Okay, here goes mine. Storyline: With all of KOEI's historical simulation game, including Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, Bladestorm, RoTK, etc, a very distinctive, diverse, and fascinating story exists. Take Dynasty Warriors for example. It tells the tale of the three Kingdoms Era of China, a time of great turmoil in which there were many prominent characters all vying to unite the land under their or their kingdoms rule. The telling of this story, from the Yellow Turban Rebellion to Wuzhang Plains(Even if it should extend further), is one of the two premier reasons I play the game. The same can be said of Samurai Warriors telling the tale of the Sengoku Jiidai, which determined the nation's future and led into the Edo Period. The telling of these histories through each chracter's eyes, if sometimes distorted, is the most interesting thing about the game as far as I'm concerned. Characters: The second main reason I play. Each chracter in the games have their own personalities, including chracter strengths and weaknesses. From the ambitious and cunning Cao Cao to the eccentric yet deadly Zhang He in Dynasty Warriors, and from the loyal and honorable Sanada Yukimura to the calm and patient Tokugawa Ieyasu in Samurai Warriors, each character has their own role to play in the era, with their own personal views and reactions to what is happenning, along with their own personal reasons for fighting. Without these great and diverse personalities, the game would neither be as enjoyable nor the same game we know today. |

I picked storyline and characters. These two things are always why I play Koei games. Essentially, Kou Shibusawa and Koei have consistently managed to [successfully] dramatize historical eras. In doing so, Koei makes them more interesting. Sometimes Koei weakly develops their characters, but when Koei does a great job, the result is brilliant. Let me give some examples: Weak Development: Xu Huang-"My quest for new dialogue...will have to wait." Strong Development: Toshiie-"Hey, everybody laugh at the Potato Samurai." [insert Potato Samurai song here] Kessen III was their best game for great plot and interesting characters, in my opinion. Samurai Warriors II, though, did a good job as well. The latter did a better job than any other warrior game in making the characters unique. In Dynasty Warriors, most of the playable characters have the same motives, dreams and ambitions. Only a few, like Dong Zhou, Yuan Shao and Meng Huo, stand out as different. In Samurai Warriors though you have: -A justice and honor loving freak (Naoe Kanetsugu)/. "Odawara castle may be impregnable...but it has one weakness. Its lack of justice!" -An arrogant but intelligent jerk (Mitsunari). "My plan is to take all the glory, while you do all the work." -Your valiant run of the mill warriors (Yukimura, TAdakatsu) -Lunatics (Fuma Kotaro, Noh, Maeda Keiji): "A monkey ruling the land? Chaotic, yes, but far too stupid." -Evil but diabolically clever Warlords (Takeda Shingen, Oda Nobunaga): Honganji General: My deities told me to strike the demon king down. Oda Nobunaga; Then your deities are screwing with you. They sided with me long ago. Honda Tadakatsu: I will destroy everything you throw at me. Takeda Shingen: What about kittens, Tadakatsu? If I threw those at you, would you kill them as well. Pragmatists (Date Masamune, Tokugawa Ieyasu): Naoe Kanetsugu: You fight only for profit. Honor shall strike you down! Date Masamune: Profit...Honor...what does it matter what we fight for? We're still sending men to war. Ishida Mitsunari: Even if I need to send 100,000 men against you, I will defeat you in the name of honor. Tokugawa Ieyasu: If you sent so many people to their deaths to defeat me, that's not very honorable, is it? Idealists (Azai Nagamasa...others?) Faith-Inspired Generals (Uesugi Kenshin): "Bishamonten, lend me the power to strike down my foes." Well, you get the idea. The character range is diverse, which makes each character's storyline interesting. |

This quiz is almost unfair for me, since I love every aspect of the games equally. I ended voting for the characters and voice acting. So much personality. I love it. Storyline, music, and gameplay would come in at a close "second", followed by the rest. But really, it's all good. It's just that simple. |

I picked Music and Gameplay. Music-KOEI's music has been awesome throughout DW, SW, ROTK, e.t.c series. I listen to KOEI's Stuff all of the time, every day. without warning. Initially, I joined KOEI Warriors because of the OSTS. The Game Music "brings spice" to a specific game, and i just cant play without music. That's Just ME. Gameplay- I picked this one because of Dynasty Warriors Vol.2 for the PSP, and gameplay for that game is ABSOLUTELY awesome! You can have SW2 Officers as your own, and you can have all of the DW5 Characters in the game. that's why i picked gameplay. |

