right, silly of me not to remember that connection. i guess i always associated those three(XQ, Lady O, and ZJ:the dingy triumverate) together. and sort of sidelined Sakon. he's never been a favorite of mine, but WO2 kind of made him likeable to me with his semi-indecision and second guessing himself. and one other thing that i hope KOEI do not renig on, is the humor. sometimes their funnies are just a bit bland in the main series. but i actually find myself laughing along in Orochi. |

I honestly think that both WO and WO2 have weak stories overall. All forces have the same goal in both games (WO1: Rebelling against Orochi, WO2: Getting rid of Orochi once and for all) and that makes them too similiar in my opinion. Granted, Orochi's story in WO2 was something new but that story was full of really annoying plot holes. Also, like some reviewers have said, it's ridiculous that "story" is explained during the cutscenes and conversations before/after the battle. Why in the heck nothing happens during the battles >_>? That's what I would like to know... Edited by LoW, Sun Nov 9, 2008 10:50 pm.

I think this is probably the last installment in the Orochi series. Orochi's dead, for good, and I don't think even KOEI would be so shallow as to bring him back again (even though I think half of KOEI's story team keeled over trying to get the story for WO1 :P) Orochi's dead for good. I think all they can do at this point is make an Xtreme Legends or an Empires. |

From the sales, you can tell there will be another. And instead of Orochi returning to be the final baddie again, you can almost be certain that if he does return? He'll be siding with humanity (almost assuredly against Heaven). |

I don't know, him siding with Humanity would be really wonky. "O Hai Orochi, we forgive you for bringing mayhem to the world and causing an inhuman amount of Time Paradoxes, you can join us." Orochi'd probably be considered a "Kill on sight" if he came back. Only way I can see him in another Warriors game is as a bonus character (Like Gyuki and Dodomeki, they don't have any real role in the story and free mode, they're just there.) If he does come back though, they better give him another look, I hated how they gave him Sephiroth Syndrome in WO2. (White hair and black attire) |

Not necessarily Sephiroth Syndrome. Look carefully and it's not much black. More of blue and gray. Anyways, if there was a WO3, there have to be an Orochi (it wouldn't make sense to have an Orochi game without the titular character now would it? ). Probably..er..revived again? And fight with the forces of good or something? I'd love to see a good Orochi for a change.

Hey guys, I've read a few different topics myself but I am still somewhat lost. Can anyone answer my queries please? - Dream 27 : What is that actually? Another optional dream stage? - I heard someone mentioning about Dream 27 and Orochi X. So, I can only unlock one? Or? - Prof count. Does the game have a counter or stuffs like this? |

1. It's just like any other Dramatic Mode stage, just the last you'll probably unlock. 2. Since the requirements of Dream 27 is the hardest to get, it will most likely be the last you will unlock. And probably by then, you would have completed all the other Dream modes (unless you want to do it all after you unlock all stages) and completing all nets you Orochi X. 3. Yeah, just right below the character's Life,Musou,Attack Defense just like in WO1. You can only see this gauge in the preparation menu before the battle though. |

Hey thanks! Well I did attempt to roughly estimate the Exp required for one prof level up and using a level 1 Yoshimoto, I manage to gain just 70% of the prof level after killing 300 officers. OMFB pretty.. time consuming, is it not? |

Still, reviving him again would just be a bad move story wise. >_> Plus he was killed in his true form, Kiyomori's dead, so I don't think Da Ji would bother trying to get him revived again. Even if he did come back, I doubt the good guys would let him fight against the Mystics if the Mystics tried to take over. Considering all he's done, they'd probably shoot him on sight. I still think our best bet's an Empires or Xtreme Legends (I'd love an Empires though.) |

Agreed. There is no mention of how he met Lu Bu, or what happened to Tadakatsu. |

Someone mentioned that the Lu Bu vs. Tadakatsu cutscene in WO might shed some light on how Lu Bu just all of a sudden ended up with Orochi. Though, I don't remember seeing anything on Tadakatsu ... |

