Zhu Rong's "I'm on fire today" is one of the dullest lines in the game. Which is odd, because everything else she says is just fine. I don't know why that one's delivered with such mind-numbing ... crapness XD

And all for stringing up Hideyoshi's VA by his toes ?!  I fully intend to max him out using points only ... I can't stand the castrated toad sound ¬¬

Me too I cant stand his voice in WO its worser than his SW one I loved his SW2 voice tho. and Lady Nouhime's voice I liked the one she had on SW2 also it was more interesting now in WO she sounds....like a vampire woman with a deep voice

The only voice I really hate is Wei Yan's. It doesn't even sound fun like it did in DW4 and DW5. Now it's just stupid. I even try to avoid killing officers with him >_>.

What does he say? "Officer..... killed...." Something like that. I think his sound in DW5 fits him well considering the way he looks.

Same here lol. I miss his DW4 and DW5 voice too. -_- I recently encountered a couple of the true musous in this game and omg... I was really disappointed when I heard Sun Ce's "Let's have some fun!" "Yahoooo!". They all sound like half dead robots when shouting their true musous out. >.<

~On the subject of the quotes and stuff..~

They need to do away with the unique general vanquished quotes altogether.

In the original versions of the game the way the "enemy officer defeated" Quote is unique enough that it gives a much greater reflection of the character than half assed cheesey lines designed to remind us of a character's personality. (IE, Lady Zhurong saying she's on fire to reference fire like she does in every other sentence cause' she's a fire goddess!!!!1111 so clever)

Maybe if english voice actors didn't typically give such lackluster performance the actual voice work itself would shine alone and not need badly written crutch phrases to remind us of a character's personality every ten seconds.

It's not the actual voice acting that's bad, it's the actual voices chosen for the characters that are IMO.

Some old lines have been recycled somewhat, except the lines in itself have been redone and sound better because of it. Whilst some are not so good.

Typically, it would be near enough impossible to purchase a game with so many characters and for all of them to have astounding performances. So therefore there's not much we can do except hope for the best.

Well, whatever anyone says, Jessica Gee and Grant George always do their best when voicing. Especially in this case involving Zhu Rong and Sun Jian. Besides, Chin and I have thought of a possible idea of having an interview with the two of them, specifically about Dynasty Warriors only. I've spoken to Jess and she said she and Grant would be happy to, but it must be DW related.

I doubted myself a bit at first, but I immediately recognized Johnny Yong Bosch as Yukimura in the first US trailer for the game. He's easily my favorite new voice out of the ones I've heard so far. Hanzo on the other hand, sounds like he should be narrating movie trailers instead of being a ninja.

No. The fact that I said that he sounds like he should be voicing movie trailers instead of being a ninja should have been proof of that. The noise he makes when he gets hit particularly bothers me.

From what i can tell, there saying he shouldn't be in the game (as a ninja's voice anyway ;))...meaning he doesn't like it
Whenever I see someone saying they should be a narrator I always think of the boring voice that drags on. Dunno why. I haven't played the game, but I don't think the guy said they like Hanzo's voice <_<

Hideyoshi - Terrible...just terrible.

Nobunaga wasnt that bad, but i still dont think it was eeevil enough.

Noh's voice on sw2 is much better it was more sadistic.

i dont think Dong Zhou's voice has changed much in a few series anyway not that im complaining cos i think it suits well.

I'm sorry what?

Most of the higher regarded US VAs(Bang Zoom VAs, Funimation VAs) are just as good as the japanese ones(sometimes better, Blum -> Ueda for instance)

Sure this game sadly has some kinda stinkers but for the most part the good actors do their jobs and do em good(so tired of the japanese actors are always better mentality)

As for some stinkers WO

Sun Jian, i'm sorry he may be doing his bext but he's to young sounding and IMO the actor isn't doing a great job of acting as him(and his voice sounds kinda scratchy also)

Jiang Wei, not good, pretty annoying actually.

Noh, kinda vampire like(not a bad thing) but to old sounding.

Mitsuhide, again to young sounding and not really intelligent sounding like he should be.

Kenshin = bleeeeeeeeeeeeeh.

As for some good ones? Keiji has improved over clips i've heared from SW2 E alot, i'd say this new Keiji is more like Ueda's take then Blums though.

Ina sounds pretty good actually also, seem to suit the character nicely and act ok as well.

Goemon, since we can't have his old VA back i was a little worried(RiP Bob) but the new one does a good job at doing Goemon's character i think.

Zhang Fei, like Goemon we can't have the best VA for the character but another good choice here.

Ginchiyo has that i'm just as good/better then a man/what good is a man sound and it fits the character and she acts ok as well.

Yeah it's weird, like, a lot of lines have carried over from DW5, with the same exact actors delivering them, but with much less emotion/acting for some reason. Like, Zhang Liao's "Enough!" at the end of his true musou, it was done well in DW5, but in orochi he just says it in a calm monotone. It's the same exact actor, and a good one to boot, as well. :/

While we're complementing the english VA (a rare thing these days) here's a few more imo:

Dong Zhuo: Same actor since DW4, I think WO is his best performance yet; he's got some great dialogue too.

Gotta give a mention to Cao Ren too; love his voice. I really miss it being Kenshin's voice too. Kenshin has gotten the short end of the stick in both SW2 and now WO as far as english voices go.

I was also relieved to see Zhang Jiao's voice preserved. His JP voice sounds absolutely insane and fanatical, but for the type of character he is, I think the evangical angle they did for his english voice fits better.

I hate Sakon's new voice! It's not bad but the one in SW2 is way better and fit his personality too! The line he says after defeating officer is cool in SW2 and in WO it's the same but it doesn't have that personality!

No, let's face it, Sun Jian wasn't that bad. The real thing that people are having problems with is he's not voiced by Steve Blum.

I am actually getting use to his new voice but yeah majority of the people missed his old Steve Blum voice.

For me, I actually like Hanzo's voice. I don't know what people are complaining about. It's deep and calm like most ninja's voices are.