Gameplay: Koei has a knack for giving their games different styles of gameplay. Some of them are similar(i.e ROTK) but most of all, they add something new to the mix. Characters: Koei creates characters with very distinct personalities as well as speech patterns. Some of them are just ridiculously annoying, some are insanely funny, and some are just plain awesome. |

i chose gameplay and storyline: Gameplay: i love the hack and slash genre, which is very distinctive among pretty much the majority of Koei's games, and the slight variations upon the one style, makes for and interesting change between all the games, so they arent all carbon copies of each other. Storylines: i like the historical storylines, even if they arent perfectly historical, they give a great outline of the period, what it was like, and what happened, who it happened, and who did it, which i really like, so at least when im playing these games, im learning something at the same time

My 2 favorite things about KOEI games are the Music and the Event Cutscenes Music: I feel that the KOEI hack and slash games would not be the same without the music. I enjoy listening to the crazy guitar riffs and beats while hacking and slashing away against enemies. It creates a certain atmosphere for the player and puts you into the game as if you were fighting there yourself. The songs are fast which really gets your heart pumping while playing. I guess that is why I go crazy mashing those buttons because of the music. Event Cutscenes: I think that the one thing KOEI should keep doing is putting more and more cutscenes in their games. I feel anticipation every time I play the story modes because I can't wait to see what happens next. It creates suspense for me and makes me want to see more. I enjoy watching the cutscenes because it gives me a break from the game and allows me to watch entertaining clips of my favorite warriors. The cutscenes remind me of the Three Kingdoms/Sengoku Era and how the stories really appeared. Whenever I read or see something about the Three Kingdoms or Sengoku Era I think back to the mini clips in the games that portrayed the real events. Without those entertaining cutscenes I probably would not buy another KOEI game. |

I pick voice acting and character
Voice-The voice actors are really good, they voice matches with the character, like ummm.....Xiao Qiao's! It matches her bright personality, and Zhao Yun always sounds heroic. Sometimes, when they talk it's really funny, like Yoshimoto
Character-They all have different personalities, and are special in their own way Some are funny, some are serious, some are brave, some are...just.... weird like Yoshimoto >> The characters appearences really match their personalities, but i don't get Dw6 Lu Bu.... overall, the characters and voices are good, and most match :3 |

I say characters and gameplay. Gameplay: Years ago I played a demo for what I remember was a game where you went out with a guy who had a giant club, and beat the living daylights out of hundreds of guys ridding on elephants in a massive war. That game was dynasty warriors, and I was in love. The first dynasty warriors I owned was Dynasty warriors 4, and I that game opened me to so many other Koei games I enjoyed over the years: DW4:empires, DW5:XL, DW5:empires, DT2, ROTK 7-11, Kessen 3, Warship gunner 2, Bladestorm, I like my KOEI games. Why/ Cause theres a fair bit of virarity in the main playstyles of thoses games, but all of them are war games where YOU, the player, get to leave your mark as a defining force in this game universe. Also you get to beat the crap out of very large armys with quite ease (most of the time) Characters: Along with playing a cool super bad@$$, you get to hang out with lots of cool people in these games, and you especially notice that in KOEI games you make your own character (DW:XL, ROTK, Bladestorm) I feel quite joyous being acknolaged by great heros of the past, but having lotsd of different characters in their games, KOEI makes it so there always someone you can relate to (Weither the young scolar Jiang Wei, or my look alike Nagamasa Azai B) ) These are my two main reasons I like KOEI games. |

Characters: This is what originally hooked me on Dynasty Warriors 2 when it came out, and even further in Dynasty Warriors 3. Some of the characters may be a bit cliché, but they all have unique personalities. Having a wide roster of likable characters rather than just mindless killing machines always adds depth to these games for me. Music: Some of the music in these games are a bit plain, but the ones that are good, are great! Certain tracks in Samurai Warriors 2 in particular would be my favorites. Music always helps me get into games and makes me want to stick with it, and having great music in the background of a war is the best for me.

