First of all I'd like to point out that you should only really consider upgrading a weapon once you have the characters 4th. Since they are easy to get and you wouldn't have to waste growth points this way. The maximum number for each attribute can reach level 10 and no higher. The higher the level the more effect and probability the weapon can achieve. Depending on the moves you prefer or use most often, you should choose your options very carefully and through discussion. Hence the topic. I'm going to list all the attributes and the uses: Ice ~ Temporarily freezes the opponents allowing you free hits. Lightning ~ Damages surrounding enemies, causing them to hit the ground. Good if you want to keep the enemies close. Flame ~ Gradually depletes the foes health when in contact. Great for juggling. Slay ~ Runs the same principle as the Shura/Vorpal/Death element. Chance of 1 hit killing common peons, and inflicting huge damage on officers. Brave ~ Inflicts damage to officers and generals alike. Absorb ~ Absorbs the enemies musou to add to your own. Drain ~ Drains the enemies health to add to your own. Range ~ Increases weapon range. Might ~ Causes a very considerable critical amount of damage. Rage ~ The lower the health the more the damage. Multi ~ Creates duplicates of yourself. Useful to confuse the enemy and for the fact there is more than one of you for that short amount of time. Tripling the damage. But since they are seperate forms, won't hit the same foe always. Air ~ Adds to the damage to elevated foes. Same idea as juggling. Agility ~ Attack speed hightens. Good for speed characters. These should appear in most scenario's: Brave Might Slay Flash Here are the characters recommended attributes. Credit to opfer_gv from GameFAQs. Shu: Zhao Yun Bolt, Flash, Slay, Absorb, Air, Range, Multi, Speed : For his C4, also C1 and C1ex. Bolt, Flash, Slay, Air, Brave, Multi, Speed, Might : To clear generic with C4, but usefulness is lower than above skill sets. Bolt, Flash, Slay, Air, Range, Multi, Speed, Might : for clean up peons. Guan Yu Bolt, Flash, Slay, Absorb, Brave, Range, Multi, Might : Almighty skill combo. Bolt, Flash, Slay, Drain, Brave, Range, Multi, Might : If you use character skill, "less power use" and "regain musou power" instead of "combo heal". Bolt, Flash, Slay, Absorb, Range, Multi, Speed, Might : for speed freaks, very fast. But if you think it's too fast, limit the speed level. Zhang Fei Bolt, Flash, Slay, Brave, Range, Multi, Speed, Might : Power type weapon. Can able to kill generic at Chaos with just two C4 combo. Bolt, Flash, Slay, Drain, Brave, Multi, Speed, Might : Assault mode. Increased survival thanks to Drain but bit hard to kill mobs. Ice, Bolt, Flash, Slay, Brave, Multi, Speed, Might : Anti-officer special. C4 (iced) > C1 to kill any generic in Chaos. But lack of Drain and Range could be fatal.. Bolt, Flash, Slay, Drain, Range, Multi, Speed, Might : Stable "peon clean up" special. Zhuge Liang Bolt, Slay, Flash, Drain, Brave, Multi, Speed, Might : with this you can play game only with C4. If you want you could change Brave to Drain, Air, Ice or Range. Bolt, Slay, Flash, Drain, Range, Multi, Speed, Might : ex-counter > C4 special. Liu Bei Bolt, Flash, Slay, Air, Range, Multi, Speed, Might : Use R special then C1 or C2, and C4. Will be able to kill a generic with ease. Ma Chao Bolt, Slay, Flash, Drain (or Might), Air, Range, Multi, Speed : Depends on like, replace Drain to Might. Huang Zhong Bolt, Flash, Slay, Drain, Absorb, Air, Range, Speed : Against hard boss type officer, Lu Bu or Orochi will die in few second. (50% chance either element will work) Ice - 40% chance that target will freeze for 4 seconds, also upto 1.6 times more damage at level 10 on frozen target. Unreliable because not always freeze the enemy but useful for some characters. Does not works best with Air element. Bolt - Chain damage to group target, also target will crumble down with extra damage. Flash - Ignore guard/blocking and damage increase up to 1.3 times at level 10. Slay - 25% chance that peon will die in one hit, extra damage for officer damage to officer is depends on level of health they have now. Drain - Heal when attack target. But drain amount is same when you hit single or multiple target. Depends on damage you done, recover extra amount(?) Absorb - Recharge Musou power when hit target. But absorb amount is same when you hit single or multiple target. Depends on damage you done, recover extra amount(?) Air - Extra 1.6 times more damage at level 10 skill against lifted target. As long as target is on the air, element will work on them. Also works best with Tech character (Critical Hits). Not a good idea with Ice element, because frozen target will stay on ground. Brave - Extra attack power against Officer, up to 1.4 times damage at level 10 skill. 2 times with Might element. Range - increase the charge attack range, but does not work with R1 special skills, Musou attack and attack which does not use weapon (kick, punch..) Some small weapons (Oichi for example) will not get benefit from this element. Multi - extra hit with illusion. Damage factor is "level of skill times 0.1". Each illusion comes with elements which makes them powerful at some situation. Agility - increase the swing speed, but if it is too fast some attacks will bugged.. (e.g some characters C5 strike point will move to wrong place etc..) Might - Increase the attack power, up to 1.4 times more damage at level 10 skill. With Brave, damage bonus will become 2 times more. Rage - When health is in RED zone, double the damage (with level 10). Not so useful since keep health in RED zone is not recommended. |

