Scottish Samurai Posts: 731 Group: Members Member #12,998 Joined: January 31, 2008	I will not be counting DW6 in this comparison as they are now very different games. The best example for me would be taking DW5 vs SW2 as both were similar in game engine and releases. As such i go for.... Samurai Warriors - my reasons are there are..... 1)More characters with apparent depth to there stories, less make up numbers. 2)There are different moveset charge styles instead of the same for each and all of roster. 3)The SW gets a special attack unique for them 4)Weapon deadlocks are worth winning as you get a damaging combo is SW2 5)Battlefields are more involving with castles you can actually scale floors in 6) a LOT more unique troops (Sumo, Wind Ninjas, Fire Ninjas, Riflemen, Wind Ninjas, Cavalry etc) 7)Skill system more diverse and compelling that the collectable items of DW. The result is each character is encouraged to level up from scratch and not simply reap the benefits that using another character has gained for you. 8)SW seems to get more effort into having new modes added for each title 9)although done poorly and KOEI missed the potential there i must concede that with SW2 its the only warriors game i can play online with

It's characters are much more unique and well done. They all have great personalities and stories. The game has so much to do as well. In DW, almost all of the stories are repetitive, for me at least. I hate having to do The Yellow Turban Rebellion and Hu Lao Gate thirty times, over and over. And the battlefields are more enjoyable to me with the castles and different events. There is also better character interaction. I could ramble on for hours but overall, I believe SW is the better series by at least a mile.

Heartbreak One Posts: 125 Group: Members Member #17,168 Joined: August 1, 2008	Man this is a hard choice =P I'll have to say Dynasty Warriors, for the simple fact I remember zombifying on DW2 for 2 days with my friend when PS2 first came out. And I have alot of memories with the DW games. So perhaps thats a more biased non logical answer but its my reasoning nonetheless =P

Scottish Samurai Posts: 731 Group: Members Member #12,998 Joined: January 31, 2008	Warriors Orochi - the least accuarate of all the series (go figure ) but if got everyone from both DW and SW series together and gave KOEI free reign to include others not of that era into the game from all sorts of backgrounds from gods in Fu Xi and NuWa to mortal legends in Minamoto Yoshitune and even the Monkey King himself gets an appearance A truly novel fanservice from KOEI and ive spend entire days on the games. All in all i have to be honest though and say ive not really disliked any of the series - theyve all been a blast, even GUNDAM which i really didnt have any background knowledge of and still dont

Dont get me wrong. DW is still a great game series, and im probably going to get dw6 as long as i get a 360 or ps3. But, I just like samurai warriors better. I played DW3 (First Koei Game) and then dw4, then i heard about samurai warriors. I was a little confused as to whether or not it was a Koei game until i actually read about it (I only played games at other friends' houses at the time) and I read about it on some website, and I got a PS2 earlier that year, so I bought SW1. The characters all had such personality. Most people in DW dont, a few that stand out to me are Zhang He, Sima Yi, Ma Chao, and Sun Ce. But Mitsuhide was all about the Virtue, Nobunaga the evil-voiced champion, Sandada, the determined hero, Goemon, the blundering love-struck theif, Magoichi, the playboy, the fun character to know.. Need i say anything about Ranmaru, Hideyoshi, or Yoshimoto? Keiji? Shingen? Dont think so. The names speak for themselves. Also, rolling, weapon deadlock finishers/meters, 6 weapons, great music (dw3 and dw5 were awesome, I only liked a few tracks from dw4, mainly hu lao gate, which is great in every game, dont forget..) and, samurai warriors has, mostly of all, great voice acting. So much passion in Sanada, Akechi, and Magoichi (For the women!). As i said before, Oda just sounded EVIL. Shingen sounded funny yet cool. Ranmaru..:unsure: It's just a great game series. The characters had more personality in Kessen 3, but SW1 came close in my opinion. I never played 1 or 2, only picked up 3 because it was a bargain bin game. If this included capcom games, i could say alot more about Onimusha series and Basara. But, Koei only..Samurai Warriors just had so much replay value, with the different missions and such, just such a good experience. wow... i agree with you so much its crazy.... you wrote what i was about to

Bladestorm really bored me, way too many pointless battles and you are just there to give a hand... it feels like you have not done anything at all. At first I thought it was so fun because of the graphics on my SD tv, but now I have watched some HD movies and bladestorm is nothing special. It was a really boring game because they don't have too many characters to begin with. The end is clear, both lost the battle because France and England still exists. If they made bladestorm into a Musou series, it would have been a much better selling point. Great warriors, great generals and great fields. I don't see why it can't happen
