Mine has to be either Yuan Shao, or anyone who can occupy all of Yang on Rotk XI. Yuan Shao, mainly he's the touch force for me when I fortify my positions with my cities. Sometimes he might be defeated by Gongsun Zan when I am lucky though either then that, in every game he puts p the best fight when fighting for whole will rule northern China. (I tend to play with Cao Cao the most so yes it can be a bit annoying fighting the Yuan's.)

Now on to whoever holds Yang on XI. Well most of the time, I assume they draft and attack my city Shou Chun. Because that's what's been happening in the last couple of days. They attack from Jian Ye, Lu Jiang, and occasionally back up from Hui Ji. IF they are successful capturing it then they are able to mobilizing a large force on the city of Sho Chun and plan and scale more battles. -- Anyway, anybody have any rivals on the game like this?

do you remember the foreign tribes from IX? they each got their own city with impossible number of troops. They would come out and attack warlords along the border and always wipe them out (like Gongsun Du)

Defeat even one of them is probably the hardest I remember from RoTK games...

Oh yes, I remember those. They're nearly impossible to defeat. You're best advantage against them is that they only old three five officers and their stats aren't at all really that great. Let me see, Nanman, Qiang, Shanyue, Wuwan, and Wo. I remember to defeat them I had to send troops from all over my land to one area, after doing so I had long drawn out fights. Of course the key was sending many rams, but they drain out of troops easily while in a siege during fighting in a castle filled with almost limitless men. Poor Gongsun Du and Liu Yu as well.

No their not like that, they have no weak attributes besides lack of officers. You do know we are talking about Rotk IX, Where they start out with Thirty Thousand Troops? (If I remember right if not three hundred thousand.) And if takes a while to organize an army to match that. Especially if you play with one single land to start off in.

If I recall correctly, they also had the maximum amount of defense, well at least the Qiang did. But they have never invaded me, I'm the one who invades them all the time.

No, I'm pretty sure they didn't. Their the same as the rest. However, all they focus on is Drafting, Drilling, Repairing, and last Battling. I have observed them well enough to know that.

Year 207, Liu Bei at Xin Ye... if I remember correctly, this is a easy one in older RoTK games, because soon after you play, a long cutscene occurs, battle of Chi Bi happens and Liu Bei lands safely at Jiang Ling with weak lords in south Jing ready to be invaded.

However, in XI, the Chi Bi cutscene is almost impossible to get, it involves an elaborate set of steps that I have yet figure out, so I'm left to defend Xin Ye against massive Wei troops pouring from every direction and no alliance with Sun Quan. It get better soon, once Sun Quan takes Jiang Xia, he will invade me too. On top of that, I cant take Xiang Yang unless I break off alliance with Liu Biao or one of his son...

I think I heard someone mentioning somewhere before that Gongsun Zan in RTK11 was quite tough.

Regarding 9's tribes. Well, it'd be much more easier if you could get into temp alliances or, request them to atack somewhere further like Chai Sang ((For Shanyue))

When they march, build forts there and transport those Officers with Catapults. Give it a one time multiple bombardments.

To decrease the relations, give them 1 Gold for a number of times and it'd become hostile.

Only reason they get 'tough' us because of their already seemed researched TP. If you look at what they get, their calvary is just 5000 TP away from ELITE. And porr Yuan Shao is forced to face an enemy who will in turn beat the snot out of him. LOL it's funny how usually on other ROTK it's the other way around. Not to mention their skill White Riders, it makes their Horsebow men much stronger then before.

Dude, send a unit with Illusion and they're done. You can take like 100,000 each time you do an Illusion. Although I focus more on taking the city defence down, do so and you get the troops in the city.

And it's three hundred thousands.

I would say the hardest force is Cao Cao in RoTK 10 (History of Heroes or whatever the one where everyone is alive is called). Anyway, he starts off with the Qing elite and those are the best early game units, so he always takes the Central Plains with ease and is a real pain to beat. I tried resisting him with a maxed out character (all skills and stats 100) by joining Liu Dai (the first guy he always takes out), but no matter what I always lose and Liu Dai's force is defeated.

Koei's love for Cao Cao becomes apprant when playing this scenarios, especially when Cao Cao gets around 3 qing elite units and other forces like Liu Bei get like one marksmen unit. Total favoritism.

I'll make a list for ROTKXI

Yellow Turban Rebellion: He Jin, Sun Jian, Gongsun Zan.
Dong Zhuo Scenario: Dong Zhuo, Sun Jian.
Rival Warlords: Cao Cao, Sun Ce, Yuan Shao
Guan Du: Cao Cao, Sun Ce, Yuan Shao
Liu Bei's Flight (whatever it is called): Cao Cao, Liu Zhang, Sun Quan.
Liu Bei in Shu: Cao Cao, Liu Zhang (I say this because Liu Zhang manages to get a hold on many areas and in some of my games defeat Liu Bei)
Nanman Rebellion: Cao Pi
Rise of Heroes: Cao Cao, Sima Yi, Lu Bu, Liu Bei, Sun Jian...

Atleast, this is my opinion...

Wei in the later scenarios, the AI itself is retarded, so makes 'winning' not a big deal, but it takes a hell of a long time due to Wei having superior numbers. Specially if you're playing a tiny force. :O

ROTK 10 boy I was in Liu Bei forces and was attack two time by Cao Cao but still was around ... but then came Yuan Shao in that whatever it was call ... ok so his(Yuan) number was small so yeah I move too Xiao Pei(Where Xiahou Dun was at in my gameplay) and battle him ... well long story short my unit died out well I was fighting Xiahou Yuan then it skip the battle then Cao Cao only had one land and so do Liu Bei(Keep in mind he lost Xiao Pei then Cao Cao attack the 2nd time in my gameplay) so the true winner of Guan Du is ... Yuan Shao ... yeah don't mess with him his small number take you look like a joke really >_>
