Posts: 6,832 Group: Admins Member #3,636 Joined: October 5, 2006 Gender Male	Here you basically just tell us what you've been doing lately or have been accomplishing within the game. Please try not to post often or state very minor accomplishments once-to-often, though. I've just recieved the Balmung from the Silver Sword man in the Tavern, and have finally managed to get the discount from gathering all 12 precious stones. Plus, I'm still on 4-star fame and hoping to complete all sub-quests by the end of the week. Edit : (Just in case) Please, everyone put more words than just "it's my second contract" in this topic, add just a little good description in add ^^ It'll be more interesting to read it Thanks ^^

I'm training the bows at the moment and really finding the elite bowman or longbows to be superior to the shortbows. It helps to also spend all your SP on the skill Research first, since it makes you gather points and progress faster with the selected units. Plus, spend and buy pennants all the time, especially the ones like Rage that build up your attack, it'll make you gain levels quicker and complete the tedious missions as well. Shakti gives you the last stone on your 2nd or maybe 3rd time you speak with her after she speaks with Yoshimasa, so you should know your close by then. Then after you get it, complete a single contract or retreat and then you will speak with the Merchant.

Cavalry at Dawn Posts: 388 Group: Members Member #4,439 Joined: December 6, 2006	Right now i have just finished the Joan of Arc rescue mission. I know i know, i have a ways to go, and i had the game since it came out, but ive been playing Star Wars Battle Front 2 online ever since i got the ps3, it's convinient. I had a real problem fighting for England in the battle of Orleans, but i didn't give up, and no foot troops was cutting it, so i trained horses considering the tales ive heard of how good they were lved up, and OMG the truely are the best unit type. ALL FAIL IN THE SIGHT OF CAVALRY! now im just beating everyone up and hope that at the end of it all that i'll get a huge majestic horse weapon, cuz cavalry pwns all. period.

Then after that I'll train every other unit, so lets hope that I won't get too bored because I really want to move towards 5-star fame and collect the DW/SW weapons, and do this before I purchase DW6 on the 6/7th March. Though that should be plenty of time; a month roughly in fact. I'm just getting no important battles anymore and it seems like I'll be going on forever with these skirmish missions that do little to satisfy me.

The other standard bows automatically fire so they are unable to target specific foes, like the unit leader; another reason why you should avoid using them. They also need to get close to the enemy and force you to use their defensive ability, whilst the long-distance bows can manage fine without the ability most of the time. This is what I'm doing at the moment, still archer training, but it's all fine, since I'm on 98% for the Bows and will then just use the Spears until 100% for the respective weapon rewards. I've got the Balmung sword already. After those two are done; it's time to get everything to 70%! This is going to be too tedious. Edit: I've got all three, sword, bow and spear now. Edit: Done everything, and on 5-star, except for getting the Engineers Book. The only thing left for me to do is get all units to 70-100%. I also have some DW/SW weapons finally, and Yukimura's Susanoo is still so large lol! Edit: Bested Hawkwood! You get a scene in the Tavern before he appears in battle, with him saying for you to seek him out on the battlefield. After a battle or two, Magnus appears in the Tavern announcing for him to become the greatest Mercenary by defeating him. After that, I did a contract for the English and found him in a 14 star battle. Though, I can't be sure if speaking to Magnus beforehand results in his appearance or if it was just luck.

Han's Unifier Posts: 1,131 Group: Banned Member #9,993 Joined: September 28, 2007	Well ive just gotten durandal, i slammed trough the final french mission as if i was cutting trough cheese rofl, i used units like mounted warriors and armored knights as im really a speed lover i tend to only use horse troops with hermes sandals and some deer hunting along the way hehe. And uh, well i only take french missions really since i dislike the english voices and i outright hate john chandos (although the real john chandos was somewhat of a valiant hero) he simply killed me to many times when i was new to the game grrr, so everytime i see him i smash my unit into his face and crush his smile..rawr. Thats what i have been up to lately.

You mentioned that you can find him in a low star battle. In my FAQ, I can now edit this in. I needed the proof in order to have the excuse. What I've been doing and going to continue doing, is that train my units from unit to unit to 70%, just by going down the list. I'm on the Daggers at the moment and having fun with the Ninja running knife throw. But of course since Daggers is the first listed then that doesn't mean I haven't trained any up to that high yet. I just never really bothered using them thats all. Edit: All I had to do is move one word from the FAQ, though it was important, so thanks!

Mercenary General Posts: 3,519 Group: Moderators Member #5,908 Joined: March 5, 2007 Gender Male	ok then, i cant really prove it, since ive already done it, and if i were to try and do it again, it would take a lot of time that i just dont have due to damn school <_< FINALLY, ive got word of a witch on the battlefield, and from what ive heard about her, i like it even though it does sound slightly sadistic, its awsome, since i know who it actually is and ive also been doing a few of the other missions, Naran the little s***, hes awsome, he looks a bit like aang from the avatar series, but he needs a personality adjustment, a lot like yuan shao and also there have been the aftermath of williams progression

And I found those William missions really annoying. He's certainly a character though, I guess. And if you want my opinion about Naran; I dislike him, yet why does he desire to carry around that meat for so long? It must taste really horrid, and when he talks to Magnus or someone in the Tavern; teasing them by constantly wavering it around in front of their faces. :lol: I've now got a few more units to 100% and have finished with training the Knives, since they have just risen past 70%. Though I suppose it would be hard to say that I'm going to completely stop using them since I may run out of Recruit units at one point, etc. So now I just have to continue on down the list. All I want is a cutscene or event that happens in the Tavern, so I can think about or view something new. I've heard that when you defeat Hawkwood and complete the Special Battle, that you no longer get any events at all; which is not nice to hear.