Gameplay- There is one thing I've noticed through this whole series is that the gameplay is very fluid. It's easy to control your favorite character. The controls give me no problems.
Characters- The characters are awesome they all have great attitudes. Koei didn't make the mistake on giving them all their own personatlies. Some I like(Zhen Ji, Cao Pi, and Diao Chan) others well(Xiao Qiao, Wei Yan and Zhang He) not so much. There design's are awesome from Zhen Ji's Elegant Dress to Diao Chan's Beautiful Dancer Dress. All the characters are awesome and there is some one for everyone B) |

Characters: I really like the way koei goes really deep to find the characters costumes etc etc, and how they spend hours on end debating about which new characters r no characters that they wll put into the specfic game, someties they go to the forums because the japanese/chinese forums request zuo ci for dw5 if i remember correctly, so they dont just voice there wants in the game they go to chinese/apanese forums, but it would be better oif they checked the english forums aswell. with the designing that they do for the koei games they must use up like 100 pieces of paper a week maybe even a day for mponhs and months until they find the look hey want for xample john fastolfs look from bladesorm the hundred years of war, at first they would of probably had him in like robes but as weeks went on they would of been coming into his final costume. the characters are not all the same either, the all differ from warrior to warrior like zhao yun is always heric he is portrayed that in the movies and through his look and voice, diao chan is shown as this beautful alluring woman with a hint of mysterious also, so they ball are different they all have there own voice, there own storyline and there own warriors interactions, cos it would get boring if u wer playing szhu rong but she was just like xiqao qiao now would you? i sure wouldnt. there weapons play a big part in the characters aswel because each koei character has there distinct weapon if its zhuge liangs feather fan or kotaro fumas gauntlets they al differ and give each character a signature look Storyline: i love the storylines in koei game no matter if they are historical or even fictional i dont care i love them all, if it is from the three kingdoms era of chin, feudal japan or even they hundred years of war, koei bring in there own amazing and dictinctive look, from dynasty warriors start of the three kingdoms era of the yellow turban rebellion going all he way the wu zhang plains (it should go o for longer) and along that way they have some of the ost important battle that ever happened in history like hu lo gate (the downfll too dong zhuo) xia pi (lu bus death) and guan du (cao cao vs yuan shao). they bring in excitement and replayability for each stage whicfh brings in hours o fun for all of the koei fans. thankyou for reading this. |

I picked Characters and Storyline except I picked storyline by accident Characters = I choose characters cause each and one of them have different things to like about. For example I will give 10 characters a reason Gan Ning his cool moveset and cool attitude makes me wanna be like him Ling Tong He has a very unique weapon in DW5 and WO Ma Chao the best spear wielder ever Zhang He he may be a femine(sp) but the claws and the spear semm to be awesome Zhen Ji can kill people from playing her flute Hanzo the shadow is a cool thing to be Keiji His wildness his crazy Nene She is the only caring mom that spank you Kojiro Come On he's a vampire who doesn't like that Musashi the best sword wielder ever Storyline. What I like about the storyline is that every character gets a different storyline and that nobody should share the same storyline like what happened in DW4 |

w00t! My first time entering a KW contest! I chose: Characters: Each game, I love to see what new weapons for each character, the costumes, the voice, personality (if it changes...), and everything else that has to do with the characters. And, I just LOVE games with large character rosters. Which is why im not too impressed with DW6 right now, but I gotta play it first. Storyline: I love the storyline with games. I like to see how each new dynasty warriors game follows the events of ROTTK. I also like the character interaction as events happen. The event cutscenes are really cool, too. |

For me it's Characters and Storyline. Up until DW 1 I knew nothing of Chinese History. This game sparked me on a quest that to this day continues. I know of no other games that could drive me to study history and the people who lived through it. Now of course we all know Koei doesn't always follow the storyline, but it sends me back to the novel and history every time. I will say that SW has had this same affect. If schools could bottle this, we all would have finished with a 4.0

