I didn't see a topic in the MO:MS board for this ...

For those who have played the game already, what are your favorite and least favorite battles/stages to play in?

For those who don't have the game yet, we can always watch the videos to get an idea of our favorites ;)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I, for one, am already loving Sengoku Stage 8 (Battle of Sekigahara) for the following reasons:

1. The BGM Decisive Battle on that map is just awesome (may be my 2nd favorite KOEI track ever)
2. It's seems as if Sekigahara is restored to SW2 glory with tons of enemies, higher difficulty, and a nice free-for-all battle in the center of the map to start B)
3. You unlock Kiyomori after completing the stage

I can't think of a least favorite yet since I am still in the WOW stage and probably won't have one until this releases stateside ;)

Serenity & Tetsuo called it the 'Heaven' stage? I have no idea, but it looks absolutely gorgeous and I am very, very excited to play it.

I don't even know anything about it.
It's just gorgeous looking.

I believe it's called Mt. Wuxing, and it's one of my favorite stages for sure. The BGM for it is FLYING KUNG FU and the song's been literally stuck in my head all morning.

I'll be uploading a gameplay video of the stage soon.

And what kinda battle is it? Who does it involve? That pic is really cool. Gives it a very dreamy feel.

Sounds good enough to me. I'd like to make an uneducated guess and claim that as my favorite.

Oh, thank you for that so much! I believe Mt Wuxing was where Taigong Wang was said to have achieved enlightenment and the like; it's also where Gods & the like are to live (so I've read). So calling it the Heaven stage makes sense.

Wuxing is also the word/phrase for the 5 Chinese elements (Five Phases).

Well, they had Koshi Castle (Hell), so another new "Heaven" stage would be fun, I personally hated Koshi Castle, too long and repetitive. By repetitive, I mean it's not one of those battles that rely on the character you chose to determine how it goes, like Sekigahara and Osaka.

Oooh ... after watching some more videos, I have to say that I'm going to like the final stages for each story.

- Wei final stage is Guan Du (a favorite of mine from WO)
- Shu final stage is Wu Zhang Plains (another WO favorite
- SW final stage is Sekigahara (as I mentioned earlier)

They all have the Decisive Battle BGM, they are 3 of my favorites from previous titles, and they are all final stages so the difficulty is going to be higher.

I'm not too fond of Wu-8 since Chi Bi suffers from lag pretty badly in this game. Also, I don't know what Orochi's final story stage is either, otherwise it might have made this list as well ^_^

The Battle at Sekigahara in SW2 was one of the best in my opinion. I loved playing it with Ina. I just stayed in the main camp with Ieyasu Tokgawa and waited till ALL the enemies came to the two of us for a battle of us 2 versus the entire enemy army. So much fun. I hope it can be like that again in WO2.

What story mode has The Battle at Mt.Wuxing (I think thats what its called) As a stage?

From what I saw in the video, it doesn't appear like it will work the same. The enemy army isn't just going to march across the battlefield once their morale goes up. However, the center of the map is going to have PLENTY of enemies to farm for KOs :ph43r:

Is the Osaka Bay stage returning? That was my favorite of the Samurai stages in WO1. I'm also hoping to see Mai Castle from DW5XL. Shi Ting is already returning as well, which I'm grateful for.

Seriously? I dunno about you but I loathed the Osaka Bay stage. Not only did it have a lousy BGM, it was boring in its concept. WO's was worse.

Isn't Wu's final stage Chi Bi? Does it still have the infamous fire attack?

Oh and crimsondramon, Osaka Castle doesn't seem to be in any of the story stages, so I guess its in Dramatic Mode only.

Noooooooooooooooooooo......how can they degrade Osaka Castle any lower! First into a babysitting battle, and now reduced to a dramatic mode stage T_____T.

I'm really gonna cry at this rate.

I like it because it kept the player on their toes. You couldn't just gung-ho attack Keiji's base, you had to assist your allies, occasionally fall back and fend off deepstrike units... The clear goal of the map was to make the player appreciate the value of teamwork, and the structure of the campaign realized that. Sure, the map ran you ragged, but this only served to showcase the variety of locales the stage had to offer, with the piers, markets, caves, the vegetation along the bay road, the large ships at dock... Having all that together in one map and still look good was no easy feat.

All the other stand-out SW stages were either too visually repetitive or already listed in the Story modes, like Odani Castle. Take Ueda Castle, for instance. The fact that it's a babysit mission cuts out half the map to explore, but what I've seen of it, once you're out of the castle it's just hill, cave, hill, cave, camp on a hill, cave, hill, cave... I got bored real quick with that one, not to mention turned around and lost a lot.

Don't feel sad, Crimsondramon. In Dramatic Mode, the stage will be harder and longer to play than a normal Story/Free Mode stages. Same as me, I like Osaka Castle too and I want there will be a big fight in there.

Anyway, Flying Kung Fu BGM is the best!!!
