I liked Amuro's and Heero's in both Original and Official. They just seemed the coolest, and Heero with the Wing Gundam is my favorite character. |

Domon is my fave character, he just has a very cocky attitude and I like that sort of personallity. The Gundam he uses suits him also.

I'd say Master Asia for all of those. If you can towel whip mobile suits into submission, then damn...  Seriously though, I've always been fond of his character, as arrogant as he might be at times. And it certainly helps that G Gundam is one of my favorite Gundam shows. I'd probably put Char and the Hyaku Shiki at a close second. Edited by Hazuki, Oct 21 2008, 02:19 AM.

I really liked Amuro. It's because of Him that I got interested into the series as a whole (Wing never really blew me away, and Seed stood out..at first) He isn't a soldier, that's what made it a little more original. The fact that he still had a rival made things interesting, and being the first known Newtype also gives him more depth than most. Also, because he uses such an outdated MS through his story makes him even better in my opinion: You need a pilot and a suit. Without good performance from both, you're bound to phail. |

I'm sorry, I just have to speak out on this. Civilian pilots as protagonists is one of the BIGGEST cliches in mecha anime ever. It's like the complete opposite of original. Not saying it's bad, but Amuro is far from the first, or last, guy to crawl into a giant robot without being part of a military or without professional training. Now, on-topic... my favorite Gundam characters would be Garrod Ran, Shin Asuka and Kou Uraki, with Cima Garahau, Bernie Wiseman, Lunamaria Hawke, Nena Trinity, and Anavel Gato following up. For non-pilot characters, I'd rate Tifa Adil, Dorothy Catalonia, Wang Liu Mei, and Bright Noah high up on the list. |

It's a pretty hefty list, starting with Kouji Kabuto the pilot of Mazinger Z, which is the first piloted mecha ever. Yes, Amuro is the first Gundam pilot who is a civilian, but even in Tomino's previous series like Zambot 3 it was a civilian pilot as the star(nevermind they were just 12-year old kids too in that one!) After Amuro, we had Camille, Judau, Garrod, and several others who were civilians. It's actually rarer for a protagonist Gundam pilot to be militarily-trained and a soldier, and even moreso to not be a Newtype and still kick ass, which is why I love guys like Kou Uraki and Anavel Gato. |

Amen to that  My favorites are Anavel Gato, Char Aznable (more of Quattro for Hyaku Shiki's case) and Andrew Waltfeld.  Well because those 3 are awesome in their own right.

I see. Well, so much for "originality" >_> well it makes the characters interesting at least. I wonder how GM2 will regard Coordinators. Seeing how in other Gundam crossover games, they're regarded as Newtypes.. |

Yzak? Yzak is like Dragon Ball Z's Vegeta he's a character that you love to hate. Granted he becomes really cool later in Gundam Seed and in Destiny it's nice to see the banter and sense of comradery between him and the other former members of the Le Creuset team but in the back of my mind I can never get over what he did to that shuttle with the Orb refuges and that little girl Elle that thanked Kira and gave him an origami flower for protecting them. Anyway my favorite character's from some of what I've seen of Gundam are: From Gundam Wing: Duo Maxwell aka "The God of Death" it's easy to like this guy because despite frequent hardships, Duo tends to be upbeat and humorous, while having a sarcastic attitude but he's the only one in the series that's A. Not annoying and B. has a personality that consists of something other then being cold, an emo, or speaking like a robot. (He's the only reason I don't completely hate Gundam Wing.) From Gundam Seed: Mu La Flaga aka "The Hawk of Endymion" Well he's a natural ace pilot once destroying five ZGMF-1017 GINN mobile suits with his TS-MA2mod.00 Mobius Zero mobile armor, he has extraordinary skill and is quite the lady's man I love he's relationship with Captain Ramius as well as his comical personality and fatherly relationship at times to Kira Yamato and the other Orb civilians that become part of the Archangel crew. From Gundam Seed Destiny: Well this is really hard to chose since no one really stands out that wasn’t featured in it’s prequel Gundam Seed but I would have to say… Captain Todaka commander of Orb's 2nd Defense Fleet, While not a main character and not having much screen time this character I admire a lot he has much honor and courage not only does he defy orders from Yuna Roma Seiran by allowing first the Minerva and then the Archangel to escape from Orb but he play’s it off in such a cool way and manages not to get in trouble for it yet still follows every other order. The ending of this character is very tragic, honorable, and such a twist of fate that you can actually care for the character. From 08th MS Team: (My favorite series to date) Shiro Amada aka "Commander Newbie" now I got to say I loved this series from the moment it started… that being said he manages to make effect use of a RB-79K Ball K Type which to me is EXTREMELY impressive considering how I think they are useless pieces of ****. Not only is he the oldest main character in a Gundam series to date at the age of 24 according to my research but he is very skilled and manages to hold his inner conflicts in check most of the time while not forgetting and acting on them when the need arises. I also like the ending and the consequences of those actions while it is a shame of what happens to a part of his body it shows that Gundam character’s aren’t invincible while still managing to have a mostly happy ending. funny that at the end,only newtypes count in GM2,gundam fighters and coordinators are regarded as normal/inferior folks to the likes of newtypes! since they have no problem piloting a non newtype MS anyways my fave gundam character also came from military background,shiro amada! but since he has so little airtime i had to switch to the more powerful&charismatic *looks at avatar*  so in my list tohofuhai shiro domon others(young jamil neet is also here,it's awesome seeing an amuro clone control a squad of MS sized bits>.<) Edited by wodash, Jan 10 2009, 01:27 PM.

Hrmm character wise is a lil bit hard for me it's more of the mobile suits which make me like Gundam as much...but I do like Amuro, Heero, Kira and Char...Judau is nice too. As for girls I like Haman, Roux, and Lunamaria. Not really sure if I have a particular favorite althought I kind of somewhat give an edge to Amuro he looks kinda cool in his Char's counter attack image. XD |

I love Amuro if only because he is the Original Gundam... pilot. Also, his ridiculous not-quite-a-'fro and his occasional Wonderful Gay Love (tm) moments with Char. He's just a character I really find fun even when he's being stupid, which is rare. Mostly, I'm a Char fanboy though. I admit it! He's... awesome. Look at the legacy he's created. Characters are defined by their relation to Char, Usso is wildly speculated to be related to him (he's not, says Tomino), he's represented by at least one if not more characters in EVERY Gundam series since then, and he's awesome all the time forever, even if he usually loses to Amuro. That's the perfect rival, right there. Also, his Zaku is the most amazing Zaku ever, and in DWG1 it drop-kicked Wing Zero, which takes balls given how bad Wing Zero cheats. I also like Seabook, mostly for being "Gundam Pilot Classic", but awesome, and the fact that he actually fought hard enough to get his happy ending. Plus, he made his CHAR shoot himself in the face, which is hilariously cool. |
