of course i hate Yoshimoto! he's the most hated! and i understand u Goemon hater's too! But WTF is up with Yoshimoto? He has the stupidest voice ever, he use's a exploding ball, and he wear's make up!

I voted Kotaro, simply because he sticks his nose where it doesn't belong (as in far too many non-Hojo battles). If he gets his act straightened out in the next game, then Yoshimoto, whose my second least favorite, will claim the top spot. |

Despite my love for his character, Shingen is without a doubt my least favorite male character to use. He's slow, sluggish, has terrible range, and awful weapon. His v/a and personality however are sensational. |

I agree, TheRyanHimself . But the worst for me is Ieyasu. EVERY other guy in SW2 has SOMETHING going for him to make me like him, or at the very least, not hate him. Here we go. Nobunaga - moveset is interesting; he's cool Yoshihiro - loves battle; the fact that this brazen old guy still fights is cool Kenshin - drinks all the time, but is never drunk; says "nemesis" a lot (LOL) Shingen - funny; personality and voice are great Magoichi - "lady's man" that never scores (LOL); pretty hot when his hair's down Masamune - midget with an eye-patch and guns (HA!); says" imbecile" a lot (LOL) Hideyoshi - funny; monkey puns are funny; moveset is fast and furious Tadakatsu - just cool; armor is epic; voice cracks me up Hanzo - obsessed with shadows (LOL); wields a frickin' kusarigama (awesome) Kotaro - obsessed with chaos (LOL); has stretchy arms and dreads (LOL) Musashi - wields two swords; funny; awesome moveset; pretty good voice Sakon - hot; nice moveset; sideburns!; voice and personality are cool Nagamasa - hot; decent moveset; has a great story Kanetsugu - obsessed with honor; balanced, effective moveset; cute Mitsunari - voice is awesome; sarcastic (WIN/LOVE) Yukimura - hot; moveset is pretty fun to use; has some epic quotes; voice is great Keiji - hot; hair is awesome; musou is great fun to unleash on a mass of peons Mitsuhide (a fave) - hot; voice is amazing; wields a KATANA; cool personality. Win! Ranmaru (a fave) - hot; amazing voice; sword is epic; nice personality. Win! Ieyasu isn't entertaining, fun to use, or hot - and his moveset is not my style (even though the concept behind his weapon is intriguing). Plus, his voice grates on my ear drums. Thus, he fails. |

yeah that is so true it was so annoying using him on SW2XL and the playing dead was so stupid , sure his personality was funny but the slow and weak attacks overcome it |

Well, I don't remember if I ever posted in this (checked a few pages back, didn't find anything), but my ranting in the Worst Female Character thread made me realize that I'm much too harsh on female game characters. So, time for some hatin' on the men. Oh, there's a lot there, trust me. Naoe Kanetsugu. A guy that I never, ever get tired of hating and listing the reasons why I hate him. Granted, I've come to... enjoy... playing as him in WO2, but that does nothing to redeem him. His constant rants about justice, honor and love are quite sickening and his self-righteous nature bugs the ever living crap out of me. Maybe it's because I'm a Masamune fangirl (though there are times I want to kick him too), but dear GOD, at least Masamune is more honest about his ways (ehhhh, for the most part, until his sudden epiphany in his story) and accepts it. I always love playing as Masamune, just for the sole purpose that I get to beat the ever livin' snot out of Kanetsugu, beat him like a Pinata. Instead of candy, he'll probably bleed NAGS and JUSTICE. Ugh. SHUT. UP. Ishida Mitsunari. Not as much verbal and aggressive hate towards him as I do with Kanetsugu, but here's another character that pretty much makes me want to gag. Don't care for his moveset or his lackluster, snobbish 'I'll put you down, but only to hide my own insecurities' personalities. He actually made me like Ieyasu so, so SO much more, so I guess he served his purpose. If anything, it makes me enjoy playing the Eastern Army's side at my most hated level ever, if only to tear apart his entire army and then proceed to wack away at him like a douchebag shaped pinata. Not even his 'relationship' with Hideyoshi made him likeable to me. And that's saying a lot! Also could explain why I like Nene more than I probably should and makes her ending enjoyable. Sweet justice! You deserve more than split-slobbered rice to the face, but that's enough to please me momentarily. Maeda Toshiie. Actually, believe it or not, I actually hate this guy more than Kanetsugu. Yep, Kanetsugu fans REJOICE, because I'd rather sit through one of his JUSTICE filled rants while sodomizing my beloved Masamune with the pole of HONOR, than to ever, ever, EVER play through his story again. He reminds me of... Oichi! Except even WORSE, because unlike being a woman and having little power, Toshiie had multiple chances to change the course of action. Now, I wasn't going for a 'happy ending, Katsuie lives and they're all fwiends yay', but I would have liked to have seen Toshiie... you know... GROW UP? At least Oichi admits it's her fault and accepts what she's done at the end of her story (eh, sorta? I was too busy laughing. I'm heartless.) Whereas Toshiie blames all of his troubles and HIS MISTAKES AND ACTIONS on Hideyoshi (who TAKES it? Bad, Hideyoshi... I know you're not a masochist). You know, it's hard for me to feel pity for someone who chose his path, knowing full and well that 'hey, this means turning my back on the man that raised me and accepting that the world is changing!' He chose to pursue his desires, which was to become a famous warrior or whatever the hell it was, and thought that following Hideyoshi would be the one to get him there. Then, suddenly, he wants to take everything back, when it's already too late? Geez, Toshiie, all this hype I heard about you, and THIS is the story Koei chose for you? Grow. Some. Balls. Bad stuff happens, sometimes it's your own doing. Don't throw a temper tantrum about it. Grow some balls, be a man! Beating up a monkey that you willingly chose to follow in your quest for personal glory won't develop your character. Not even a little. Now, wipe the dust off your pants, brush away those tears, and BE A MAN. (Yes, I have a lot of hate in me.) And all this hate for Yoshimoto? Oh well, guess it's bound to happen. I much preferred his story in SW1XL, though... it seemed deeper, more involving to the characters and the time period than how isolated he was in SW2XL. I dunno, am I making any sense? I loved both of his archs, too... both endings pleased me greatly. As for Goemon. Oh please, I'd rather have him every day of the week over the other three I mentioned. Hell, give him his own game... I can't vote for a popular choice to dislike so I have to vote for a popular character that most like but I hate to play as. HANZO!!! He's fast, he's a cool ninja, he has an interesting dark personality, etc. But he is weak and his range is horrible in SW, combine that with what I consider to be a weak moveset as well as a useless Musou... for as great as people make the actual character out to be as a fighter in battle he sucks. The one saving grace for him outside of SW is his absolutely brutal, broken counterattack in WO1. I've slaughtered many tough opponents in WO1 using that alone. It was seriously weakened in WO2 so he went back to being almost as useless as he was in SW. And I also find him among the easiest characters to defeat in SW, easier to kill moreso than any of the other male characters. |

