Sun Jian's is the greatest in the game when mixed with Gan Ning's musou! You can from one end of Wu Zhang Plains to the other faster than any other way( it's also great for PI with time limits ^_^ ). Also I love Zhou Tai's and Mitsuhide's because they don't use musou and are very powerful. Ma Chao's is actually quite strong if you're acurate and can kill quite fast. But when it comes to Orochi for someone who's musou and c1 are almost unstoppable his R1 is s***! Also Nobunaga's special when combined with his c2 is devastating.

I like Xiao Qiaos R1 when she jumps in the air... I mostly like the speed ones since they don't drain your musou. I hate Da Qiao's since it doesn't do anything, along with what other characters do the same as her.

Xiao Qiao!!! Definitely the cheap kicking move. You can also combo from it.

C1 to dizzy them
R1 to knock em in the air
The R1 kick to send them flying immediately after the first R1
If you're good, you can do her jumping charge attack while still in the air from the kick and score 1 last hit.

I found some more that I like ^_^

Sun Quan - so powerful
Da Ji - I was surprised by how much damage that takes off
Nagamasa - same as above

Ones I hate <_<

Cao Pi - its just exactly like his other orb move except it uses musou, just seems pointless to me
Yoshimoto - most of the time it pushes the enemies out the way
Nobunaga - I dont get what his is all about, it does nothing
Any enhanced charge attacks (i.e. Okuni, Da Qiao) do nothing and are pretty much useless imo

I agree on Kimmy with Sun Quan
And I also like:

Zhou Yu:So strong
Ieasyu Tokugawa:Pretty and strong
Nobunaga:It Owns!!
Since it has many useful functions
@Kimmy:try pressing C2 or C3 after you did his R1 attack ;)

I hate
Yoshimoto:What's useful about a guy wearing make-up,that drops himself?
Orochi:25 try's,one hit..**** Orochi!!!!
Sun Jian:Stupid Suicidal attack...Burn in hell,Tiger of Wu!!! <_<

Just tapping R1 won't do it, as he is Technique type. Use five normal (press Square) attacks, but instead of pressing Triangle for his C6, press R1. That's how you use his unique move, though I personally don't find it very useful; too many attacks must precede it, Cao Pi's attack speed with said attacks is too slow, and the move itself is not exactly stellar.

Also, I'm not sure, but I think Okuni' and Da Qiao's R1 moves do not actually enhance attack, but musou and life recovery, respectively.

Edit: Oh yeah, this is an opinion thread. >.>

Personally, I like Zhang He's X-slash special, as it does decent damage and knocks the enemy down automatically, costs nothing, and is totally spammable against a limited number of enemies. I also like Kunoichi's special, which makes her invincible and stronger for awhile, rendering even the toughest of foes defenseless (especially Orochi >:)).

So far i have only played as wei so far and i am new to the game, but ill say what i like so far...

zhang he's is good but i don't like it as much as technique based specials because speed it fun and really useful but not enough variety. Zhang He is good for just killing. Cao Pi on the other hand is my favorite! :D i have him at like lv 28 and square-square-r1 is the ultimate officer killer, his other combinations work very well too, and i like that after i do something like squarex4-r1 he does a ice orb right afterwards... hmm maybe it's just the way i press it that makes him do that but it IS effective! Xu huang is my favorite for crowd clearing so far when im not using mitsunari ishida's r1+forward attack. with xu huang, square-square-r1 works great on crowds and so do the others... mitsunari is onlly good for his r1+foreward attack imo..... -_-

that's what i have so far ill talk more about what i think when i play more. :)

After playing with everyone in the series, and finishing it up, I have a few. Tadakatsu's is very useful to get enemies out of the way. Zhang Liao's will just throw your enemies away from you! (Which is very useful when your surrounded.) Yukimura's is my personal favorite. When he says that thing I don't quite understand when you press R1! If he gets someone it's very powerful. Those are the ones which I found very good. They're not my favorites, but pretty fun on WO.

I believe he says "Through your soul!" Almost as cool as "Lathe'd!" from SW2 (lol).

I never though Zhang Liao's was that powerful but you are right, it's good for throwing enemies out of the way when it large crowds. Yukimura's is fun to spam with if you have absord equip to his weapon which basically recharges Musou power when hit on target.

Zhang Liao has one of those moves that when you do it closer to the enemy it does more damage. Just like his C1 where the first swipe is a killer!

Oh, thanks for making that clear for me! I mistook if for ''Feel Your soul!'' Which I didn't post because I found utterly confusing...LOL Thanks again!

Yeah, that's why I like using Zhang Liao for those kind of situations. (Changing characters quickly enough when your surrounded.) Also, I never knew Yukimura could come in handy like that. Sounds like he'll just be invincible that way.

Dian Wei SS+R1 ... equip Conserve 10 & you can SS+R1, then C1 in a crowd to recharge & make up for what you lost using his SS+R1 special. It uses less than Mitsunari's L+R1. Highly abusable, highly powerful.

That is one of my favorite SS+R1 combos in the game. I wish they had done it eariler with him because he was such a horrible character in DW5. I will say this though, I hardly even used the original SW2 R1 attacks when it came to playing SW2. I just never really cared for them one bit.

Agreed, I can't stand Dian Wei's moveset except that move. Also, I think the only special attacks I used regularily in SW2 were Hanzo's ninjitsu & any musou recharging move. Many were just not very useful, IMO.

Now in WO, there's only a couple that are useless and I rarely use musou at all.

I thought Dian Wei was one of the best characters in DW5, no kidding >_>. Only weak Charge attacks he had were his C1 and C2. All others were good for crowd clearing and against tough enemy generals (especially his C6, since it activated the elemental attack).

I don't mind his moveset in WO, but I must admit that I prefer using his ex-C4 over ex-C3. That axe throw is too cheap with Agility + Range combination.

Well to me Dian Wei was pretty strong in DW5 but I only liked his the use of his C5 in that game. I just found him to be very slow to work with.

The only R1 attack I found to be very useless was Gan Ning's. temporarily invincible skill. The thing only last no more then a mere 2 seconds, not giving you enough time to escape from officers or even large crowds. Other than that, I practically use all the R1 attacks and very rarely use the musou in this game too.
