Matsukaze - You must buy several other high rank horses. This isn't
tricky at all, but requires some monetary investment. Matsukaze has
maxed stats.

Kanketsuba - On 71F, you must take the Supply Leader Rescue mission. To get this mission to spawn in the first place, you'll
need to have completed the Medicine Materials mission
at some point in time. On 71F, simply defeat the bandit leaders.
On 72F, defeat Saika Magoroku .then on 73F, defeat
Saika Magoichi. On 74F, defeat both Okuni and Saika magoichi. Then
on 75F, defeat Fuuma Kotarou and all of Hideyoshi's generals. On all
of these missions, you must keep your supply team captain ally alive.
Clearing this mission makes Kanketsuba available for purchase.
Kanketsuba has maxed stats, and additionally has the bonus of setting
enemies on fire.

Houshou Tsukige - On 71F, you must take the Merchant's Escort mission. Like with Kanketsuba, you must keep your ally alive
at all times. On 71F, you need to defeat the strike ninjas that attack
you. 72F is quite annoying, as the supply team captain will start
wandering around the map at random, not going for the stairs for awhile.
Escort him all the time and do not let him take too much damage. On
73F you must defeat bandit captains to unlock the doors in your way.
On 74F the supply team captain will be lost somewhere; you must find him
to proceed. Finally, on 75F you must defeat Honda Tadakatsu, Inahime,
and Tachibana Ginchiyo. Doing so makes this horse purchasable in the
shop. Houshou Tsukige has maxed power and speed, and has the additional
special ability that you cannot be knocked off him.

BODYGUARDS

Most of the bodyguards in the game come up randomly in the shop;
however, there are two unique bodyguards, Shibata Katsuie and Sasaki
Kojirou. To unlock them for hire, you must complete certain missions
in the Infinite Castle.

Shibata Katsuie - On 76F, you must take the mission "The Tragic Beauty". On that floor all you have to do is defeat Oichi. On 77F,
you must defeat Hashiba Hideyoshi within 1 minute. On 78F, you must
defeat Akechi Mitsuhide and Mori Ranmaru in 3 minutes. After that,
Oda Nobunaga appears and you must defeat him as well to continue
upstairs. On 79F, several of Azai Nagamasa's subgenerals continually
respawn; you must defeat them repeatedly until Nagamasa himself shows
up, at which point you need to defeat him to continue. Finally, on 80F
you must defeat Shibata Katsuie himself. Doing so unlocks him in
the shop. The middle three floors are quite tough and you'll have to
have quite a strong general and good AI reading skills to make it
through successfully.

Sasaki Kojirou - On 76F, you must take the mission "Promotion Test"
On that floor all you have to do is defeat 100 enemies in
five minutes. Next on 77F you must defeat 3 generals in 5 minutes. Then
on 78F you must defeat 3 generals in hyper mode in 5 minutes. On 79F
you must defeat Sasaki Kojirou in 5 minutes. Finally, on 80F you
need to defeat a hyper Miyamoto Musashi in 5 minutes. After this a
hyper Sasaki Kojirou shows up; defeat him to unlock him in the shop.
Again, the time limits make this tough, so you'll need a strong general
to succeed.

Oh man really can't wait for koei's games especially with the games on PS3 . can somebody share or help me it's too expensive ( PS3 )

I'm going back to SW2 to try to tie up any loose ends I have with it before I get SW2XL, whether it be 4th weapons, horses, maxing out certain characters, etc.

I am trying to unlock both Survival Mode horses, and I can't seem to do it. You can't buy your way into any floor above 51, and I always die on the 66th floor mission.

I am using Ginchiyo, who is my highest leveled character in the game. She's at Level 43, I'm only missing around 5 skills for her, and I have her 4th weapon. I've noticed that everytime I play that one mission (where you don't need to pay to go to it and you get 1750 gold for completing it) I always die, despite it looking easy since you get the least amount of money for it. You have to do things like killing 8 or 9 Ginchiyos, or killing Nobunaga in a room full of officers, or killing 3 officers but avoiding Tadakatsu. It's insanely hard and insanely frustrating.

What should I do? Should I pick a different mission to play? Should I max out Ginchiyo first? Should I just pick another character? A strategy is welcome, and maybe you can tell me what you did to unlock them.

I used Ginchiyo as my main character for the entirety of survival...maxing her out will greatly aid you, but I think she was in her higher forties when I did it...maybe she was maxed, don't remember. I know I had quite a few skills, too, so she probably was maxed out with the exception of having the special skills you get from Survival mode.

Anyways, against some of the stronger generals, I had to resort to using hit and run tactics at times when it got desperate, like running around with a red HP bar, stopping when my musou was full, and then triggering it just before they'd hit with a dash attack. Honestly, people knock Ginchiyo's musou, but with all the skills I had combined with her level, I'd end up killing generals rather easily with it, if they were close enough to juggle. Yea, I did fail at some points, but ultimately you'll be able to get it done. Just don't get overexcited and know your limits, blahblahblah and you'll do fine XD

...Also, there's no shame in taking simple missions just to get to the ones you really need.No need to stick your neck out too much when your goal is not to accumulate gold, but to fulfill an objective, eh?

I would max her out or play someone that is really strong that has cheap guard breaking abusable moves like Miyamoto Musashi, Sanada Yukimura, Honda Tadakatsu, or Shima Sakon.

