As of SW2:XL Shibata will make his unique debut to the series, of course we have seen him already in a semi-unique role in Samurai Warriors 2 & Samurai Warriors 2: Empires. What are your thoughts of one of Oda's finest generals, also the man whom married Nobunaga's sister Oichi, twice. Will his addition cause some friction between Oichi & Nagamasa? Post any thoughts relating to Katsuie here! |

This is a disgrace! Absolutely no views on one of my favorites! What a voice actor, I mean seriously, its super talented for the role. I would even compare it to how good Cao Ren's is in DW5, so for KOEI's sake they better not get rid of it! His MS was a bit of a shock for me when they showed the first video's in SW2:XL as he was much better than I thought he would be. Plus if you guys haven't guessed already, I put personality and VA before MS always. And he's got both! |

Cant really comment till I play him outside of Empires, without the cut and paste MS LDZ. But as far as his VA in SW2 goes, your right. Its right up there with Yoshihiro, Zhang Fei, Cao Ren, and Pang De (DW5). |

I don't like Katsuie Shibata because he looks a bit weird and his move set ain't that good. It is better then some characters but i don't like him. <_< I think he would of been way better if he had his weapon from SW2 but better move set. I hate playing with characters who have an axe. I basically don't like his weapon in the SW2XL. <_< <_< <_< |

I actually like Katsuie,the looks,the personality,the weapons,etc. Altough he looks a bit like a hobo,he is kinda cool,and his new weapons kick ass! |

I dont really like this guy. I havent played him yet so I cant say anything on the moveset but I never liked his personality in SW2, I found it very boring to say the least. I have never been a fan of characters that are all brawn anyway
 I dont like his looks either

i dont know why but.. i actually liked him in SW2 though i couldnt play as him.. because.. i guess i used to find him quite funny.. and full of himself.. his new Weapons look awesome... and i wanna try him out :lol: |

Pretty cool to me. Great voice, awesome moveset and probably a pretty cool story to boot. What's not to love. Sitll like Kojiro and Toshiie more though.

I haven't played with him to the point where he has his own individual move-set. But I have played with him in empires. He just had Yukimura's Move-set along with Keiji and a few others. Couldn't say if I was all in awe about it. But it was fun playing with him. I'd like to try him out in SW2XL though. |

"I've taken the Kingo Ward!" Now that I have SW2XL and I've leveled him up significantly, I think I can comment on him. He is my favorite of the new XL characters. He's just awsome. His VA from SW2 was amazing. He wasn't even playable but he still has one of the best VAs from that game. His SW2XL VA is nice too. I think it fits better than his old one. His old one fit his old personality, which was a tough guy who'll kill you. His new personality has much more depth, and I think his new VA fits his calmer personality better. I'm not sure if his SW2E VA is the same as in XL, but I didn't like it in that game. He has his old personality with his new VA, it just didn't fit. His costume isn't my favorite, but it's not horrible either. I like the whole barbarian look he has going on. Though that look fits his old personality and VA perfectly. He should have a new look for his new personality & VA. He looks like a barbarian but doesn't act like one. He reminds me of Cao Ren now, and I think he should have some armor. I think a helmet would work nicely. I am in love with his double axe moveset. His C2 & C3 are good old fashioned pain bringers. They may not be flashy, but they sure are effective. His C1 is amazing and extremely effective since it breaks opponent's guards. His C4 & Special 1 are awsome, they're unblockable throws and they deal a good amount of damage. His Special 2 is also great, as it deals extra explosion damage; not to mention it looks cool as well. His musou is beastly, as it's almost impossible to block. You can just go around your opponent, knock them down, and pound them when they are on the ground. It's gotta be one of the best musous in the franchise. Not to mention the extra falling rock damage you get when you get him to a high level. I reckon he's one of, if not the most cheap character in the game since he has 5 moves that break guard or are unblockable. And I love it. His SW2/SW2E moves however, were meh. I don't remember much about them, but I guess that's because they were just generic officer moves. That spear didn't fit him too well either. He has the scary barbarian look and he's an intimidating person, but the spearhead was way too small and wasn't as intimidating. His double axes are a much better improvement. I love his story in XL. In SW2 he was just a loyal, mindless retainer whos wife talked him into attacking Hideyoshi because she didn't like him. In XL however, he has his own reasons for fighting at Shizugatake. He's also more calm and he has a bigger sense of honor and respect for the warrior way. He also has a protégé in Toshiie. He doesnt have a generic personality anymore, and I like that. |

