Favorite & Least Favorite Battles; From DW6 Only!

Posts: 874 Group: Members Member #12,760 Joined: January 20, 2008 Gender Male	I was pondering this question last night and I thought to myself "Hmm, this'd be a nice topic for KW." So, what is your favorite battle and your least favorite battle in DW6? My favorite is Fan Castle, Shu vs. Allied Forces. I love the way the map is designed, with the castle actually being the main focus. Not to mention, the battle is just plain good old fashioned fun. I personally prefer to play as the Allied Forces, since it's more of a challenge defending the castle gates and trying to recover from the water attack. I promised myself I'd play it as every playable character that appears in that battle. I've done it with Guan Yu, Lu Xun, & Sima Yi but I still have a bunch of characters to go. (BTW, I enjoy the Lu Bu & Sun Jian battles at Fan Castle, but not nearly as much as the main one.) My least favorite battle is Chang Ban, for 2 games in a row. Especially when you play as the Wei Forces, you can't possibly have fun with it. They rush you and the DW games are not the kind of games that you rush through. This battle is the reason I haven't played as Zhuge Liang in musou mode yet because this is his first battle. I'm just sick of it. ---------------------------- So, what are yours?

In Zhang Liao's musou (Wei side) you have to rush around alot, in Zhang Fei's (Shu) you do the same to rescue Liu Bei or the pesants. Diao Chan's Han Zhong and Guan Du are fun stages though

What is the sence of having Zhang Fei at the bridge, if you try and kill him, Liu Bei will escape. Dian Weis musou mode for this level was the worse, only time I had to upgrade a character before beating a musou mode level, and even then it was still almost impossible. The only time I kind of had fun on this level was with Liu Bei, one peasent managed to escape and then I just went around and killed everyone and Cao Cao. Favorite level would be He Fei Castle, Wu side. I just love having to overcome the speed trap and flaming towers. And I like fighting Zhang Liao on that level. I also think that Hu Lao is fun on Lu Bus side, I just dont care for the battlefield in general, so if this battle was held somewhere else like Wu Zhang or Yi ling, then it would have been awesome.

Other than that, most likely my favorites being those with favorable music such as He Fei Castle. I also don't mind the rocky Wu Zhang Plains. In fact, thinking more, most of the stages were fun due to the good-riddance of flat stages and them being more interactive now. Its just that the game needed more of them though. Now my least favorites... Chang Ban is great to play for the cutscenes, but you are just basically on the move too much. It's too much of a rush, I agree. However, that's the whole point of the level.

It has one of the best music tracks and that conveyor belt! Lu Bu's battles are very fun as well, I haven't done them all yet but the ones I have done were entertaining. I also hate Chang Ban. I generally dislike chasing battles and the fact Liu Bei moves at jet speed on the Wei side doesn't help. I don't like it on the Shu side either, those peasants die so easily. Chi Bi is another one I can't stand on either side. I find the map too big and confusing. It's even worse on the Allied side when you have to go after Cao Cao.

I can't stand it. A battle I always find really enjoyable is Hu Lao Gate and the Yellow Turban Rebellion on Dong Zhuo's or Zhang Jiao's side. Teaching those Allies a lesson is funny =]

Sergeant Posts: 19 Group: Members Member #14,177 Joined: March 22, 2008	Favourites: Yellow Turban Rebellion (used to hate it, but i love this one, dont know why though) Hu lao Gate (OMG!!, awesome, like the way you have to break down the gates and lubu's strength, makes you listen to yuan shao for once hes VERY scary) Guan du (very strategic, hard to keep up sometimes, and very fun with overwhelming numbers) Chi bi (very fun, good to swim and stuff, get frustrating when you cant find a ladder to get out of the water though, and i like how you can move the boats) Xu chang (awesome, having to break through gates,having to get into a castle, and its just..............fun!!) Worst ones: Chang ban (it isnt so much the rushing, just the refugees die too easy, spend ages keeping them safe) Hei fei (sun Jian's forces,at the moment im doing sun Jian's musou mode,so i go to the 1st base, easy, 2nd base, i either die or loads of enemies go to the main camp, thats all