Mercenary General Posts: 3,519 Group: Moderators Member #5,908 Joined: March 5, 2007 Gender Male	Yeah, what is it with him and that one piece of meat, it must have rotted away after a while and i saw the 'witch' just recently, and then she came to the tavern, but now nothinng, i guess i just have to either wait for somethnig else to happen, or smack her around on the battlefield, and see what happens. i dont have anymore to 100%, but ie almost got the chariots to 70%, and ive also been using the units that were only at around 10%, and now i think my lowest is around 20%

Even if she does not show up try again after the next battle, etc. Do this and speak to her about 5 times over a course of 5 battles and you will get the reward by then.

You are suppose to get the discount straight after getting the stone; i.e after the next battle. I think its a 100% chance. 2. It took me ages to get the Special Battle after the discount. I just got Azai nagamasa's lance ^^ very happy with that because lancers are my fav unit hehe. Also got nobunagas sword and zhao yuns dragon spear ^^ And Yukimuras spear is in the shop atm but its expensive. I finally get English missions again :lol: ! yay. The game is picking up pace again and thats great, sometimes its not so nice that i dont gain experience when i do any mission not having red stars but ohwell. My Horse units are now level 90 and my knifes and swords units are being trained also. I didnt really like explosive units i didnt like bow units either to begin with, but man those oriental 2h units like samurai are SUPERB for real, so badass man especially in a 30 man group how they hold theyr swords and the attacking sequence and everything. I swear KOEI should make a SW "�nd" DW game like this man man man. Atm im trying to level up again cause i really want a new armor, something flashy and impenetrable looking i hope. Atm im running around in noble's cloths or so it seems. with a rusty looking Mitsuhide (from kessenIII) helmet on my head (look for pictures in the show ur character thread anyway) But it goes really slow and im forced to do red star missions and story missions are always low stars to my standard so i dont gain exp from it. hm.. i hope i get honda tadakatsu's spear soon too cause i really want that one on my horses spear unit lol my horses now have Gungir. but i play mostly with sword and lancers anyway. edit: honda's is a spear right? Cause i want to keep guan yu's blue dragon on horse halberds ;[ edit 2: just in! woah! so many rare armors/items ohmygo------!1 Seriously i got like : Einherjar suit (same as the noble but then in grey and black), Avalon plate (a "golden" paladin armor), Indra chest. (a samurai armor with huge shoulderpads in black) And for helm: sunlight hood (its literally "Uesugi kenshin's headwear) first light (a golden mitsuhide (kessenIII) helm) and i got new rare arms: Bishamonten (black demon paw gauntlets) Ill add pictures soon but im still hoping for a closed helmet of some sorts or anything that doesnt look oriental, no matter how much fun it is to have samurai armors and whatnot it kindof makes the game less 100 year war so im really hoping for some more rare stuff lol look at me being ungratefull :') I wonder if this has something to do with my rabbit paw hmm.

EDIT: ok then...i was playing this last night, because Lost Odyssey was annoying the crap out of me....damn overpowered enemies <_< and well...i found out that i actually do have the rabbits foot, and that im just not getting weapons all that much any more...oh, but i did find some that sorta confuse me on whos weapons they are...and they are: Futsunomitama - A hero in the east used this sword of the gods to unite his lands (or something like that...but the sword looks very plain) Gungnir - A legendary spear that never misses (looks a little like Jiang Wei's spear, but i dunno, just wanna be sure) oh, and also, is it also possible to get the amours of the characters also?

K if you didnt know (or maybe you do but ill post it anyway) You get the rabbits paw by selling around a mountain of paintings of any kind, so just keep selling them and selling them untill a aristocrat comes along complimenting you, he will come several times untill finally he will tell you you are a blessing to art and hes very happy you gave back the paintings to where they belong (the people) And as a prize he gives you the rabbits paw wich increases the chances on item drops and probably the rarity of chests aswell. For instance there is a mission in wich you need to protect a compound against yoshimasa, he will keep spawning on a set point so you can just rush him into the ground with your cavalry, and go a bit out of his range then back and hell respawn. Im a level 5 fame and 60% fame to level 6, i think on level 6 ill get alot more weapon and armor again. You ask i serve; Bishamonten is are so called 'demon gauntlets' and look the same as uesugi kenshin's. Sunset hood also looks exactly the same as uesugi kenshin's headwear. Im thus pretty sure that some armor pieces in the game resemble SW and maybe some DW characters. The "rare" as in yellow' armor chest pieces i have yet obtained are: Avalon (king arthurs golden chest, shown in my pics) Einherjar (rags of a blessed warrior (?) also a chestpiece that is a bit rainbowish in colors but looks like a burnoose) Im sure that there are as much rare armor parts as there are rare weapons so keep looking! and raise your fame level for even more im sure. What is your fame level atm? the higher the more items you will be able to find ey. Hope i helped a bit, greets.

Well, it looks like the next time im playing BS, all ill be doing is slaughtering high fame levels with my fusileers, who are at lv80 :lol:

I cant be arsd to stand still for to long in the game i want to take as much possible bases and kill as much possible enemy officers wich equals as much possible XP :lol: But yea on our fame levels you need to only do red star missions or you will get a 0% equaliser even if you got lots of fame so you wont 'gain' the fame, only in red star missions you get a 100% equaliser ( 1.0) Wich is kinda not so nice cause it takes very long, but i do think that the fabled city paintings help, i got like 15 of them now (i had like 30 but i sold a few cause i needed the money for a rare weapon but i wont ever sell em again, since i noticed you get more fame by the end of the stage with them)
