Only the DW6 SSX. Besides that, she really is one of my more favorite female characters, despite some minor naggings. I felt what they did to her was nothing short of butcher (the bow I can live with, though... I'll just miss SSX: Warrior Princess) |

I've always liked renbu system. I just wish it had more charge attacks. And I don't know about most people, but I still find it fun even on the hardest difficulty. And I don't always have to resort to mashing square all the time. |

The renbu system was quite a good concept that they put in, all it really needs is a bit of adjustment so it could be at least a bit more challenging...but other than that, the actual gameplay was really good, I liked it ![]() The clones wasnt really a problem, but when it came to trying to level them all up, it became way to repetative, so that annoyed me, but overall, I was quite pleased with the game

Yeah, I don't hate the Renbu system, but rather how undeveloped it is thanks to Koei rushing it. It needs some tweeking and MUCH more attention in the future if Koei wishes to continue using it. I'm hoping that if they do wish to use it that they can add in much, much more strings of attacks and even make it to where you don't have to start from the bottom EVERY single time (maybe bring in an item, or work it somewhere into the level branches that you could start at level three and work your way up). With some more polishing, the Renbu would be much more enjoyable. That, and getting rid of clones would DEFINITELY help with the repetativeness that came with DW6. Unless you're a hardcore gamer, then one halberd moveset it pretty much the same as another. Just... different effects. Whoopdedoo! |

I was only happy with DW6, when I downloaded it. I was waiting for it on PC for such a long period of time, that i couldn't wait more >< At first, everything was so unusual and "colourful" (if to compare with another DW games). I was playing a lot, but then.. Day by day it became more and more boring. Repetitive movesets of the majority of characters, little number of levels.. Just hope, that DW7 will be a lot better, than Dynasty Warriors 6. |

I felt the same way when it came to leveling characters. I didn't like it after awhile with repetitiveness of the clone moveset. I guess the one thing I had a hard time enjoying was the repeated officer quotes but I learn to get over it and just finish them one by one with the tv mute lol. Overall, I don't care for the Renbu system but it didn't bother too much. It was something new and different from what I am use to when playing these games. I enjoy DW6 being as I still play it from time to time. Not much to do now except Challenge mode which keeps me entertained for the most part but yes I am still happy with the outcome of the game. |

I'm happy with it. I only wish the horse system had actual "super saddles" (for things like Red Hare, Hex Mark & Shadow Runner) rather than the need to go through some retarded horse farming system. I also think the cloning was silly but nevermind. I actually quite liked how they really fleshed out the characters in this one. The women are all hawt, and the men are either really manly (Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhang Liao, Cao Ren etc) or really feminine/emoish/punkrockish (Lu Xun, Zhou Yu, Gan Ning, Zhang He etc). I do kinda hope they bring back the chance to get a 4th weapon at some point. Kinda takes some of the challenge away. So overall, a worth addition to the KOEI aresnal in my opinion. Good music too. |

I haven't played DW6 proper, only Empires, but i will say that I popped DW5 back in, and it made me appreciate the DW6 combat system: the dodging, the grapples, the more fluid moves. I still like the old system, but it did feel slow and less exciting at times. Now that I'm reading the novel, I really wish they had the space to cram more battles in. I like DW6E for the CAW. The basic games now get boring because it's the same situations over and over. I can deal with repetitive moves if the scenarios change. |

*sarcastic clapping* oh where do I begin? OK KOEI, you fix that godforsaken voice acting, crappy character redesigns, stupid anime-like dialogue, and that rediculous dramatic storytelling and I'll give this game a f*cking 11/10 God I miss DW4 |

I am actually quite satisfied with DW6.;) Sony rushed Koei you know, so Koei didn't have time to actually complete the game. It was also Koei first time in the next-gen consoles era so more will come. Hopefully DW6:XL(if there is a XL) and DW7 will redeem this. |

