They shouldn't of put Lu Bu in front of diao chan so we can see her weapon better, hopefully she will have a scan that shows her weapon. |

Okay. So I haven't been following this thread very closely. I haven't even ever participated in the forums before. And I've been so busy with work (... and, okay, Orochi) that I'm only just now being caught up on all the DW6 news that's being leaked lately. Let me just give you some context to the remarks I'm about to make. I'm the kind of Musou fan who gets distressed over costume/voice changes between installments in the franchise. I'm reassured by the fact that much of Dynasty Warriors has remained consistent between sequels. I am so far *hating* some of the news I am seeing about the new game. Xiahou Dun with a "club spear"? Liu Bei with two swords instead of just the one? And Lu Bu... *sigh* Lu Bu. Look what they've done to you. You look ridiculous. And don't even get me started on the rumor that Dynasty Warriors could potentially drop some characters rather than add any new ones. Don't get me wrong. I realize that sequels in other franchises mean changes of the exact sort that DW6 is boasting now. But that's the thing... there is something fundamentally different about Dynasty Warriors. It defies the normal trends and even the most respected critics of the video gaming genre, and seemingly makes reptetition, consistency and even a little redundancy into assets. Assets that have made Dynasty Warriors a *huge* cash cow worldwide for Koei, such that spinoffs of the basic DW formula (Samurai Warriors and Bladestorm) are deemed worthwhile to publish. I worry that the changes won't be for the better. And I have that worry because I'm the kind of guy who's completely swallowed the kool-aid and will normally just smile and hand over my money whenever a Musou title comes out. If *I* am contemplating skipping this title because I don't like some of what's coming... Well. I mean, yeah, swimming and climbing ladders is awesome. I do it all the time. Same with grabbing a guy with your feet and helicopter-spinning around with your spear to kill all his friends before you finally drop him to the floor and snap his neck with a twist of your ankles. That's an awesome, PS3-worthy maneuver right there. But if I could possibly do that and keep Xiahou Dun's scimitar that would be ideal. |

First of all welcome fully the forum (since this is your first post), you should have fun here.=D And second you do make a fundamental argument but there comes a time for a change, and changes have pros and cons, A series can only go so far with using the same formula again and again before it starts to implode, before fans grow weary of it and before it completely gets butchered by critics and i believe have stretched the limit to the very extreme, if it were just the Dynasty warriors series i'd say yeah fine just keep doing what youre doing but Koei have released Gundam Musou and Samurai Warriors which basically had exactly the same formula as Dynasty Warriors and now its starting to grow old, If Koei needs to spice up the gameplay and change some characters appearances (though Lu Bu looks like a massive cockroach :P) to reach the next level then so be it. With the weapons etc. i believe Koei are going for a more historical approach and if a better game is achieved by cutting characters then i'm all for it. Koei have realized this and are bring their A Game to the next generation consoles(i hope). You've just got to learn to go with the flow and not stress as much because i pretty much guarantee that if you loved the previous games youll love this one, everyones entitled to their opinions though and i respect yours but we'll have to wait for the final product to come out before we can judge. You should post more and have your opinions heard! |

Xiahou Dun's weapon actually has precedent in ancient China now, unlike his anachronistic scimitar. Liu Bei is portrayed with two swords in the novel. And while I dislike Lu Bu's new weapon, his armor is more authentic and scary than ever. |

I think that Lu Bu's new armor is very scary and dark I love the feathers although I miss the ones he had in DW3, I didn't like the fact that they made him have two scorchers and made them into a windmill thing. |

I definitely agree... the weapon is kind of far-fetched. I love Diao Chan's design, though. To be honest, while I thought she was pretty before, she seemed to be the least attractive of the other DW girls (unless she was drawn really well by an artist, of course). Now, however, I have to re-evaluate that statement, and not because of the risque clothing. They could've gotten away without showing anything more than her face and she'd still look incredible. |

i have a question about the gates, when you tear it down and your force puts it back together is there a way for you to go back there because is it going to be shut the whole time or if you walk in front it will it open for you i am asking this because i hated in dw5 where the bases will close and you would be stuck there. |

I don't know why everybody dislike Lu Bu's weapons, great design and looks powerful. He can throw it like a shuriken(i'm sure it's in his movesets). It can be the ultimate halberd ,i have a feeling he will be a monster(althought i will miss his halberd). As for the future famitsu scan i really hope they show Dian Wei's best friend, Xu Zhu soon. And when they release famitu scan, they should tell us what is the renbu special attacks of the character revealed. |

You can also see him running around in the first TGS video. He's not as fast as Zhao Yun, though. But that could be due to the ''catch-up'' where if you were to have a race against the same character you would catch up to him even if the odds were the same and you would always be tagging from behind. A few games have this. And it occurs mostly in racing games. It's the handi-cap I believe. |

I can't remember if I already posted this or not (don't feel like checking) but Zhao Yun uses the lightning element when doing his renbu attacking where he spins through the air. I guess elements are back in some form. |

That's either Cao Cao (can't tell if he has a cape or not) or a genenric. Edit: I wonder if all characters will have some elemental effect during their renbu attack. Oops. This should probably o in Specualtions. |

Most likely it's just another generic soldier or generic general. Also the top of his head is completely covered. As for the vids that I saw last night, they explained the new gameplay quite well. Taking over the fortress fields does remind me of Gundam Musou yet at least they're won't be that many fortress fields in DW6 looking at the maps in the vids so far. Thankfully there isn't any open fields otherwise that would've been too hectic. I happen to like Lu Bu's weapon change and we only saw the Musou attack. Hopefully he'll have a unique move list that includes detaching his 2 halberds and combining them back. |

Ok noticed something else about the videos. It seems some charges maybe similar to SW. I see in one video that after Zhao Yun does what used to be his C2 he does an attack where he knocks you back down. |
