Hum... You could say: "For the salary, you do as you want!" Well, it may be a little TOO clear... Just ask for a reasonable pay. But it depends on your job of course! |

If you don't mind and want the job then you can say anything bout salary. For me, I usually said it quite low but don't be too low until you suffer lost. But just remember, show your interest to the company. If they asked you "Do you have any questions?" in the end of the interview, you can come up some good questions to make sure they know you're actually wanting this job and very interested in it. Questions can be: "When can I get the answer for being hired?" "How's the time of work?" and related questions, don't just keep silent. Be strong, Chin will pray for you! |

To my mind, if you didn't get the job yet, don't ask about salary... because they may think that your interest it's only money!
anyway good luck sis and get a nice looking as you are always in the pic on KW forum ^^

Hi, guys. Well, I’ll tell you about the interview this morning. First, not so long after I arrived, a man named Mr. Tony started the interview, just the two of us. And surprisingly the interview wasn’t in English. So I did pretty well, though I was like damn I’ve practiced the English conversations these 3 days. But then he started to talk in English and I could answer almost all of his questions pretty well. Until he said I passed that step and on the next step which I thought would be tomorrow or next week, but then I have to start the next step in 5 minutes. I have to act like a receptionist. And I didn’t know anything about handling incoming calls, and many things especially if I have to use that hi tech telephone. He explained me the functions and how to use it in 30 mins. And then for the next 2 hours I answered the call and everything. I was sucks at first but lately I was pretty succeeded. But from what I got from his impression, he thought I wasn’t capable enough to work as receptionist. And receptionist in that company isn’t just to answer calls and call people. But I have to do some secretary’s jobs too, like typing and posting entries, copying papers, making tea and coffee, greeting clients and guests of course, etc. and I only know little of the tasks. And I was nervous too. I smiled a lot, I think. But he said I have to ‘sell’ myself more. Like telling them and proving to them what I’m capable of. Then Mr. Tony took me to one of the directors’ office to meet Mr. Dhani. And omg you know I passed my first nervous moment and when I began to neutralize my heart and feeling, I have to nervous again and I didn’t know what to do. He interviewed me, and I re-introduced myself. He asked me many questions that I couldn’t answer. At least I needed some time to answer. But when he found out that I was nervous he told me to relax and started to speak informally. And somehow, though I was still nervous, I felt a bit comfortable. I considered him more like a friend that time. And in the end he said he still didn’t convince with me. I knew I had to be more confident with my self like you guys told me. I tried, and I tried hard, but when I processed to the last step I was so nervous. And I knew I shouldn’t show my weakness and tell him what I couldn’t do that will make him more unconvinced. But I told him about almost everything about me honestly. I don’t know it’s a bad thing or not. But I enjoyed our conversations and I think he did too. And he taught me a lot about life and work. Also he taught me about bargaining. And in the end, I became more talkative and I couldn’t stop until there was someone who called him. And he said the interview had finished. And I didn’t realize it had been more than 1 hour. Anyway, the director told me about my appearance that to him looked very young. And I said yes because I’m still young. And he said overall, I didn’t look like a professional receptionist should be. Well, I wore long sleeves striped blouse and black knee-length skirt and cute red pump shoes. And as you know I have bangs, and last time I made my hair looked like da qiao, so my bangs is pretty short, above my eyebrows. And it makes me look even younger. And he said “I see you don’t apply make up.” I was like “huh? I applied make up” I used eye shadow and eyeliner and blush on. But he didn’t see it. Well I said I idin’t want to overdo it since I came to interview not to be a fashion model. But he said receptionist is an image or representative that a company have, since I’ll be sitting on the front. So I have to have good appearance and I guess he wanted tot ell me to be more fashionable. I wanted to at first but I thought twice. I was afraid they wouldn’t hire me because I dressed up too much. Then after it was over, Mr. Tony took me into a room, and he said. “We like you. And we’d like to hire you.” I was like what???? I thought they would contact me if they wanna hire me. But it happened so fast and directly. I was thinking isn’t God is too kind to me? Though I have to go with the long and not so easy process, but I think I shouldn’t compete with the other candidates. And he told me to come to the office on Monday to sign a contract. But if I didn’t come, then they will find another candidate to fill that position. So I think, ‘okay, so there ARE other candidates they have interviewed before’. And I was like so I’m the number one in their best candidates list?? I think it’s a miracle. I don’t have experience and they hired me to work in a large company. I’m happy and glad, but now I’m still thinking, since I will have probation for 3 months, I dunno if I can make it. They say if I finish the 3 months probation but they think I don’t work very well they will over me the second probation. It’ll be embarrassing though. But how if after 3 months they decided to fire me? It’s humiliating. Well, overall I’m happy though I’m worried, very worry, about the first d ay of my work and the 3 months trial. Because once again that job isn’t about answering phone, but I have to have more responsibility and I have to be quick and I’m not a fast learner. So I want to say thank you for everyone who have supporting me these days and convinced me to come and try my best in the interview. I hope I can survive and stay for a long time, since the director said if he sees I have abilities, more than just to be a receptionist he’ll surely transfer me to another division. It’ll be a great thing, though I’m not so sure they have a graphic designer which I’m looking forward to be graphic designer in that company. Well, so once again, thank you so very much. You all helped me in this problem. Now I have a job interview experience and better than that I have a job. This makes me think KW has one more point in my heart. I mean, when I asked one of my friends, she said if I wasn’t sure about this job I should go to interview and this job isn’t easy so I should think more about this. Of course she knows me pretty well and she said it, she made me so down. But you guys, not many of you know me, and you guys support me. It means everything. Now, just wish I can work punctually, perfectly, and properly. |
