Xtreme Legends or Empires?; The battle of the ultimate expansion!

Posts: 6,825 Group: Admins Member #3,636 Joined: October 5, 2006 Gender Male	In general, so not counting any removals of certain weapons not appearing in specific games; Which would you choose? So tell us which expansion you would pick if there were to be only one of each left in this entire world! And the choice was yours knowing that you've played either one before. Personally, I would pick Xtreme Legends because I'm more into getting the new items and the latest weapons for my characters. Plus, it having and going in closer with more depth to the known stories by adding smaller battles, etc. Thats the main reason and not because of just the Xtreme Mode, etc. I just tend to be a bit more interested in the Xtreme Legends expansions, as the Empires games get a bit older for me much more swiftly.

They should just put both of them together. That way you can play Xtreme mode, play with the voices in the archives, and create your own empire as well.

I like the strategy bit of the game and you can command your allies what to do which is quite useful especially in SW2 Empires where the AI of the allies are smart.

Xtreme Mode can bring you a lot of challenges, from DW5XL, Destiny Mode was awesome, and then there is the Legend Modes, the new levels and sometimes characters. The new items and weapons. Though I think that should just be included in the original anyway

Xtreme Legends is just an extension of what the original game should have, Empires offers a completely different style of play. You can setup various scenerios, finally have full control over your stupid AI allies and try take over the land with countless pre & mid battle options available. I would always pick Empires over Xtreme legends, it could do with some improving sure, but I find it offers a far greater replay value then Xtreme. Xtreme is basically the original and a little bit more, which means poor replay value to me.

Empires gives me a little taste of that and even a glimpse of my beloved Kessen series which none of the other Warriors titles can provide, that's probably why I rate it so much higher.

Posts: 2,324 Group: Global Moderators Member #9,417 Joined: August 28, 2007 Gender Female	If Koei was generous, they'd combine them into one... <_< I've only played DW4:E and have always refused to buy XL... seems like little things I can live with out. Besides, by the time XL is released, I'm always sick of DW anyways. XL for SW was the only feasible expansion, because SW1 had some major issues (one of them being that Hideyoshi wasn't playable!!) Empires provides more longevity, I think. At least the DW4 version did. You had historical and fictional campaign to work through and some fun verses modes as well.

It adds new modes, new characters, new weapons, and even new moves in the case of SW:XL. Empires basically just gives you control of your army which after the way they do it on SW2:E isn't that great of a thing. Plus it took away the ability to get K.O.s in the high hundreds without breaking a sweat because of the lack of enemies on stages.
