In the game as we know the characters have been allocated into one of the three following classes.

Speed: Tend to have quicker R1 attacks which use low Musou, can also move more freely, even during your own attack sequences.
Power: Tend to have R1 attacks which have a higher Musou consumption, but deliver vast amounts power to a sizeable area.
Technique: Have the ability amplify charge attacks and also have a counter attack option with the R1 attack, consuming some Musou of course.

Of the three, do you like one more then the others or do you perhaps try have one of each at all times?

Tech types because they have an extra move, can counter blow and have stronger charges as well.

spped, easily, its much more quicker to attack(suprisingly) and also, getting the skills can be somewhat easier, cause they dont use musou gauge, so you can use your specials in doing those missions, oh, and they can get across the battlefeild quick(another surprise)

I would say Tech or Power. I chose Tech though. Tech has a much larger variety of attacks, some of which are extremly powerful, and have stronger charges. The counters can be useful for harder difficulties, and generally they ussually own

Power are good too, but I haven't exactly liked many speed types. Well not there R1s anyway. Zhou Tai is good, and so is Mitsuhide, but other than them, I don't really know.
Power have awesome R1s most of the time. Zhang Liao's is good, Lu Bu's is good, Keiji's is good, etc, etc. Some are just okay (like Kenshins), but they are generally fun to use.

Mixed response already...I like it!

For me it's all about Power, I feel incomplete if I don't have a dominant Power unit in my party.

Tech types can be used effectively to generate much power, but when you need it the most is when you’re surrounded by 3-4 officers + men. In times like that is can be rather difficult to get a charge up, sure if it fails you can counter out of it but you lose health and Musou. In that situation I really adore having a Power unit to bring out to reign down the pain to a large attacking party, clear them, defeat many and you can then evade if necessary.

Guys like Sanada said are great in the Power class, as are ones like Nagamasa "Straight through!" or even Ieyasu (massive laser burst!). Having a very powerful quick attack to knock everyone over and hurt them significantly is I feel the most appropriate for dire situations. For that reason I prefer the Power class Warriors to the others.

Speed ones are great, but I find them more of a luxury unit and one to buy time while the others are having a rest to restore health and Musou. The low/no Musou consumption R1's they have is often handy, but handy for me is not good enough to be superior to the other classes.

you know what sakon, thats pretty much the same way i feel about speed characters, but i do like the occasional power character, like orochi, nagamasa, ieyasu, tadakatsu, and a few others, but thats why i like wu even more now, its predominently speed characters, and i love it

While Tech and Power mainly rely on their R1 attacks, Speed types get a huge advantage with their combo cancel ability. For example, Gan Ning's Specials are poor (slow sword attack and invisibility which lasts 1 second, hooray) but with combo cancel ability, the slow recovery time he has in C1, C5 and C6 isn't a problem anymore. Also, you can combine R1 attacks with regular attacks to make them even stronger (Ling Tong's C4 + R1 + L+R1 = Death to enemy crowds and generals or Taishi Ci's C3/5 + R1 + L+R1 = Win)

My least favorite is probably Technique. Some of the R1 attacks are great but all Charge attacks just don't work with enchanced strike. Counter attacks are useful but most of them are weak and don't necessarily help you in big crowds. And I guess I should mention that the worst character in game happens to be Tech. character.... Huang Zhong >_>.

//And Sakon, you you should also know that each type has unique ability:
Power, Hyper Armor: While the character is attacking, normal attacks from enemies can't interupt combos
Technique, Critical Attack: Charge attacks deal critical damage on airborne enemies
Speed, Combo Cancel: Able to stop combos by pressing X or R1/L+R1

Power for me. I like most of the characters in this category because they can provide a good amount of strength when going up against the tough enemies especially in hard or chaos mode. The only down fall is when you get hit when charging your R1 up. That will deplete your musou gauge fast before you can even use the R1.

Wow, very tough to choose since I have favorites in each class. I'm going to go with Tech though because of the already mentioned reasons. Many characters have improved drastically by being a Tech (Hanzo, Dian Wei & Nobunaga are the first that spring to mind).

