It's because you need to complete that Target which tells you to Defeat Liu Bei, Sun Quan, Dong Zhuo and Zhang Jiao, in his last stage.

Who whould you say,has the hardest mousu to complete? For me its Zhuge Liangs. The most annoying level chang ban wei scenario.
Even if it's a trap, you have to trigger it to know what's going on.

I just beat everyone's Musou modes. The game is awesome!! I've had for a while but I've had plenty of distractions along the way. So I started out on normal and never played a Musou mode on easy. I don't know why you would unless you've never played a DW game before. I had plenty of frustrations and I had to restart Dian Wei's Chang Ban level at least two times (For some reason he was the most difficult. Gosh I miss his axe!!! Same with now mediocre Xiahou Dun.)

There are very few I haven't unlocked. I unlocked Taishi Ci after playing as Lu Bu (I have no trouble unlocking Dong Zhou.) Let's see, I haven't unlocked Zhen Ji. How do you do that? I guess I haven't thought about it. I haven't unlocked--well maybe there isn't anyone else, I'm not sure.

Crap, what am I talking about? I haven't even unlocked Ma Chao and he's my favorite character. I guess I forgot because I haven't played as all the Free Mode characters and Ma Chao's just a clone for the most part. I won't buy the PS2 game unless I have to, so please tell me I'll be able to play Ma Chao's Musou Mode on the PS3 sometime soon. Maybe in Empires? I'm really excited about his sword. I know it's a deviation, but I bet it pwns major, just like he always has!

Also, I haven't unlocked Sun Quan. I'll be somewhat annoyed If I have to get one of those impossible health targets, but then again I can just play as a stacked character. BTW, thanks for the info on Zhen Ji!

Not in Empires I doubt it. I mean, you won't be able to play his story, but you will be able to use his sword though. One of the reasons I'm wanting the game, to try him and the other DW6: Special movesets for myself.

It'd be nice if owning Empires AND DW6 would allow you to patch the new movesets to DW6, if not adding a musou. I know, Im dreaming, but it'd be nice.

Well some moves certainly are, but even then, you couldn't say that with Xu Zhu since he's picked up pace finally. Though you could with Dian Wei and Xiahou Dun.

You might be comparing to the WO series, in particular the speed type and faster gameplay? Otherwise Liu Bei, Gan Ning and others are about as fast as it gets in DW6.

I finally found a character I like with the all these new movesets, Zhou Yu. First character I was able to get into. I'm on Gan Ning now, he's ok. I kept thinking how cool these guys would be if they had their original movesets with their dw6 costume. The game still just feels like it's missing things.

I'm hooked now. I've done about 5 musous since last post. I'm enjoying it, but I still think Orochi is better.

What I wish you could do is, if you had Dynasty Warriors 6 and then Empires, they let you have a choice of them using there old weapons, I would really like to use Lu Bu with his Pike again. That would be awesome

OR see Sun Ce with his Tonfa's and Gan Ning with his huge River Sword, but I doubt something like that would happen, unless they give you that option in Dynasty Warriors 6: Xtreme Legends

Were the removed characters added in as generics, or are they just gone?
Because that wouldn't make too much sense in some stages ..

just gone. the Nanman and Xing Cai are mentioned at the end of Lu Bu's Musou, but Da Qiao, Pang De and Jiang Wei are not mentioned at all(Da Qiao is in Xiao's artwork, but that's it.) and Zuo Ci of course is not mentioned at all.

I must say that I'm really dissapointed with DW6. I LOVED dynasty warriors 5 mainly because of the challenge of getting everones 5th weapon and also there was a complete musou mode for every character. Now in DW6 first of all there is no real challenge in getting everyones best weapon, the Red hare is next to impossible to get on the 360 (PS3 there's a time glitch), they removed some of the best characters from the game (although Meng Huo does come back in DW6 empires), most of the weapon changes were for the worst ( Wei Yan- I loved his double edged sword and now he as this bell thing, same thing with Cao Pi loved his weapon in the previous DW games, Don't even get me started with LU BU he should carry the weapon that he had during the real Han Dynasty which is a Hailberg not some Bane thing, SSX now has a bow, Zhou Tai isn't really a samurai anymore, and theres many more changes I didn't like). Also, the musou modes were poorly done compared to DW5. Overall DW6 is a real dissapointment, who here agrees with me? If you don't please explain to me why.

I agree with you BodyBuilder
What was great about previous DW games was the uniqueness and simplicity
No complicated Square, Left trigger, then triangle then square twice and circle combos like in Tekken.
Also the cloning of characters was plain lazy
Although i'll give Koei credit for trying something new, to me the game was a step backwards

Yea it definitley was a step backwards. If you haven't already i would reccommend playing warriros Orochi 2 It's basically like DW5 and Samurai warriors combined. All the characters that got left out of DW6 that were in 5 are in that game, and the characters have the sa,e weapos as they did in DW5.

I don't have my copy of WO2 PS2 handy, but it does not have the DW6 costumes, correct? That's only for WO2 Xbox 360 and PSP?