Yes... and then no no no. There's parts of it I like and can appreciate and then there's the other side of things where it drives home that DW3 and 5 were the high points for the series. The battlefields were made larger and are now multi-leveled and can be navigated more freely. And yet all of them can be completed faster than ever before thanks to the horses and how fast the combat can be. So this is overall a plus for the game, no more spending 40 minutes on stages like Wu Zhang. But then that leads to the combat. Renbu is nice but as it is now it's not very satisfying and a poor replacement for the old system. Let's take Zhou Yu for example on harder difficulties: In DW5 I could use my running attack to dizzy most of the crowd and probably fill musou, then use a few square attacks to further fill musou, then use true musou (Way of Musou item) and let the boom further kill the crowd. Move away and Jump Charge to get the officer alone from any remaining peons, then C3 him. Since he's stunned I use C1 orb and then juggle him while he's on fire. He got out? I can either do it again or maybe jump attack to make him "mid air dodge", follow his direction and continue attacking from behind, or maybe I have musou again by now and I can use that to further juggle him. Do I have a musou rage? YAHOO, CAPTAIN FALCON KNEE IN HIS BACK! Now maybe half of this is pointless and not as effective but you could actually mix it up to keep yourself entertained. Now? Well: Is that a crowd I see? Do I have Renbu level Infinite? No? Damn, I need to spam horse attacks or musou since they're the only safe things. Or I do square square dodge, square square dodge, square square dodge, square square musou... Do I have it now? Ok great, I can... spam triangle attacks since they're the only safe moves cause peons like to dash in and interrupt my square attacks. Have I gotten the officer relatively alone yet? Ok, break his guard... triangle triangle triangle... triangle triangle, maybe a hold triangle attack... massive square attack spam, musou him, hey look at that infinite he can't escape. Yay, I beated him. The old system had C1-6, the square attack string, jump charges and musou/true musou. It was somewhat limited but it had enough to keep you entertained. Renbu has a square string, a triangle string, hold triangle and musou. Those complaints that Dynasty Warriors was a button masher? Now they're true. Point against the game. I'm not gonna say the new specials are bad though, those were pretty good. Volley = rape Characters are again a mixed bag. Hey look at Cao Cao, kick ass. Zhao Yun looks heroic, no surprise there... Sun Jian, bad ass dood... Zhuge Liang, freakin' sweet. Diao Chan is that really you? Dayum. I actually want to stare at you a little longer... Dong Zhuo, nice to see now you're the fat pig Lu Bu's been calling you since DW4 Then, I get to Xiahou Dun. He's... different, a little more 'pretty'. Zhang He, big surprise there... wait, he has heels? Yuan Shao... younger? Sun Quan... also younger? Ling Tong is even more pretty boy than before. Liu Bei much younger? Gan Ni-Oh good jeebus they've Final Fantasied you. No longer are you a badass pirate, now you're one of the beautiful people. Everyone was given either small touches or big steps to make them pretty and beautiful and stuff like that. I know they have to appeal to people but jeez, they've all been to hollywood now. Random weapons and horses? Nice... but that takes most of the fun out of getting unique steeds and 4th weapons. 17 Musou Modes? And half of them aren't even that good? Less time spent playing. Half of the movesets are unique? The rest are clones with only slight differences? Even less time spent playing. Music? Damn good. Damn good. Nice going Koei. Sooo... there's some good stuff, and then there's stuff that just takes away from the experience and makes me go back to DW3 or 5. I know the game was rushed, it's very clear it was. I can only hope DW7 isn't rushed. Edited by Dai Tian, Oct 10 2009, 10:49 PM.

Man, I'll take your words. I know some ppl like renbu 'cause you have more freedom while attacking, but making the major attacks cancellable and the infinity renbu make me feel dumb. Button Mashing sucks, i know, but brainless mashing is worse...

DW3 FTW, nothing beats the originality. But if DW6 has as big maps and more war theme rather than slash millions in seconds, it'd be better. Overall DW6 was not bad. Pretty awesome in fact but, looking back at DW3 or 4, not as exciting. You could walk over the battlefield alot easier. WHile DW3 you needed ur allies. |

Yeah I was satisfied with it sure the Renbu system is annoying and the character and stage cuts were a letdown but it still was decent. It's challenge mode was fun not that anyone seems to notice that exists in this i'm just glad they actually changed it as the old versions were severly criticised for been the "Same Old S**t" ![]() Clearly KOEI knew the DW series was been drastically bashed on and tried to actually change it a pity time wasn't on there side as this could have been a lot better ![]() But after seeing DW6 Empires and Strikeforce we can see they are trying to achieve that

I have to disagree... they HAVE changed the series. Its barely recognisable from the old fun, addictive, replayable ones they are following on from. The Renbu dumbed down the challenge and the uniqueness of the characters with a fraction of the charge attacks. The lack of unique characters and the cut ones removed even more replay value, the lack of musuo modes for most even more so as at level 1 you were stuck with doing the same one star levels to get up the ladder over and over again and heck even some of the old replay boosting factors like the "ultimate fourth weapons" have gone in place of a dull and unexciting three weapons system now in place. The empires series is awesome but DW6 Empires was terrible as what happened to making of alliances, what happened to the days of not have limitations on total number of officers allowed and what was the point of bringing back Meng Huo with no story, no Zhu Rong to accompany him and no Elephants which were extremely popular though i do find him one of the most fun overall to play. They effectively dumbed down the series even more - more so than ever before be it ruler or officer mode your playing its a case of you single handedly slaughtering all the enemies and conquering the land... there is no strategy to the game or at least it feels that way to me. Strikeforce has potential, im actually really looking forward to how it holds up on the next gen consoles and long have a prayed for multiplayer Warriors actual and i think this couple with RPG elements puts the game in a niche section of the market it could really dominate if it gets peoples imaginations. Overall reviewers in the western market demanded changes and they got them... these changes were rushed yes but really i didnt take to all that many of them - certainly not when i still play Warriors Orochi 2 and DW GUNDAM 2 regular many months after completing them. How did these people who actually wanted the changed react - negatively... i fear they have caused a mess of the flagship series and im eternally grateful they at least left the SW series be in its old form. Overall i was dissapointed in many ways with DW6, if it aint broke dont fix it and i felt just like i did when i played Kingdom Under Fire Circle of Doom for the first time... i thought "why have you done this to your franchise"
