TWO: Zsword's Mod Tool Kit Here is a simple introduction on Zsword's Mod Tool Kit and so on. 1. Make your system get ready. You'd better make sure, you have installed Microsoft® .NET Framework 2.0 or higher. If you want to edit Textures, prepare a good image software such as Adobe® Photoshop (Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 is much cheapper), and install a plugin to support DDS format. Microsoft® DirectX Software Development Kit can support DDS format very well. You can also use NVIDIA® Adobe® Photoshop Plug-ins. If you want to modify 3D models, you would have a copy of Autodesk® 3DS MAX. To modify weapons, StadiumBuilder is needed. Zsword's Mod Tool Kit. Unzip/unrar Zsword's Mod Tool Kit package to your data folder "\KOEI\WARRIORS_OROCHI\data\". OROCHI_FIE.exe, OROCHI File Import and Export tool. ORCM_conv.exe, OROCHI Model converter. DDS2ORCtex.exe, DDS to OROCHI Texture converter/importer. Oif2ORCwep.exe, Oif file to OROCHI Weapon model converter, ENGLISH UI IS NOT RELEASED FOR THE MOMENT. Edit_ORCM.ms, 3DS MAXScript for ORCem format, copy it to "3ds Max 9\Scripts\Startup", then add toolbar button "Edit_ORCEM" and run the script. ModelIndex.txt, it contains model number, name and so on. (Download above tools: http://www.mediafire.com/?ymhm3auj2mz) 3. ORCM and ORCem. ORCM is original Model data. They can be exported and imported by OROCHI_FIE.exe. Well, look at the ModelIndex, you will find a number, such as Data Chip #88 Diao Chan. Using OROCHI_FIE.exe to export 88 and get a file named 88.ORCM. ORCem is OROCHI editable model file. Using ORCM_conv.exe to convert 88.ORCM to 88.ORCem. The button Edit_ORCEM can import *.ORCem file into 3DS MAX. Don't change total number of Vertices or Polygons. After your modifing in 3DS, export new model as 88.ORCem by the button. Using ORCM_conv.exe again to convert 88.ORCem (need 88.ORCM in the same folder) to 88_new.ORCM. Then OROCHI_FIE.exe will import 88_new.ORCM to the game. 4. Texture and RPGViewer. Usually, I use RPGViewer export Texture data as bmp file from the game. And save as DDS format in Photoshop. RPGViewer doesn't have an English UI. You can click the menu by the order below. 1. 文件 (File) -->1. 打开 (Open) -->3. 日韩 (Japan & Korea games) -->1. KOEI -->5. 无双系列 (Musou Series) -->3. 无双OROCHI (Musou OROCHI) First time, RV will ask you where the game installed. Then click the file name data\LINKDATA_BNS.LNK in the list, you will see nothing. Don't worry. The title of this window shows 1/2160. It means that there are 2160 data chips in LINKDATA_BNS.LNK, and the first is current. The bottom of the window shows that the first data chip is not image or not be supported format. Now, find the image No. 87, it is Diao Chan's Texture. Texture number is one less than model number. Click menu to export it. 5. 导出 (Export) 1. 当前帧 (current Frame) / 2. 当前图片 (current Picture) / 3. 全部图片 (All pictures) The different between Frame and Picture is a Picture can contain many Frames. For example, the first Picture of data\LINKDATA_ENS.LNK contains 365 Frames. So 5.1 and 5.2 can export the image which you are browsing. But 5.2 will export all Frames of the Picture. 5. Weapon modify. Look for the model number of the weapon you want. For example, Data Chip #1425 Ina's Coiled Viper. Export 1425.ORCM and convert it to 1425.ORCem. Export 1424.bmp and save as DDS format. Import the ORCem to 3DS MAX. If you want to use a new weapon such as M4 Carbine, open the M4's model file or build it manually. Then in the same workspace, import the A.ORCem which you want to replace, but don't remove the M4. Rename M4 model as ORCM-0, the name of original. Resize the texture of M4 as 512*640, save as B.bmp. (B=A-1) Add the texture to M4 Model. Export M4 Model as 3DS, MAX and ORCem format. They will be used in next steps..... I'm sorry, I must go to do something now. The post will be completed next time. SIX: Other Editors Van's OROCHI Music Extractor It can extract BGM from LINK_BGM.BDX or Voice from LINK_VODAT.BDX, then save as ogg format. It is a command line tool. I don't understand how I can change into English UI...
And also, there seems to be a bug where the modelsetting.dat file causes the orochieditor to crash after each run. I have to delete the file whenever I start it up just to run it. I can't even begin editing linkdata without it crashing. EDIT: NEVERMIND. I FIGURED IT OUT. IT WORKS GREAT!!! |

However... It's only the UI that's been ENglishfied. Although I appreciate that van put this in English even up to this point, his UI for Linkdata is still all in Chinese...
I mean, we had figured out already what all the menu items meant. It was the sub-window items that we had an extremely hard time figuring out. I don't know Chinese, and I cannot access the forum where this came from right now. If possible, can you ask VAN to translate the inner menus as well? I understand that. I figured out how to get it to run (as you can see in the screenshots). But
the linkdata area isn't Translated into English even when the language setting was changed. It's only the savedata.

I need more time to finish other things... To Yagami: No, it can not change language of the game. It just tells the editor which edition of game being modified. Edit : (Apr 29 2008, 04:10 AM) A problem... I don't know how to translate Actions. There are many slang language, and I don't know how did you name those Actions. Some conceptions were inherited from DW4H and DW5S. The modify of weapon and battlefield is difficult to be translated too. |
