KOEI Warriors Unifier Posts: 1,757 Group: Members Member #7,496 Joined: May 22, 2007	SW1 MORI RANMARU Though he hasn't changed that much in both games, I love Nodachi swords. His story was very enjoyable. Kill the betrayer, or let him survive and kill him later, which will I do? And his MS, though rather linear in SW, was powerful. His string was great with all the horizontal slices, and his Musou is still the best in the series. His 5th could have been better, sucks they gave him no attack bonus. But his lack of story in SW2 led me to fully commit to this guy... SW2 UESUGI KENSHIN Another guy who deserved a better 5th weapon in SW, and his attacks got interrupted waaay too much. But for some reason, his character, voice, and story just drew me in. And although his story gets toned down a bit in SW2, his MS got alotbetter. I was sceptical about making him Normal when I first saw that was his type, but when I leveled him up, I realized it made him a MUCHquicker attacker than before. And his 4th is one of the best, strength wise only Keiji surpasses him. That C8 is one of the most evil moves ever, and the new C9 (XL) makes him even better with access to his Bishamonten special.

He is on both covers, sure, but he is not alone on either, and not in any other real way could he be considered a cover boy except perhaps the fact he is the 1st in the Character Selection, and that means nothing. I have neglected the promotions and booklets, because I never see them Another thing I forgot to say is, his appearance is great. His SW1 appearance was awesome, and his SW2 one was as well.

Why do they even bother!!!! Posts: 2,393 Group: Members Member #9,380 Joined: August 25, 2007	Musashi Miyamoto I voted for him since I think he is the best character in SW2. His story mode was awesome and so is his move set. In my opinion he is the best all round player in SW game. There should be a little work on his musou but everything else is perfect.

1948-2009: THE GRAND SLAM DREAM LIVES ON! Posts: 6,547 Group: Members Member #1,747 Joined: April 28, 2006	Well, my list changes from SW1 - SW2 Honourable mention in SW1 Keiji Well, this was Keiji at his best. His moveset was probably one of the best due to the power it had and the range it had, and some of the elemental effects make his moveset absolutely lethal. Interesting story, but having to meet every requirement just to get to his final stage really annoyed the hell out of me. One of the greatest voices in either game. Hanzo The person who should have been SW1's cover boy (instead of Yukimura). He has a pretty fast attack speed and some decent charges as well. His musou changed depending on the weapon element, his musou was AWESOME with a fire element weapon equipped. His story was unique as opposed to the blandness of his SW2 story and the Spying in his 4th stage was a unique touch. Nobunaga (SW1's King of Kings) So many reasons to like Nobunaga. His moveset is ACTUALLY useful in SW and he still has the "Psycho Crusher" charges which make for an added bonus. His voice sent chills down my spine the first time I heard it, that and it was dripping with evil and his endings are rather interesting as well and he seeemed to get the most meaningful dialogue Extra mention goes to: Kenshin, Hideyoshi, Shingen, Tadakatsu, Magoichi (Rambo look-a-like Alt. Costume for the win), Date (just for how randomly awesome his story is) SW2 Ieyasu Well, Koei made him playable and got rid of that repulsive looking helmet that he wore in SW1, that and he grows taller and slims slightly, but is still on the fat side. Bit sceptical about his moveset being normal, but his moveset, especially his special can be very, very, very useful in a difficult situation. Possibly the most well thought story in SW2 and possibly the most accurate portrayal (as opposed to Nagamasa, Mitsunariwho was a lot meaner, Kanetsugu, emo-angsty-whiny Yukimura, Surfer/Stoner sound-a-like AKA Keiji). He also has the best voice in the game, and by best I mean "Voice that doesn't make me want to rip my ears off" Honorable mention goes to: Yoshihiro, Date (he's all grown up), Tadakatsu, Magoichi, Sakon, Shingen, Kenshin (basically all the non-annoying and/or hetero characters)

Right General Posts: 660 Group: Members Member #10,877 Joined: November 7, 2007 Gender Male	i voted for Mitsuhide Akechi because he is of the few characters that have a unique storyline in SW2 he also has i think a good moveset that can clear crowds and stuff and also his musou is alright would just need more power but he is my overall favorite character in the game.

