Here's a few videos I made showing how much the game has improved over its predecessors. I'm still working on fixing the quality and sound issues, but you get the point.

Hah, thanks for posting my video. I have my PSP running at its maximum speed, so the loading might not be as quick on your PSP. There's tons of slowdown on the slowest speed, though.

I'll make more videos when I figure out how to improve the picture and sound quality.

Well your video is really good! Thanks for showing us those you're really good in playing Orochi! :D

I have a bunch of characters maxed out now, so I may make more videos soon. Depends on if I'm able to fix the sound and quality problems, though.

You should really do a video of one of the final stages, so we can see how well the PSP can take the stress of having to render a heapload of peons on screen.

Well there is dynasty warriors vol 2 and 1. I still think koei is overdoing this orochi stuff with a pc and a handheld. I think everyone would be more happy to see a dw6 portable more than a warriors orochi portable.

Not really, KOEI is only making some games within their arsenal (those that are popular) available for the PSP and PC. There are those people who don't have either an XBox 360 or a PS3 or PS2, so KOEI should also include the PSP and PC versions in their release schedules.

... it will probably not be out in NA until summer.

Wrong, the game's being released in NA on March 25.

foomin, what way did you get your copy? did you go through Amazon.com or something like that?

The reason I asked is that I have to wait for my copy, since apparently Amazon.com has it back-ordered even though I pre-ordered my copy on Feb. 26.

I already have the money to buy this game on PSP. I'm just waiting for it to be on sale on any place at my city.

So, how's the cooperative mode? Can you play with other people online?

I had this preordered at Gamestop so I picked it up yesterday. I imported Musou Orochi for my b-day last year (doin' same thing this year too <3) so I had never played the english version. Til now anyway XD Wow some of the new voices suck. Its really annoying that Xing Cai sounds like Da Qiao too. I'd rather have the squeaky voice. At least Ping still has his cute voice <3

That aside, this is a pretty darn fun port. None of the moving around on a minimap like the other portable DW/SWs.

i went to get SW2:XL and it was there at GameStop, the Mgr. seemed suprised, as she thought it was out a bit early, and they only got one copy. *shrugs*

i really LOVE the comic styled cuts and the speech bubbles, it gives it a really cool graphic feel, the VA sounds exactly the same to me, i think it might be the slightly tinny sound quality of the PSP that distorts, otherwise the game is visually identical to console version so far. it seems a bit harder though, i started on Hard difficulty and swiftly switched to Normal. the palette swaps are the same. but there is something odd about the Musou gauge, it does not raise as you fight, you must find a Musou keg or Dragon seal to utilize it? and the Musou's seem very short compared to the console version. the character switching using the directional buttons really threw me at first, but it's easily gotten used to. all in all i find it quite enjoyable, far more fun than the grid based system of the past DW/SW PSP games. i'll report more as i advance.

Musou can also be filled with the Absorb weapon attribute, Refill ability, and manual charging. Refill isn't much to speak of until it hits max level. At level 10, it can work surprisingly well for characters with cheap musou consumption.

I'm not terribly fond of using the d-pad to switch characters. It requires more thought and sometimes when lots of enemies are around it can be a pain to switch out. Of course it can't really be helped though since there are only two shoulder buttons and they are both already used for guarding and specials.

The comic style cutscenes are indeed rather spiffy though.

Too bad this is released on the same day as SW2XL. Guess I have to wait before buying it... Oh well, I bought SW: State of War recently and that should be enough to keep me busy until I buy WO PSP.

The good one is we have narrator and event movie has a voice acting :) I got addicted on this game I never got addicted on DW Vol. 2 or SW State of War on the PSP before but this one is fun!!

Also the 2P MATCHING is the best!

agreed Chin. i have not been able to put this down, i even take it to bed with me in case i wake up in the night *insomniac*. i have so far completed Shu and Sengoku, working on Wu to get my beloved Lady Noh now. this port is exactly the same as the console game, but for some reason i don't seem to get as bored as i did with the original. i love the graphic novel style cuts, and it's one of the best games i've played for the PSP(i have not felt like there are aspects of the game that were simply removed because of the port to handheld). it really does show that the PSP has the capability to be more.

it's a shame that the release was overshadowed by WO2 and SW2:XL, as many folks will pass on this because of it's duplication of WO. if you have $30, pick it up, you won't be sorry.

This game does need more promotions I think so many people don't realize it's a good game on the PSP (like me I didn't think it's good before until I tried it myself) 2P matching is awesome and everything is just very well done even the sound effect like when you're walking in the cave the voice will change like you're really in the cave or something (sorry for the bad explanation) but yeah because of the MO2 and SW2XL people totally forgot about this one. *insomniac like foomin* >.< Time for our beds, foomin lol!!

no, no. i understand what you mean. the sound is a little "tinny" because of the small speaker, but it's SO much better than all the previous KOEI PSP games. OH HELL...ZZZZZZZ! seriously, i'm lucky if i sleep 4 hours a night, it's so frustrating, i've tried all the prescription sleep aids...nothing.

This game is quite addicting. The other games I have gotten recently have been neglected because I'm spending most of my time on this one (even though I've done it all before XD ) I've gotten better with the character switching too. I wonder if they are going to do a similar psp release for the new orochi game later. I would find it pleasing.

I fear I may not play my other DW/SW games on psp much anymore.

I got it last saturday and it's strangely easier than my 360 counter-part for some reason.

I'm still enjoying it like, the controls are a bit hard to get used to coz I'm used to the map changing button to be one of the shoulder buttons but overall, I'm enjoying it. ^_^

Like Lu Bu Jr said, It's easier than the game for my Xbox 360. Waddup with that?
I hope to get my PSP fixed, and purchase this! It's so fun... 0.0

GOOD LORD! what has happened to Oichi in WO PSP? she is Devil Oichi, i took a 1st level Oichi on a five star stage, never switched characters once and she got through with only being hit once or twice and killed all the officers including Da Ji in 4 or five hits, i was playing on normal. is this just a glitch or did KOEI mess up and fix her stats VERY high?
