Yeah i also figured that one out when i was getting 4th weapons... I can actually do the level like it was a Normal stage and barely get hurt! |

hmm, I don't know what to think of WO2. I think I had my expectations too high. I find the storyline incredibly boring for WO2, since they're practically all the same except for Orochi's one, which I actually enjoyed (and also caused me to be impressed with Keiji Maeda as he figure out that Orochi wanted to die or whatever and no-one else did, and it also added more depth to Da Ji's character, which I appreciate). I know, it was kinda the same in WO1, but in WO2 I find it so similar (therefore incredibly boring) that I really don't feel like playing the game anymore, in fact I almost feel like trading it in. I haven't played much of the other modes, I think dream mode's pointless though, you can press random three times on free mode and get the same result, practically. I find the new ways to modify weapns confusing. Haven't tried survival or vs mode yet (I think vs mode would be good if I had someone to play it with). Another dissapointment was the new additions to the cast being mostly overrated, especially Fu Xi, Nu Wa, Taigong Wang, Wukong and Himiko. The first three's characters I find are a bit too obnoxious for me to enjoy using them. and Himiko... well didn't really learn much about her so she feels a tack-on they tried to make important. Wukong siding with the enemy just feels out of character. I don't know why, it just does. Probably because I very vaguely know the Journey to the West story or whatever it's called, but I know it enough for it to feel wrong to me. One thing I did like though was the addition of different looking enemies. That makes things a little more interesting ![]() I could be off the planet, but that's my opinion. |

lucky for me that i thought the exact opposite: i hated wo and i played it very vey little. i disliked the storis and all. in WO2 i like the stories much, even tho they were obvious.. i like dream mode and survival a lot and i think it's overall one of the best warriors games. maybe i like it that much becouse i started it expecting a not-so-good game, being it a sequel to what i consider the lamest chapter of the warriors series.. |

The story wasnt all that bad but i differ in that i didnt like the dream stages all that much - they were too Over The Top for me personally. I think i would have prefered more gaiden WO1 style stages, they were not intended as plot development of course but they at least felt relevant none the less and you could choose who ever you wished to fight in them which of course you cant do in dream mode (theyve even excluded to include the new characters in the dream modes so as such i find i rarely ever play them now) |

I agree, Sun Wukong should have worked with the mystics, I mean, there IS Kiymori and my daughter (you know who she is) on the bad side, plus Orochi X. |

Ok guys i was very insulted when i heard this but in the current Xbox 360 games magizine (or something) it has a review for Lord of The Rings: Conquest and in that review it compares it to WO2 and it really insults it alot in it by just about every aspect! and at the end it makes a little comment about DW by saying something like "After this game i might even consider playing a Dynasty Warriors game" this insulted me greatly but you know just wanted to tell yah!

Well if they are saying that then the game (LoTR) must be pretty bad..... and on the subject of Wukong, he is with Orochi more than the Heaven's forces, mainly from his philosophy/desires. In WO2, when Fu Xi ask Wukong to return to Heaven, he says no, that he would rather stay in Orochi's world becuase it is more fun. |

Sun Wukong: Yeah, you're right! This world is waaay more fun! I can add dozens and dozens of notches to Mr. Whacky! right Hideyoshi!? Hideyoshi: Well, mainly because of the food... Is LoTR a bad game anyway? |

I always viewed Wukong as a rebellious spirit, never much of a goody two shoes like the mystics. He just preferred to have fun, and of course bad guys have more fun. Thus, he joined Orochi. So for me, him being on Orochi's side fits him well. I like him with Orochi, throwing him with the mystics just wouldn't allow his character to flourish. |

This is the WO section, please go to the non-koei games section and search for such a related topic. @Johnny: I agree with you. Sun Wukong's character just likes to have fun, and he would probably feel quite limited if he was one of the mystics. I dont really see him as a evil guy, he just following along so he can have more chances to fight. |

About Wukong, add the fact that he was actually rescued by Kiyomori and now he owes him his freedom, which is why you don't see him after you kill Kiyomori. |

well, back to the "finishing the game" conversation. i have recently picked up WO2 again and after getting all the 4th's, Treasures, clearing all scenarios of the game on easy, normal, hard and the first 4 of each Chaos, i'm going to TRY to wrap the whole thing up. my main problem is that i'm not too fond of any of those six characters i have to proficency grind to unlock those couple of Drean modes....that's going to take me forever. |

Along with foomin's "finishing the game" comment ^ ... ![]() I'm still playing when I have spare time. So far, I've cleared the Orochi, Samurai, Shu & Wei stories on all difficulty levels. I left off at Wu-8 Hard and will play through the story again on Chaos using Yoshitsune, Motochika & Zhou Tai Then I'll work on clearing the Free mode stages as well using different characters to level them up. I keep collecting 4th weapons as I go, max them out and apply a couple of skills like Highflier and Teamwork. I haven't put any gamebreaking or solo run setup skills yet. Dream Mode will follow along with the ... grinding Shin Orochi? Still on track for late 2009 or early 2010 unlocking

Wouaw, you've already finished lot of stuffs in WO2, foomin & Mr.Honda ^^ Hope you'll succeed to unlock Shin Orochi/Orochi X soon, Mr.Honda with the "grinding" of Dream Stages lol ![]() I'm at the "grinding" Dream Mode too, but I haven't done all difficulties in all stories (not even all difficulties in one story) XD |

I played that same stage to get the needed proficiency, but didn't use the "Suicide Trick". Some time ago I unlocked that damn Dream Mode 27 and Orochi X at last, but the only thing I gained is that I won't touch Warriors Orochi 2 anymore for a long time >_<. That proficiency thing exhausted me, I don't think it was the best way to enhance the replay value. I unlocked Orochi X but didn't even played as him. Anyway, I'm happy that I maxed out all the Dynasty Warriors characters' level and proficiency (2730 proficiency needed/50 max proficiency for every character=over 54 characters at full proficiency=all the 48 DW characters at full proficiency *good old biased Sera XD*+Ieyasu,Nobunaga and Hideyoshi already maxed out for Dream Mode 2+other random proficiency here and there) and the weapons of many. |

That's exactly what happened to me except I haven't unlocked Dream Stage 27 and Orochi X ![]() Well... I have enough of WO2 anyway, I unlocked other 27 dream stages, all 4th weapons and all 3rd customes! Orochi X isn't worth the frustration! @pyro_bunta: I used Sun Jian Suicide trick and what I mentioned above is the only thing I get! |

I never used that method when getting proficiencies. It seem kinda pointless doing that. I did Wu 4 about 50+ times and Wei 8 20+ times to max out proficiencies just by doing the stage normally. At one point I muted my television so I didn't have to here the annoyance of repeated officer defeated quotes. After I unlocked Dream Stage 27, I rushed through the map on easy just to unlock Orochi X then I did the stage again 3 more times on Normal, Hard, and Chaos all in a row just so I can unlock the last artwork piece in the gallery since I had all the other stages in story and dream mode completed at each difficulty level. I don't even play my WO2 anymore since it kinda lost is spark sometime after having to do all that work. Orochi X is pretty much like Orochi without his moveset and having no alternate color swap costumes. |

Decided to pick this back up after a month of of getting orbs for maximization in SW2XL. But all I seem to be lacking these days is completing all Dream stages on all difficulties, and getting everyone to Proficiency 50. Luckily, most dream stages are great for grinding, so I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
