes a total ***** mode that... even TICKS ME OFF FURTHER THAN NENA! There's also how she shove off Andrei for the first time, sure I hated that guy, but even in hate, I felt kinda PITY on him on that one single moment. But let's not dwindle further on the characterization

On the plot, the pacing is... okay. Some ups, some downs. At least there's no fillers. I just hoped that there's none of that mid-season time skip, that was when everything went downhill, but the last episode makes up for it.

Overall, Gundam 00, I can say it's... solid. Not too good, not too bad. I haven't watched GSD, but... pretty sure 00 would be better.
