Deadlocks arent that hard, not even on chaos when you know how to tap the button, dont tap it holding your hand like you play, you cant do it fast enough then and will only hurt yourself. Put your pointing finger and thumb together, hold them on the button sideways and just shake your hand like tremoring your muscle in your arm, (not shaking) dont know how else to describe it, its a method few people seem to use but it is by far the best. Like in final fantasy 8, boosting your Gfs ive always boosted them to max way before their CGI ended. Same goes for other buttonbash systems or games , when you perfect this method youll see its all alot easier than before.

I believe there are videos of this method on youtube, i once had one on it but i took it off cause my Yt is only about my music now. But ive once seen someone elses vid demonstrating this method. Im not really sure but i think the vids name was 'fastest controller boost' or something like it.

Does anyone also think the Chaos mode in this is.. a lot easier than WO1? I mean the damage enemy dealt. Or is it because of the Defense skill? I believe its the same isn't it?

Anyway, one quick question if you guys don't mind.
Would it affect the prof. gained if I were to play in Chaos mode as compared to Easy mode?
I mean is the income the same?

I definitely think Chaos mode is a lot easier than it was in WO1...it's just beyond easy at times, even without Almighty. -_-

As for the proficiency question...I'm pretty sure you earn the same amount no matter which difficulty level you're playing on. :)

Chaos mode is easier and I know that the higher Proficiency your character has, the less damage he/she recevies from enemy attacks. Not sure though how much it affects your attack strength though  In WO, I know the Proficiency only affected R1 specials.

Proficiency earning is always the same, regardless of difficulty (as Spike said):

5 officers = 500 peons = 1 Proficiency Point

OMFB! 500 peons? Gosh gosh.
Very well then, time for me to level up prof. soon enough. Just to double check once more; Wu4 has the most officers, correct?

No, Wei - 8 does (over 30 officers). A couple of stages (mostly 8 stages) have more enemy officers but it's faster doing Wu-4.

I guess it just shows the price you pay for having too many characters, when one of the most iconic crossover matchup characters (Tadakatsu) is seemingly left out of the storyline with no way to account for how he got there or what he was doing.

I mentioned in the character comparison topic that Tadakatsu really got messed up during this whole "warped time and space" deal. Like, he couldn't think of anything better to do than to guard an altar.

In WO2, he is there to send his daughter off to battle alongside Zhang Fei. I don't recall him doing much else in the story. Maybe that explains why KOEI put him in 2 Dream stages ...
So I just started playing this game (even though I purchased it about a day or two after its North American release).

I played Warriors Orochi 2 for about 30 minutes or so after I got it (Samurai storyline) and admittedly it felt kind of sluggish and I was wondering to myself why I got the game. I thoroughly enjoyed Warriors Orochi but for some reason, it didn't feel the same.

Days and weeks passed and I just found myself playing huge releases like Gears of War 2 and some other games that I didn't get a chance to play as I recently just got an Xbox 360 (Mass Effect, Ninja Gaiden II, et al).

Anyway, I decided to pop Warriors Orochi 2 into my 360 over the weekend and I am so hooked --- even more so than the first installment :D. The new characters are a blast to play and Nu Wa is quite enjoyable to look at

Regarding the posted I quoted from Mr. Honda, I have to agree with his sentiment. It's a shame that Koei didn't have a bigger role for Tadakatsu in both Warriors Orochi and Warriors Orochi 2.

Gameplay-wise, Tadakatsu was a beast in Warriors Orochi and he still appears to be every bit as formidable as before in this installment. To those who say otherwise, you really just have to equip the right attributes to his weapon and abuse his R1 (Right Bumper) ability.

I've finished all the storylines and now I'm going to go hunting for weapons, max everyone out and play around with combo possibilities.

I had no clue at all that this game was out until I saw it listed under Black Friday sales. I didn't like the last game so much, but all the new characters makes it tempting.

Its the first time when I've been really pleased with all the new additions. Never before has this happened to me. All their voices are of great, too. Sun Wukong would happen to be my fave newcomer.

Below are details of what you would expect...
Spoiler: click to toggle

These are just some portions that will see that it's worth the price, especially if your a hardcore Warrior fan. Also please check out the review section.

Which version have you tried? I looked around briefly for reviews to see any significant changes(not sure why I bothered. As a DW fan, I knew what to expect:P), but I came upon one article that mentioned massive slowdowns with coop when playing the Xbox 360 version. Is it as constant as they make it out to be? Is it safer to buy the game for the PS2 and play it on my wife's PS3?

Yeah, for the hardcore Warriors fans, I say that this is a must buy.

I remember all the buzz, cheering, delight, whooping and squealing when the first WO was announced. Good times...

Hm. I consider myself a very big fan, but I have to admit that it's beginning to wear down on me after so many titles. Dynasty Warriors 6 was okay, as was Gundam Musou, but I wasn't really feeling the first Warriors Orochi as much. On the other hand, two Musou fans in the household might just be enough to warrant a purchase.

Just that was the case in certain stages - I believe Chi Bi and Wu Zhang Plains. Though this was fixed in a patch that was released a short time after. You have nothing to worry about now.

I have the PS2 version and there's zilch wrong either.

Ah, excellent news. I prefer the dualshock controller for such games, but I guess I'll consider getting it for the 360 just for the slight graphical boost.

A quick question- Do the Samurai Warriors still retain their various specialties in their moveset, such as increased number of basic hits or Saneda's various charge attacks?

All types and skills remain unchanged except for the fact some are now not as effective and some are now excellent. Still, they are all there though, so the answer would be yes.

Much appreciated. Despite spending more money than I'd have hoped for on games in the last month or two, I think I'll just sneak this in as my final game for the year.

Just an interesting fact.

Himiko and Kiyomori Taira also have quotes with Orochi X at Wei - 8 like Sun Wukong. Guess it's for all the Orochi officers.

Kiyomori Taira: Join me... in the netherworld.

Himiko: I know this was what Da Ji wanted, but I think this has to end.

i'd say that no matter what the dissenters say, that WO2 is THE KOEI game of the year. with the resounding CLUNK of DW6, and the mixed reaction to DW6:S/PS2. WO2 has all the features you expect plus the AMAZING new/returning gods characters(every last one of them has an element of genius that cannot be denied) and the SW2:XL characters(again, all brilliant). so go get it.

No matter what the dissenters say samurai warriors 1 was the Koei game of the lifetime, Wo2 has not beaten yet.

Besides Jie Ting being removed, Wan Castle, Jian Ye castle, Xia Kou, Anegawa, Tedorigawa and Kusegawa were removed as well.

In addition, the only stage from DW5XL that didn't go into WO2 was the Ten Eunuchs stage (Luo Yang).

from the wording i'll have to assume that your post was intended for me. since this is the WO2 section i was directing my comment about it's worth to the member who was still unsure of it's greatness, not at KOEI's entire catalogue. of course, you are correct:SW1 and XL are the pinnacle of KOEI's success and creativity. i think it's unlikely we'll get a game that well rounded and esthetically pleasing for a long time, if ever.

ouch. while it's possible that may yet happen, i'll believe it when i see it(me being the natural pessimist that i am).

anyhow, i've finally unlocked all the 4th's, even for characters i'm not fond of. and have equipped several with Allmighty, which i swiftly removed. no challenge there AT ALL.