Keeping the peasants alive is relatively easy...of course, you have to save each one in a certain order. Once you learn that, it's not hard. Then again...on Wei's side, it's a bit harder. It's not Zhang Fei that's the problem, it's Liu Bei after you kill all of the peasants to stop him from escaping. He turns into a beast, and kills everyone. Since Cao Cao's part of the chase, he dies as well, and, it's game over. Besides Wei side Chang Ban, none of them really frustrate me. My favorites would be pretty much any stage with a castle. I like the siege stages. I like this Yi Ling over the others, because it's day, and doesn't feel like a raid anymore. My absolute fav would be Hu Lao Gate, Lu Bu's forces. Such a wide spread battle. Of course, I think, they should have made it on a different level, one that was bigger, but, still with giant gates, with each side available to choose. Other than that, most of the stages are pretty good.

Posts: 2,736 Group: Members Member #4,229 Joined: November 17, 2006	least favorite: Yellow Turbans(mainly because you must "beat and repeat" so often) Chang Ban because of the rushing. favorites: Shi Ting(either side): LING TONG, Gan Ning, and Xiao Qiao, and it's actually pretty challenging to get all three objectives in the same try. Mt. Ding Jun(either side): it's so great to have horizontal and vertical dimensions in a KOEI game, and it has some of my favorite generals actually participating (Zhang He, Huang Zhong). and Xu Du(Diao Chan's version) just a great layout and you unlock Zhen Ji here.

Through Light, Through Darkness Posts: 1,331 Group: Moderators Member #11,841 Joined: December 12, 2007 Gender Male	My favorite is Wu Zhang Plains on both sides, whenever I play it on Shu's side on hard or above, my army got thrashed in the first 5 minutes and my attempts to rescue them were futile at best. <_< On Wei, Zhuge Liang's ambush tactic on the bases almost cause me the game, that and fighting Wei Yan while he was beserk using my Lv 50 Xiahou Dun, wasn't the best idea. My least favorite is probably Chang Ban on Wei's side, because you rush through the stage chasing down Liu Bei without actually concentrating on defeating the enemy generals, :angry: but it was pretty fun fighting Zhang Fei when he's beserk, even though I got killed by him.

Favorite Battle Hu Lao Gate, Lu Bu side: You, Diao Chan and Sir Frenchy (Zhang Liao) veruses almost everyone... twice.
	Because I CAN Mah Boy, this is what all Wu warriors strive for!

(Save yellow turban rebellion- yellow turban forces in dw4) U one man vs all six leaders. Oh and i also like wu zhang in this installment. Solid BGM and lots of enemies.

Posts: 895 Group: Members Member #14,759 Joined: April 15, 2008 Gender Male	My favouite battle without a doubt would be Fan Castle, I love everything about it and looks very unique with all the rain and the water. Its a little bit difficult to get around sometimes too which is strangely enjoyable and its got the best army battles in the game such as Wu/Wei against Shu and Lu Bu against Cao Ren. I also like it cause its Lu Meng's important battle an he beats Guan Yu which is kwl because he's supposed to be one of/the best, I like it when the underdog takes it and wins . I dislike Shi Ting in this game as its layout is just horrible, it had also lost importance in previous games and thought they were gonna do something good with it this time around, but it was just turned out annoying and very short :huh:.

Is for me no battle, is a run of time, go defeat Liu Bei and end with this battle. I dont know is there a chance of a real battle. Zhang Fei, i need high lv and good weapon to defeat him. And a mission means, not to defeat the peasants. So it not nice to play it and this with 3 of the 6 characters in story mode. Yi Ling: Why can i nothing do against this fire? And ever when i near this one base i lose Life/Hp. And why this strong Gan Ning there? I most fight like a berserker, that he not disturb me more and give me to much damage.