Thanks guys.

I'm on floor 71 right now, I'm so close to unlocking the Persian Mare. But the 1st time I attempted to play this floor I died. But through the magic of re-loading it, I'm back there. I just hope I can beat the mission.

So how exactly do you unlock the Persian Mare?

I took this from gamefaqs:

Persion Mare

Requirements: Must complete the mission Transport Rescue on 71F in Survival Mode. For more information on this mission, including an in depth walkthrough of the mission, check the Survival Mode section.

Samurai Warriors 2: FAQ/Walkthrough by Rampidzier

----------------
Transport Rescue
----------------

Floor:  71F
Fee:  2250
Reward:  5400

Notes:  You must first complete the "Medicine Hunt" regular mission before this mission will be available.  This mission will make the mount Persian Mare available for purchase from the shop.

Mission:  There's a supply captain trapped in the castle.  He has an item that will help make the horses at the shop stronger.

Completion Method:

This mission is the same as the regular mission Transport Rescue in terms of what you must do on each floor.  However, the description for this Transport Rescue is different from the regular mission Transport Rescue. On the first floor, you will need to rescue the Supply Captain, who is being attacked by four Raiders.  When you save the Supply Captain, you will find out his treasure was stolen.

On the second floor, you will need to fight your way towards Magoroku Saika. Defeat Magoroku Saika to unlock the stairs. On the third floor, the floor is filled with Raiders and Vagabonds.  You will again need to fight your way to a Saika.  This time, it's Magoichi Saika. Defeat Magoichi to move on.

On the fourth floor, you have to fight off Vagabonds and Miscreants to get to Okuni.  When you defeat her the first time, she will just come back again a second time, even more determined.  After the second time she is defeated, she will appear once again, this time with Magoichi Saika.

On the fifth floor, you will need to defeat Kotaro Fuma to move on.  Once Kotaro is defeated, Hideyoshi Toyotomi decides he wants to get into the action.  Hideyoshi will show up with his loyal officers Nene, Sakon Shima, and Mitsunari Ishida.  Also, they will all charge the Supply Captain, so this will more than likely be a four on one battle.  Defeat all four generals to complete the stage.

What Mr.Honda said.

And my suggestion is use Musashi. His LVL3 musou, special skill, and overall technique just run through Survival Mode quicker than anyone else.

I'll go ahead and second that ... I used Musashi for everything in Survival mode. His double guard-breaking C1 comes in handy in the higher floors against tougher opponents who NEVER STOP BLOCKING

Sorry, old memories creeping back up. <_<

EDIT: Requirements for Moon Child:
Samurai Warriors 2: FAQ/Walkthrough by Rampidzier

-------------------
Shopkeeper's Escort
-------------------

Floor:  71F
Fee:  1350
Reward:  4950

Notes:  This mission will make the mount Moon Child available for purchase from the shop.

Mission:  I must locate a very important horse of mine.  Will anyone protect me?

Completion Method:

On the first floor, there will be no enemies until you reach a certain point. Then the Supply Captain will begin to taunt his enemies, which will cause a bunch of Miscreants to appear.  You will need to defeat all the Miscreants.

On the second floor, the Supply Captain will start moving around at random. He will stop at various places.  When he stops, you need to find some Musou Wine to get him to keep going.  You can get Musou Wine by either finding it in a container or defeating enemies.

On the third floor, you will face off with four Raiders.  The Supply Captain will run away, which is basically a good thing.  You don't have to worry about him dying now.  When you defeat the four Raiders, the gates in that room will open.

On the fourth floor, the Supply Captain will be fighting off with a Marauder. Go to where the Marauder is and defeat him.  Then make your way to the staircase.

On the fifth floor, you will get stopped by Ginchiyo Tachibana, Ina, and Tadakatsu Honda.  You will have to defeat these three generals.  Of course, you should focus on getting rid of Tadakatsu first, as he's the biggest pain. When you defeat all three enemies, you can purchase the special horse from the shop.

Musashi as everyone else has said is the best pick by far.

Here is my strat for getting the persian mare, I havn't gotten the moon child yet because I simply don't care about that horse. I rarely fall off my horse anyway, but I may do it simply to complete the rare set.

Only floor anyone should have problems with is the last floor. Biggest mistake people make is abandoning the Supply Captain and going straight for Kotaro and then the Supply Captain gets raped hardcore by Hideyoshi, Nene, Sakon, and Mitsunari. What I did was: Use Musashi's lvl 3 special, but dont hold down O, just run around and kill every soldier around. The Supply Captain will follow you if there are no enemy soldiers nearby. Keep killing every soldier with Musashi's lvl 3 special in combo with his special recharge. Leave the Supply Captain a distance away from Kotaro, but still in sight. Beat Kotaro then get near the Supply Captain.
Hideyoshi and posse will then come. Make sure you attack each of them atleast once so they focus on you. Use Musashi's special and then when they are on the ground stand by them and recharge, this will deal damage to them and keep them on the ground. Then once they get up, special again. Vicious cycle that will render you and the Cappy untouched.

I used Masamune Date, who was close to being maxed out, had all the Skills.

His Ice Element was a great way of stopping enemy generals, and the extra damage, combined with his 4th Weapon, made it a breeze to get through floors. Besides, his Musou could save you from being hit from any direction, too.