Techs really help to vary the battle, IMO. Power characters you can basically pound the enemy into submission :D . Speed characters are the quick attackers & rely on combos to defeat enemies (I love cancel combos :P )

Techs, though provide a mix of both plus some have stat boosting specials. You can still pound enemies into submission with characters like Dian Wei & his SS+R1, or play more like a Speed character with someone like Cao Pi & combo the enemies to death. Their movesets all get enhanced, plus they have counter attacks.

There are exceptions to these of course (Mitsunari still packs Power-class punch with his special). I enjoy using all types though, & playing as each character (so far) so this was harder than I thought to choose a favorite class.

Some Power characters are good, like Orochi. But you wouldn't expect any different from the likes of him. Him being the main portion of the game, etc. And having all characters be unlocked to get him.

You can just stand and barely move whilst simply using his C1. Though not the full thing, fireball, lightning, etc. But just the thud on the ground.

The move reminds me of how someone can dominate with his or her C1. And is somewhat similar to Lu Bu's C1 in DW3.

Especially with these on his 4th weapon:

Ice, Lightning, Flash, Slay, Drain, Brave, Agility, Might.

Speed, and i cant play with yukimura i dont understand how ppl can like him lol, apart from the way he looks that is.
I like to play with lu xun to get some 4th weapons aswell i know hes a tech but ohwell.
I just noticed the power of mitsunari so i play with him alot atm.
But before that i always liked characters like xiahou dun and zhou tai.

I like double jumps, instant jumps (trough combos to connect faster in the air) and free R1 attacks.

I still wonder why taici chi is speed tho... he always was one of the most powerfull warriors in the Wu camp in DW.

Power type cant be knocked back so thats handy but i rather have a fast character.

Its gotta be technique for me because my favourite character is Kanestugu Naoe and when you use his triple square then r1 he is amazing as a level 99, with his best weapon with best stats and unique item he is the best.

Power for me coz they don't really get stunned by @($&# gunmen/archers/crossbowmen. Bane of my life. Also they won't get juggled easily when I get mobbed by 4-6 officers which happens pretty often.

Hard to pick though. All three have their own pros and cons. I did go for speed. Majority of them have skills that do not consume musou.

I pick tech slightly over speed because tech's skills can decimate officers in one shot. Also technique skills use little portions of the mosou bar. Speed uses none but is generally weak unless your Zhou Tai or Akechi. I like the speed dash but overall techs are the most powerful.

Wow, all 7's. I voted for Technique. Even though my favorite guys are Strength (Azai and Ma Chao), and Ishida and Akechi being my 3rd-4th favorites tied with Sanada and Naoe. Oddly enough, 2 of each type! Weird..

Technique is just awesome! Counters, enhanced charge attacks, its just WIN.

Oh, and PotatoSamurai; have you ever done Mitsuhide's C7 with the impalement slashes, then hit r1 twice really quick? Its such a officer slaying combo. Best combo IMO, next to freezing somone with Ishida and doing his C4. Multi Ten=WIN.
I hereby vow, on March 4th, 2009, that if I encounter a spammer and lose twice in a row, my Brawl disc will be shattered to peices and I will have photographic proof. This will remain in my sig until said event happens.

I like power, but speed is great because of the jump thing and some have unlimited R1, like Zhou Tai and Gan Ning.

If you were to look in a Movelist you will see a star beside a move. That's it.

In his case try pressing square twice and then R1. And he will perform spear jabs.

Speed but I really like the Tech counters once you hit a high level. Speed is good in the beginning, then Tech does alot of damage.

i prefer speed myself, most of my fav characters r speed too...which is good. Some of the r1 moves just look awsome and i just like to do them repeatdly or add them to combo's, as most of them dont consume musou.

I like them all as I always have one character from each type in my team. But I think I'll go with Tech type as my favourite because it gives more moves for each character (even though they're only cooler looking versions of charge attacks)