As for DW6, to be honest, throughout the series, I've never been that fond of Gan Ning. I am not sure why (my favorite was Sun Ce in terms of Wu), but I just finished his musou and had a ton of fun with him. He's fast and there's something else I absolutely love about him: the jingly bells. I didn't notice them until the third or fourth musou stage. I never ever noticed them making noises in the other games (but never played as him much, either, so maybe that's why), but I like the sound for some reason.

I've had this game since it came out on next gen consoles, but still don't have everyone unlocked (never played it much and in fact, I have only one 50, Sima Yi). I do like DW5/XL better, but this one is fun to dig out for the castle sieges (getting ready to do another one, in fact, the last stage from Sima Yi's musou...as Gan Ning, lol). I don't really care for the swimming and rarely do it. I do like the cinematics that are so frequent in character's musou modes, though. :) Much better then the voice overs from 5 (though that one has more musou modes).

I still don't see how you guys don't understand WHY DW6 couldn't have 50 unique characters and either had to have clones, or cut even more.

DW5 was nothing but an expansion of the 3 games before it. It was the culmination of DW2, 3 and 4, that's like 6 years worth of development time. They just added a couple new characters each time and by the time 5 rolled around we had a lot.

But for 6 they had to do a whole new graphics/movement engine, remodel ALL the characters in HD (which is horribly time consuming), motion capture all the moves all over again, not to mention create new movesets and stages.

For them to have done all that for every single character from DW5 (and add new ones because even if we had no clones in 6, you'd all still be bitching about no new characters), AND make a unique musou mode for each, PLUS all 4th weapons/items whathaveyou, it would have taken the equivalent of the combined development times of DW3, 4 and 5. We MIGHT have gotten DW6 this year, or the next.

Be glad for what you got, they'll fix the damn thing in 7 just like they did for 3.

No, WO2 doesn't have any DW6 costumes. Just color DW4 costumes and such I think.

Koei needs to think quality over quantity.
If DW6 combined with DW5 it would be the best game ever.

While I can respect Koei for trying something new, the truth is that they were IMHO better off just implementing the DW5 movesets to DW6 while working with the renbu movesets as a side project. That way they'd have more time working with the new movesets while still using the old ones for future games until they've managed to complete all of them at least to the point where they couldn't cut any characters.

Then again, there are other factors that may have influenced the game to be what it is (rushed by Sony, redesigning characters for Next Gen.). I was pretty bummed with the character cuts and clones, but despite that it's still a decent game that I've played for hours on end. I admit that compared to other installments DW6 is lackluster (And SW3, from what is already seen, makes it even more). But judging this by its own merits, they've did a pretty good job all things considered (rushed game, first next-gen game, etc.). Special and Empires have managed to fixed the problems somewhat (Six decloned characters, Meng Huo's return w/Original MS), but they still have ways to go (I still consider Sun Ce to have a cloned moveset. He now just shares it with NPC spear users).

After playing DW6: Empires, the renbu isn't that bad when you eliminate the meter (Very annoying having to rebuild it when you have to wait during escort missions). All they need to do is connect charges to the S-string renbu levels and it could actually be awesome.

Overall, I wouldn't call DW6 a great game, but I definitely wouldn't call it a bad game. Like many have said before, I believe that this is just a starter game which will be expanded on future installments, with DW7 being the new DW3. I'm either counting on an Xtreme Legends installment of DW6 or DW7 to finish the job and/or bring back the rest of the cut characters. Either way, I rather wait two years for an awesome game than two months for a mediocre game.

I couldn't agree with you more we can see KOEI decided to step up there Game with DW6 even though it was rushed it still had the fun factor since you could do things you couldn't before like Swim, Climb and Grab enemies and duel them at times as well. :D

All i want in DW6 XL is the characters that were removed to finally make a return and the weapons to be uncloned fully changing the DW6 Series from a bad start to a great finish i don't care if this means taking over a year to do i can wait for it! :sly:

Hmm... I was thinking about the Dynasty Warriors Series yesterday I think after all this porting of DW6 they are going to start on possible XL or maybe 7 because I mean DW6 started out as something new for the DW Series and I think it will continued to be upgraded because after DW6 you got DW6 Special which decloned 6 characters then you get DW6 Empires which contained the 6 decloned characters and a new character now they are making DW6 Special for PSP which includes the 6 decloned characters and the new character... what I think will happen is in the future DW games they will keep the Renbu System but declone and add new characters now that they know what they can do so they pretty much used DW6 as a test drive to get things started for Koei on the PS3 and 360. Which will also make Samurai Warriors a Unique Game unlike how it started as a remake of Dynasty Warriors (Its even on the Wii now another Next Gen. Console so Koei has games on all the next gen systems). So when people are like I want to play with the Renbu system they will play the DW series and when people want to play with the Random (Don't know what the system that SW uses is called) Movesets they will play the SW series. Koei is learning and making some use of its company... overall that is what I was thinking about and I apologize if its not all the way clear to others!
