In SW2 I loved using Hanzo despite the fact that he had so-so attack power and his C4 didn't combo reliably versus officers (I hated going up against a hyper Kotaro). That being said, after using the beast that is Hanzo in Warriors Orochi, I have to say SW2: XL Hanzo is really dull to use. He still does not have a reliable way of quickly and efficiently dispatching officers and his crowd control (minus the shadows) is still same old --- meaning, nothing special. I guess you can say that I could just use his C5 all the time to spawn the shadows which will then give me more than adequate crowd control plus greater officer killing abilities. His C5, however, doesn't quite live up to its potential. This move would have been so much better if only you could control where he would face prior to fragging random peons with shuriken and if he would fire instantly. Having him pause prior to shooting things up gives opponents a crowds a chance to hit you and officers to potentially inflict serious damage if they're on hyper mode or if you're on a higher difficulty setting. It absolutely sucks when a character gets locked into position for any particular move. Seeing as Hanzo's crowd control is rather mediocre, the ability to alter his positioning would have been a rather welcome change. The only "special" effect from his C5 is that his shadows spawn automatically. If those "what ifs" were realized, I'd definitely use Hanzo more than most others. He has a sick weapon, one of the coolest looking fight stances and definitely has the best running animation. Oh and ninjas are just plain kick-ass. :ph43r: |

The only moves I like of his are his C4 and musou. Both of them just look cool. Other than that, I'm not much of a fan. I didn't like him much in SW1 either. |

I vote for good moveset and personality He is my favorite character in SW1.. Then his musou and moveset changed in SW2  I cant use the flower lightning and ice aura for his musou u_u His personality is a unique one.. He likes shadow a lot ne

He is a little more difficult to use than Fuuma Kotarou, but he is a very high potential character imo. His air normal attack (shuriken) used to be very powerful in SW1 when you attach and improve "range attack" power skills. It can takes large chunk off the opponent's health. But it got toned down a lot since then. He's too obsessed with Darkness when compared to Fuuma Kotarou's Chaos but I think that's because ninjas got to have some degree of psychological problem to qualify to be master ninja. |

Hanzo is great! He has Kotaro as a rival and thats one of the things i like about Hanzo. He has a cool Kusarigama blade and good ninja abilities. |

His level 3 musou makes me squeal like a child when Im surrounded by hordes. I don't use the beam, I use it to pop four extra clones and just go BALLISTIC.  Also, his running speed when he's near level capped is just lovely. Finally, I love his SW2 VA, but then again, never played the first. I'd rank him in my top five favorites of SW2, easy. |

Hanzo is my favorite SW character(regardless of game). I really like his moveset, except for his C1(horrid) and his Musou(the clones with his lv3 help, but not enough to warrant using it, imo). His C4 is excellent for crowds, his C2 for officers, and his C3 is fairly good for both. Plus, His weapon is just insanely cool and he has an awesome deadlock-bonus attack! That said, I think he really suffers from the lack of a good guard-breaker or unblockable grab. I also commonly repeat this: I really wish they hadn't dropped the final hit of his SW(1) C3, which granted it much better crowd-control capability. Personality-wise, I really like him; but, I think he's just too obsessed with Ieyasu. Loyalty is great, but I think he deserves a storyline that centers around him. I mean, Hanzo doesn't even APPEAR in his own opening movie in SW2! And, on top of that, he's the ONLY character that doesn't. I mean, They altered Hideyoshi's opening to let Nene appear in her version, but they couldn't do that for Hanzo? I love Hanzo for his personality, not for his moveset. With the exception of his C4, I don't find any of his moves especially good, despite their quick speed. His Musou's decent, but not terrific. This doesn't really bother me, though, because he's got an awesome nature. The metaphorical existence as the shadow is cool, and his unwavering loyalty to Ieyasu is great, especially in the sense that he lives and dies for his master, with regard only to the will and welfare of his lord, and caring not for his own existence. |

Hmmm agreed Hanzo's personality and appearence is awesome but his moveset leaves a lot to be desired. I prefer Kotaro in that department and if Fuma sticks to character this time (ie. fights for the Hojo and not simply for "chaos") he may actually surpass Hanzo in my eyes... Come to think of it I hardly like any of the quick/weaker guys, I'm not a big fan of Hideoyshi either. I guess I prefer the powerhouse/all rounders more. |

I actually really like Hanzo's moveset. Though they did slightly gimp him by turning him into a special type, he makes up for it by utilizing his specials. His R1+square is actually pretty strong despite what difficulty you play on. Plus his entire moveset is augmented by the clones from his other special. And then there is the fact that you get to buy skills and customize weapons on SW2:XL. I always add the skill that lets you enter special stance during attacks and put the ice element on his weapons, and he's a total beast. You factor in his level 3 musou and you can kill generals on almost any difficulty with relative ease. The only move he has that I can't find a decent use for is his C1. It's only real redeeming factor is it's ability to freeze. |

I like Hanzo very much, though Kunoichi is my favorite ninja of course.  I love Hanzo's moveset, the scythe fits him very well, as well as the chain, throwing stars, and use of ninjutsu. The clones in SW2 added a lot, and it looks like they last longer in SW3, which makes it looks a lot more fun. His new costume is amazing, definitely my favorite besides his alternate in SW1. Hanzo is a very strong character in the SW series and should return in any future game to come.
