It seems that even with guides, this section is still unavoidable... *Shrug* Here is the collection area of common questions that people usually asked! Well, I have to collect up some Q & A from all topics here, but I don't really have a lot of time at this point now... I will update the Q & A part from time to time. This is also where you can ask any "beginner" questions as well, since the answer will be response and update to this Q & A on this post here! Sincerely, Pan2007 (December 12th, 2007) Starting The Game Q. Do you have to buy the game from the store like GameStop or EB Games or do you download the game onto your computer from online? Can you send me the website where you download the game if you do download it from online? A. Since Dynasty Warriors Online is only available to Japan and in Asia regions (Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) as of December 2007 (and probably even a year later). Of course, you cannot get this game from EB Games or any Western-regions stores yet. However, you can download and play it without any problem as long as you have Japanese fonts to display with (unless you are using Windows Vista, which already included all languages for you). You can download the game... by reading this guide here! But, please check Minimum Requirement first before you even go through those steps or else you will just regret for downloading the game client for so long, but unable to play it! Q. How much does it cost monthly? Or is it free? A. After the change from Dynasty Warriors BB to Dynasty Warriors Online on November 28th, 2007. This game is now free-to-play for battles with some additional stuffs that required to use real cash to get some items via "Musou Coins." (Think those stuffs as "Cash Shop" items then...) Q. Is this game now free to play, and allows you to battle etc? I believe before you were allowed to walk around town or something, but not battle without paying money. A. Yes! You can play battles for free now! Read the above Q & A! The Game Features Q. How is the character customization? Are there so many different combinations that everyone has a distinguished look? A. It is much more advance... So advance beyond your imagination! Even though it may not like The Sims 2 in-term of customize faces and such... However, it is much more better on character customization than the DW console versions. Weapons Q. What are the weapons that you can use in the game? Can you use all the ones from Dw and the new weapons exclusive to DW Online? A. The weapon that I listed here... and in my download able guide here contain the weapon list that available in DWO. Gameplays Q. How is the gameplay? Are the controls easy or difficult? A. It is really depends on how well you understand the game actually. Even though you played DW in console versions so often; however, that does not means that you will do well in DWO. Since the gameplay and the system in DWO have some differences, such as weapon slots, changable armors, constant troop spawns, etc. You have to practice to do well in DWO. Q. Are any of the characters from DW on PS2 in DW Online? A. Of course! How this game can be a part of DW if it does not contain DW characters from console version in first place! However, one warning though... If you approach them as enemies, DO NOT try to kill them. As they are WAY STRONGER than in console version and can kill you pretty quickly! In this game, you are just represent as a part of soldiers... that is... Unless you know the way how to kill him/her or you have your buddies around that area and try to gang mob to kill him/her. Languages Barrier? Q. Do you have to know japenese or chinese to be able to play the game or is it harder to play the game if you dont know japenese or chinese? A. If you understand Japanese/Chinese, that's the plus. You will be able to understand game more if you understand those two languages. However, even I know only TINY bits of those languages, I survived! I got Japanese/Chinese/Taiwanese buddies in game too! If you don't know at all, you still can survive, but you have to depend on guides and stick with English-speaker players. There are couple here, so don't worry though! Q. When speaking to other online people can you speak to them in english? A. If I cannot type English in DWBB/DWO, I probably quit this game right on my 3rd day of the gameplay! I am still need English to type romanji for Japanese too! Q. Is there a big English community? Or is it mostly Asian players? A. Thanks to onRPG forum... it makes Engilsh community getting bigger in DWO. That forum is the forum for online gamers who seek for an online game to stick with, so that's make us no surprise why there are more people from onRPG than this forum playing this game at this point. Q. Is the game translated into English? Or is it Chinese? A. This game already translated from Japanese into Chinese and Taiwanese. However, there is NO ENGLISH VERSION available at this time! However, there is the plan that the English version will come out... (According from US KOEI News (April 2006), English DWBB Trailer (May 2006), and GAMECITY/JP KOEI News (October 2007)), However, how long it will take to make the English one? Nobody knows, not even I know this thing... |

I am trying to register a DWO account and when it asks me to log into my Gamecity account, I put in my Gamecity ID and password, but it always returns me to the login screen and I cannot continue with DWO account registration. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? I am using the correct Gamecity ID and password and it just refreshes back to the Gamecity login screen. From what I can tell, there are no incorrect ID/password errors on the screen, it just refreshes to the same login screen exactly. Are there any problems with the Gamecity site at the moment? Or am I missing something? Thanks in advance. |

When the bar is completely gone, one of the stars will be removed, then the bar will reset. For funds, I guess the pawn shop and quests.

