Oh well. Gives him versatility over the other archer characters when it comes to close quarters combat.

Sergeant Posts: 25 Group: Members Member #11,272 Joined: November 20, 2007	wheter u realize it or not huang zhong is one of the best damage dealer,just eq him with att,charge,arrow,quiver(if u are playing dw3 xl),fire arrow,defense and voila you got your self,1 hell of a damge dealer,but huang zhong is very unique to play with,different dw means different style dw3:use s,s,t(to stun the general)then shoot him with r1+t,then see the damage,u will know how strong huang zhong can be,for better result use 5th weapon,why?if u use 4th weapon,in no time u will lose a lot of arrow dw4:use s,s,t,with the eq set that i told you,in first stage where zhang fei is berserk(when you are fighting zhang jiao)you only need 3 arrow to knock him down dw5:use s,s,t,or just keep spaming triangle,if more enemy surrounding u,just jump and pres triangle,then spam triangle,if your hp is less than 25%,use true musou,the last hit is considered as arrow damage dw6:still have no clue because i havent play dw 6 musou orochi:this is the game when huang zhong is kinda lack of power in arrow shooting,but u can boost his damage by juggling,then use his skill

It wasn't until yesterday that I really started liking Huang Zhong. I always liked his moveset, but he never grabbed me as someone I'd love. But I went back and played DW5 at Mt. Ding Jun as Huang Zhong, and I just started loving him. I like all of his costumes from DW3-DW6. I liked his helmet in DW3, I like his helmet & attire in DW4, I like his attire in DW5, and I like his attire in DW6. The only thing I don't like about his DW6 appearance is that they changed his facial structure, as it's different than in past games. It's something I'll get used to, but I thought his rugged face was perfect for him. I also prefer him with a helmet. The only costume I could say I loved in DW5 was his 4th costume, which is a DW4 Alt that had roughly the same costume as his DW4 Primary and had a helmet with wings on the sides of the face. That costume was amazing. I love his moveset. His C1 bow attacks are amazing when you equip Huang's Bow & Fire Arrows. His C3 deals serious damage, his C4 & C5 can be effective if used correctly, and his C6 is great. I also enjoyed his jump charge. The only thing I don't like is his regular musou ending. He stumbles, and quite frankly, it makes him look bad. His true musou is kick@$$ though. I like his new and old swords. I liked the whole "His sword isn't pointed at the end" thing and I love the fat sword he uses in DW6. I can't speak about his VA in DW6, but I can honestly say that his DW4-5 VA ws one of the best in the franchise. It fit his look & character so well. His story is pretty good too. I can't remember much of it, but I really enjoyed him at Mt. Ding Jun. So overall I'd consider him my 3rd or 4th favorite character from Shu, and he'd be in my top 20 overall.
	Last 5 Movies I've Seen: 1 - Earth vs. The Spider (3/5) 2 - Ginger Snaps (5/5) 3 - Tokyo Zombie (4/5) 4 - Surrogates (4/5) 5 - 13: Game of Death (3/5) (* = one of my Favorite movies)

Looks really flat for pelts of fur. I'm disappointed that he doesn't do anything bow related in Dw6 though. Aside from his legend book ability, there's nothing which is a shame.

Probably one of my favorite characters due to his vigor and refusal to give up to his age, hes an inspiring guy!

Starting Soldier Posts: 59 Group: Members Member #15,107 Joined: April 28, 2008	Huang Zhong in DW3/4 looked weird dont remeber the diffrence of moveset between them and DW5 on DW5 he was ok beacuse of the Thunder/Ice Arrows Items (I Think It Was Them Elements) He his bad on WO in my opinion in DW6 his costume is cool and his VA seems more set for him in a way his moveset is terrible though (He infect Zhou Tai 2 )

Voice of Reason Posts: 279 Group: Members Member #16,694 Joined: July 10, 2008	Huang is pretty much the only Shu character i like at all. Just the way he is makes me think hes a badass. In dw6 he probably has the best looking armor/outfit. He has a great moveset and i really like playing as him. He is absolute garbage in WO cuz arrows do virtually NO damage but that is ok cuz hes still a badass with the rest of his moves. Hes always looked pretty kool and u never forget hes an archer. Even tho he has no bow attack in DW6, his new hunter look is awesome. Huang Zhong will always be my #1 shu officer.

Just that he's overplayed and outdone by many other Shu warriors. I guess his age might have something to do with his popularity, and the fact the games only highlight his event at Mt. Ding Jun. He does have some outrageous, also comical, attacks though - like his JC and his true musou. In DW6 he is dressed like an eskimo, but this appearance looks great altogether. Maybe a bit too much clothing for an experienced and old man however. I was upset when hearing his new pirate voice. I just loved his old cranky voice acting in DW5.

There were others that were clearly weaker, like Ina, but she still wasnt the worst. Actually worst character comes down to opinion, because Okuni is clearly the worst :P. But ya, alot of his attacks were weak and probably among my bottom 20 . I cant honestly say what his best game was. Maybe 4, but I cant remember everyones moveset from one game to the next, but he has always been a really decent character, I hope they improved his arrow attacks in WO2.

As Princess Sima Yi said, his DW6 was really cool, and his sword desing awesome too, and his cutscene with Yuan was epic! But what i really like about him is his personality, when he sometimes admits he is old, but in other he just feels like he turned 17 :XD, the dude has a nice comedic value.

What's really interesting about Huang Zhong is that you can clearly see how much he's probably mellowed out from when he was younger (and he still has that temper!). When he was younger, he was probably quite a bit like... Well, I imagine like Masamune, only much less of a jerk. Just very, very energetic. But what's great about Huang Zhong is that he knows where he's needed and he's always there with great enthusiasm (even if he is a tad impatient). Plus, as we've seen in DW6, the man can dress.

Frickheads! Posts: 3,661 Group: Members Member #4,250 Joined: November 19, 2006	I was never really fond of Huang Zhong due to his moveset in 5 but he has improved alot more over the series. From there, he can be fun to play with. His design in 6 is one of my favorites since it give him a much more fierce look in him.
