Hello everyone, it's been a while.... Here's a script of the intermission events found in Warriors Orochi. Although I spent a bit of time typing most of them down, it's still incomplete. (I happen to be quite slow when it comes to typing things....) These conversations occur before or after battle and are meant to advance the plot of the story. Each of them are filled with mild suspense, heart-wrenching drama and a little bit of humor. Several characters will even make non-canon appearances once they've become playable in the storyline involved. Also, there are plenty of spoilers here, so please read them at your own discretion.... Warriors Orochi Story Guide Shu Story Mode Story Chapters Chapter 1 - Battle of Ueda Castle Narrator: Orochi, the Serpent King, descended from the heavens... Using his demonic powers to warp time and space, he created a fusion between the Three Kingdoms era of China, and the Warring States period of Japan. He then tested his might against the heroes of these ages. The armies of Wei and Wu broke before the might of Orochi's forces. The Shu army, too, fell to defeat, and the whereabouts of many of its officers were unknown. One such officer, Zhao Yun, was being held prisoner beneath Ueda Castle, now under Orochi's control. Driven to despair by the vision of his lord Liu Bei being struck down, Zhao Yun was given fresh hope by the sudden arrival of the hermit, Zuo Ci, bearing unexpected news... Aftermath Scene - First Part - Zhao Yun: You have saved me. I was about to despair, but you have given me fresh hope. Zuo Ci: Only the loss of your lord would bring true despair. You must seek him out quickly. Zhao Yun: But we have no idea where to begin. We are too weak... Zuo Ci: Have faith, young dragon. There is strength in numbers. Together, you will have all the power you need. I must take my leave, but my eye will be upon you... Farewell. Second Part - Ginchiyo Tachibana: Thank you... But you know, I would have escaped on my own eventually. I am aware of the code of honor. Allow me to pay my debts by fighting for you. Chapter 2 - Battle of Hasedo Narrator: Liu Bei lives... Inspired by Zuo Ci's words, Zhao Yun managed to escape from Orochi's clutches beneath Ueda Castle. He was now driven by a new desire - to fight Orochi and rescue Liu Bei. But as Zhao Yun and his allies stayed on the run, evading capture, they came across the forces of Orochi transferring a prisoner... The unfortunate captive was none other than Yue Ying, a fellow officer of Shu... Prelude Scene - Zhao Yun: There are enemy soldiers just ahead! Everyone, hide! Random Character Comment: Ma Chao: Look! The enemy has captured Lady Yue Ying! This is our chance to rescue her. She is a noble and just woman, and would be invaluable to our cause! Jiang Wei: Lord Zhao Yun... Our lady Yue Ying is being held prisoner there! I owe her too much to simply leave her in their hands! Xing Cai: Look, Zhao Yun! Yue Ying has been imprisoned. She fought the good fight alongside me. I cannot leave her. Ranmaru Mori: My lord, look! Lady Yue is being held prisoner! She fought with me in the Resistance against Orochi. On my honor as a man, I must not leave her to die! Kanetsugu Naoe: Look! That lady has been captured! it is our duty to rescue a woman in need! Zhao Yun: We cannot leave her there, but we are outnumbered, so our movements will have to be covert. Aftermath Scene - First Part - Zhao Yun: I hear that you have spent some time behind enemy lines. Did you hear anything about my lord, Liu Bei? Magoichi Saika: Rescuing men won't get you very far... But if you're interested, there was this girl who mentioned seeing him in Cheng Du. Zhao Yun: Cheng Du! Thank you, sir, thank you very much! We have no time to lose! We must away! Magoichi Saika: Woah, woah. Hold on, there. Now, I don't usually like to spend too much time with men, but this is an emergency. I'm coming with you! Second Part - Random Character Comment: Jiang Wei: I am struggling, my lady, to comprehend what I just saw... My lord Zhuge Liang was attacking you... Sima Yi: As much as I enjoyed seeing you two at each other's throats, would you mind explaining why that was? Zhen Ji: Domestic squabbling in public... Can you explain this humiliation? Zhou Yu: I do not understand it... I know Zhuge Liang must have a plan, but I can't see why he would attack you. Lu Xun: Your husband is attacking you, my lady. But in his brilliant mind, surely there must be some method to his madness... Da Qiao: It must be a trial beyond imagining to have to fight against your beloved. If you need to talk about it, I'm here to listen... Xiao Qiao: How can you two be fighting like that? Something's really wrong... Zhu Rong: Equality is the cornerstone of any relationship. You can't let him do that to you! Yukimura Sanada: Zhuge Liang is your husband, is he not, my lady? How can he attack you like this? Goemon Ishikawa: Hey, wasn't that guy your husband? What's he doing trying to kill you like that? Magoichi Saika: That's no way for a man to treat his wife. Tell me what's the matter; I can be a shoulder to cry on. Masamune Date: You would have died if we hadn't got here! Isn't that guy your husband? What's going on? Ina: Why is this happening? He is your husband, is he not? Ginchiyo Tachibana: This is why men cannot be trusted! He is your husband, and he attacked you! Kanetsugu Naoe: Why is it that your husband would attack, knowing you are here? I hear that he is an honorable man... Nene: Fighting is not the way to build a happy relationship. What's the problem? Come on, you can tell me. Musashi Miyamoto: What's he think he's doing? He could have killed you, his own wife! Yue Ying: I do not understand it myself. But I know that he is a great man. There is a good reason for everything that he does. His behavior on this battlefield must have a convincing explanation too, I am sure. Random Character Response: Jiang Wei: Yes, you must be right. And I will make it my mission to find out just what that is. Sima Yi: Zhuge Liang truly thinks nothing of you, then... Your married life must be quite a trial. Zhen Ji: Trust is a wonderful thing. Just make sure I'm well clear next time you meet. Zhou Yu: I know that much. I just can't figure out what it is, and that irks me. What is he thinking? Lu Xun: I thought as much. But we must ascertain what he aims to do as quickly as we can. Da Qiao: Oh, that is true love! I think I could learn a lot from you. Xiao Qiao: But now you two are enemies? It's all very confusing... Zhu Rong: My dear, equality only works when everyone knows that the woman calls the shots. Otherwise it's just not fair! Yukimura Sanada: Your faith is unyielding. I am impressed. Goemon Ishikawa: Ha! What a gal! Trust like that sure doesn't come cheap! Zhuge Liang's one lucky son of a gun! Magoichi Saika: I was kinda hoping you'd forget about him and come with me, but this could be tougher than I thought... Masamune Date: Doesn't sound so great to me. I tell you what, I'd never run the risk of killing my wife for the sake of some wonderful plan. Ina: You are the ideal wife - always thinking of your husband, always having faith. Ginchiyo Tachibana: Your faith astounds me... The bonds of marriage are strong indeed... Kanetsugu Naoe: I see. This is a riddle for me to decipher on my own... Very well, lady of yore. I will ponder the puzzle you have posed. Nene: You think too much. I think I'll have to have a word with your husband! Musashi Miyamoto: Well, if you say so. I hate to see a pretty woman suffering with some lout of a husband. Chapter 3 - Battle of Cheng Du Narrator: Zhao Yun and his allies arrived in Cheng Du, following a lead that suggested this was where Liu Bei was being held. Upon their arrival, however, they were shocked to see that Cheng Du Castle was under heavy attack from Yukimura Sanada, himself supposedly a member of the Resistance against Orochi. Yukimura had been tricked into believing that the soldiers of the army inside Cheng Du Castle were the spirits of the dead, revived by Orochi's necromancy. Under siege, it was only a matter of time before the Cheng Du Army would be wiped out. To defend his lord trapped within the castle, Zhao Yun took up the fight against Yukimura... Prelude Scene - Magoichi Saika: I checked Cheng Du out. The castle's under heavy guard, and the sentries are seriously on edge. They may as well have a sign out front letting us know who they've got in there. Zhao Yun: Thank you for your efforts. Right, we must advance upon Cheng Du, and rescue my lord! Aftermath Scene - Wei Yan: Liu Bei... no... here. Trick... Zhao Yun: You were searching for him too? Then you must join us, and we will continue our search together. Yukimura Sanada: Wait, Lord Zhao Yun! You must allow me to apologize for my foolishness! Zhao Yun: No apology necessary. I would have done the same had I been in your position. Random Character Comment: Zhuge Liang: I hear Da Ji had slipped several of her soldiers in to both your army and the army of Cheng Du. It was a quite brilliant strategy, guaranteed to cause mistrust among the enemy ranks. Pang Tong: Your guys were all mixed in with Da Ji's guys. Boy, was that confusing! Which, of course, is exactly what she wanted. That's the pinnacle of villainy right there, I tell ya. Yue Ying: I underestimated Da Ji. She wreaked havoc by slipping her soldiers into our armies, and turning us against each other. Cao Cao: I underestimated that woman. To pull off a complex plan involving undercover forces takes considerable cunning. Sima Yi: It was incredible to see Da Ji's soldiers mixed in with your own. It looks like she fooled you completely, didn't she? Zhou Yu: Da Ji must have sent in a series of sleepers to our armies. She is quite the strategist - skillfully manipulating the enemy to turn them against one another. It is genius. Lu Xun: It seems Da Ji had cunningly infiltrated all of the armies involved. It's no wonder there was such confusion out there. We could have our hands full with her. Lu Meng: That woman is evil, but she is not without cunning... She had placed her men in the ranks of the other armies, with the intent of creating confusion. Magoichi Saika: Oh yeah, that reminds me. Apparently some of Da Ji's forces were in your army and the army at Cheng Du. They were probably trying to create dissesion in the ranks... That woman's a real terror. Shingen Takeda: It looked like there were more than a few inside agents in all of those armies... I'm surprised there wasn't even more confusion than there was. That woman has a truly devious mind. I'd like to get to know more about it... Sakon Shima: She was pretty cunning though, I have to admit. Slipping enemy soldiers into our ranks like that... Yoshihiro Shimazu: It looks like Da Ji had slipped some of her men into your army and the army in Cheng Du. I have to admit - she's a cunning fox. Getting us to do her dirty work for her... Yukimura Sanada: Da Ji must have wanted to rid of us both badly... My lord, allow me to join your army! Zhao Yun: I would be a fool to turn down an offer from one so talented. With you at my side, I am afraid of no one. Magoichi Saika: I hate to break up this touching scene... But Da Ji's headed south. Are