What stage is the best for getting weapons for all three characters? Please don't say Wu Stage 4x, cause I have had so much trouble with that one. |

The one I recommend, and sorry about you hearing what you didn't want to hear. And since there are power-ups and weapon boxes, plus it being a 3 star, it is the best choice. Not forgetting it's a short stage in both terms of running around and how quickly you can complete it. |

You could also try Wei 6-X (same one to get Zhen Ji) on Hard ... that's where I got my first 4th weapons. I can't remember everyone who drops them (Kotaro for sure) but someone did a video on YouTube using Zuo Ci to farm that level. |

Recommended Weapon Attributes (Technique Characters) - Bolt - best element since ice prevents you from killing the enemies instantly and flame won't stun the opponents for you. - Flash - must have, annoying for them to block the damage - Slay - must have, sometimes instant kill - Brave - for some extra officer ownage - Range - I think its extremely useful - Multi - depends on the character, but i recommend it because it multiplies the damage by a lot - Agility - the faster you execute your the attack, the dealier, another must get - Might - increase overall damage, why wouldn't you want this? For getting 4th weapons, the 1st one is always the hardest since the character needs to finish the level with his 3rd. But for the stage I recommend is Shu stage Battle of Jie Ting. Masamune is an easy foe and there's not many archers, gunners around. The Five Gates is also good but Lu Bu is slightly dangerous if your caught in his attack and don't have the musou to counter. The Wu 4X stage is pretty good but I find the stage a bit boring and Ieyasu always struggling requesting for assistance. I don't play power or speed characters very much so I'm not sure which are the right attributes for them. Power characters don't get stunned as much and their R1 is pretty powerful. Most speed characters require less or no musou consumption with their R1 which is spammable (Mitsuhide?). Damage-wise, technique characters are the way to go. |

It depends on the character really though. Bolt can ruit a characters combo. Ranmaru's C3 for example. I personally prefer Flame, for the added damage, and no interuption to combos, though Bolt is also 1 of my best. |

Most all my weapons have Flash Brave Might Multi Range Agility and Slay and the 8th spot is either ice bolt flame or drain for the most part, Keiji i use ice cause i'm used to him freezing peeps since thats how i played him in SW1, a lot of them i use bolt in though, most of my sword type characters i give bolt to. |

I always get my 4th weapons in the stage with date masamune that you need to bring a messenger to the north east fort and lu bu spawns there together with honda. I think its one of the 7th stages. |

Ones I NEVER use are Rage, Brave, Drain and mostly Air (except for people like Nobunaga with multi-air hits.) Most of my weapons include the combo of... Flash Slay Agility Multi Might Range Sometimes Absorb Either Flame, Ice or Bolt Bolt is sometimes bad as some people (Kunoichi) has a C2 that causes shock on the first hit, therefore disabling you from knocking them into the air for a combo. I don't use brave cause I'm always like "Hey, who needs Brave when you got Might? Still increases attack." |

