Feedback from Sonsaru. He played the game at the TGS! ''OK so I played it at TGS today, here are some impressions. I played as Choun (spear guy from the trailer) a few times (sorry only know the Japanese reading for the names.) - You can now select your horse pre-battle, like another piece of equipment, and horses have experiance and levels. - All three characters in the demo attack to just one side (right) when riding a horse now, like Bacho and Ryofu (Lu Bu) did before. - Press down on the directional pad when on foot to call your horse over to you. From looking at your map your horse "teleports" in out of physical sight but nearby and then runs up. - Combo system is totally changed. Basic attacks are now an infinite repeating combo - think Gundam Muso at a high level but never ending. The number of moves before the loop repeats is determined by the level of that new extra gauge, (from level 1 ro 3, then infinite). - Charge moves, rather than changing depending on where the basic moves are interrupted, are now also just a different, stronger combo of moves which also adds extra moves as the guage increase. - Pressing basic attack or charge while holding block does a new close "grab" style move. - System of picking up items that increase defense, attack etc. perminantly by defeating bosses seems to be gone. Characters gain experiance in real-time and can level up during the battle. - Equipping weapons remains, but not sure about items. Rather each character now has a complex skill tree with multiple branches from which different paths appear to be able to be selected / moved along. - Rather than killing gate defenders most gates how have to be smashed through using attacks. Overall, it is quite different. The skill tree etc. looks cool but in the demo it cannot be altered and the characters are vastly overpowered compared to the enemies / have a lot of attack branches already unlocked. Number of enemy kills / number of allies around also seemed boosted. In ten minutes of demo play easily clocked over 500-600 kills. Enemies seemed to drop less healing items (I didn't see any of the steamed buns at all) but you now get healing items for occupying bases. The new combo gauge is raised by fighting enemies and basically the overall emphasis seems to be on making you fight your way to the boss a little more rather than giving you the option of just running there. There's plenty more but that should give you some idea. I talked to one of the staff, all he said about number of player characters is that it would probably be revealed soon. Anyway I'm going in again tomorrow and I'll probably play it again!'' More info from Sonsaru: ''I asked "Can we really hope for them to redo all 48 characters?" and the guy just kinda laughed. So who knows? Booth grunts normally aren't all *that* well informed anyway. But I still think that is a valid question ^-^ It did seem pretty different, a much more fluid playstyle, but as I said the demo characters are too strong to make a good judgement - you don't even notice the bosses and the new gauge can go all the way up to infinite. From the looks of the skill tree you have to earn the extra gauges / combo segements etc. and without the experiance of building a character up from whatever they start as into what the demo gives you, hard to make an overall assessment. The gauge goes down when you get damaged but that just doesn't really happen enough in the demo either ^-^ But it was a lot of fun. Certainly more than another retread. Some characters look massively changed and some you can still tell right away who they are. I'll try the two other playable characters tomorrow anyway, (girl who had the Chakram before, now a bow and bald guy with the ball and chain). I should also spend 10 seconds to look up the English names ^-^'' |

They showed more detail on that trailer now.I got excited because i want to play Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi so bad.I also like the idea of "What if" modes like in the SW series and destorying the gates instead of killing gate capatains. |

Same here. Though, Sima looks cool and all, but I don't think his weapon will impress me. Guess the feather fan would of been the best choice for me too. Zhang He is just getting more awkrawd with each instalment. |

Oh, that late in the evening? I suppose Japan is busy. Are they going to do a press conference or anything today? Or should we only just hope for other gameplay video's? |

That was a helpful review LDZ. I'm behind in my DW6 info. I'll rather see this show then go out, since DW is mentioned. |

Thanks for the info LittleDragonZ, now I'm just sooooo excited that I'm about to wet my pants. And I just saw the trailer. BTW is that the full trailer, or just another one out of three? And can anyone tell me what Sima Yi's weapon is, couldn't really see it. |

Actually, it's extendable claws. He's not holding anything and just has the claws on his hands, which are kinda hidden in his sleeves most of the time. |

It's trailer number 2. The 3rd is the last one. And just in case people don't know, the trailer isn't the opening move, it's just there to promote the game. And yes it does have content from the opening, but opening's never show gameplay footage. That's how you can tell the difference. |

Do you think that they'll show the final parts of the promo trailer after TGS? And when will they show just the opening movie without the gameplay? |