we following, or what? Wei Yan: Chase... Da Ji... Find... Liu Bei... Zhao Yun: You speak wisely, my ineloquent friend. We must chase Da Ji. Maybe she will lead us to my lord. Chapter 4 - Battle of Nan Zhong Narrator: Having joined forces with Yukimura, the Zhao Yun-led Coalition Army was riding the crest of a new wave of momentium. Pursuing Orochi's strategist Da Ji, whom they believed knew the whereabouts of Liu Bei, they arrived in the province of Nan Zhong. This southern province had thus far managed to maintain its independence from Orochi through the judicious use of sporadic raids led by their king, Meng Huo. Just as Zhao Yun arrived, however, the cunning Sima Yi, now a leader of the Orochi Army, was about to unleash a plan to end the resistance and wipe out the people of Nan Zhong... Prelude Scene - Random Character Comment: Keiji Maeda: Phew, it sure is hot down here. Perhaps I outta shave these beautiful golden locks of mine, heh heh... Goemon Ishikawa: Ooh, it's hot out here! I feel like I'm being boiled alive! Kenshin Uesugi: This heat... My head is on fire... I need a drink. Okuni: My, it's certainly heating up... I don't think he's got the seasons here quite right yet... Kunoichi: Wow, it sure is hot around here! I oughtta just forget all this Orochi business and work on my tan instead! Magoichi Saika: How am I gonna keep cool here? No one's gonna come near me covered in sweat! Shingen Takeda: Ho, it's certainly warm. If only I could take this mask off and slip into something more comfortable... Masamune Date: Don't worry about me... I'm fine. I've faced hotter temperatures than this, let me assure you! No: This heat... I'd take some more clothes off, but then nobody would be able to concentrate... Yoshimoto Imagawa: Oh, so hot! Where are my servants? I need someone to fan me down! Yukimura Sanada: My lord, what is this place? I have never seen anywhere like this! Zhao Yun: We are in barbarian territory. It is unknown, unexplored land. Be alert: it is rumored to be filled with poisonous swamps and other mysterious and deadly wonders. This land is ruled over by the great barbarian king, Meng Huo. I wonder whether he is here... Aftermath Scene - Zhu Rong: We owe you our lives... And we have a chance to repay that debt now, don't we dear? Meng Huo: You're right as ever, my darling! I'll help you find who you're after. Zhao Yun: Thank you most kindly. Your hospitality is much underrated. With your forces to aid us, even the most formidable army will think twice before attacking! Magoichi Saika: You know how these emotional moments break me up... But I hear there's an important prisoner being held in Wu. You wanna do something about that? Zhao Yun: It must be my lord this time! We have no time to waste! Chapter 5 - Battle of the Wu Territory Narrator: Liu Bei was being held in Xin Di Castle... Having obtained fresh intelligence, Zhao Yun and his men headed for Xin Di, in the heart of Wu Province. Defeated by the Orochi Army, Wu were now led by Sun Quan, who served Orochi under threat of the execution of his father Sun Jian. Zhao Yun and Yukimura took up their spears, aware that the battle that faced them would not be an easy one... Prelude Scene - Random Character Comment: Pang Tong: I had myself a little peek over at Xin Di Castle, and I must say the soldiers look pretty nervous. Zhou Tai: All is quiet at Xin Di. Zuo Ci: The defense of Xin Di Castle is in readiness. They seem to be expecting an attack. Kunoichi: Well, I just took me a look at Xin Di Castle and wow, talk about dullsville! Everyone's just standing around looking worried. Magoichi Saika: The castle is under heavy guard. Hanzo Hattori: The castle is on high alert. Nene: I just took a look at Xin Di Castle. Everyone seems really tense! Kotaro Fuma: Xin Di Castle is under heavy guard. It should be worth our while. Magoichi Saika: It's pretty obvious they've got somebody important hidden away in there. Zhao Yun: We must move quickly. Yukimura, I would like your army to advance from the fortress of Hui Ji. Yukimura Sanada: Yes. And you will attack from the fortress of Mo Ling, enabling us to advance into Xin Di Castle on two fronts. Zhao Yun: All going to plan, we should meet at the castle to rescue my lord. Godspeed! Aftermath Scene - Magoichi Saika: I can't believe it - a trap! We walked right into it. He made sure we thought this guy was Liu Bei, and sucked us right in to his lair. Yuan Shao: You mistook me for that peasant Liu Bei!? Do you people know nothing of true nobility!? Well, I suppose I shall have to make do for now... But you'll have to do better if you want to serve as my army! Zhao Yun: ... Yuan Shao: I know you are all overwhelmed by this honor. But we have work to do! While imprisoned, I overheard where Liu Bei was being held. I assume you would like to know where... Zhao Yun: More than anything in the world! Yuan Shao: Follow me, and all your prayers will be answered! ...Er, just as soon as I can remember where it was... Random Character Comment: Wei Yan: You... stupid... Dian Wei: Can I be the one to rip his head off? Xiahou Yuan: Someone hold me back, before I do something I might regret... Except, I probably wouldn't regret it. Huang Gai: You want me to jog your memory? Da Qiao: If it weren't so unladylike, I'd... Well, I'd do something I might regret later! Xiao Qiao: Silly boy! Ling Tong: Who votes we put him back in? One, two, three... Meng Huo: ...How come no one's pounding him? Zhu Rong: ...I might have guessed. Nobunaga Oda: ...I see. Goemon Ishikawa: Oh, I just wanna punch ya! Magoichi Saika: This is why I prefer the company of ladies. Hideyoshi Toyotomi: Maybe if we pretend we didn't see him, we won't have to take him with us. Chapter 6 - Battle of Hu Lao Gate Narrator: Liu Bei was not in Xin Di Castle. Zhao Yun had fallen perfectly for the trap laid for him by Zhuge Liang, now a servant of the vil Da Ji. Still struggling to understand Zhuge Liang's motivations, the Coalition arrived at Hu Lao Gate... ...Where they stumbled across Sun Ce, who was under concerted assault from Sima Yi of the Orochi Army. Zhao Yun found himself unable to ignore Sun Ce's plight... Enemy he may have been once, but Sun Ce was an ally in the battle against Orochi, and he could not let him die... Prelude Scene - Zhao Yun: We wander from place to place... I am beginning to wonder if we are really getting any closer to finding my lord at all... Yue Ying: I see fires blazing up ahead. Perhaps that is where the Orochi Army is. Random Character Comment: Huang Zhong: Look, these soldiers are under attack! Any enemy of our enemy is a friend! We must lend our aid! Dian Wei: Look, they are under attack from Orochi's warriors! It is our duty to help them before they are wiped out! Cao Ren: That army needs our help. We must act as their shields, and see them to safety. Huang Gai: They are in trouble. On my honor, we must help them! Lu Bu: That army is under fire. How about we give them a hand, just to keep things interesting. Kenshin Uesugi: An ally is in need of assistance, and I am in need of a good hard battle. Yoshihiro Shimazu: Hey, those guys are outnumbered and in big trouble! Just my sort of fight! Musashi Miyamoto: Hey, those guys need us! Come on, we can't leave them to die! Zhao Yun: ...It's Sun Ce! Right! We must launch an attack on the Orochi Army! Aftermath Scene - Sun Ce: I know I owe you my life, and normally I would pledge my allegiance to your spear... But I cannot turn back on my father in his hour of need. I must go back to the castle and rescue him... Yuan Shao: Castle...? That's it! I remember now! Liu Bei is being held in Edo Castle! Sun Ce: My father is in Osaka Castle, Liu Bei in Edo Castle. They're worried we'll join forces, so they've split them up. A good leader always does what his enemy least wants him to do... You can count on my help to free Liu Bei! Zhao Yun: And I will be very glad to accept your help. We must make for Edo Castle at once! Chapter 7 - Battle of Edo Castle Narrator: Liu Bei was imprisoned in Edo Castle... Relying upon the recollections of Yuan Shao, whom they rescued in Wu, Zhao Yun moved his forces to the foot of Edo Castle. Sun Ce had also promised his aid in this battle, once he rescued Sun Jian from Orochi's clutches. Gazing up at Edo Castle, Zhao Yun felt a new and steely determination rising within his breast - no matter what terrible enemies he must face, he would rescue Liu Bei... Aftermath Scene - Guan Yu: Our brother is held hostage... Until he is safe, we have no choice but to cross blades with you... Zhang Fei: But think about it. Da Ji's going to take them to where our lord is held, right? Then we should go too! If we stay here, nothing's going to change! Guan Yu: How can you say that!? Do you care nothing for our brother? If we turn our backs on Orochi, we will be putting his life in danger! Zhuge Liang: Do not concern yourself, Guan Yu. Our lord is quite crucial to Orochi as a hostage. No harm will come to him for now. Indeed, do you not think that the prospect of in-fighting among his followers would distress our lord more than anything else? Guan Yu: ...I have been blind. Zhao Yun, can you forgive us, and allow us to join your quest? Zhao Yun: We must present a united front when we rescue our lord! Chapter 8 - Battle of Koshi Castle Narrator: Zhao Yun forced Da Ji to show him the way to where Liu Bei was being held in Orochi's lair of Koshi Castle. The tests which Zhuge Liang had made the Allied Forces undergo were all to enable them to discover the location of this formidable fortress. His plan had finally come to fruition. Victory in this battle would mean freedom from Orochi's evil grip, not only for Liu Bei, but for the entire land. The final battle was about to begin... Side Story Chapters Chapter 2-X - Ambush at Nan Zhong Narrator: Zhao Yun had escaped from Ueda Castle, only to be confronted with the soldiers of the Orochi Army. Having heard of Zhao Yun's plight, Jiang Wei arrived to assist. Nevertheless, Orochi's army far outnumbered the Coalition. Total annihilation appeared the most likely result. In the nick of time, however, Yoshihiro Shimazu suggested a plan for making the most of their minimal resources... Chapter 3-X - Battle of Shizugatake Narrator: Hearing that the uprising led by the Hojo Army was being forcibly suppressed by the Orochi Army, Yukimura Sanada raced to the rescue. The leader of the Orochi Army was Pang De, an officer of Wei, now subservient to Orochi. Witnessing the selfless and tragic struggle of the Hojo soldiers first hand, Pang De was secretly filled with shame at his own cowardice... Yukimura must win two battles: the battle to rescue the Hojo and the battle for Pang De's soul... Chapter 4-X - Escape from Chi Bi Narrator: Wei Yan's treasure had been stolen by the master thief Goemon Ishikawa. The treasure in question was a gift from Liu Bei himself, and was highly prized by Wei Yan. Enraged, Wei Yan enlisted the help of Xing Cai, and together they set off in pursuit of the thief. They finally caught up with him near the cliffs of Chi Bi... Chapter 5-X - Battle of Jie Ting Narrator: Masamune Date, an officer of Orochi, had set up his camp in Jie Ting. But now, he had set