Oichi's english voice changed as well, it got deeper and she sounds depressed most of the time. Kinda reminds me of Oichi in Sengoku Basara. |

Single handedly? How so... It's not that bad but like Noh's story it can be harldy compared with it's SW1 counterpart. We had a better VA in SW1 IMO, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is a true legend in the profession. Even though I find the SW2 voice actor cast to be lackluster overall, there are some nice standouts. I'd like to point out though that each of the new characters had a generally alright VA: Ieyasu has a remarkable VA who seems very into character, I even preferred it to the SW1 one. The voice just embdies Ieyasu in SW. Mitsunari's VA was also quite good, I liked the dry tone that the VA gave at times and it just fit Mistunari quite well. I also liked Hideyoshi's VA, a very well done job in my opinion. I don't have a favourite between this one and the one from the original. They both suit each version of Hideyoshi quite well. Shingen's VA as well. While it may seem weird for me to have selected him I believe that the person did the job rather well, he fit the new direction that they seemed to going with Shingen well. |

Okay. In no particular order: Yukimura: Generic hero voice. No comment. Shingen: Pretty good job of making him sound funny - also did old man voice well. I like it. Kenshin: A bland voice for a bland character...I miss his old prayers before each battle, but I suppose that's not the VA's fault. I love the way this VA says "NEMESIS", though. With such loathing and hatred! In general, however, I don't like his voice... Kanetsugu: A really good VA. Fits his character perfectly. The sort of voice that sounds like it's slightly annoying, but it's unique and interesting. Mitsunari: Great, great, great VA. "Have you ever even seen your own FACE?" So dry, so sarcastic, and so...Mitsunari. Perfect. Sakon: Edgy, raspy, clever, brawny. Fits his character well. Good emotion. For example, his Sekigahara video is particularly good. "However...it won't work." Good job. Hideyoshi: His voice is quirky, but not annoying, which is a feat in itself. Not a bad job, though the Japanese VA is quite surprisingly different. Nene: A bit annoying, I don't like the constant fake voice. Fits her character, I guess. At least she has some great lines. Masamune: Pretty great voicing. I miss him saying IMBECILE!, though... Keiji: Ugh. No. Just no. Magoichi: To be honest, I can't tell much difference between this VA and his SW1 one! I think it's a pretty good Magoichi. This guy actually has emotion. Look at the Honnouji clip, for example. Good stuff here. Nobunaga: I hate it. Okay, the actual voice is okay, but I hate the interpretation of bland-flat-emotionlessness. I much prefer his SW1 voice, where he sounded dark, twisted, and evil, instead of a bloody robot. Noh: Sexy and alluring. Clearly a much better job than the SW1 VA. A great voice overall. Actually makes her character worth playing. Ranmaru: An improvement over his SW1 voice...I like it. It's voiced by a girl, yes, but it's crisp, sharp, and so very Ranmaru. Mitsuhide: Generic, but pretty good. I like the warm quality in his voice. Oichi: Responsible, determined young girly voice. Somewhat melancholy. Good stuff, actually, because of all the subtle emotions involved. Her "I love you" s actually sound genuine instead of just cheesy. Better than the whiny SW1 VA anyway. Nagamasa: Generic, but good. If someone can yell about honour every day and not sound annoying, then you just know it's a good job. Musashi: Generic. I don't really like it. Too loud/plain for my tastes. Kojiro: A great voice. Sweet in a creepy way - I love it! Not blatantly flamboyant like Zhang He either, simply...creepy. Katsuie: Generic caveman voice. Fits his character. Ieyasu: My favourite voice of all. The VA just does such a good job with him - he actually feels like a proper character. There's a great range of emotions in his voice: anger ("Kobayakawa! Why haven't he moved yet!"), fear ("Endure!"), sadness ("OH NOES MAH PEOPLE" after Mitagahara), and genuine happiness (before Sekigahara). The voice itself is deep, solid, yet with a edgy raspiness. Fits his character perfect. My vote goes to this guy. Maybe even better than the Japanese VA. Tadakatsu: Generic. I don't know if anyone remembers his SW1XL voice, but there he sounded like a retard who spoke in monosyllables: I! AM! TA! DA! KA! TSU! HON! DA! So this is a vast improvement. Ina: Generic. But not bad. Hanzo: Sadly, also generic. His voice is just too...traditionally ninja and, I think, slightly melodramatic. I preferred his more matter-of-fact pronounciation in SW1. But I guess his general design is that of a traditional ninja. Kotaro: The English VA is really good at making him sound chaotic, but I love the Japanese one. Listen to it and you'll see what I mean - he sounds completely emotionless. Check out the opening of his vid, he talks quite a bit. http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=gD3XG4my8Zk Ginchiyo: Pretty good, actually. You can really sense her pride and arrogance from her voice - "Did you expect anything LESS out of me?". Excellent all-round. Yoshihiro: Generic old man, but it fits him well. The Chestos could use a bit more work, because the Japanese ones were downright amazing: http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=GeCwXs3YZcM&feature=related. But pretty good - "Hell is where devils live, isn't it?!" Okuni: Again, a vast improvement over SW1 ("P-shaw!" "Mercy!" "Oh dear, what's a lady to do?" - she sounded so creepy back then...). The current one actually sounds sort of sexy ("Oh dear...my heart's all a flutter"). Overall, the VA for SW2 is actually remarkably good - surprisingly good, especially for a musou game! I only sometimes don't agree with character interpretations, but in general they did an amazing job. I really hope the same people return to voice SW3! In other news: Do NOT disappoint me! What an entertaining read, DeeEmm! I voted for Sakon's voice. It's close between him and Magoichi Saika. It's interesting that Magoichi has had such a consistant voice. I'm pretty sure that one of his actors played Han Solo, which is awesome! I have loved his character since I first saw him in Warriors Orochi (I played it before I got SW2) because he's just like Han, and I hope he stays that way! Sakon, though, does such an excellent job in the cutscenes and his diologue emantes genius. He has great lines and I especially like the Elvis references! Did the Japanese come up with the idea of modelling a character after the great American singer? I suppose he's really well known in Asia, too. |

