it's commonly thought to be September the 18th. that is the date i have seen most frequently on other sites. but it will be in September that is confirmed. edit. IGN is giving a date of September 23, 2008 for both PS2 and 360. go here: http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/142/14255583.html credit for this find to Zhun. |

honestly, i don't believe that an exact date has been confirmed, i still keep seeing September 18th quite a bit too. but it does look like its either going to be September the 18th or the 23rd. KOEI will give a date shortly, i wait for that usually, anyhow. |

Same here ... Chin posted on KW site that it is the 23rd (matching IGN's date), but I'm surprised that no press release announcement from KOEI US has been made yet

i'm a little surprised, as well? i thought that it might have something to do with waiting to announce the OL VS Mode, but since that is now not a factor...*shrugs* they've never been ones to rush to an announcement. it'll be soon though with the game three months away. |

He appears as an enemy in most of the stages he's in, IIRC. I would assume evil Maybe Crimson or someone else with the game could provide further info

Hmm..I don't really know for sure, but he sides with Kiyomori which would automatically mean he's on the evil side. But maybe he's just forced to be evil, but I don't know much of the story. Just my opinion

I don't have the game but I've read that he's in the evil forces and has no choice to fight for them until he's freed by Kiyomori Taira. Whilst in Journey to the West, its Xuanzang who free's him. |

Well, pretty much anyone who have seen my shenanigans would realise that Shin Orochi is my favorite character. Firstly, he is like a more broken version of my favorite character Orochi and he looks way more cooler than the original Orochi. My favorite Story mode would have to be Orochi's as we learn his rise to power and how he manage to get people like Zhuge Liang and Maeda Keiji into his army. My favorite stage would have to be Itsukushima or Yamataikoku. Itsukushima becuase it has many opponents to play against and the music and the stage design is really awesome. For Yamataikoku, it's quite a big stage and once again, the music is awesome. |

I heard that his story crosses over from WO to WO2, so I guess its true. I like how they are showing us how he rose to power and got those officers you listed. And so does his story end as if it ended in WO, or beyond that? Like 2 levels in WO, and the rest in WO2? I know little about them since I've watched a very few amount of cutscenes due to me wanting to wait. |

Himiko usually calls her Dakki-chan  which stage did you hear that? and btw kids in Japan often call people Nee-chan and Nii-chan from what i heard.

*beamblasts LDZ in the face with Starlight Breaker* Sun Wukong is helping Kiyomori willingly. Partly as a debt for freeing him from confinement, partly because he's in it for the lulz. Orochi's story is entirely pre-WO. It ends before Wei/Shu/Wu/Sengoku stage 1. And yes, Nee/Nii-chan is often used by children in reference to people older than them. |

So Sun Wukong doesn't really care much for this inter-time conflict? If you're a true WO fan, then you'll probably do this, in order: 1. Play WO2-Orochi story 2. Play WO1-Shu/Wei/Wu/SW Story 3. Play WO2-Dream Mode stages 4. Play WO2-Shu/Wei/Wu/SW Story |

The only problem with that list is that you'll have a HUGE gap in between 3 & 4 ... Some Dream Mode stages will require a TON of gameplay before unlocking  I do plan on starting with Orochi's story myself, but I am re-playing WO story modes now to refresh my memory since I won't have the time to play them all again once WO2 releases. Dream stages will be last for me, the icing on the cake I guess you could say

Oh naturally thats a given. I myself won't even be touching the Dream Mode stages until all 28 of them are unlocked, so I can play through all of them. I think I'd be following my own formula when I've already beaten WO2. Of course the main problem are the Dream Stages due to their questionable place in the canon. |