forth, determined to force the surrender of Zhao Yun. In order to defeat this powerful foe, Zhao Yun turned to Masamune's friend, Magoichi Saika, as the commander of this battle. Magoichi strolled confidently to the battlefield, with the two beauties Zhu Rong and Xing Cai by his side... Chapter 6-X - Battle of Tetorigawa Narrator: Deciding to split up and search for a clue to the whereabouts of Liu Bei, Zhao Yun scattered his forces to all corners of the map. Sent to Tetorigawa, Meng Huo and Zhu Rong discovered a small band of swordsmen fighting gamely against Orochi's forces. They were led by the mighty warrior Musashi Miyamoto. Never ones to leave a struggling man to die, Meng Huo and Zhu Rong rushed to Musashi's aid... Chapter 7-X - Battle of Xi Liang Narrator: Across the land, the people began to flee from Orochi-controlled territories to escape his despotic rule. In response, Dong Zhuo, an officer of the Orochi Army, declared that any caught fleeing would be executed. To demonstrate his point, Dong Zhuo launched an attack on the village of Xi Liang, whose citizens had attempted to escape to territory under the control of the Coalition Army. Hearing news of this tyranny, Yukimura Sanada rushed to Xi Liang to defend the innocent people from slaughter... Chapter 8-X - Battle of Mikatagahara Narrator: After the Battle of Edo Castle, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei turned upon Orochi. Leading an army of their own, these two great warriors advanced with the unbending will of those wishing to atone for their past sins. In response, Orochi sent two of his most fierce and trusted officers to put down this insurrection. The first was the crafty Dong Zhuo, and the other... ...Was the most feared warrior of them all, the legendary Lu Bu... |

Wei Story Mode Story Chapters Chapter 1 - Battle of Kuzegawa Narrator: The legendary Serpent King Orochi descended from the heavens, and the world was transformed in an instant. Using his inhuman powers to warp time and space, he created a fusion between the Three Kingdoms era of China, and the Warring States period of Japan. He then tested his might against the heroes of these ages. Most of the great armies of these two periods fell to destruction before the might of Orochi. The news of the death of Cao Cao, Lord of Wei, was reported, and it was left to his son, Cao Pi, to take up the leadership of the clan. Hoping to control Wei himself, Orochi sent Da Ji, his strategist, to take the offer of an alliance to Cao Pi, which he accepted. Once this was signed, Da Ji employed Cao Pi to suppress any resistance to Orochi, in the name of maintaining law and order. Despite this, Cao Pi followed Da Ji's orders faithfully, never raising the slightest objection... Aftermath Scene - First Part - Cao Pi: Have the proud officers of Wu sunk to this? Huang Gai: Ha! You're one to talk, a slave to a snake! If I'm so pathetic, then come and finish me off! Cao Pi: I am a compassionate man. You may go. But next time, think carefully about how you want to attack. Huang Gai: You'll live to regret your arrogance... Next time you will feel my wrath! Second Part - Xu Zhu: Cao Pi... Forgive me, I was so hungry, I didn't know... Cao Pi: Enough. From now on, you will work for me. Xu Zhu: Hey, where's Lord Cao Cao? If he was here, he'd fix everything... Cao Pi: You are a simple man, aren't you? You think a hero can heal all this? But simplicity does have a way of winning the people's hearts. Your philosophy has a place. Chapter 2 - Battle of Tian Shui Narrator: The forces of Wei, led by Cao Pi, continued to faithfully follow Da Ji's orders, wiping out pockets of resistance wherever they arose. At the same time, however, he carefully made sure that Orochi's strength was being slowly diminished, through the release of officers such as Huang Gai of the Resistance at Kuzegawa. When Tian Shui was attacked by the Resistance led by Nobunaga Oda, it was again Cao Pi who was sent to suppress the rebellion. Knowing that there was no strategical advantage in seizing Tian Shui, and still unsure of Nobunaga's motives, Cao Pi proceeded to the battlefield... Prelude Scene - Da Ji: Why would Nobunaga attack now? Do you have any idea? Cao Pi: I wouldn't know... Da Ji: We don't have any hostages he would want to free. Perhaps there's someone here he wants to speak with, hmm? Cao Pi: I couldn't say. Aftermath Scene - First Part - Random Character Comment: Liu Bei: That man is a great leader where he hails from... What is your impression of him? Xiahou Dun: So that is Nobunaga, the man who calls himself the Demon King... What do you think of him? Xiaohou Yuan: So that's Nobunaga? Pretty mysterious guy, huh? Likes to keep to himself? Zhang Liao: The man Nobunaga... There is something about him. What think you of him, my lord? Sima Yi: So that is Nobunaga... Word of this man's name has spread quickly. Tell me, how do you perceive him? Xu Huang: That is the man known as Nobunaga. What do you see in him, my lord? Zhang He: My lord, what think you of that tall dark stranger they call Nobunaga? Zhen Ji: So that is Nobunaga... Interesting, don't you think, my lord? Cao Ren: I find the man they call Nobunaga somewhat disturbing in his calm composure. What is your impression, my lord? Sun Jian: So this is the so-called Demon King... What do you make of him, Cao Pi? Mitsunari Ishida: That is Nobunaga. What do you think? Cao Pi: He is not concerned with the battle at hand. He is fighting in a different dimension. And his vision is combined with an overwhelming arrogance. He is a man to watch. Random Character Response: Liu Bei: I do not see that, but I do see a resemblance to your father. Xiahou Dun: I agree. He must be cut down before he becomes a genuine obstacle to the progress of our lord... Xiaohou Yuan: ...I'm sorry, I wasn't listening. I was just thinking how much he looks like your dad... Zhang Liao: He is arrogant... But you yourself know arrogance and greatness often go hand in hand. Sima Yi: He seems a man receptive to all ideas, all possibilities. In that way, he reminds me of your father. Xu Huang: I see certain similarities between him and my lord Cao Cao. Perhaps he shares some of his greatness. Zhen Ji: You speak of him just as you speak of your own father, my lord. Zhang He: He has the same elegance I see in you, my lord. I wish to know more of him. Cao Ren: I, too, sense something in those eyes... Something uncomfortable, yet strangely familiar... Sun Jian: To tell the truth, he reminds me quite a bit of your father. Perhaps it's the moustache... Mitsunari Ishida: It's nice to see that even you think he's a bit creepy. Second Part - Da Ji: From now on, Cao Pi, I'm going to ask you and Mitsunari to work together. Cao Pi: So you wish to keep an eye on me. Da Ji: Not at all! It's just that... Well, you're both so brilliant, I thought it was a match made in heaven, is all. Cao Pi: But you have made a mistake. It is he who should be watched. Mitsunari Ishida: I'd rather be spied on all day than to have to spend my time with you. Da Ji: Like I said, a match made in heaven... Chapter 3 - Battle of Xia Kou Narrator: While making a name for himself as a faithful officer of Orochi by quelling the Resistance, Cao Pi released Huang Gai for a second time as he continued to covertly prepare an uprising against his master. Her suspicions aroused, Da Ji began to keep a closer eye on Cao Pi, and forced him to be accompanied by the antagonistic Mitsunari Ishida. Elsewhere, Sun Ce, the leader of Wu who had been coerced into fighting for Orochi due to the kidnapping of his father Sun Jian, suddenly rebelled against the Serpent King. Orochi ordered Sun Ce's brother Sun Quan to lead the Wu Army and put down his brother's insurgency. Cao Pi was instructed to aid Sun Quan in this task... Prelude Scene - Da Ji: So, Sun Quan, this is awkward, isn't it? Sun Quan: My brother has betrayed my father and myself. He has severed the ties between us. He is nothing to me now. Da Ji: Oh, I do love a man of conviction. You two could learn a thing or two from him. Cao Pi: Sun Ce's army is in disarray. His betrayal was not properly planned. Mitsunari Ishida: So you're saying that when your time comes, you'll do a better job? Da Ji: ... Aftermath Scene - Da Ji: Come, bring me Sun Ce. You did capture him, of course... Cao Pi: I'm afraid he escaped. Da Ji: That's not what it looked like from where I was standing... It looked more like he was allowed to escape. Cao Pi: And does that not seem a little too perfect to you? You are a smart woman. You must realize that it was an enemy plan to divide us in suspicion. Mitsunari Ishida: It's probably Zhou Yu's doing. He's smart enough to have used an impostor and made it seem that way to you. Da Ji: Of course, of course... How foolish of me not to see something so obvious... Chapter 4 - Battle of Yi Ling Narrator: Enemies at first sight, Cao Pi and Mitsunari Ishida had begun to see each other in a new light. After allowing Sun Ce to escape, Cao Pi was saved from incurring Da Ji's wrath by the quick thinking of Mitsunari. A strange and uneasy friendship had begun to develop... As for Cao Pi's own rebellion, there was one more element required before he could put his plans in place. Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan, loyal to the province of Wei, had refused to join Cao Pi in his subordination to Orochi, and were fighting with the Resistance. With the intention of winning their trust, Cao Pi set out to battle them at Yi Ling... Prelude Scene - Mitsunari Ishida: Those two... They used to serve Cao Pi's father, didn't they? It seems they are here to see if he is a worthy leader. Xu Zhu: They don't like Cao Pi. But if Cao Pi can bring us all lots of delicious food like Cao Cao used to, then I'll be happy! Random Character Comment: Zhuge Liang: They wish to put Cao Pi to the test, the only way they know how - by facing him in battle. And for his part, Cao Pi will welcome this opportunity to prove his worth. Jiang Wei: Cao Cao and Cao Pi on the scales... I believe they may tilt in favor of the younger man... Yue Ying: They need to find for themselves whether or not he is a man they can follow. Xing Cai: Cao Pi too faces the pressure of living up to a great father. But I know he will overcome it. Sima Yi: They've come to compare Cao Pi to Cao Cao, for battle is the only standard by which such men can be measured. Zhen Ji: Such temerity... I just hope for their sakes they make it out alive. Pang De: The day comes for all fathers when they must cede to their sons. This may be that day... Zhou Yu: Hmm. Will he be outshone, or will he put his father into shadow? This is the true test of the man. Lu Xun: I believe his star is on the rise. One day he will be greater than his father. But I wonder what they will see in him. Lu Meng: They may be shocked at how he has grown. They say adversity makes a man. Zuo Ci: Father and son cannot be so easily compared... They must allow him to lead his own life. Judge him as his own man. Nobunaga Oda: The son is to be tested by his father's followers... I'm sure he'll be delighted... Kunoichi: There's only one way to convince these guys that they can trust him. By pounding the hell out