It's just bothering me still for some reason. Lu Bu wants to be the one to face Orochi in the end of course. But how Tadakatsu just ended up being the game's vigilante is just...wierd. But Ieyasu mentions him at Edo in Orochi's storyline. Dont really know the historic timeline that well, but I'm guessing Tadakatsu wasn't alive around then. But then neither was Hanzo, and he was at the battle... Whatever, I'm just confused

Yeah, you can't forget that Orochi warped both time and space. This explains why characters like Zhang Jiao and Lu Xun are able to fight together. Ieyasu moved to Edo during the Sekigahara Campaign and Tadakatsu was still alive at that time. Hanzo was dead at that point, though. Guess he just came back from the dead since... "Shadows never die forever" >_>. |

I guess it just shows the price you pay for having too many characters, when one of the most iconic crossover matchup characters (Tadakatsu) is seemingly left out of the storyline with no way to account for how he got there or what he was doing. I mentioned in the character comparison topic that Tadakatsu really got messed up during this whole "warped time and space" deal. Like, he couldn't think of anything better to do than to guard an altar. In WO2, he is there to send his daughter off to battle alongside Zhang Fei. I don't recall him doing much else in the story. Maybe that explains why KOEI put him in 2 Dream stages ... |

Tadakatsu is used quite a bit in dream stages as an opponent as well. There is his appearance in Dream 1 where he's back to SW2 status (music and all). But a Sun Quan C5 fire juggle put that theme to rest quickly Though I expected more from facing he and Lu Bu at the same time in the Escape from Itsukushima Dream. |

Hehe, Flame juggle FTW I'm finding that in this game I am using more of each character's movesets than in the last WO. Take Sima Yi, for example: - In WO, I would use his C4 and his R1 ... that's all - In WO2, I end up using C3-C5 (don't have C6 yet, I guess), jump cancelling into his normal or charge jump attack, his R1 and occasionally his musou as part of a musou chain. I guess watching all these videos of better players has led me to expand my methods of play style. Doesn't mean I'm any good at it yet but I am enjoying the playthrough more this time around as a result. Now that I reclaimed my old laptop from its former location buried under boxes of makeup (Neice ) I might be able to finally post some videos. Don't expect anything special though, since I'm still using fresh characters and Ability farming. May put up a Jeweled Branch walkthrough though ...

So I'm clearing Dream stages on Chaos. Only gotta clear Dreams 1-7 and Dream 9 and 10, then I've gotten the 3rd wallpaper. Problem is when I get into weapon deadlocks, there goes my Almighty. How do I beat weapon deadlocks on chaos? It's impossible! |

By pressing super duper fast and making sure you're the one who initiated the deadlock in the first place. That said.. not easy at all. |

How do you even get in weapon deadlocks with Almighty Whenever I put almighty on, it doesnt even give the enemy a chance to strick at you before killing them, at least when I use it. I am the master of deadlocks, I have such fast thumbs, i dont think ive lost one in this game yet. I remeber playing with my friend in WO, he couldnt even win one on easy he was so slow

Me... I rather suck at deadlocks I'm still trying to unlock Dramatic Stage 2 and 27 right now so it'll take a while... I keep on asking my brother to play Vs Mode with me but he dosen't want to because he always complains about how he gets knocked out of the ring and he wish it was more original... well, its not like I complain when I lose to him every time in Pro Evo. Soccer for the past 5 yrs...

I don't think I've ever won a deadlock on Chaos. You need have ultra fast broken thumbs in order to win them >_>. But it doesn't really matter. Even if I lose, I can just use Support Attack to get out of trouble (or in best case, enemy officers just stand still after deadlock aloowing me to attack them instead... weird, huh?) One problem I see with the Vs. Tag Team/Elimination mode is juggling. Many characters actually have infinite juggle combos which don't allow another player to escape from them with a somersault. My friend didn't really like it when I juggled him to death many times with Wukong. Then, we just did a rule that you're not allowed to use them. They're just so unfair... at least in the hands of a veteran player. Edited by LoW, Thu Nov 13, 2008 10:25 am.
