I didn't even try beating him at Hu Lao. I just ran around him and took out Diao and Dong Zhuo. I found a guide on Gamefaqs that mentions the retreating thing, but I'm still not sure about it. I might be able to take him out without him being enraged, though. I got him under 50% health when he was enraged (think I got him to around 25%), so I stand a good chance if he's not in super uber mad mood ;-) http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/563592/24790 (that Gamefaqs guide that has the retreating stuff in it...search for CC7) |

Turns out you can get him to retreat. I tried it out of curiosity (that and my mood for that level is rock bottom, as I lost a duel right out of the gate to Zhang Liao due to the health bug where they regain all their health). Defeat or force to retreat everyone but him and Diao Chan and he'll make a run for it. I chased after him, but didn't get on Red Hare to give chase and couldn't catch him (wanted some easy parting shots, lol). Got passed level that way. Cheap way to do it, so next time I'm gonna figure out a way to take him out, because I need to pass it at least once actually beating him (might just need to get another character, as I might not be good enough with Xiahou Dun to take him out...I might fare better with Sima Yi, since he's my best character). |

I buy Dw4, XL and Empires a week ago. I just like the Empires, because it doesn't have that auto aim feature. Man, that turns me off...

I finally got Sima Yi unlocked, but before that, I got to the Chang Ban level, read the description and frowned, thinking it was going to be really hard (I've read after the fact that it is). I beat it in 3:30 with Xiahou Dun. I was running by some officer who got dismounted, so I stole his horse and rode on (I really need to look around online and find out where to get saddles, so I can at least get one to start the level mounted). Got to Zhao Yun and beat him in a duel, then went on and beat down Zhang Fei and then Liu Bei to win it all. So now I'm just playing around with Sima Yi (leveling him and another bodyguard troop). I will probably stick with Xiahou Dun to finish Wei Musou mode, though. Started with him; might as well as end with him ;-) Edited: to add "in" >_< Edited by Brass, Oct 13 2009, 03:58 AM.