of 'em! No: The measure of a man is in the way he handles his sword, you say? Yes, I suppose it is... Hideyoshi Toyotomi: Cao Pi isn't even flustered! Well, there's their answer right there! Mitsunari Ishida: Everyone wants to compare him to his father, but he doesn't care. We'll soon find out who's the greater... Sakon Shima: I have a feeling I know who's going to come out on top in that battle. Aftermath Scene - First Part - Xiahou Dun: No man could ever match my lord... But you seem to have your own sense of honor... Xiahou Yuan: And you have a plan, right? I mean, I think you do, but it's always kinda hard to tell... Pang Tong: It may not be easy to grasp, but I'd say they're each paying you a very high compliment. And to tell the truth, I think you're quite the dandy myself. So if you care to have yet another pair of helping hands, well... Cao Pi: I know not whether you follow me out of loyalty to my father, or curiosity. But I have no reason to reject capable officers. Second Part - Da Ji: Cao Pi is gathering followers again, I see. But I fear this army is not being built to preserve the glory of Orochi... Still, this is all coming a little quicker than I had imagined... Chapter 5 - Battle of Odawara Castle Narrator: The time was ripe... With these two warriors on his side, Cao Pi's preparations were complete. He leaked the false rumor that Sun Jian was being held in Da Ji's Odawara Castle in order to encourage Huang Gai and his army to attack... While at the same time, heading for the main keep to capture the increasingly suspicious Da Ji himself... Aftermath Scene - First Part - Da Ji: I guess you were just too good for me... So, what is it you want from me now? Cao Pi: I want you to help us. Surely you're not content just working for Orochi either. Da Ji: Are you sure? Orochi is powerful beyond your dreams... You don't want to make him any angrier than he already is... Random Character Comment: Guan Yu: Strength does not come from persecuting the weak and defenseless. A true warrior is one who challenges and defeats the truly strong. Xing Cai: I know he is strong. But he is not invincible. Defeating this evil is the only way forward! Cao Cao: I feel sorry for him. He does not yet know the true joy of battle - the thrill of overcoming insurmountable odds. Zhang Liao: It is the proudest moment for any warrior to face one of his might. I do not fear it; I welcome it! Xu Huang: Once we defeat him, we will be the true masters of war. We cannot allow this opportunity to pass! Zhen Ji: You can feel free to stay cowering by his side. I intend to slay him, and bring glory to our name. Cao Pi: I grow weary of merely crushing an inferior enemy. War with Orochi - now that would be a challenge. Gan Ning: Only makes it more worth my while! There's no point picking on a little wimp. Lu Bu: I've wasted enough time fighting lowly pawns... Orochi is the only opponent worthy of me now. Dong Zhuo: He'd just better not make me angrier than I am right now. Mitsuhide Akechi: Our battle with this demon will go down in history. Do you not wuish to claim your own glory? Mitsunari Ishida: I've never backed down from a fight in my life. I'm not about to start now. Kotaro Fuma: Then it will be all the more satisfying when we devour him whole. Da Ji: Oh, absolutely. The prospect excites me too. I'm not going to let you have him all to yourself. Second Part - Huang Gai: You have now spared my life on three occasions. Without you, I would be nothing, so now I pledge to you my service. I know I could be of use. Please, allow me to serve in your army. Cao Pi: You are a man of honor, and I will be glad to have your service. Chapter 6 - Battle of Chen Cang Narrator: Now was the time for Cao Pi to openly make his move. Having captured Da Ji and secured her services for himself, he declared Wei's independence from Orochi. All the while, he continued to strengthen his own army in preparation for the inevitable clash with Orochi himself. He made for Chen Cang, where waited the army of Nagamasa Azai. If he could defeat them, they would make an invaluable addition to his army... Aftermath Scene - Nagamasa Azai: A defeated soldier deserves death alone. Allow me to die in dignity. Oichi: I wish to share the same fate as my lord. Gan Ning: I was really gonna teach that snake a lesson! Come on, then, what're you gonna do? Kill me? Huh? Cao Pi: You all desire death, do you? How appropriate. I am about to embark upon a quest to topple Orochi. You shall join me, and if you must die, it will be as part of that quest. Chapter 7 - Battle of Yamazaki Narrator: Cao Pi had finally accumulated the military strength he needed. Taking his plan to the next step, he moved his army into Orochi's territory, to the key outpost of Yamazaki. Waiting for him there was the combined guile of the two great strategists Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi. Cao Pi was also concerned by the increasingly suspicious behavior of Da Ji... Prelude Scene - Mitsunari Ishida: The enemy ranks feature the two great strategists of your age. This could be a problem. Cao Pi: Sima Yi and Zhuge Liang have joined forces...? This will be entertaining. Mitsunari Ishida: You're not easily deterred, are you? Cao Pi: Like my father, I enjoy a challenge. Who knows, the lure of this battle might be enough to bring him back from beyond the grave. Mitsunari Ishida: Perhaps so. Aftermath Scene - Cao Pi: Father. You live, after all. Cao Cao: You fought well, my son. Cao Pi: If you so desire, I wil gladly relinquish control of this army to you. Cao Cao: This army belongs to you. You must continue as its leader. Dian Wei: I will fight alongside my lord. You can count on me to wreak some havoc! Chapter 8 - Battle of Koshi Castle Narrator: The return of Cao Cao was the ingredient needed to reinspire the soldiers of Wei. Pursuing the fleeing Da Ji, Cao Pi managed to discover Orochi's secret lair, Koshi Castle. Cao Pi's long and patient strategy was finally beginning to bear fruit. The Wei Army pressed forward to Koshi Castle for the ultimate showdown with the Serpent King... Side Story Chapters Chapter 2-X - Invasion of Nan Zhong Narrator: Many of the officers of Wei were far from happy to be used as Orochi's puppets under the name of an alliance. One officer in particular, Zhang He, began to feel increasingly discontented with the situation. Requested to suppress the Resistance in the south, he accompanied Cao Pi to Nan Zhong. The battle was progressing smoothly until Zhang He suddenly stopped fighting... Chapter 3-X - Conquest of Ji Province Narrator: While small in number, the ninja troop led by Nene had managed to maintain its independence. As the Orochi Army cut down each and every resistance to its domination, the unpredictable ninjas continued to give them headaches. Infuriated by this setback, Orochi finally sent the crafty Dong Zhuo to deal with this ninja troop. Gathering his forces, Dong Zhuo advanced upon their camp in Ji Province... Chapter 4-X - Battle of Saika Narrator: Under the leadership of great warriors such as Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi, the Resistance forces had begun to grow in strength. Hearing that the Resistance were using a base in the Saika Territory, Cao Pi ordered Zhang Liao to investigate. Zhang Liao's scouts reported that it was being used as a base camp for a minor Resistance force. It was decided that immediate suppression was necessary. With the military might at Zhang Liao's disposal, it should not have taken long... Chapter 5-X - Battle of the Five Gates Narrator: Following her beloved Lu Bu, Diao Chan had joined the Orochi Army. Unhappy, however, and increasingly disillusioned with the direction Lu Bu was taking, she eventually chose to defect. She decided that the best way to make Lu Bu see his own folly was to join the Coalition Army and defeat Orochi. Hearing of her flight, however, an incensed Dong Zhuo immediately began pursuit. But Diao Chan found aid in the form of Mitsunari Ishida, who challenged Dong Zhuo to allow her to escape... Chapter 6-X - Battle of Liang Province Narrator: By declaring Wei's independence, Cao Pi officially turned his back on Orochi. In response, Cao Pi's wife Zhen Ji followed suit, leading an army to Liang Province. Anticipating this, Orochi immediately dispatched a force headed by Dong Zhuo to eradicate this resistance. Cao Pi also set out in order to rescue his wife. The two forces were destined for a momentous clash on the fields of Liang Province... Chapter 7-X - Struggle for Nan Zhong Narrator: As Cao Pi secured a series of significant victories over the Orochi Army, his own army began to grow until it rivaled Orochi's in size. He then ordered Nagamasa Azai to lay siege to the key outpost of Nan Zhong in the south. But what Nagamasa saw when he arrived was a mysterious army of unknown origin engaged in battle with Orochi... Chapter 8-X - Battle of He Fei Castle Narrator: Cao Cao was alive... The Wei Army was overjoyed to witness his triumphant return. Enraged beyond measure, the Serpent King challenged Wei to a battle to end all battles. He employed his most mighty warriors, including the legendary Lu Bu, for this battle. With Cao Cao back at the helm, the Wei Army also began the preparations for the ultimate test of their strength... |

Wu Story Mode Story Chapters Chapter 1 - Battle of Mt. Ding Jun Narrator: The Serpent King Orochi used his demonic strength to bend time and space, and create a new world on a mysterious astral plane. He then gathered together the strongest, wisest and bravest warriors from the Three Kingdoms era of China and the Warring States period of Japan, to test their might against his own. Having been defeated by Orochi, the forces of Wu lost many of their officers, including their leader Sun Jian, to Orochi as prisoners-of-war. Orochi then forced Sun Jian's son Sun Ce into suppressing the Resistance Army that had sprung up to fight Orochi, on pain of the execution of his father. As fate would have it, Ma Chao had led the Resistance forces to Mt. Ding Jun, from where they would launch their campaign against Orochi. In order to save the people of Wu, Sun Ce was forced into a battle that went against his better instincts, a battle to suppress the brave rebels... Aftermath Scene - Zhou Yu: Thank you, my lord, I owe you my freedom. I know you must be torn apart by the situation you find yourself in... But you must walk the path in which you believe. And know that I will be beside you all the way. Chapter 2 - Battle of Chang Ban Narrator: Having succeeded in the subjugation of Ma Chao's Resistance, Sun Ce was rewarded as promised with the release of his friend and ally Zhou Yu. Soon, another directive arrived from their cruel overlord, this time ordering them to wipe out another pocket of resistance in Chang Ban. This time the Resistance Army was centered around Lu Xun, Gan Ning and Ling Tong, all officers of Wu. This was a test devised by Orochi's strategist Da Ji, to measure Sun Ce's loyalty by forcing him to fight against his former allies... Prelude Scene - First Random Character Comment: Zhou Yu: Beware, my lord. That is Da Ji, a cunning and cruel woman, and Orochi's strategist. She will