Characters: I really like how colorful Koei portrays some historical figures in their Warriors series of games. As debatable as some characters maybe (Zhang He's portrayal in the Dynasty Warriors series is a big one, as well as maybe Xu Chu and Yuan Shao), I find them all to be incredibly likable, and adds a subtle element of relations between the characters and the player. Music: This one's easy. I've always loved music, and because I never spent the years need to learn to play an instrument, I've always appriciated musicians, regardless if their skill. Koei did a great thing in keeping great music to game to. Even when I'm not particularly playing a Koei game, I could listen to their soundtracks to other games, and it'll work absolute wonders. Also, some of their songs (the encyclopedia music for most of the Dynasty Warriors/Musou Orochi games, Arena for DW3, etc.) are perfect to listen to when I travel. |

Characters: There are such a wide variety of characters with different personalities that match their skill, power and intellegence. I love how they are such unique characters and have such interesting purposes. There hasn't been one character that has disappointed me from all the characters Koei has made, for their games. I also love how they have to do with real beings that once lived but in a more science fictional manner which makes you want to learn more about those characters history. The characters are deliciously eye catching to the audience because, the armor they wear, the weapons they use, the powers they may have, the hair, everything that makes a person want to say, "I like Him/Her". Koei seems to have that a lot in my opinion. They also do such a great job in modelling the characters, and make them perform like gods and become instant legends. Music: Koei never fails with their music in their games. I always grew with these awesome songs that go, so well with the background, the emotions and loses and victories. They always keep themselves original and keep making crazier beats as more games come along. I really think this is a huge favorite thing on many peoples list because, the music gets you hyped and makes you want to cope with it in some way or form. I love how legendary Lu Bu's theme is and it keeps getting better everytime a new title is released. I love how many of their songs become memorable and something worth listening to when you beat up thousands of soldiers in they games. Their songs really catches peoples attention and that is what makes the music for Koei, be one of the greatest of all time. Those are the top two of my favorite things about KOEI Games. |

[SIZE=1] Hi I'm new here and it's my first time joining a contest.... For me... I pick CHARACTERS = I love the way they are created! Each of them has their unique qualities and I can even relate to their personalities. KOEI really brought justice to their characters...Historical or fictional, it does not matter for they are exquisitely made! and MUSIC = As a music lover, I really appreciate KOEI's music...so unique...and so groovy...It really helps me while I'm playing and every stage has its different music which really suits that particular stage. Did you know I even danced at one point where the music was so groovy...(embarrassing really) |

I voted for characters and presentation (other). Character portrayal is always important in a game. Otherwise you'd have like the most unmotivating product ever. Koei however is good at nailing this. You get a wide range of personalities whereas other things be more uniform with a few peculiar individuals out of the bunch. Its easier to find someone you can relate with in a koei product simply because of the wide range koei produces. I wouldn't be surprised if one were to have a favorite character of all time be from a koei production with their wide range of designs and persona. Plus koei has good character designers. Most of whom do a good job of designing nice outfits that fit very well with the character it was intended for. Now I pick presentation because its a key component of any visual medium. Koei is well known for making games based on the battlefield and not just small encounters in small locations. But a giant battle doesn't feel like a giant battle if it doesn't look like one. Koei is good at doing just that. If you happen to run by soldiers, you'll either see them moving to the next place of engagement or see them in the midst of battle. At a siege you'll see the appropriate tactics being used. Archers or musketeers would be positioned logically according to what they should be doing and other things like that. If the battle calls for a tense atmosphere, the music would be accordingly appropriate. The menus would look like something you'd expect out of whatever the setting has been made to look like. Objects can even be anachronistic yet still not feel out of place once you look beyond the obvious nature of its misplacement. I'd have more to say but it'd be all running long and seem totally off topic. |

Characters: The characters are so diverse in such a great variaty, so many hve their own great personalitys such as SIma Yi and Wei Yan, They have evolved greatly and look almost perfect with great graphics, truly the characters are the best part of the DW series without them, would we be here? My choices are Music And characters becuase first of all i think a KOEI game should have good music to bring exciting atmosphere in the battles and to make the game have more drama within the movies. Secondly Having good characters in KOEI games is a must have because we have our favourites and they are real historical characters so we take more intrest in them and because they a playable in the games we have more fun when choosing them. think for both of these catorgiries KOEI do an ace job on them, they produce beautiful and kick ass music and they make the guys look great and the wepons they weild are amaing and Sooo HUGE!
