I'll say technique.
This is the order what I like the best:
Technique: It brings strong damage to enemies and have a chance to counterattack when hit.
Speed: You can do combos and double jump but can be hit sometimes.
Power: Hyper Armor sometimes work but sometimes you can be stunned.
My thoughts are pointing to such a violent world.

Speed mainly cause Ina is speed and im horribly biased.

Also, they can cancel in mid attack, do a dash and have 2 special abilities (which they can chain, in WO at least)...whats not to love?

Hard to say- but Power. More because I like the characters in themselves more than most of the others than because I feel Power is superior.

I try to have a team with one of each....

Ranmaru for power, Gan Ning for Speed, Da Ji or Yukimura for Tech. That would be my main group...

Most of my favorite characters either fall into the Speed category or the Tech category, and between the two, I have the most fun w/ Speed. Lu Meng's, Sakon's, Masamune's... I have fun with those.

Before I preferred speed. But now, in WO2, since many Speed characters were nerfed (Ina, Mitsuhide, Noh, etc), I prefer using technique characters. Though, power characters are probably the way to go in WO2.

How was Ina nerfed ? She's exactly same as she was in WO but this time her R1 attacks are effective crowd clearers.

Ina was buffed in this game but her R1's don't stun officers, which sucks. That how it is for most Speeds... :(

Ya, I notice that. I dont think any of the Speed type's R1s stun officers, because of noticed Zhou Tai to be the same way. But it doesnt bug me that much, especially when Ina's R1 is a freakin killer against peons.

Using the Huang Zhong, Ina, Xiahou Yuan set up(as needed to to get them to 99 for the dream stage) Their bow attacks are amazing. I love using Xiahou Yuan's R1, its extremely powerful.

Techs are my favorite, well most of my favorites fall on the Tech category, plus I rely on counter attacks more than the team assist.

Speed ability was surely my favourite when I was playing the first game- sometimes I think I wouldn't have beaten Orochi without Masamune's and Mitsuhide's special speed strike; they were useful to keep him at bay and delay his powerful attacks. I also like it because it's infinite.

In WO2 I think I have become better with the use of power ability. It's extremely helpful when I am facing strong officers and I usually know when it's necessary to use it.

Technique is an ability that I haven't fully mastered yet but I hope to change that with a certain mystic... ;)

In conclusion, power type has become my favourite but I don't choose my team based on the type of their specific ability... if I like the character, I will choose him/her anyway.

Technique usually is the best for me due to their highly powerful EX moves and usually effective star moves able to slay generals with ease when the weapon is buffed high up (Example: Cao Ren for EX, Dian Wei for good star move). They usually begin a lil mediorce but kick ass near the end. Definetely my class of choice overall usually and I very rarely go into any battle with at least one of these fellas. If a character has no good useful EX move or a good star move then I really don't like using him at all because I never gave counter much value. Good exception is Hanzo whos counter I found out being very highly effective.

Power type is good to have around but I can play without one. I tend to use them to either start up the fight or end it. Either swimming into the crowd and beating up the general until the mob is smaller and the general has taken damage enough (Yoshihiro Shimazu), then switch to Tech and finish it. Or alternatively if the Power happens to have powerful R1 move I might use them to quickly dispatch a weakened officer and switch out to recover their Musou again (Xiahou Yuan). Rarely using Power character in any situation not involving officers if they don't happen to have very good splash move or good horse attack. Then they can act as time buyers too.

Speed character I usually use to "buy time" for other characters and crowd clearing if they have a decent non-musou R1 for it (Ina comes to mind) or good splash move. Usually when other character(s) are out of their Musou I switch to this one and start doing hit and run with decent combo, and when things get too tough cancelling the attack (Or doing R1 attack if it's good for escape/knock, Kotaro's slide and Xiahou Dun's torpedo are good examples) and jumping out the crowd and repositioning. I usually often use them while moving from place to place too so the other characters can recover while this character type who basically doesn't use Musou at all is in charge. Musou-using R1 Speed characters I tend to handle much like Technique characters.

So yeah, I prefer to have 1 Tech at least in every team, thus making it my "preferred class" but I on the other hand would not like to go out with 3 Tech team cause I would have none to "buy time" with. For that, Power or Speed is useful to have around. I also like to usually have a character with me who swings only to one side of the horse (Most SW characters, some DW characters like Ma Chao) cause I actually do use a horse. They make actually darn nice dmg to generals and mobs alike and are fast to move around. I just feel not like using Sun Wukong for my horse slave..

I like the classes in this order

1. Tech
2. Power
3. Speed

I love Tech because you can absolutely cripple people by juggling them, especially if you use Motochika's musou in a change... Devastation! :shifty:

Power is good because it's just so easy to clear crowds of people or officers and it's hard for people to interrupt your attacks.

Speed I'm not so keen on, mainly because their special attacks are generally not that good.
See if you can find any other clues, I'll be examining this.

I always loved speed types because of their ability to jump cancel and airdash. I love them even more in WO2 now that you've got Team assists. I really hate it in WO to get poked to death while being a speed type, since they have nothing that can save them except their musou, should they get attacked.

Power comes second because of their anti-flinch ability. They are my main powerhouses for tough situations.

I'm not really fond of Tecs since they need a lot of musou to perform ex attacks and counterattacks.
The name's Pang Tong. I do what it takes to get the job done. Nothing more DW Strikeforce/ Pang Tong duel

I tend to gravitate towards the power characters. Lu Bu being the top pick for me most of the times. Speed also has some very good characters plus the ability to jump in the middle of the combo's is very handy (Though with the Highflier Skill anyone can jump.) Technique characters are also good (Zhao Yun being among my top picks.) So for me its Power followed by Speed and then Technique

I most often associate with power aswell. I believe solo runs are the easiest with Power types, because enemies usually break guard and attack right through you with most Speed and tech types. While power types hold their ground easier and will never have the problem of enemies attacking back while your in the middle of a combo.

I haven't had this happen to me very often, but it's worth noting that Power characters can be flinched by enemy charge attacks.

Yes sometimes even the Power types can be flinched by enemy charge attacks. However for me the joy of playing with Lu Bu or Tadakatsu Honda or Orochi is the awesome feeling or just going through people even generals on chaos mode like they are nothing. Just is pure fun :hehe:

Though on a very unrelated note.... I hate Yoshimoto Imagawa!!!! he just plain annoys me!!!!