belittle and demean you, as is her way. You must not rise to her challenge. Lu Meng: That is Orochi's partner in crime, Da Ji. Do not be fooled by her appearance. She is as devious and as cruel as they come. She will test you by insulting you and your family name. You must check the impulse to rise up against her. There are lives at stake. Kunoichi: Look out boys! here comes a real foxy lady - Orochi's right-hand gal, Da Ji! She's cruel, she's crafty, and she left the house this morning without any pants! So steer clear... there's no telling what she'll do next! Kanetsugu Naoe: That is Da Ji, Orochi's trusted lieutenant. She is a cruel woman, for whom the end always justifies the means. She will test you with her wiles... You must check yourself, and not rise to her petty challenge. Da Ji: It seems your old friends are misbehaving. Exterminate them for me, will you? Sun Ce: My friends... You mean the men of Wu? ...Come on, that's not fair...! Second Random Character Comment: Zhao Yun: I feel for you. To battle one's own compatriots is akin to cutting into one's own flesh. Jiang Wei: It seems your reunion with your men will not be a happy one. Yue Ying: I sympathize... Forced into battle against your dearest friends... Guan Ping: The ultimate trial... Whether or not to fight against one's own. I can almost feel your pain. Xiahou Yuan: Fighting your closest friends... I guess it wouldn't help if I told you to forget about it and have fun... Zhang Jiao: I know it must be hard for you to raise your weapons against a friend, but this is a test from the heavens. Mitsuhide Akechi: Friends are transformed to foes... A cruel fate even in this time of turmoil. Ranmaru Mori: I can only imagine what pain you must be suffering, my lord. Crossing swords with one's own people is the most painful thing you may ever have to do. Ina: A battle against your friends awaits - your legs must be heavy indeed. Nagamasa Azai: This battle is too painful for you. You should leave everything to us. Musashi Miyamoto: I get it. There's no way you could ever fight against your pals, right? That's tough, man. Sun Ce: Oh well, I guess it doesn't bear thinking about really... Plus, at least I can be sure they'll put up a decent fight! Aftermath Scene - Taishi Ci: My lord, I cannot thank you enough. You always think of others, even in this time of crisis. I am ready to share your burden. My weapon is at your service! Chapter 3 - Battle of Odani Castle Narrator: Once again, Sun Ce had delivered on his promise to Orochi, and Taishi Ci was released in return. No sooner had Sun Ce returned to camp, when another message arrived from Da Ji, ordering the suppression of the Resistance in Odani Castle. This force was led by Xing Cai, with assistance from Gan Ning and Ling Tong, both of whom had fled from Chang Ban. Just as Sun Ce was about to set off for Odani, he received a letter from Sakon Shima, whom he had encountered at Chang Ban... Prelude Scene - Sun Ce: I've got this letter from that guy Sakon we came across before... What do you think? Random Character Comment: Zhou Yu: He has some information concerning Lord Sun Jian that he wants to give you personally... He wants a meeting at Odani. Lu Xun: He says he has some information for you, and he wants to meet at Odani... Sima Yi: "I have information about Sun Jian. Join with me during the assault on Odani..." Pang De: He has certain information about Sun Jian which he will give you at Odani. Oichi: It seems he wants to meet with you at Odani to discuss the whereabouts of your father. Ranmaru Mori: He has information concerning Lord Sun Jian?! And he wants to meet with you at Odani? Mitsunari Ishida: He wants a face-to-face meeting at Odani. He says he has information concerning your father. Sun Ce: There's something about him I like. Something that makes me want to trust him. Random Character Response: Zhou Yu: You are an excellent judge of character, my lord. I can vouch for that. Lu Xun: I would never doubt your instincts, my lord. I'm sure he will be of great worth to our army. Sima Yi: Perhaps we can, perhaps not. Either way, we should assume that we may be walking into a trap. Pang De: You must trust your instincts, and follow your code. It is all you can do. Oichi: If you are so sure, then I have no reason to doubt your conviction. Ranmaru Mori: The decision is yours, my lord, but I will protect you come thick or thin! Mitsunari Ishida: Oh, it'd be worth meeting with him, you can count on that. Taishi Ci: My lord, that is Odani Castle, where the Resistance is based. It appears Lord Sakon has not yet arrived... Sun Ce: Oh... Well then, I guess we have no choice but to follow the orders of our benevolent mistress, and take down the castle. Aftermath Scene - First Part- Lu Meng: I have shamed my family and my lord with my capture. Please forgive me! For too long I have been unable to fulfill my duty as a vassal. But from now on I intend to make up for that lost time. Second Part - Sakon Shima: Let's get down to business. Your father is being held prisoner in Osaka Castle. If you'd like, I could show you the way. But, you probably don't need me... Sun Ce: Please, lead us there! I have to save my father, but the geography of this place... it's pretty weird... Sakon Shina: A little honesty, that's very refreshing. I'd be glad to lead you there. Chapter 4 - Battle of Osaka Castle Narrator: Sun Ce could wait no longer to make his move. With the information of his father's whereabouts gleaned from his new ally Sakon, there was nothing left to keep him loyal to Orochi. He decided to defect from the army of the Serpent King. With a small band of loyal retainers, he set off to sneak into Osaka Castle, where Sun Jian was being held... Prelude Scene - Random Character Comment: Guan Yu: I see life has returned to your eyes! Fighting for Orochi is nothing but a surrender, and now you have chosen to fight! Ma Chao: There is no need for you to be involved in Orochi's evilness any longer! My lord, your suffering has been worthwhile after all! Wei Yan: You... fight... snake...? Taishi Ci: My lord, isn't the air sweet now that we are free of Orochi's rule! Lu Meng: My lord, we are bound by Orochi's treachery no longer! We have our freedom, and now we must bring liberty to the rest of our clan! Da Qiao: You're back, aren't you? We don't have to bow to that awful Orochi anymore? Diao Chan: It is almost as if you have been reborn since your time serving Orochi... Freedom is indeed a wonderful thing! Keiji Maeda: So, you've had enough of snake-face, huh? Good for you! Magoichi Saika: I don't make a habit of praising men... But you deserve it, for getting away from that monster. Ina: Now that you are released from Orochi's clutches, you seem to have a new lease on life. Sakon Shima: You look revitalized. I guess it's being free of the snake, huh? Ginchiyo Tachibana: Free of Orochi, you have regained your pride as a warrior! Sun Ce: Absolutely! I've done enough kowtowing to a snake to last me a lifetime! From now on, I'm running my own life! And that starts with saving my father! Chapter 5 - Battle of Sekigahara Narrator: The failure to rescue Sun Jian from Osaka Castle had severely damaged the morale of the soldiers of Wu. The recapture of Sun Jian meant that his children Sun Quan and Sun Shang Xiang were obliged to continue their service to the Orochi Army. Sun Ce was declared a traitor, and the task of his punishment fell to his brother, Sun Quan. With the interests of Wu uppermost in his mind, Sun Quan pursued his brother as far as Sekigahara, where he finally had him surrounded... Prelude Scene - Sun Ce: Quan, Shang Xiang... I never thought the three of us would meet like this... Sun Shang Xiang: You...! You could have got us all killed! Father could already be dead! How could you!? Sun Ce: Hang on, I can explain. I know what I'm doing... Sun Quan: If you really knew what you were doing, you would be prudent, and wait for your moment. You would not risk the lives of those you are supposed to love! Wu needs you, above all, to support us in our hour of need. But you run, like a coward. And you turn your back on what is right for your own selfish desires! Sun Ce: ...You're right. Sometimes I just can't see the big picture, but you can, Quan... It's true that I couldn't take working for that snake any longer. Sun Shang Xiang: Because you couldn't take it any more!? Do you think we like this!? We do it because we have to...! Sun Ce: But I also needed to rescue Father as soon as I possibly could! And now, I can't go back... Sun Quan: Then you know that you leave us no choice. Sun Ce: I see... Then come, show your brother how you both have grown! Chapter 6 - Battle of He Fei Narrator: Following the Battle of Sekigahara, Sun Ce was reunited with his sister Sun Shang Xiang, and they joined forces in their quest to defeat Orochi. Their brother Sun Quan, however, was unable to conceal his rage at Sun Ce for his selfishness which he believed had placed the entire Wu clan in peril. Aware of this growing animosity, Orochi sent Sun Quan after his brother once more. Supported by hardened veterans such as Keiji Maeda and Cao Ren, Sun Quan set out to face his brother at He Fei... Prelude Scene - Ranmaru Mori: I have fought alongside Sun Ce for some time now, but I still cannot fathom how he thinks... It's almost as if he is looking forward to battling his own brother. Random Character Comment: Zhou Yu: This is an opportunity for him, not a crisis. He can finally judge for himself how his brother has grown. This way, when they eventually defeat this cruel overlord, the bonds between them will have grown stronger still. Lu Xun: There is unknowable strength in their brotherly bonds. Our lord is happy for the opportunity to test his brother in battle. True competition will bring out the best in them both. I see bright things in Wu's future! Taishi Ci: The brothers have trained together their whole lives, but this is their first chance to face each other on the actual field of battle. This is a happy moment, if you look at it positively. Lu Meng: Sun Quan represents the future of Wu. My lord is pleased to have an opportunity to check that it is in good hands. But deep down he knows that his brother has already grown great. Perhaps that is the reason for his smile. Gan Ning: It's a full-on, no-holds-barred brawl, kid! There's nothing sweeter! And it's only by scrapping with someone that you really know who they are. This is a good thing, trust me. Huang Gai: Sun Ce is testing his brother's mettle. So like him to find meaning in the most difficult of moments... The brothers know and trust each other... They share the greatness of their great father. Da Qiao: They may be enemies for now, but I think he enjoys pitting his skills against his brother, and seeing how he's grown. The bond between those two won't be easily broken. And any breaks will be mended, I'm sure. Xiao Qiao: Sun Ce looks really happy. I guess he's just glad he can see his brother, even if they are enemies. War just doesn't matter to them. Me and my sister are exactly the same. Zhou Tai: The battle will only strengthen their bonds. Ling Tong: Why wouldn't he? There's nothing like a genuine match-up with