Again, I just think its a decoration because its too small to be an effective portion of the weapon. I even think she's holding it reversed and that the real business end of the weapon is behind her, if there is anymore to the weapon then that. But if I'm wrong then I'm wrong...thats just what I think.

Those "spikes" really look like they could be the wings of a butterfly or bird. Flails weren't normally that tiny, they were usually rather heavy in fact (most cases, not that heavy, but still had a bit of weight to them).

Its not too small really...
If you compare it to some of the oversized weapons in this game (like Dian Wei's for example) then yes, it is. For a flail, it wouldn't be, and for the amount of her weapon we've seen it is very likely to be a main part.

Anyway, all I know is its a metal ball with spikes. flail or not, it can't just be decoration <_<

EDIT: They were ussualy heavy, but not always, and even the heavy ones were not that big. Also, you can easily tell from the top bit it has a ball shape anyway ;)

Agreed...and I think if it was a flail it should be more circular..

well its both, decoration and weapon cos if it was decoration it would be like painted on not added ibto the end of the weapon, the end of the weapon tht she will hit ppl with.

It looks circular to me
Just hidden behind Lu Bu's shoulder for the most part ;) The top bit seems circular...

Its not circular though, to me atleast. http://tokyo.cool.ne.jp/lovamato/616590byGAF.JPG

From the bottom shot it doesn't look circular, it looks like a little pick...thats why I assume its more decoration then anything.

Hmm, as for Diao Chan's right hand question besides her two huge flower decorations. You can see her character shadow in the very beginning of the TGS 2007 Gameplay (2) youtube vid. You have to pause it as soon as it starts playing and you'll see that Diao Chan is holding the weapon similar to that of a unique sword hilt on her right hand.

As for Zhao Yun's new running move. I believe that is his unique special move and the player was using the strong spinning move during the run animation most of the time on the latest gameplay vid. As for most of the players that didn't hold the O button for Zhao Yun's musou attack. It could be that they really didn't want to waste their musou meter which would make sense to me because if you actually use up all the musou meter then it would take a bit longer to fill it up compared to doing short bursts. Or they could've changed the musou system to where your unable to do longer versions by holding O like the previous DW games.

Notice when Zhao Yun got a Musou Token call "Special" he did his Godspeed and then the token disappear.

I guess we just don't see it the same way. Oh well.

Wow! The new video is awesome. I was right, the new specials are item based and they look fantastic. It looks as though there are new generic weapons (5:35) the club. I wonder what Lu Xun's fire pillars thing will look like. I wonder why noone is holding the musou button down.

I had said that earlier. I wonder why the specials are item based. It is very weird.

Yeah I've noticed it as well. IMO his Godspeed special is one quick way of clearing up a large group of soldiers with the addition of using normal attacks afterwards. His other running strong attack is just as good however it does leave Zhao Yun a bit open at the end of his strong attack for about close to 2 seconds if there is anyone else nearby. :P

From what I've seen in the vids. The normal attacks can be repeated depending on the number on the far left side. Most of the time the meter was up to 2 and that player used normal attacks up to two times before it eventually stopped. If that meter went to infinite for a certain amount of times, then I believe that you'll have an infinite repeat of those normal attacks plus combining it with the unique special move and musou attack, you'll have a lot of options as far as attack combo's go. The only thing I didn't see in the vids were any charge attacks when using the normal attacks. IMO having that wide arrange of attack combinations does look really good as to what I have seen so far.

We've known they were item-based since the Lu Xun-Zhao Yun scan.

Know what I'd really like? If someone who was videotaping themselves playing the game could actually look at the officers on the battlefield before they start playing. Like, scrolling through the allies and the enemies.

Me too. Is that so much too ask. As for Diao Chan I definitely think that is a flail. In her silhouette you can sort of see that there is something at the end of the chain.