I like his character, from what I know, and I love his appearance. I'm glad that Oichi ends up with a rather...not pretty man after initially being with Nagamasa. I've known some people to claim Shibata is like..a bad guy. But really he's just a mirror contrast to Nagamasa. Not pretty, aggressive, mildly self absorbed, not friendly, and allied with the Oda (Demon King). Kinda funny when you stop to think about how much he cares for Oichi and what his aspirations are. Really, despite the fact he opposed Toyotomi, I love everything about him. He's kinda hero who is overshadowed by his not so perfect demeanor, and for that he seems to be underrated. |

other than Yoshimoto, also my favorite SW2:XL character. it's high time he was made playable, and his semi-tragic unrequited-requited love story with Oichi is far more interesting than the drivel she had with Nagamasa. he seems to be another of the overlooked characters in the KOEI pantheon, rather like Cao Ren, Goemon Ishikawa, and Xu Huang. generally well respected, but often passed by for flashier, more "heroic" looking characters. i always prefer the less popular characters, this is no exception. |

Well blow for blow, Katsuie is one of the strongest characters on the game. Period. All due to his nifty little elemental special. I especially like to combine it with his level 3 musou attack and watch the carnage ensue. His story is pretty good. Although, he isn't that much older than Toshiie so it was a little wierd seeing him protrayed the way he was. And his VA, though he does a good job, sounds like he smokes a bit too much. |

Ya... His SW2E Voice was Different from his Original... <_< :mellow: ...But It was Still Good (My Opinion) They have had much worse, and few better (SW2E VA)  ...I would have been happy with either in this game, and the same goes for the new Worriors Orochi (When that time comes)------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PS: They Did use Some (just a few) of His original V-Acting from SW2 In SW2E though... :ph43r: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

This IS the best character out of the bunch just introduced. Bar none. Persona: Classical samurai. Straight and true. Zealous and never waivers from his beliefs. Ironic his persona is alot like Pang De and they also give him 2 axes. Voice is performed excellently, the lines delivered make you feel more into the game as his story progresses. Probably the best performance since DW5 Cao Ren. Moveset: Brutal. Surprisingly, he's not slow. Not blazing of foot like Hideyoshi and Hanzo, but from his looks you'd think he's a tank. C1 breaks guard and good for crowd clearing as well as officers. C2 is just simple but effective. C3 may be his best charge. C4's ender good for taking out far targets. Horse combat is one of the better ones with C2 (launches a mile in the air) and his C4 (fills musou well). Specials are the key to his strength. Unblockable throw, and explosions that make his lvl 3 musou all the deadlier. There really is not much to dislike about this guy. A good story, fun/powerful MS, and relationships with alot of characters to keep you coming back for more. Pick the game up to play with this guy, and you wont be dissapointed. |

Koei has outdone themselves. I have to admit that I got a slightly immature and egotistical feel from Shibata in SW2, but in XL he's simply amazing. He may very well be my favorite character. His moveset, his VA, and his story are just...not what I expected. I can't express how much I like him. |

I have to agree, for me Shibata is already at level 56 (This is important as my only other people at or above 50 are Ginchiyo at 70, Musashi at around 60, and Tadakatsu at 56) Of course, he's like that simply because I was being stupid trying to get his fourth weapon before beating his story, but honestly, Katsuie is so awesome I'd prolly play him up to max sooner than other characters anyways. His explosion special transforms him from a strong Charge character into a raving beast capable of mass feats of homicide! His personality is okay, too, and he was a much deeper character than I had thought he'd be. Out of all the new characters, Katsuie has to have the best moveset for me, IMO...which I'm surprised about, I didn't think he'd be the one, I figured it'd be Toshiie, but...he's third behind Kojiro for me, honestly. |