your brother, and it doesn't get more genuine than this! Don't worry... I got a feeling it'll all turn out for the best. Ranmaru Mori: I see... But I still don't quite understand... Aftermath Scene - Lu Meng: Zhou Tai reports that your brother has continued to be blackmailed by Orochi into fighting for him, with your father's life as the stakes. Just as I suspected, his heart was never in his battle with you, my lord. Sun Ce: I know how he must be struggling with his burden. Zhou Tai, fight with me, and we will win him over to our side! Zhou Tai: I wish for nothing else. Chapter 7 - Battle of Komaki-Nagakute Narrator: After his defeat at He Fei, Sun Quan returned to Orochi, aware that he would be heavily punished for his repeated failures to subdue his brother's rebellion. The news filtered through to Sun Ce that both his brother and his father would soon be executed. The executions were to take place at Komaki-Nagakute, under the directions of Dong Zhuo and Da Ji. In a last desperate attempt to save his father and brother, Sun Ce hastily assembled an army and set off... Prelude Scene - Random Character Comment: Liu Bei: He has returned to Orochi... Why would he not flee? It is plain to see that he will be held accountable for the events at He Fei. Perhaps he has chosen death. Perhaps he wishes his brother to bear the mantle of the future of Wu. Cao Cao: Sun Quan returned to his master after his defeat, to take his punishment. Which means he returns to face certain death. It seems he has entrusted the future of Wu to you. Masamune Date: I know he crashed and burned spectacularly at He Fei, and has to take the heat for what happened there... But for Sun Quan to go back to Orochi... Surely he knows he's signing his own death warrant... You means he's doing it to unify Wu under your rule? Who's that going to help? Ranmaru Mori: Why did your brother not escape? Why would he return to Orochi? Surely he knows that he faces certain death. He will be blamed for the defeat at He Fei... Perhaps he wants to die... To die and leave the future of Wu in your hands, my lord. Ieyasu Tokugawa: After the Battle of He Fei, Sun Quan returned to his master, Orochi. But death is the only thing which awaits him there. A tyrant will always find a scapegoat. I believe he has chosen his path for the greater good. He has chosen death, and in so doing has placed the future of Wu in your hands, Sun Ce. Sun Ce: Ha! Don't worry, plans are already in place to save him, and to rescue my father! Hanzo Hattori: Both father and son have escaped the gallows. Sun Ce: Excellent work, you two! This is the best news I've heard in a long time! Sun Shang Xiang: I never thought it would pay off to have experience working for Orochi. But I was able to describe to Hanzo where Father was being held, and... And he set him free! Oh, thank you so much! Hanzo Hattori: Mission complete... Sun Ce: All that's left is to reunite with my father, and then our family will be back together at last! Aftermath Scene - Random Character Comment: Zhou Yu: You see, just as I said. The bond between the brothers is stronger than ever, thanks to the trials they have been through. Lu Xun: You see, they both knew each other's limits, and now they have ben reunited. Perhaps you sense the strength of their trust? Taishi Ci: See, it was tough for them, but they got through it, because there was trust there. Lu Meng: So, young man, do you understand the way of the men of Wu by now? Gan Ning: You get it now, boy? You see how strong they are? Huang Gai: Do you see what I mean now? Their brotherly bonds were too strong for their rivalry to last. Da Qiao: Perhaps you understand now, Ranmaru? Do you see the strength of their bond? Xiao Qiao: You understand how we think now? Zhou Tai: Do you understand Wu now? Ling Tong: Lighten up, man. It all turned out okay. You starting to get how their family works now? Ranmaru Mori: I can see now that Sun Ce's unpredictability and Sun Quan's stubbornness were not merely whims, but were out of consideration for the future of Wu. I think I can finally see why it is that so many great warriors are willing to be led by them. Chapter 8 - Battle of Koshi Castle Narrator: Sun Ce's glorious victory had reunited his family at last. Neither Orochi's terrible strength nor the trying circumstances they were forced into could break the bonds that bound the Sun family. Together again, they marched upon Orochi's Koshi Castle, desiring only to show the Serpent King the true strength of their unity. The final battle was about to begin... Side Story Chapters Chapter 2-X - Battle of Chang Shan Narrator: Sun Ce continued to suppress the various rebellions that arose across the land under the threat of the execution of his father and allies. He based himself in Chang Shan while he reorganized his forces in preparation for the next battle. Suddenly, a Resistance Army led by Mitsuhide Akechi appeared, seizing the storehouses of Chang Shan before Sun Ce could organize any defense. Deprived of supplies, Sun Ce's army knew they could not fight. It became imperative to reclaim the storehouses as quickly as possible... Chapter 3-X - Battle of Jian Ye Castle Narrator: Thanks to information provided by Sakon Shima, Sun Ce finally discovered where his father was being incarcerated. Learning that Sakon had arrived under orders from Nobunaga Oda, Sun Ce decided to repay this debt. Nobunaga's wife, Lady No, was being held by the Orochi Army in Jian Ye Castle. Sun Ce sent Lu Meng and Taishi Ci on a mission to rescue her... Chapter 4-X - Battle of Wan Castle Narrator: Ieyasu Tokugawa, who had accompanied Sun Ce in his travails, defected from Orochi's forces at the same time as Sun Ce. Since then, he had been offering aid to the various Resistance Armies fighting against Orochi's rule. When he arrived in response to a distress call from Wan Castle, he found it already in flames after an attack from the Orochi Army. As soldiers and citizens panicked and fled, Ieyasu plunged bravely into the inferno to rescue as many as he could... Chapter 5-X - Battle of Anegawa Narrator: Even after Sun Ce had defected from the Orochi Army, his wife Da Qiao remained within the Serpent King's fold. Her husband had requested her to give his brother the support he needed to lead the forces of Wu, still fighting for the enemy. Realizing her true motivations, however, Orochi turned upon her as a traitor to his cause. Hearing of his wife's desperate plight, Sun Ce immediately sprang to her aid... Chapter 6-X - Battle of Osaka Bay Narrator: A letter arrived for Sun Ce. It was a challenge, issued by Keiji Maeda. One of Orochi's most trusted officers, Keiji was an unpredictable maverick, who had publicly declared his respect and admiration for his master. Lu Meng was sent to Osaka Bay to find out where Keiji's true loyalties lay... Chapter 7-X - Battle of Ji Province Narrator: Sun Ce became privy to information that the Orochi Army were marching on the altar in Ji Province. This altar was an extremely holy and powerful place. Losing it to Orochi would have dire consequences. Lu Meng set out to defend the altar. But when he arrived, he did not find the Orochi Army, but instead another terrible warrior standing guard... Chapter 8-X - Battle of Chi Bi Narrator: With the Sun family together again, the time was ripe for the final showdown with the Orochi Army. In preparation for this, Orochi had gathered every soldier at his disposal to the cliffs of Chi Bi. If this mighty army could be broken, then the groundwork would have been laid for the decisive battle to come. Ieyasu and Sakon advanced their army into Chi Bi in an attempt to wipe out the masses of the Orochi Army... |

Samurai Story Mode Story Chapters Chapter 1 - Battle of Jing Province Narrator: A mighty demon descended to earth, bringing with him untold confusion. He warped time and space, creating a new world populated by the greatest heroes of Japanese and Chinese history. He then proceeded to amuse himself by challenging and destroying every force that stood against him. But he was not yet finished... he was waiting - waiting for one worthy of challenging him to appear. This demon was named Orochi... Another demon watched all this happen, and decided that it was his role to gather together enough brave warriors to defeat Orochi. This was the man known as the Demon King, Nobunaga Oda... Aftermath Scene - First Part - Guan Ping: I owe you my life, so my life is now in your service. I am Guan Ping, son of Guan Yu. Nobunaga Oda: Have you got what it takes to stay alive? Guan Ping: ...Yes, sir! Of course! Second Part - Huang Zhong: My name is Huang Zhong, and I am- ... Wait a minute. Are you sure you're not related to Cao Cao? Nobunaga Oda: Who? Huang Zhong: You know, the Hero of Chaos? Tall, beard like yours? No? Hmm, you're a dead ringer, though... They say he died... But there are some who claim they saw him at a temple... Honnoji, I think it was called. And he's just the sort of man who would circulate a rumor of his own death if he thought it would give him an advantage. Nobunaga Oda: If he is really so like myself, then he will not waste time with any such chicanery... Lead me to him, old man. I am curious as to who can control this departed hero. Chapter 2 - Battle of Honnoji Narrator: It was reported that in the initial battle against Orochi, Cao Cao, Lord of Wei, had been killed. However, Nobunaga received some very interesting information concerning Cao Cao's whereabouts from Huang Zhong... It seemed that he was not dead, but was living concealed in Honnoji. By the time Nobunaga arrived, however, Honnoji was surrounded by the forces of the Orochi Army... Prelude Scene - Nobunaga Oda: Cao Cao seems to have the power to move his men even from beyond the grave... This moment must not be squandered. Encircle, eviscerate and extirpate the odious ophidian! Random Character Comment: Zhang Fei: Are you feeling all right? I got a good home remedy for that - take one large meat cleaver, stick out your tongue... Huang Zhong: ...I just can't keep up with the language of young people these days... Wei Yan: Hmm... Xu Zhu: Uhh, ha, ha, yeah... That's funny, yeah... Dian Wei: Umm, was that some mysterious eastern language? Gan Ning: What did you just call me? Huh? Xiao Qiao: Wow... You use some really long words. Is that so no one else understands you? Lu Bu: Your long-winded explanations give me a headache. Make sure you keep your mouth shut on the battlefield! Dong Zhuo: Get to the point, you raving madman! You're putting me to sleep! Yuan Shao: Ah, yes... I agree entirely, of course. I like the cut of your jib, my friend. Meng Huo: That's a lot of long words there... If you weren't on my side, I'd be smashing you by now... Goemon Ishikawa: Whazza? I don't understand what you're saying, but I get what you mean! Uh, I think! Okuni: Are you using all those big words just to impress me...? How adorable! Magoichi Saika: Y'know, the ladies don't like a guy they can't understand. Musashi Miyamoto: That is so true. I think. Aftermath Scene - Xiahou Dun: You are a dangerous man... But you will never match my lord! Nobunaga Oda: You waste your time in searching for the dead... You do not see your