I just played Katsuie on Osaka Bay in Free Mode. There were TWO Katsuie's here on Oda side. This never happened anywhere else in SW2 (barring Survival Mode), but happened in SW1 because each stage was character specific. I just joked with Divine Justice about it for a moment about how its weird hearing Katsuie "congratulate" himself with "YOU'RE NOT TOTALLY USELESS".

And "Katsuie Shibata is struggling" just popped up and I'm all like... "w.t.f oro no I'm not...owait...clone."

Does this happen on anyone else's copy? What about the Japanese version?

You can find two Katsuies from Assault on Saika and Anegawa stages (when playing for Oda) as well.

KOEI's lazyness just makes me cry, sometimes >_>.

Its also so daft that they have seperate voices. For instance he talks a bit on Anegawa and Shizugatake.

But yeah, an appauling and somewhat embarrassing mistake to make and not bother resolving.

I can't remembered exactly when this kind of thing happened to me, but it is very familiar in the back of my head.

I makes me laugh so hard and at the same time, annoy me too that they are clones.

Here is what I posted at the KOEI.com forums since this was really bothering me after playing SW2:XL (enough so to make me come back just to post this):

Quote:

I apologize in advance for the long post ...

Ok, so I have looked around various forums to see if my case is isolated or not and it appears that I am not the only one who experiences some form of the following glitch (on the PS2 version):

After obtaining a character's 5th weapon (in my case Tadakatsu), every time I obtain his 5th weapon again (after the battle when it shows up on the screen) the screen gets messed up and the game freezes.

So far, this is the only character I have repeatedly obtained a 5th weapon for, due to the simple requirements, so I can't confirm if I have this same problem with other characters.

I don't know if it has something to do with the fact that after I first obtained Tadakatsu's 5th weapon, I modified it using the Orb Synthesis. I can try repeating this with another character without modifying the first one to see if there is any difference.

My other thought was that simply having more than one 5th weapon could cause the glitch. Again, I will have to test this myself, though I have many characters with more than one 4th weapon from my SW2 gameplay and never had any glitch problems.

(I know the glitches that I am experiencing is NOT due to my PS2 since it is fairly new and I have limited time to use it).

So, I really must ask what's happening lately with the PS2 Warriors' game quality? I played well over 250 hours in SW2 and completed just about everything there is to complete in that game (minus a few MAX bodyguards) but I cannot recall ever having such a glaring glitch like this. (I am aware of numerous glitches in the JP version of SM2, but those were fixed in the US release of SW2, IIRC).

Then I got Warriors Orochi and started noticing the glitches. TBH, most of those in that game were minor and my game never froze on me during the time that I completed it. But combine them with this glitch in SW2:XL and the trend is clear: The quality of the games is decreasing.

I really hope this can be corrected because I do have my eye on Musou Orochi: Maou Sairin and am eagerly looking forward to its [eventual] US release. What appears to be one of the best Warriors' games to date, would be marred (IMO) if the game quality suffers due to major glitches like this one.

I believe SW2:XL to be a good game, but not as polished as previous PS2 Warriors' titles and I just hope that some of the quality issues can be fixed since I really don't have the budget to convert to next-gen systems where undoutbedly much more of KOEI's time/energy is spent these days.

That is all. Again, sorry for the long post :-[

Haha, no. This has been posted by various people around the forums. It's just an overlooked error that Koei made and continue to make by not checking the final product as good as they could. Mind you, this is nothing compared to how many games get released with bugs in Japan, or games that EA make. Their games always have offline/online balance issues and the common type of errors.

Thanks Astus ^_^

I'm in agreement with LDZ on that point, though I don't remember having any issues like this with the EA games I've owned  I had NFSU 2 and Madden '06 and between my nephew and I, we played them more than I can say I played SW2 (I think I completed 4-5 seasons in Madden alone). The only problems I had with them was when my original 2000-2001 edition PS2 finally crapped out on me in the middle of a multi-hour Madden playing spree. When I got my newer PS2, NFSU 2 was bought along with it and was also played to death with no issues.

My point was simply this, in all the KOEI Warriors games that I have owned/played, never once has the game locked up on me like this due to a glitch. I even tested it a few times to make sure it wasn't a freak occurence, but that yielded the same result. Now I just need to test it with other characters.

I'm really hoping that stuff like this doesn't continue because I plan on playing MO:MS longer than any of the other Warriors games when it is released stateside.

There's no glitches I experience in SW2, Maou Sairin (don't worry, nothing wrong so far!), or in fact any other Warriors Games...

It might be just your disc..or KOEI's fault
(Good to see you Honda-san!)

I came across another glitch in SW2:XL ...

Stage: Anegawa (Free Mode)

When triggering the cutscene of Nagamasa charging, instead of hearing his voice speaking, I hear various sounds when each subtitled text shows up on screen

Basically it goes like this:

- Cutscene appears, triggers random grunts, shrieks, peons retreating sounds, etc.

- As the cutscene changes and more text appears below, more random sounds instead of voices

Rofl. Yeah, that happend to me...I was like..."Uh?...This isn't my Xbox version of DW5..." (Sometimes the music would stop and characters would have the wrong voices like Da Qiao saying her "That's gotta hurt!", instead the voice said: "So, my might was not enough." This was my Xboxes problem not KOEI's but you get the point.)

I tried that Katuie thing...Tsk Tsk...

This probably isn't a glitch just maybe a small bug.

On SW2 and SW2XL when Lady No is on a horse and a cutscene goes off sometimes her claws will be backwards. And she'll even hit the people behind her. By backwards I mean the claws would face this way, / rather than this way, \.

The battle of Okezahma..whatever it's called. When Ieyasu orders a retreat after beating him, you can one shot kill Tadakatsu with any attack when he's riding towards the enemy exit. You still get experience points and he still drops an item(usually the full Hea;th/musou item). It doesn't matter if your lvl1, he will still die. It's hilarious. I suspect retreating drops his defense to 0.

And if you wanna try this out, you must enter Ieyasu's garrison from the east entrance. Not the north(south from the one where that officer is "quaking" as Oda puts it), and fight him near the wall. This will ensure that Honda wont "aggro" you.

Furthermore you must wait for Nobunaga to begin his speech about Ieyasu. Killing him before that means you will have to fight Honda in all his overpowered glory.

I like that. I've been seeing that for SW2 and WO.

I got into a deadlock with generic officer in Kanegasaski and Nobunaga got in between us and when I filled the bar I was stuck in the deadlock screen the whole battle and couldn't attack at all.

thats not a glitch tbh it happens whenever an officer is retreating from a stage - if their going there would be no point in beating them fully cause they'd more than likely get away before you can kill them xD its good for the exp value

Unsure if this is a glitch/bug but it shouldn't be intentional, On SW1 in any castle stage, Kenshin Uesugi can climb Ninja paths when only Ninjas can.

Edit: Oh and the top part of Odawara disappears, every time (probably just my version though)

I think something similar to that happened to me. Except....

Somehow, I heard the soldiers yelling/charging into battle yet Nagamasa's voice was not heard. I think it's probably my PS2 disk, I'm not so sure.

I think there is one glitch on youtube where Gracia gets K.O.'ed standing up

Now how's that possible? There isn't even any sort of climb animation in SW1. Could you explain more about that "bug"?

Only bug I really noticed or some kind of 'mess up', was that during the cutscene for Nagamasa appearing to charge at the Oda main camp in Anegawa, he has no voice. I always thought it was my disk.
