I'm wondering how damage stacking works exactly. The guide says that Brave + Might is 2x damage, but is that exactly 2 times, or 1.96 (1.4 x 1.4)? Also, is Air + Might better than Brave + Might if you had to choose between Air and Brave? It would be if stacking is done by multiplication, but I'm not sure if that's actually the case.

As far as Air + Might vs. Brave + Might, Tech characters benefit most from Air because of Critical Hits so for them Air + Might is more effective. For others, Brave + Might is probably your best bet.

This is based on my limited understanding of the attributes & their mutipliers though. opfer_gv @ GameFAQs is the one to ask about specifics. That's where the info came from & I use his recommendations on all my characters (except maybe one).

Thanks for the quick reply, but does anyone have a definite answer? I was asking this because many of the weapon setup suggestions in the first post have Air instead of Brave, even for non-Tech characters.

EDIT: On a completely separate note, when I use Okuni's C4, the initial launch always knocks them really far away so the umbrella spin part never hits. Is there a way to get around this?

It isn't "really" far away, it just knocks them slightly forward so that it makes juggle hard.
I have Bolt on her weapon so that's probably why it does this, or maybe this is just her move.

Ah, that makes sense. It used to juggle fine until I did a major weapon upgrade, so Bolt might be the cause of it.

Oh that's okay, guess your question is answered. :)
I don't really use Okuni much, so yeah, just noticed she's another non-Bolt user. x.x
I have my Guan Ping equip Flame instead of Bolt, that way, his C4 traps the enemies more and deals dealier damage rather than flying everywhere.

The elements of in the weapons are like chemicals, you can experiment with them and play around with them, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, and eventually you get a result you'll be pleased with. :)

After doing some testing, I found out that it's actually Multi that knocks them forward, not Bolt. Bolt makes them not launch at all, and Bolt + Multi launches them again, but not straight up (I think something about Multi overriding Bolt's effect was posted on an earlier page).

I actually put all of them in a weapon... Might + Brave + Air for complete officer decimation, especially for the Super Combo freaks. In other cases, Brave + Might is indeed your best bet with the non-juggle combo freaks (AKA those who prefer killing their prey quickly on the floor)

Ur right about there. Bolt doesn't even launch people at crazy random angles, but rather go well with most charge attacks. Heck, Cao Pi with Complete Bolt + Slay + Might + Brave made killing officers with his deadly jump charge a brutal life slicing spectacle. Yep, Bolt is just SOOOOOO Good in this game... heck, almost any character would go well with Bolt.

Heres some of my best Weapon Attribute Combos.

Xing Cai:

Abilities: Speed, Boost, Vitality, Potence, Fortitude, Impulse, Adrenaline

Bolt, Slay, Might, Brave, Multi, Air, Flash, Range - C1 Main

Reason for Abilities/Wepon Attributes: Run up to a general, Use her C1 (T), Do R1 and then L+R1 really fast right after C1. Then jump away after using her two R1 attacks. It takes a while to do this right, but once you can, its an awesome combo. It takes away around 2/4-3/4 of the enemies HP everytime on average when you master it.

Kunoichi:

Abilities: Power, Boost, Vitality, Focus, Potence, Impulse, Conserve

Bolt, Slay, Might, Brave, Flash, Range, Agility, Absorb - R1 then use C2/C3 Main

Reason: Why Absorb? After using R1 (Turns her invisible), Use C2 (ST) to attack. Your damage will get increased and you with slowly gain back MOST of the Musou you lost. After a couple seconds of using R1 to turn yourself invisible, Use it again. If you keep doing this at the right times, you will NEVER get damaged. When getting attacked by a big crowd, do R1 then C3 (SST) until she flips back and does that explosion attack, which damages big groups of enemies.

Zhen Ji

Abilities: Speed, Boost, Vitality, Potence, Fortitude, Impulse, Adrenaline

Bolt, Flash, Slay, Brave, Might, Agility, Multi, Air - C4 Main

Reason: Zhen Ji can EASILY OHKO any enemy Officer using her C4 (SSST) kick. You can use her L+R1 Flute attack to slow down the enemy and weaken their defence if your not so confident that you can OHKO the officer without taking damage. After doing the C4 Attack, double jump away and pick up the weapon/exp the enemy dropped.

I took all my attribute setups from opfer_gv's guide and it hasn't failed me at all. I may have modified 1-2 (Da Ji comes to mind) but other than that, I stuck to his recommendations ^_^