I really like Erin Aqostino (Okuni, Nene) and Steve Szczepowski (Keiji Maeda, Magoichi Saika), but my favorite is Pierre Chaves(Mitsunari Ishida). |

the guy who played Yoshihiro Shimazu nailed the voice, the voice goes well with the overal character, even the appearence of Yoshihiro fits the voice, even the mustache fits. CHESTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I chose Oichi for the calmness and softness of it, but my other choice would have been Mitsunari no doubt. His voice was exceptional and it fit his look and personality perfectly. Noh's voice in Sw2 was a bit faster and slightly had more pitch too it. Her SW1 voice was best. It was low and seducing and alluring. Her voice was beautiful, but intimidating. Oh! and Okuni's SW1 voice was awful and hilarious. Much better in Sw2. Kudos to the VA for her in Sw2. Voices for Noh and Okuni in Sw1 Edited by Heavenly Snow, Aug 13 2009, 04:02 PM.

20 guesses who I picked, eh? I loved David's voice in SW2. It. Was. Spectacular. He fit the sadistic roll perfectly, tuning his voice and drawing out words when necessary. Keep in mind Keith(Kotaro's WO VA) wasn't really a BAD voice for Kotaro. He actually got it pretty close. It's just doesn't have the same touch as Rizk though. Plus, Keith was too damned quiet at times. If not for the subtitles I wouldn't know what the hell Kotaro was saying half the time. |

Though we may never see him again, I simply loved Musashi's english VA. The voice actor really got Musashi's boastfulness down pat. |

As Heavenly Snow said, I like Oichi's calmness in her voice. It fit especially since during the SW2E conversations, she would say very wise advice or lines which complemented how she had matured. Her sw1 was cute too though; loud, but cute :] Misunari's voice fit him. He's a bit snobby and his VA gave the perfect tone to set the rude, i-don't-care type of personality into the voice. Masamune's voice was nice too. I don't know why, but I just like it. Hanzo Hatori didn't have much lines except for "....die." Epic? xD lol Kunoichi's voice in sw1 was annoying with all that laughing[sorry] |