Here I will rearrange all Q & A... Q. Is there any way I can transfer my armor pieces without it being sealed when I change forces? A. Unfortunately, no... It's the rule that all armors are seal once you choose "Switching Force" (2nd option) on your bed. No matter what you do, your armors will be sealed Q.I am trying to register a DWO account. However, when I put in my Gamecity ID and password, it always returns me to the login screen and I cannot continue with DWO account registration. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? I am using the correct Gamecity ID and password and there are no incorrect ID/password errors on the screen, it just refreshes to the same login screen. A. Use Internet Exploer is the best option here. You may use Firefox as well. However, if you try to login with other browsers, it may not work correctly. Also, you have to let your browser accept cookies, or else you cannot log in. Also, somebody said that uncheck the "SSL Layer Login" box may solve the problem. However, that will make your login infos can be see by others (unsecure transection). Q. Is that bar under the life-def stats the durability of the weapon? If it destroys, can I repair the weapon and is it expensive to repair? A. That bar is "Durability Bar." It will start as a full cyan bar. As you use your weapon, this bar will start to decrease. The decrease rate will be based on the weapon rank and the amount of players in battlefield. Therefore, Rank 4 weapon's durability will decrease faster than Rank 2 weapon's durability and do a quest or do a NPC battles in Clash will make durability decrease faster than do full 4 VS 4 players battles. Once the bar hits around below 50%, the bar's color changes to yellow and below 20% changes to red. After the whole Durability Bar is completely gone, you will lose one RANDOM upgraded stars and you have to reinforce again to regain the stars that you lost. The cost to re-upgrade the weapon is depending on the weapon's rank and the amounts of stars that you upgraded to certain stats. Upgrade Rank 3 weapon will be cheaper than Rank 4 one and upgrade the Attack slot from 3 to 4 stars will be cheaper than from 4 to 5 stars, and so on. Alternatively, with January 2008 patch, you can repair durability bar right BEFORE the whole Durability Bar is gone, by click 2nd-to-last option and then choose which stones do you want to use for repairing (recommend to choose the one that you don't upgrade often, e.g. Life & Musou Stones). The durability will be refilled up back to MAX. However, this way, you will NOT be able to get "Special Upgrade" though. The cost and consumption of stones to repair the weapon is depending on weapon rank, but no matter which stones you choose to repair, it will cost the same for particular weapon rank. (Stones consumption = Rank + 1 Stones) Q.Which is the fastest (or the easiest) way to make money? A. The best way is to do quests and sell those awards (Usable Items) in Pawn Shop. My guide should contain the award list that list which quest will gives which items. Note: I am just completed all quests over again... So I will have to reupload my Microsoft Word file again. Q. I thought quests are repeatable? How come when i complete a quest it disappears from the bartender's quest list? A. This is the new DWO rules. Back in DWBB days, the quests in the bar can be repeat as may as you want. Now, you have to wait for like 2 days to make those quests that you done come back, same goes for other NPCs quests as well. Q. For the rare sake quest, I cannot find the thief? Any tips on how to find him? A. First, there are 3 enemies (red) bases. You need to take 2 out of 3 bases to make the thief appears. Thief will usually appear on the opposite position of the 2nd base that you take (e.g. thief will appear at the north if you take the south base as your 2nd one, etc.) Then after you kill thief, you have to run into one of ally's base that signals given (either south or east one), then the guy who has the Rare Sake will run out from the base and you have to follow him and kill him to complete the quest! Yeah, just look in all the rooms until you spot him. I'm not sure if he is in Shu, 'cuz I saw Wei Yan and Huang Zhong as Wu commanders
Commanders have different effects on your player and one of his/her commerce stats. I asked Pan if he wouldn't mind listing them, but I haven't got an answer yet. (here)Ex. Liu Bei gives +10 to Salary and increases your defense (from what I've read). I think Zhang Fei makes your musou stronger. I forgot what Guan Yu does, and I have no idea about the rest... Wu has a bunch of commanders  |

If im speak to Zhao Yun i have 2 choices the first he shows his effects and by the second there is a text but no idea what it means. |

Q. Can I serve under other generals (beside the force's commander) like Zhao Yun? If yes,how can i join them? The most often asked question ever, from DWBB days... I had been posted YouTube video about this for age, yet people still don't know how? A. This is the video about how to serve under other officers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ILkgnrPXHg You can serve under different officer beside the force's commander ONLY after you complete the "First Battle" (初参戦) quest (where you have to lure the Hyper officer to your commander and take base). That is ONLY time you can select which officer you want to serve, so please watch out! After you completed that quest, go to report your commander (in the officers' room), but you have to choose the FIRST option to tell him that "I want to serve with other officers!" Then, go to the room that have the officer that you wanted to serve (you may want to go every rooms if you wish). After you found the officer you wanted to serve talk to that general you wish to serve then choose SECOND option to serve under him/her! However, if you already got the quest (山賊征伐) from that general, along with 19 slots sealed 3rd weapin, then it's too late! You have to either delete the character and recreate one OR just deal with it... Q. Do they have effects on me when I work for different generals? A. Yes, they do! Each officer will give ONE "Domestic Affairs Values Boost" and ONE "Weapon Stat Boost." Therefore, in your info, the +10 and the up arrow on every weapons that you got are boosted by your officers that you are serving to. Sincerely, Pan2007 ~ Pan2008 (January 1st, 2007) |

I'm new to the game and have a couple of questions, i dont think I've seen them answered in any of the guides (sorry if i havent noticed it- just there are so many threads with useful information in them i may have overlooked it) Does the town you choose to start in affect your character in any way? Also is there an easy way to tell if i have completed a quest (or see which quests i have completeed and need to talk to the NPC and hand in) I know how to view what quests i have but cant tell whether i have to talk to the NPC or not. Also whats the difference between a mission being in white writing or yellow writing? |

1. It does not affect the character in any significant way--I've asked about this one when I first started out. We don't want every player from the same town, right? ^^;;; 2. To review the quests (and grades) that you have done, go to the "urn with scrolls" in your house, and choose the fourth choice. 3. White = Available, Yellow = Currently accepted (or needs to be turned in) When you're holding a quest for a specific NPC, try not to accidentally abandon it. For example: I go to the blacksmith, take one of his quests, then I access his quest menu again, then he will give you two choices; the first basically means "I still want to do the quest" and the second choice quits it (wait like 2 days for the quest to reappear). |

Thanks for the reply. I have another question- I read the guides and they said i need to do clashes to obtain stones to upgrade my weapon. THing is at the end of the clash i get a load of items, and im not sure which are stones or not. Could somone tell me what they look like(or post a screenshot of one) or even just write down the name of it. EDIT: Whoops i just read through the word file Pan made again and noticed there were descriptons of the gems in it. |