Yoshimoto, he is horrible. His s string sucks and overall he doesn't really have any decent charges that won't result in him becoming a human punching bag. Also his musou is somewhat hard to control unless surrounded by enemies. |

I have to say Goemon. I like all of the characters, well I at least try to, but for me Goemon may as well be a flying gremlin who sprinkles pixie dust all over Hideyoshi. Apart from being boiled alive he plays no real part in the story. Also I think is moveset is just fussy. Saying that I would like to see Koei revamp Goemons character, update moveset, new look e.t.c., and put him in SW3. I suppose it would be a nice addition to the game

Oh, and Yoshimoto I dont know why he got back in SW3. I did not play SW1XL, so I do not know how his personality was in that game, but uh, I hate him in SWXL2 and WO2. In WO2, all he does is talk about kemari. He doesnt have a personality. He just talks about kemari. |

what's with bashing you the local neighborhood psycho -kojiro i love him as the has a really good musou and move set but i have a confilict between who i hate most 1)Yoshimoto - like most people hear just pointless and moveset is awful 2)goemon hated using him 3)Kotaro hated his weapons he just reminds of a rip off version of dhalsim from street fighter -koei could have come up with something better for his weapon -the basra version has redeemed him in my eyes but thats about it |

I voted Goemon, as I think that he was poorly portrayed in the one game he did have an appearance.  Made the Koei Goemon look like an utter idiot, his story was poor and I didn't enjoy his gameplay much either. His alternate costume was proof to me that he was only a joke to Koei. Sad to see him being added the way he was when they could have done way better with his history or put in a non-joke character instead. |

Why does everyone hate Goemon? He may be a slow character, but really makes it up in power. His weapon of choice is very nice, at least it's not a spear or sword of some sort that TOO MANY characters have. I also like his personality. He got a lot of stages in his story mode (If I remember right, he was one of the few who had 8 in total). Also, while Yoshimoto has a pretty bad moveset (in SW1XL , haven't played SW2XL), his story mode was pretty fun to play (again in SW1XL). I like almost every character in the game, expect Mitsunari and Masamune. I just simply hate Mitsunari's personality and his moveset is so awful. Ieyasu is much more cool, dunno why he gets so much hate. He uses a cool weapon and has a better moveset. So, to answer the question, I gotta say Masamune. He is just so annoying and I really, really hate his voice (especially in SW1). I could barely go through his story in SW1. Fortunately, they made his personality and story mode better in SW2. |

I'm gonna have to say Masamune for this one. (PLEASE don't flame me, Masamune fans.) To be honest, I never liked him. he was just one of those annoying characters I just wanted to jump in my TV and just strangle. I hated his SW1 voice, but I'll admit, his SW2 voice is ok. I don't like how he keeps saying "imbecile!" over NINE THOUSAAAAAAND times. Ok, it WAS cute the first time, I don't need to hear it again. Not to mention his ending was just...I don't have any words to describe it. Then again, I'm not quite fond with Goemon. He's horribly slow and his voice is terrible, but his weapon is unique, I'll give him that much. |