lord's intentions... Xiahou Dun: I'd like to stay and teach you a lesson right now... But the "dead" won't find themselves. I'll save the pleasure of finishing your miserable life for later... if you make it... Random Character Comment: Zhao Yun: I bring a hostage before you. Jiang Wei: What should I do with this enemy soldier we have captured? Guan Ping: My lord, I bring a treacherous officer of the enemy forces before you. Zhang Liao: I bring one of the enemy scum before you. Cao Ren: My lord, I bring an enemy officer. Nagamasa Azai: What shall be done with this hostage? Nobunaga Oda: So, does the Kingdom of Wu have any fight left in it... Or will you all just descend meekly into hell? Sun Shang Xiang; What... What are you saying? Nobunaga Oda: Take a long look at yourself, and you will see what I mean... Release the prisoners! Random Character Response: Zhao Yun: You do not want her as a hostage? Then, pray tell, what exactly have we gained from this battle? Jiang Wei: I am afraid the troops will not be happy with this decision. No hostages, no reinforcements - to what end where they fighting? Guan Ping: But my lord, with no prisoners, what was this battle for? Did we fight in vain?! Zhang Liao: But she deserved to die! How can you release her?! Cao Ren: But, my lord, with no hostages, the battle has been nothing but a waste of resources... Nagamasa Azai: But then we have fought for nothing. We should at least take prisoners. They may be useful. Nobunaga Oda: We will see... Chapter 3 - Battle of Kyushu Narrator: With Orochi holding control over almost the entire territory of his new world, those forces that remained outside his influence were scattered and factionalized. Chief among these were the six disparate forces led respectively by Zhao Yun, Lu Xun, Xiahou Dun, Shingen Takeda, Kenshin Uesugi, and Nobunaga himself. Each of these officers was attempting to expand and fortify their armies, so that they could prevent Orochi from subjugating or eliminating them. For his part, Nobunaga had identified some independent forces in Kyushu as potential reinforcements for his own army... Prelude Scene - Random Character Comment: Zhao Yun: All across the land, the most valuable and experienced officers of every army are being taken by force, and made to fight for Orochi. We must do something to stop this state of affairs from worsening, put some plan in place! Guan Ping: I have heard rumor that Orochi has captured talented officers from far and wide to use in his infernal army. His forces grow in number every day. Surely the time has come when we must do something about this! Zhang Liao: Orochi knows how to build an army. He is selecting the very best to fill his ranks. We must follow suit, and create a worthy force before it is too late. Sun Quan: Orochi is cunning. He has captured a numbr of worthy officers to use as his slaves. His army far outnumbers ours. We must do something soon, before the moment to strike is past. Masamune Date: Orochi's going around capturing key officers from all over the land, and making them fight for him. If we don't do something to stop him, we're gonna be in big trouble. Nagamasa Azai: My lord, Orochi continues to expand his army with new recruits. It is only a matter of time before we are swallowed up. We too must recruit! Nobunaga Oda: You do not see beyond the surface... I see all. Random Character Response: Zhao Yun: Very good, sir. I will endeavor to grasp a wider perspective in time. I just wanted to know that you were aware of the situation. Guan Ping: ...I am a practical man, my lord, but I know that the enemies and weapons I do see are real enough! Zhang Liao: This is a test, yes? Then I will find the answer in the next battle. Sun Quan: ...So you have a plan? Then tell me, how do we deal with the enemy soldiers who face us now? Masamune Date: Please forgive me, I spoke out of turn. I will make amends for my rudeness on the battlefield. Nagamasa Azai: It is true that I cannot see what you see. I am concerned, because all I see now is death. Aftermath Scene - First Part - Sakon Shima: I won't admit defeat. I'm just... in an unfortunate situation, is all... Nobunaga Oda: The situation...? Your situation, is at my feet, is it not? Sakon Shima: If they'd just let me do things my way... Nobunaga Oda: Very well. I shall grant you an opportunity to demonstrate your strategical genius... Second Part - Okuni: Those eyes... Such depth, such evil... How exciting! Zhang Jiao: This is a test of my faith... I must accept this humiliation for now. Xiao Qiao: I give up, I give up. Just don't hurt me anymore, okay? Nobunaga Oda: Have no fear... Your live are all in my hands... Third Part - Random Character Comment: Guan Ping: I hear from a reliable source that Lord Kenshin too is preparing his forces for battle with Orochi... And that Lord Shingen has a similar plan. My lord, does it not seem prudent to join forces with them? Zhen Ji: It seems Kanetsugu and his master plan on fighting Orochi too... With his help, and Shingen's, there could be light on the horizon. Ling Tong: The guy with the crazy helmet, you know, the one who works for Kenshin, he said they're ready to tackle Orochi too. And I heard Shingen's up for it too. Whaddaya reckon, we all team up? Mitsuhide Akechi: Kenshin also has his men recruiting officers. It seems he too is preparing for war. Might I suggest the option of drawing up an alliance with him and Shingen... No: Kenshin seems awfully desperate... Recruiting soldiers to fight against Orochi... Shingen seems keen, too. I know it goes against your principles, but you might consider teaming up... Nagamasa Azai: Kanetsugu is desperately recruiting any he can for his army. They aim to take down Orochi. The Takeda Army is doing the same. We should join hands with these two forces! Nobunaga Oda: That will not be necessary. Random Character Response: Guan Ping: ...I see. Zhen Ji: That is unfortunate... Ling Tong: ...Well, excuse me. Mitsuhide Akechi: Of course. No: ...I just thought it might be fun, that's all... Nagamasa Azai: I apologize for my impudence. It was inappropriate. Chapter 4 - Battle of Tong Gate Narrator: Wu, one of the Three Kingdoms of ancient China, had had their leader Sun Jian kidnapped by Orochi, and as a result had been forced into serving the Serpent King. Nobunaga decided to send Sakon Shima, whom he had convinced to join his army when they met in Kyushu, to aid Sun Ce, leading Wu in his father's absence. An unaffiliated strategist, Sakon was aware of the secrets of many armies, including the whereabouts of Sun Jian's cell. Nobunaga knew that once Sun Ce had this information, he would defect from Orochi's army, and that this would significantly weaken the Serpent King. As luck would have it, however, the forces of the Orochi Army arrived to attack Nobunaga at just that moment, making Sakon's journey extremely problematic... Prelude Scene - Sakon Shima: I believe I know what you're thinking. Nobunaga Oda: Excellent... Sakon Shima: And this is a chance for me to flex my strategical muscles, as it were. Let's get going. Guan Ping: My lord, the enemy approaches! They are vast in number! Nobunaga Oda: Nothing must stand in Sakon's way. We must pave the path for his egress - with snakeskin, if necessary. Aftermath Scene - Sakon Shima: That was an unfortunate delay, but I think it's time to pay the Little Conqueror a visit now. Nobunaga Oda: Do not disappoint me. Chapter 5 - Battle of Guan Du Narrator: Two of the great leaders of the Resistance, Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi, overcame their personal differences to form a military alliance. Believing that this had only served to gather the enemy soldiers for easier disposal, Orochi gleefully sent his main forces in to wage war with them. The two armies clashed at Nagashino. Shingen and Kenshin were brave and cunning leaders, but the numerical disadvantage doomed them to failure from the very start. When Nobunaga heard what was happening, he decided against sending reinforcements, instead turning his sights upon the fortress of the Orochi Army in Guan Du... Aftermath Scene - Huang Zhong: The armies of Shingen and Kenshin have fought bravely, but have been defeated at Nagashino! This is a black day indeed! Random Character Comment: Jiang Wei: Those two great warriors could not have done more for us... Without them, victory would never have been possible. And you knew they wished to sacrifice themselves, didn't you, my lord? Guan Ping: It's almost as if they sacrificed themselves to ensure our victory... Perhaps... Perhaps Lord Nobunaga foresaw this, and that's why he went straight to Guan Du...! Sun Quan: It's almost as if they were buying time for you, my lord. ...And you attacked Guan Du in such haste so as not to waste their efforts... Masamune Date: Where those two failed, we have succeeded. This is surely a mortal blow we have dealt to... Wait on! You don't think... They marched upon Guan Du knowing they would be wiped out, just to help us win...?! Nagamasa Azai: Their battle was always a lost cause. They fought for us. And you saw this, did you not, my lord? That is why you went straight to Guan Du. Nobunaga Oda: If I had gone to Nagashino, the enemy would simply have overrun Guan Du instead. Chapter 6 - Battle of Fan Castle Narrator: The Orochi Army secured victory at Nagashino, eliminating the Takeda-Uesugu Alliance. Unable to simply allow Nobunaga to lay claim to their fortress in Guan Du, however, Orochi was forced to send his troops straight from Nagashino to Guan Du. Stunned at the loss of their fortress, depleted by the battle and fatigued from the long journey, the morale of the Orochi Army was at an all-time low. Wishing to take advantage of this situation, Nobunaga lay in wait at Fan Castle... Prelude Scene - Nobunaga Oda: They are great in number, but there is more to battle than mathematics. Random Character Comment: Zhuge Liang: The enemy army's movement is slow and lacking in vitality. The pressure of consecutive battles is too much for them to take. Cao Cao: The enemy is fatigued. Consecutive battles are never easy. Sima Yi: I believe Shingen and Kenshin have served their role well. The enemy may have its numbers, but it has lost its motivation. Lu Xun: They appear to be fatigued. They must have taken some major damage at Nagashino. Lu Meng: The enemy is depleted in spirit even more than in number. It is only a matter of time before desertion begins. Zuo Ci: Their morale is all but nonexistent. Our comrades must have put up a brave fight indeed. Mitsuhide Akechi: We certainly have an opportunity here. The battle at Nagashino must have been more intense than we thought. Oichi: They are weak, my brother. they have had no chance to regroup, it seems. Masamune Date: They are mere shells, my lord. There is nothing there. They must be drained from their earlier battle... Ranmaru Mori: The enemy's morale is clearly flagging. The battle must have been harder than we imagined. Hideyoshi Toyotomi: The enemy look like me after one of Nene's lectures, and I don't have much fight in me after that. Shingen and Kenshin must have done a good job. Mitsunari Ishida: Frankly, they look pretty sick... They must have