About the Drain and Absorb Attribute, 1) Do they increase the life and musou of the person? Coz the only effect I see is that they heal much faster that's all 2) If they increase, to what extent? What's the maximum you can get? Multi >> When does the effect take place? Possibly coz I don't really get multi all the time i've yet to put it into my weapons. Brave vs Might >> Dishonour on attacking only the officers stronger aside, which is the better attribute? Should both attributes be inserted into the weapon or just one? Elementals >> Flash or Slay? Since I've got a habit of combining Flame and Bolt for most of my weapons, I can't really put many other attributes if I've also got Flash and Slay. Which is recommended? Btw, the way I play is to get close as possible to the peons and start killing them. So Would Slay work better for me? |

I'll attempt this I guess ...
They do not increase the life & musou of the characters. Those are determined by Vitality & Focus abilities + the level of the character. Drain & Absorb refills the existing life & musou gauges only during charge attacks.
Not sure on the exact amount, but the higher the attribute level, the more you refill. The amount refilled is the same whether attacking one officer or a crowd of soldiers. You can continue to refill the gauges to their existing limits.
All weapon attributes activate on Charge attacks.
Might is an overall attack power boost, while Brave focuses on officers only. I personally use both in my weapon set ups, but if I had to choose one, it'd be Might probably.
First, no need to have Flame & Bolt. Bolt is far more effective for most characters than Flame, IMO. As far as Flash & Slay, they should both be used. Flash overrides guard on charge attacks, while Slay is basically Demon (Shura) element that can one hit peons & deal massive damage to officers. Hopefully that covers everything! |

I disagree with this one. Combining Ice and Fire is actually recommendable for certain characters, especially for those who were great with both elements in DW5 and SW2 (Yukimura, Zhang Fei, Kotaro, Huang Zhong, Xiahou Yuan, Zhao Yun etc.) |

Sometimes it can be good, I agree as well. It isn't often useful, but can be. Also, fire doesn't always douse when it hits the ground. I don't think it ever has for me

Shu stage 6, Battle of Hu Lao Gate, has NO enemy archers or riflemen AT ALL. It's my favorite stage for 4th weapon harvesting for this reason as I get enough damage from foot soldiers alone. The only drawback though is that the stage is long compared to Five Gates or Jie Ting. |

Wow nice, I didn't know that at all, it would be a great stage for getting 4th weapons since the drawback on time is only about 1-2 minutes compared with Jie Ting. Five Gates is still the shortest time-wise, but I just don't feel right going against Lu Bu on hard or chaos. Thanks for the tip. |

Brave and Might is a must. Don't recommend having one without the other. I go to Wu 3 for my 4th weapon harvesting. May not be the fastest stage per se, but when you've played it as much as I have (when farming for Abilities) you can get through it pretty quickly while earning some EXP if you need it. Boy does it hurt when you get hit on Chaos. (First post! ^_^) |

Do you think which works the best? Bolt+Flame vs. Bolt+Ice I'm not sure if Bolt+Ice can reduce the chance of freezing the enemies or not. Can anyone confirm? I think Ice is better off by itself. I always have either of these two pairs in my weapons! That's why I'd like to know which work better. |

Both have their own uses, advantages and disadvantages. I'd say Bolt + Flame works better because of the added damage, Ice just prevents you from getting those instant kills, but that's just my opinion. I don't even use 2 elements together in my weapons for some reason. Depending on the characters I think sometimes Bolt + Ice does work better. |

Not necessarily. Characters whose Charge attacks are suitable for crowds don't really need both Brave and Might. Ususally Might alone is enough. Bolt+Flame works for some characters, like for Xu Zhu. With Bolt, his C4 doesn't throw enemies away and with C5 you can juggle enemies who are on fire. |

I have found absord and drain to be useless. But thats just my opinion. The only things I put on all weapons is Flash and Might. But like its been said plenty of times it just depends on the character. The only character I dont have flash on is Sun Ce, he just doesn't seem to need it. SPEED Fire-Bolt-Air With their ability to chain their specials for endless juggles this works for me TECHNIQUE Air-Fire-Agility/Multi (depends on character) Critical hits on airborn opponents, even Lu Bu falls in 2 juggles POWER Bolt-Multi-Slay Power characters are better officer killers, so these are musts. Just some of my observations. |

You should know that Bolt loses its effect when combined with Multi. I use that combination with Hideyoshi and I've noted that all of is Charge attacks throw enemies away >_>. Absorb and Drain become effective once you get them to level 10. Absorb is useful for Power and Speed characters while Drain should be used with Technique. |