He was a great personalty, good story line, and is just fun to play as. However, as much as I like Toshiie, his obsession with Katsuie kinda threw me off because I was expecting him to be more wild like his nephew. Both are exellent characters, though.
	If you don't wish to fight the Devil Shibata himself, than come and face me. I'll send you to hell a little more gently. ~ Toshiie

SW1 Mitsuhide- First, I loved his Japanese seiyuu so much, he's one of the reasons why I noticed Mitsuhide so much in the first place. He also had a more defined personality and motive in SW1 than in SW2, I remember squealing over how kick-ass he was despite his polite personality. Overall, decent moveset, great va/design, awesome story, and uberly pretty/handsome. <3 Nobunaga- I really hated his outfit design, but by gawd his Japanese VA played him so well I just automatically fell in love with him. I couldn't use Nobunaga very well, so I didn't really like his moveset BUT it was just his personality, really. He was the most stylish/insane video game character ever. 8D SW2 Mitsunari- What can I say, I think his moveset really sucks BUT he's got the cutest personality ever. He's so childish sometimes, I just want to pinch his cheeks. XD His design is uber awesome, and I love his Jap/English VA'ers as well. Kanetsugu- He's a freak and love/honor whore, yes, BUT that is what strangely makes him uber cute. I personally think he's hilarious, and he's so devoted to everything that he does that you can't help but like the guy. His design is awesome and both his VA's were fantastic. <3

Since back in SW1 Mitsuhide was possibly my favorite, though anyway, definetly one of the top in the list for me. Its just that for some reason I didn't enjoy him as much in SW2 which is why Yukimura received my vote due to me liking him in both main titles.

Most unique looking character i have ever seen, and he is just plain awsome, and i love strong "polearm" characters (normally play Guan Yu or Zang Fei in DW), i like being able to get the extra reach and have the strength at the same time. There are some other cool characters aswell Toshiie is pretty sweet but his voice sounds so annoying i suppose.

While I still absolutely adore Kanetsugu; there's another SW male whom I've recently come to adore - and since he gets little to no attention here.... I'm giving him some. Wrapped in a very archetypical package, I was very pleasantly surprised to learn of the sensitivity and noblity of Motochika when I first played any SW game period. His narrative is incredible; in that it takes a selfish act that appears to be accredited to selflessness, realizing that it is in fact a self-centred ideology, and then transforming that ideology into something that is truly inclusive and caring. It's also one that isn't very apparent at first; but is incredibly important as a commentary on the nature of recorded history - being inclusive and focusing on the voices of minorities whom were all but forgotten is a subject that is pertinent to this day. He's a noble, practical - but also an individual who cares about the long-term consequences of his world and his people. As a leader, he leads dispassionately but with a specific ideal in mind - and is very practical in developing plans to that ideal. He plays a wicked Shamisen, as well. His moveset was difficult to use initially, but it quickly became incredibly fun and one that involves planning - his tiny bombs in accordance with the specific way he attacks led one to play him with forethought; button mashing will not work well with him (in that way, he reminds me of Rose from Street Fighter). When I first saw his design, I was incredibly unimpressed. Incredibly. I was expecting such a typical angst-ridden J-Rocker type; that basic 'angry punk' archetype that exists within Japanese narratives. It was the most pleasant surprise I've seen in these games in a while (almost on par with my discovery of Yue Ying) to see that typically designed visual to belie a developed, noble and likable personality. So, yes. I have become completley enamoured with Motochika (and if you couldn't geuss, I love this version a bazillion times more than the Basara version). I think he's an excellent character that deals with an important theme that's often forgotten - sensitivity to all persons; and inclusivity.

Yoshimoto for Shogun!
