i have a general question:
why is ranmaru a guy!?
Ranmaru is just young looking, and yes the girl va does add to that, but boys have feminin sounding voices when young. I personally am glad they gave him more of a manly type personallity in SW2 at least. His clothing is a tad bit feminin too, but I dont think that much. It is a very dumb way to ask the question though, "why is Ranmaru a man?" I dont know if you are trying to act trollish there, but you could have phrased it in a much more mature sounding way. I think people need to stop hasseling the Ranmaru/girl issue.
my bad...i thought koei was trying to make him a transgender or something. had i known ranmaru's actually history, i would've understood

With Orochi X unlocked, I'm pretty much finishing up some loose ends, getting Almighty for all characters (Won't be that hard), getting all characters to level 99 (No problem) and clearing all Dream stages on all difficulties (No problem).

I gave my Sun Jian almighty, and it was a HUGE relief to be playing as him again and not using him a suicide prof dummy.

With Sun Jian being used again, the suicide method for proficiency is gone, but I don't care. I may get around to getting all characters to max prof, but no more of this grinding business, I'll just get it casually.

As soon as you can bear it, you should take Almighty Sun Jian back to Itsukushima to exact revenge for the many times he was killed there :XD

Jian's voice makes me want to stick pins in my stomach lol.

Woot! All I need is the Phoenix Wing and then I will have all the treasures and Yamatai! Tell me, is Kotodoma Runner used again for the stage? I loved that track!

Naturally it is. A perfect track for one of the greatest Warriors stages of all time.

Im still just leveling random characters, i dont use a grinding system. I dont want to waste my rl time just to unlock a bundle of pixels in a game in wich you dont really need another powerhouse since every single character is one already when maxed.

I hope sw3 will be announced for ps3 soon, but will still prolly be 2 years before it gets to my country anyway, or maybe never and ill have to get it in other means like wo2 itself :/

Well, what was the last ive been doing, yea unlocking more skills with characters i hardly ever play with like cao cao, liu bei, sun quan, xu chu etc. Some of them arent that bad, cao cao is actually good but being a spd type its easy to get interrupted. Gladly xu chu's belly flop helps.

Also, i just found out how extremely overpowered Xiahou yuan is now, his R1 attack is just absurd... Ive been 1 hit killing final-bosses on 1before last stage on normal diff with it when he was just level 10..

I finally got my hands on a copy of it today. As some may already know I've been holding out for a 360 copy...but just gave up. It's absurd how little of them there are around here, so I've just got a PS2 copy now.

First impressions...I love how Sakon has a more defined role in the Samurai story, and the Vs. mode is not too bad either, although obviously it's nothing like Tekken. I keep running backwards thinking it will allow me to defend and then end up get stabbed in the back. >.<

That aside, I find it pretty easy really, battle tactics are much alike fighting officers on the larger scale battlefields. Just defend then attack once an opening presents, rinse and repeat.

Yeah cool, you've got one copy at least, Fayt :P (PS2 instead of 360 as I've bought too, WO2 was already hard to find so, I took it on PS2 when I saw it XD)

Sakon is the leader in SW story, he's great in this role :) WO2 is very easy next to WO1 XD Hope you enjoy playing it (after all this long time to wait your copy XD)

Argh! I want this game soooooooooooooo much. I can't decide what Console to get it for actually... 360 would be better probably, but I could get the PS2 version more quickly, as it most likely costs less.

For now, I'll have to live with only having the first. I still have loads to do on it anyway... so It doesn't bother me much. But yeah, can't wait to get my hands on WO2.

Orochi is so weak. I don't even understand why every kingdam have to fight along side to defeat him.

Wouldn't the story be more interesting if all the kingdams where against each other like in DW and SW. They all should want to conquer their land for their own just have Orochi as another Dong Zhou.

That would have made the story so much more interesting as it is currently.

Partly why I've said I wish for him to not be revived again. It'll be overkill in my opinion. Though it would have to change its name? Unless the exclusive characters to the series were removed (I wouldn't like that unless they gave us new characters from DW & SW instead.)

In a 3rd orochi warriors, i do hope that indeed the whole of DW will come together against the whole of SW, that would indeed be very interesting. The story should also be more map based (little bit like empires but not to much) so that you have a better overview of what the hecks happening. And the collectible items and weapons should come back instead of the overpowered put items on weapons manually system.

Im sure it would be a way better game then. Im 100% positive of it.

Anyway, currently ive just unlocked a stage with yuan shao, nene and someone else, dream mode. It was fairly easy but nene leveled up to lvl 35 from 1 in that single stage lol. That girl is extremely powerfull with her R1 tap then Triangle everything around you lolol, just a knife shield and nothing survives :D
Im glad i just finished getting all sun jians special skills cause the character is so weak, no offence to those who like him, he does have a few interesting tricks like the fire R1 and the inf. mousou R1, his Jumping charge is also improved but really, i had the most difficulty surviving with him (i always play on either hard or chaos, also with new chars mind you, but when sun jian was lvl 50 i still struggled with him on hard, must be cause hes a SPD character but then again i didnt have it with caocao who also is a SPD char... hm..)

