I know that know one probably cares but I wanted to post anyway.

He is the president and prophet of the LDS church in which I belong to.

He died last night at 6:30 Mountain, US time. He was 97 years old.

This was really big news in the state of Utah, which has the highest LDS population in the US.

I would say about 75% of my highschool is LDS. About 50% of us decided to dress in formal sunday clothes for today at school in honor of him.

97? Geez I really don't see what's the big deal with that. He lived a very long life and to expect him to live longer then that is a little too much I think. All things come to an end, and I think this guy died satisfied.

Not saying that I or anyone else expected for him to live longer. I knew it was toward the end of his days. It was just because he was our President of our church for 13 years and a high authority for most of his life. Just honoring him is all, what is the big deal in that.

I guess there isn't anything really dorogotive about doing that I guess. But the issue of some little known leader of a religious cult dying of natural casues isn't really an issue much people care for. Nor do I care for religious people in general. So it seems kind of pointless to point out the death of a person that not too many people outside the state care much for.

Well, there is no harm in it, I just wanted to point it out.
Besides, my religion is no cult and is in no ways small.
We actually have about the same amount of member as the Jews do. and since are numbers increase faster, we will have more then them in just a few years.

Yeah I guess there's no harm in pointing it out. Just don't expect anyone to care.

Every religion is a cult. Because a cult is a group of people that give devotion to something. Being that your religion is showing devotion to god, then that would mean it's a cult. Cult isn't exclusive to religion either, a group of Trekkies would be considered a cult because they show devotion to Star Trek. There's nothing dorogotory about being in a cult, seriously what did think a cult was?

When I said small, I meant that the religious group is small in comparison to the rest of the world and their groups and the fact that the cult is only known regionally.

What was irrelevent with what I just said? ;) I only stated what the meaning of a word was and how small a group is in comparison to other groups as to oppose his statement. I never really said anything that was directly religious.

Now that that misunderstanding has been cleared up, let's get back to the topic at hand. RIP Gordon B. Hinkley.
