Close, more like the resurrected version. I guess you could call the more advanced form "evolved"
Seeing Shin Orochi makes me all the more hopeful the translated title ISN'T "Rebirth of the Demon King" as NO ONE is getting "rebirthed." No birthing! Orochi "comes back to life" with some armor peeled off and a new hair-do.
Three cheers for Serenity's great help The wallpapers, screenshots, and info... "You are a true hero of the MO:MS" *bows* |

Serenity...amazing. That's all I can say. You actually had the patience to unlock him!? Impressive...really impressive. Can I ask you for any tips, like what you did to speed up the process of getting the characters to 30 proficiency and what not? Please enlighten me, I would be so honored. T_T |

For leveling proficiency, I always tend to go after stages where there's lots of generals (Wu-4 or any of the final stages, for example) since killing generals to level proficiency is much faster than say, killing hordes and hordes of peons. Shin Orochi however isn't that much different from Orochi, despite being ridiculously cheap with his R1 in all modes. So unless you really want a broken character that's slightly different then I don't think it's worth all the unnecessary hassle of unlocking him. |

I...see. Thanks, then. I wonder how long it takes to do in total. Do you have an estimate of how long it took you? Also, yeah, that's true that he's not different, but I guess I would like to have him for completion's sake. |

For me it took roughly a week and a half of constant play, although I did receive a lot of the required things on accident (e.g. treasures and Dramatic stages). Realistically I would say two to three weeks of gameplay (where each day would be about half game time) should be a sufficient amount of time to unlock him. You might get drastically dreary of it quickly though. To me it's not really any worse than the constant grinding I do in MMORPGS. |

I just hope that in each team for dramatic mode, the would be someone I know how to use so i won't get fed up unlocking Shino... Oh and I'm currently making a Shin Orochi sig O__O...even with limited resources. (Don't mind me if I call Shin Orochi ShinO or Shino right? I just like it) |

I just noticed there are some background images of him on the story briefings on the final stages of several stories. I'll try to snap some screenshots of those. EDIT - Here they are:

As far as good stages for leveling up the Attack Proficiency, either Wu Stage 4 or any last stages will work however I have noticed that in Wei Stage 8 there are actually far more generals then any other stage in the game due to the heavy reinforcements that Shin Orochi calls out. On Wei Stage 8, there are 25 enemy generals to begin with. Shin Orochi's reinforcements later has 11 more generals including Himiko. Basically if your able to destroy all 36 generals on that stage, The Attack Proficiency with just using one character will level that character up at 8 1/2. Basically if you repeat the last Wei stage at least six times with just one character then he/she would reach attack proficiency Lv50. Yes this is of course tedious yet if you use the first character on the last stage and complete that run, just use your second character for the 2nd run and vice versa with the third character on your team. But yeah so far Wei Stage 8 has a lot more generals to battle then any other stages I've gone through. Then again that's what you get when you have both Cao Cao and Nobunaga teamed up for some Epic destruction.

Is Wei 8 the horribly laggy one that I found to be almost unplayable? Or was that Wu...hmm. Either way, that doesn't sound too bad I suppose. 8 and a half levels for each go...but still. I mean, I leveled 7 characters to 50, and I am so bored of the game already. >_<! |

Wu Stage 8 is the Chi Bi stage and yes that stage can get extremely laggy. Wei Stage 8 you shouldn't have any problems with lag even if there are a lot more generals on that map. I do highly recommend a fast saddle so that way you can quickly kill off the generals. The only problem doing that is the messages will end up lagging on you which I have seen happened before. Yeah I know what you mean...the best way not to get too bored is have your first character do one stage run and then have your second and third character do a stage run. I usually get the three characters up to 50 on the 18th run on Wei Stage 8 and then switch out for another three characters. That is what I plan on doing for my favorite characters and then finally get the rulers to 50 to unlock 1, 2 dramatic stages. |

Tried Wei 8, and yeah, my horsemanship skill is maxed, but actually it took me about 10 minutes to complete. I'm trying to think of the most logical way to complete this leveling quickly. Wu Stage 4 can be completed in 4 minutes, about, and you gain 5-6 levels, and also the generals have less health since it's a 3 star stage. Wei Stage 8 can be completed in 10 minutes, and you gain 8 and a half levels, but generals have more health, plus there's Shin Orochi there to fight. So...I dunno, seems that Wu 4 is the way to go, but I seriously don't like MMO's, and now I have to play one again it seems. |

That's a snapshot of him getting unlocked, something that unfortunately only happens once and that I missed snapping. If I did it I would probably get a precise moment where that text bubble didn't appear over him. Where's you find that btw, Chin? |

Here's a tactic. Before finishing the very last Dramtic mode, save right before you kill the boss. Think I'll do that. |

Someone from Taiwan got it I think. I got it from the mail submission and I hope that helps! I can't thank you enough for all those Maou Sairin screens and everything Serenity, you're our big bro here you know - a huge contribution, I'm sure it took you a lot of time to unlock all those things and thank you again for everything!! Also to Crimsondramon, Jeff and everything who were so willing to do the free rendering stuffs. Tae Seong Kim, Unknown_PC and Tetsuo9999 for the video requests and the video things. And Humble Novice, everyone (sorry it's too much I can't list them all out) - this board would be so dead if without you all, you guys are the best!!

Just had a quick question relating to unlocking Shin Orochi. I have about 14 characters at 50 proficiency now, and the rest are between 5 and 10. My question is...is the average in total higher for having the rest of the cast at 5-10, rather than at 1 for example? So if I have 14 level 50's, and the rest are 10's, let's say, then the average is higher then if I have 14 50's, and the rest are 1's, right? My math is terrible. xD |

Wheeew. I just unlocked him(finally). I played a couple stages with him. He's pretty damn strong XD I love his C4. I hope Koei doesn't make a character this annoying to unlock again D: Also its pretty amusing that you have to clear a stage with him as well as the others to unlock the wallpaper editor considering he isn't selectable in it. |

Got him too...I noticed that a lot of people don't seem to be mentioning something about him. He only has 4 charge attacks. Not like Orochi, who only has four, but can extend them farther since he's a charge type, but Shin Orochi only has 4 IN TOTAL, which is...so lazy. >_> I was really disappointed. |