Im just randomly picking chars, getting their 4th with sun wukong (its fastest anyway) in wei 1 and then i do a mousou mode with the chars to get all their special skills unlocked. At least the game is relatively fun that way. If i were grinding i would quit within a half hour and not touch the game anymore in a week.

edit: about the post above me, WO2 was called maou sairin.
Maybe its a good idea to let the gods rebel against humans because in WO2 they have seen how powerfull humans are, ofcourse some gods again join the humans (like fuxi and nuwa) but others will fiercely attack humans, while this happens fuxi and nuwa will be seperated in two camps namely the SW and DW camp and will become forced to fight eachother because the gods state an ultimatum that if one side wins, they will leave the world alone ofcourse this is but a scam to thin out the earths forces and eventually the gods will rampage upon the winner.

Hows that for a dam story huh :) (yea i know, me being a writer and all )

Hmm... that would be fairly interesting and possible with Orochi out of the way... but if thats the case, maybe we should add lets say 5-10 new god characters to even the odds and change the title of the game probably as Orochi is out of the way...

I think 4 new god characters would be enough, thing is orochi warriors is beginning to turn into a mashing arcade the more characters get in as the less expanded the battle system, the less story and the less depth. Unless you want to wait for a game 5 years. Games have to be made, every detail has to be scripted. People often want to much. I rather have a game with good depth, replay value and detail than a game like WO2 turned out to be, lacking it.

Ok, I have a question. It´s probably been answered already but I don´t want to read this whole thread since I´m trying to avoid spoilers.

So, question is: Is there a japanese voice-option?

Nope, no Japanese voices. I think Samurai Warriors was the last Warriors game where JP voices were included...

I'm also hoping that in the next WO Samurai and Three Kingdoms start to fight against each other. All leaders have their own ambitions (like we've seen in past Warriors games) and it would be just weird if they could all get along for the rest of their lives. Besides, now that some characters have switched sides (Pang Tong is with Wei and Guan Ping works for Samurai/Nobunaga, for example) things could get quite interesting.

Actually, the last time I saw a JAP Voice option was for the Xbox version of DW5.

At first I thought that the original storyline of WO was its blessing, as it provides many opportunities for storytelling, but I have doubts on how they will handle a 3rd storyline.

i really disliked the ambiguity of the first WO Storyline. it just smacked of laziness and poor reasoning. i am far more satisfied with WO2 in terms of Story and content. i would hope that KOEI continued to follow their path of adding Others 2 to the mix. there are so many options that would enhance the the standing O2 characters and add more opportunities for character interaction at the same time. Lady Shizuka, Zhu Bajie, Amaterasu/Shiranui, etc. i've discussed this further in the Ideas for WO thread.

Yeah, I was a lot more satisfied with the WO2 storyline than the WO1, not to mention that the Orochi storyline was awesome to play.

But if they just end up resurrecting Orochi again in WO3...

i'm sorry, i realize i was not clear on that part. i'm entirely ambivalent to Orochi being the Antagonist in following Orochi titles. he could be a factor, but i agree with the idea of the DW/SW leaders becoming more antagonistic towards each other, and a more Story driven plotline expanding on all the little sub-texts portrayed in WO2. i want to know why Himiko was devoted to Da Ji, and more about the Zhu Rong/Ginchiyo friendship, and how Sakon and Zhang Jiao got to be buddies.

the addition of more Others 2 characters could also be used to expand the Stories in that faction as well. explain why Yoshitsune dislikes Kiyomori, and where Himiko came from, and more about the origins of Orochi and Da Ji's prior relationship to Da Ji. these all would make for a well rounded Story, in my opinion.

and how Sakon and Zhang Jiao got to be buddies.
That's something that started in WO1 - In the Samurai Story stage where you unlock Zhang Jiao; it's Sakon's coalition he's a part of (which is also where Okuni and Xiao Qiao met and became buddies).

I'm not too upset about the storyline in WO1.... I actually liked the Gaidens. Each story felt that much meatier to me, compared to the narratives in WO2.

That being said, the continuity was really streamlined in WO2... something they had to consider, what with them deciding to do a sequel to the game that was supposed to be the PS2's swan song.

As for a 3rd storyline, personally - it's sort of clearly going toward the direction where the forces of humanity will realize what Heaven's intentions really are, how they actually act, and there will be a split between humanity themselves.

The major themes really play to this - Taigong Wang realized that humanity has the potential for growth, Nu Wa now has major reasoning to consider humanity a threat unto heaven itself, Fu Xi consistently played a parent role when it was uncalled far, and Orochi's entire story was about being able to choose in a system that's already condemned him. The only choice he believed he had access to was the choice to die or be controlled forever; Keiji recognized that and that is why Keiji aligned himself with Orochi. Orochi had no freedom, and Keiji realizes how horrible that really is.

It'll be four major viewpoints - humans who don't support the Heavens and mystics controlling lives, the mystics whom support humanity having free will, the mystics whom support a parental attitude towards humans, and the humans whom support the mystics controlling our lives.