been through the wringer back there. Kotaro Fuma: They are broken men... The spirits of Shingen and Kenshin haunt them still. Nobunaga Oda: The claw of the dragon and the tooth of the tiger have made their mark... Aftermath Scene - Xiahou Dun: Kill me now... I do not wish to see you rule... Nobunaga Oda: If Nobunaga does not suit your tastes, then look elsewhere for leadership. But look to the living, not to the dead. Surely you have sensed the greatness of your master's progeny? Xiahou Dun: ...You mean... That evil-hearted man...? Nobunaga Oda: Since you seem to need to cross swords with a man to determine his worth, then that is what you must do with him. Chapter 7 - Battle of Wu Zhang Plains Narrator: After successive victories at Guan Du and Fan Castle, Nobunaga's army had made serious inroads into Orochi's military resources. Meanwhile, Sakon had liaised with Sun Ce and Xiahou Dun had reconciled with Cao Pi. Nobunaga's plans were beginning to come to fruition. Realizing for the first time that Nobunaga was attempting to unite the forces against him into a single mighty army, Orochi ordered Da Ji to have Nobunaga killed. Gathering together a formidable army, Da Ji set forth to meet Nobunaga at the Wu Zhang Plains... Prelude Scene - Hideyoshi Toyotomi: My lord, you were right all along! Cao Pi has defected, and is restoring the Kingdom of Wei! What's more, Sun Ce has turned his back on that snake as well! It looks like his poison has lost its effects! Nobunaga Oda: The seeds of discontent are flowering... And the serpent is feeling the poison therein. Aftermath Scene - Nobunaga Oda: So, you live after all... Shingen Takeda: Sorry about that. Turns out I'm a tough old coot. Kenshin Uesugi: Once this snake is gone, we must meet again on the battlefield... There is much more fun to be had. Random Character Comment: Zhao Yun: This mighty alliance gives hope to us all that Orochi's reign of terror will soon be a distant memory. Liu Bei: This collection of heroes will be Orochi's undoing. He has dug his own grave! Ma Chao: True stregth can only be attained through great suffering. Orochi has unwittingly dug his own grave! Jiang Wei: The three great heroes have joined forces at last... Our day of salvation is at hand! Yue Ying: This alliance bodes no good for the Serpent King. Guan Ping: Even Orochi cannot resist the might of these threee heroes! Xiahou Yuan: Kind of a strange looking trio, huh? Not as strange as that snake, though? Have you seen him? Zhang He: The heroes have gathered. The curtain is about to fall on the tragedy that was Orochi's life! Cao Ren: The three great warriors standing shoulder to shoulder are surely enough to strike fear into even that cold heart. Lu Xun: Wisdom, strength and skill... All three have them in spades. Orochi must be quaking in his boots! Sun Shang Xiang: These three are no ordinary men. There's something special about them. Special enough even to beat Orochi, I hope... Sun Quan: The three heroes are united at last! Orochi will sit up and take notice now! Da Qiao: Three such powerful men! Together, there is surely nothing they can't accomplish! Xiao Qiao: You three look really strong! Maybe we can even beat Orochi now! Diao Chan: Such an inspiring sight! Even the mighty Orochi would not relish a challenge from this triumvirate! Zhang Jiao: A miracle! The three great rivals have joined forces to do the heavens' work! An age of peace is close at hand! Yukimura Sanada: When my Lords Shingen, Kenshin and Nobunaga stand together... There is no battle we cannot win! Masamune Date: The Dragon, The Tiger and the Demon King are together. Add to that the One-Eyed Dragon of Oshu, and we are unstoppable! Ranmaru Mori: With his former rivals at his side, my lord is unstoppable. Orochi will be powerless to stop him! Ina: This union gives me hope for mankind. We have overcome our differences to topple this monster! Nagamasa Azai: Such a mighty army I have never seen. Even Orochi is powerless to predict how we will fight! Kanetsugu Naoe: Bound by honor, the three greatest leaders of the age have united. Orochi's reign of terror is at an end. Chapter 8 - Battle of Koshi Castle Narrator: Thanks partly to the participation of Shingen and Kenshin, the Allied Army enjoyed a historic victory at the Wu Zhang Plains. With the aid of Nobunaga's far-sighted plans, the armies led by Cao Pi and Sun Ce also claimed victory, and forced Orochi into a corner. The time had come to unite and free this land of it's greatest menace. One demon king against another... The final showdown was about to begin on Orochi's home turf of Koshi Castle... Side Story Chapters Chapter 2-X - Battle of Kawanakajima Narrator: Nobunaga arrived at Kawanakajima to find a warrior bravely leading his army against Orochi's forces. It was Ma Chao, one of the legendary Five Tiger Generals of Shu. He was attempting to keep the citizens of the area safe, leading them to the bastion of Zenkoji. However, the Orochi Army was led by none other than the master strategist Sima Yi. Both Ma Chao and the people he was trying to protect were in great danger. Urged by Huang Zhong, Nobunaga moved to their aid... Chapter 3-X - Battle of Xia Pi Narrator: Lu Xun led a Resistance Army comprised of those soldiers of Wu who refused to side with Orochi under any circumstances. To suppress this uprising, Orochi sent Lu Xun's former lord, Sun Ce, who successfully put down the rebellion. Refusing to allow Lu Xun to escape, Orochi had him pursued, eventually holing him up in Xia Pi Castle, isolated and alone. In order to save Lu Xun and to win him over his army, Nobunaga dispatched a force to Xia Pi... Chapter 4-X - Battle of Si Shui Gate Narrator: Dong Zhuo served Orochi for one reason and one reason only... This reason was in the form of a vast quantity of gold which Orochi was having transported to him ostensibly as military funding. Hearing of this delivery, Hideyoshi Toyotomi immediately formed an army... He rushed to Si Shui Gate to ambush the supply troops carrying the gold... Chapter 5-X - Battle of Nagashino Narrator: Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi advanced upon Nagashino, hoping to draw the full attention of the Orochi Army. Their plan worked; Orochi transferred his primary forces from Guan Du to Nagashino, leaving the fortress at Guan Du dangerously undermanned. If Nobunaga were to take advantage of this opportunity and attack Guan Du, then a mortal blow could be dealt to Orochi's hopes. For this reason, Shingen and Kenshin were prepared to martyr themselves. But just as they were prepared to ride to their deaths, help came from an unexpected quarter... Chapter 6-X - Showdown at Odawara Castle Narrator: Having seized the Orochi Army fortress at Guan Du, the Nobunaga Army was riding the crest of a wave. Just at this time, news filtered through of a rebellion against Orochi led by Cao Pi and Mitsunari Ishida at Odawara Castle. The forces of the Orochi Army in Odawara had been severely depleted through the ongoing battle... Thinking that such a golden opportunity should not be overlooked, Nobunaga immediately dispatched a unit to aid the rebellion... Chapter 7-X - Battle of Kanegasaki Narrator: Nobunaga and his allies proceeded to claim victory after victory, successfully diminishing the size of the Serpent King's forces. Hoping to turn the tide, Orochi sent his closest ally, Masamune Date, to the headquarters of the Resistance in Kanegasaki. If Kanegasaki were to fall, it would mean the end of the Resistance. In addition, a fatal blunder had been made, leaving Huang Zhong to lead only the most basic of defensive units there... Chapter 8-X - Battle of Bai Di Castle Narrator: Bai Di Castle was one of the Orochi Army's main strongholds. Forced to respond to other uprisings, Orochi had left this castle undermanned. Coordinating with his wife, Lady No, who had been freed by Sun Ce, Nobunaga organized a pincer attack on the castle. Just when the castle seemed likely to fall, however, Nobunaga received news that Orochi had sent an enormous force to receive him... |

You mean, didn't want to be the first to post...me neither for that very reason. Although looking at it again I assume it needs only four posts as there is one for each faction. We could always split these posts out if there is more to come I guess. That's a very impressive contribution too, having written guides myself before I can sympathise with how long that must have taken you to write up. I'll have a more detailed read at a latter stage when I've played more of the stories for stuff I've missed. Just don't want to spoil the parts I have yet to do. Thanks for sharing Humble Novice! |

There are some dialogs with characters from each side against Orochi during last stage. Just switch in each character when fighting Orochi to hear the special dialog. For some reason, When I use Ma Chao against Orochi, he said nothing? |

I just wanted to contribute some to make this even more complete; I came across two for the Battle of Hasedo that aren't in the first post. For the second part with Yue Ying; Kanetsugu Naoe - Why is it that your husband would attack, knowing you are here? I hear that he is an honorable man... --- I see. This is a riddle for me to decipher on my own... Very well, lady of yore. I will ponder the puzzle you have posed. Zhou Yu - I do not understand it... I know Zhuge Liang must have a plan, but I can't see why he would attack you. --- I know that much. I just can't figure out what it is, and that irks me. What is he thinking? EDIT: Also, for Cheng Du - another 'random character' comment in between the Yukimura parts. Yue Ying I underestimated Da Ji. She wreaked havoc by slipping her soldiers into our armies, and turning us against each other. |

I found some more random quotes in Wei Stage 4: Prelude Scene - Mitsunari Ishida: Those two... |

I have a few quotes that seem to have evaded you. Wu Stage 4 - Osaka Castle Prelude Zhou Yu - You are back, Sun Ce! It is as though a heavy burden has been lifted from your shoulders! Samurai Stage 3: Kyushu Prelude Jiang Wei: We have no time to lose. The gap in strength between our forces grows daily... Orochi continues to recruit more and more officers for his unholy army. Cao Ren: Orochi has made strategic captures to strengthen his army. We have no time to waste in doing the same. If we do not hurry, we could be swallowed up. Nobunaga: You do not see beyond the surface... I see all. Jiang Wei: I know that I am not yet the leader you are, and so I will trust that you are right. Cao Ren: I am not a smart man, or a man of ambition. I see merely what faces me, and what faces me now, is imminent war. Great job, by the way. It takes a lot of patience and persistence to make a list like this. Edit: Got one more for ya. Wei Story 5 - Odawara Castle Aftermath Zhang He: Orochi is a hideous reptile unfit to share the stage with us. But neither does he deserve to live. |
![]() 98% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot. If you're one of the 2% who hasn't, copy & paste this in your signature. Arguing with some people is a lot like repeatedly slamming your head into a brick wall, only it damages your brain more and is less productive. | |
