Wu, it had some of my big favorites right at the start. At the second level, I had a huge decision to make :/ Because I wanted to add Yoshitsune really bad, but i didnt know who to replace him with. Zhou Tai, Ranmaru, and Motochika are all favorites of mine. But I ended up saying goodbye to Motochika :(

But it was a great story, because Yoshitsune is awesome. Also Ma Chao is in it, even though briefly <_< again.

all are good however i enjoyed samurai story the most. it really explained a lot in how it continued from the last game and how Sakon gathered the army to fight orochi again..

After playing all the stories, I must say it is tough for me to decide on which one I enjoyed most. They all seemed to include different important pieces to the overall story, that seemed much more put together than the first game.

Though, I'll be the first to admit I didn't really look for any plot holes between the two games. I forgot most of WO story by the time I started this game, and its taken so long to get through the stories in this game that I have had trouble remembering details about them :/

If I had to choose though, Samurai would probably get my vote. Sakon as the main = WIN and Nobunaga's "frequent flyer entrance" to one of the cutscenes was epic.

Hard to decide between the four story modes (excluding Orochi).
I can easily say Orochi was the worst by far, I felt really lonely playing the story.
The last stage of Orochi was depressing and I hated how Orochi was ending the world.
The other four had well balanced rosters, and great stages/story.
Music wise Wei had the best soundtrack(s), but roster wise I would have to say Shu (Zhao Yun) followed by Samurai (Musashi).

I think I am going to say Samurai (Sengoku). I really liked how Sakon Shima got the spotlight once for awhile and the whole idea of gathering everyone to beat down Orochi was a good story for me x3 I also liked the "Masamune recruitting" - part in this story mode the best of the bunch. Nice cutscene, nice lines. Stages were also to my liking. Only weird thing was the very first mission, poor Zhang Jiao seems to have an amnesia forgetting Fu Xi like that..

Other stories were the basic bread and butter storylines of KOEI. Nothing flashy, but good nevertheless.

Wu gets extra notice for Lu Bu who wants to reach the moon (Cutscene, I know, just joking), made me laugh very bad xD

Orochi`s

Notice for the first stages. it happened BEFORE the first game

Masumene Date & Keiji Maeda wondering who is Orochi is a proof.

Only 1 leader got killed in it. All other became prisoners or part of Orochi`s Army

And WO2 Orochi`s story is prequel to WO`s Wu Story and, in Wei Story, the dissapearance of Cao Cao (who reappears later)

- The whole Orochi story line is a prequel to the WO1. Reads so in the box, and manual. The end of Orochi chapter was the state things were at when WO1 started.

- That "1 leader" didn't die. Do take a notice at the cutscene his hand twitches.. ~

- Not everyone became prisoners or part of his army. All three kingdoms leaders were captured though, scattering their forces very badly and the remaining forces weren't led properly by anyone. And yes, many three kingdoms officers were forced to work for Orochi (Wu and Wei gets most spotlight). Many Sengoku leaders survived Orochi's capturing as well and thus got many three kingdoms officers working on their side as well.

If you haven't, I suggest playing WO1 and many things clear ^^

Sorry for offtopic ~

I actually liked Orochi's story.
1. Keiji's old personality resurfaced. He wasn't Bleah! I'm crazzzyyyy! for once.
2. The scene with Gan Ning and Zhang Liao at He Fei was f'ing sweet.
3. The cutscene with Dian Wei and Cao Cao was actually pretty good.
4. Fighting Shingen and Kenshin at the same time is always fun.
5. The Nanman showing up as reinforcements at Cheng Du was kinda cool as well.

I agree with OP but not for the same reason.
I think weis side finally showed the splendor of caocao, ofcourse in all fiction but still.
Wu was more focussed on yoshitsune vs lubu/kiyomori..
Shu more focussed on babysitting taigong wang, and samurai was okay, making sakon more interesting.

I think caocaos' mousou also opened up the game alot more to a 3rd warriors title of the orochi/mystic series as he proved to be a premonition of concern to the gods according to nuwa. And what nuwa said about orochi 'wasnt that what you wanted' made me think about orochis nature, i think he didnt want to destroy the world but make the world fight for its own right, show the gods they earned their place. I think that the gods wont let the human world just be godless but orochi made sure the humans will be prepared. And all that came out from weis story, very little of that was shown in the other story modes wich is why i think wei was indeed the best, and i definately enjoyed it most.

My vote goes to Shu, mostly because it is vastly improved over their scenario in WO1. And, come on, Tadakatsu available from the first stage? Gotta like that.

I always play the Shu story mode first on my first playthrough of the game... usually start with Wei on my 2nd just because that scenario's unlocked characters tend to be more interesting.

Orochi is the best, only because not every character was already... And it had a good story... (Well geez it starts BEFORE the first game, I have to like it lol)

I kind of liked Wu.

-Sun Jian's struggle on whether to fight or not.
-Sun Ce's return!
- LU BU!!!
Sun Jian: "Lu Bu, where do you think you're going?!"
Lu Bu: *Points his halberd at the moon* "Just stay out of my way."

Ahhh, that was cool.

My first post, I am honored.

I must go with my very first kingdom I was introduced to back during Dynasty Warriors 3 - Wei. In this story the two mightiest warlords join together - Nobunaga Oda and Cao Cao and completely demolish the revived Orochi's demonic might. Not only are their no greater badasses than the two, but also the combined allies gather the other heroes of the three kingdoms to slay Orochi X.

However, I am biased because my two favorite characters are the Demon King and the Hero of Chaos, so any combination of the two gets my fancy.

My favourite:
-Orochi: Gan Ning and Zhang Liao is the best cutscene. I like it!!

-Wu: The journey kinda a bit away from taking down Orochi. I think Wu Story having struggling with Yoshitsune and fighting business against Kiyomori and Lu Bu which will betray Orochi in Yamazaki. Even in the ending, they still don't think about Orochi. They were talking about Lu Bu. That's cool.

I enjoyed Shu's for the simple fact that Liu Bei had a major role in the storyline now. I was always glad to see Sun Shang Xiang by his side which was very cute. Not only that, it was the first storyline I played in the game with them both along with Guan Yu.
Thank you Qing Long for the sexy avatar~ ❤

Wu had the best story. It involved all of Wu battling the greatest warrior of China, Lu Bu, who even fought with you at the end. Also had the Itsukushima (or however you spell it) battle ;) . Good characters and some comedy (with Okuni). Next was Wei, then Samurai, Orochi and finally Shu.

OMG  :OMG: , the agony of the Shu story. I hated Taigong Wang and the first stage sucked. And the battle of Wuhang Mountains with the worst new soundtrack, and with Xing Cai and Ina being the leaders of the stage batting Wukong  . I really, really hated Shu's story, it was the story for the fairyShu fans  .

Wei. I mean, all in all, the whole story is completely ridiculous, but I found the battles in Wei fresh and hip, if you will.
