My primary 'It's all fun, let's play casually' team consists of; - Yue Ying - Taigong Wang - Any one of the following (Zhuge Liang, Zhen Ji, Chousokabe Motochika, Nu Wa, Naoe Kanetsugu, Inahime, Lu Xun) ....There's not much variation there in terms of anything. I'm pretty consistent in my time-for-fun-teams. They tend to be the same as my Oh-my-killing-time-teams. |

For Wei story I used Kunoichi Nu Wa Cao Cao Shu: Taigong Wang Zuo Ci SSX Wu Yoshitsune Ginchiyo Xiao Qiao SW Sakon Guan Ping Musashi Orochi Orochi Keiji Kotaro The teams that I am using to get characters high prof/levels if 1. random char 2.Da Qiao with QIao Beauty with Almighty and highflier 3. Sun WUkong with Jingu Staff with almighty. |

I dont have a fave team as i use everyone but for a real take on all comers tag team id suggest Orochi, Yoshitsune Minamoto and Himiko. There a mix of the classes and offer.... Orochi - extreme Power and crowd clearing capabilities, he has tremendous damage attacks and is useful for every scenario that can be thrown at him. Couple that with the range his massive weapon offers and he'll be the main tank for you Yoshitsune - to me the strongest of the Technique class, every attack deals excessive damage and is fit for all scenarios. He has range attacks, close ultimate damage grapple attacks and is very quick with normal combos. Himiko - a surprise package really. Her Musuo isnt all that great but her normal attacks hurt a lot, keep enemys at a distance with the best range in the game as she doesnt do "close range" and is quick, the end of each normal attack chain even area effect all around her for extra protection. Now with her special double that potential as with more of the clay heads she fires with she covers even more area with her attacks and her charge attacks also change and become more effective with her special enables so all in all as it costs so little in musuo its a much more worthy alternative to use than her musuo attacks |

Two characters I always play, especially on Hard & Chaos: Himiko: The best for clearing out the generics, plus her R1 charge up with maxed 4th weapon, can take out at least 4-5 officers in one sitting. (Used to be Da Ji, but switched once I got Himiko) Nu Wa: Getting other chars 4th weapons: keep the alliance safe with Himiko and take out the commanding general with Nu Wa. (she's uber sexy too, that's probably one of the reasons I use her. oh lord.) 3rd in the group usually varies depending on what I'm doing (leveling up, getting 4th weapons, etc.) For fun it's usually Sun Wukong. Because riding around on his little cloud is just so fun. X3 |

My main team is Zhen Ji, Nouhime and Nu Wa. Yea all speed characters. Zhen Ji is my "go to" character. She is super fast and her jumping attack can take out 4-5 enemies, plus ice usually procs if put on a weapon. She can handle groups as well as fight one an one pretty well. Nouhime is my secondary 1on1 enemy officer character. Her C3 is deadly. Nu Wa is my last resort. |

I tried not to switch characters within story mode, at least after the third stage. My only exception I believe was ether Toshiie for Wei and Fu Xi for SW i believe Orochi story: -Orochi -Da Ji -Kotaro Fuuma Shu story: -Liu Bei -SSX -Taigong Wang Wei story: -Cao Cao -Nu Wa -Toshiie Maeda Wu story: -Yoshitsune Minamoto -Zhou Tai -Ranmaru Mori SW story: -Fu Xi -Musashi Miyamoto -Kojiro Sasaki |

I chose my teams for personal preference, rather than actual effectiveness. Then again, I'm a solo gamer- like I give a crap about Tiers and whatnot. Unless a character is REALLY bad... And as opposed to WO1, I don't have specific teams JUST yet... more of a combination of characters for whatever reason I want to throw them in there. I'm still in my experimenting stage. I feel bad to say that I don't feel the same chemistry in my teams that I did in the first game, but then again I haven't REALLY played with it. My Teams 1.) SW Team 1- Lu Meng (Speed), Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Tech), Sasaki Kojiro (Tech) Subs: Oda Nobunaga (Tech), Nene (Speed), Gan Ning (Speed) 2.) Wu Team 1- Zhu Rong (Power), Ling Tong (Speed), Minomoto Yoshitsune (Tech) Subs: Tachibana Ginchiyo (Power), Okuni (Tech) 3.) Wei Team 1- Zhang He (Speed), Azai Nagamasa (Power), Saika Magoichi (Tech) Subs: Sun Wukong (Speed), Maeda Toshiie (Power) 4.) Shu Team 1- Wei Yan (Speed), Lu Xun (Tech), Zhang Liao (Power) Subs: Himiko (Speed), Yie Ying (Tech) 5.) Orochi Team 1- Orochi (Power), Da Ji (Tech), and Date Masamune (Speed) Subs: Maeda Keiji (Power), Fuma Kotaro (Speed) A lots of people on my Sub teams and experiment lists... too many to count. |

You and I got the same idea, we really don't care about tiers, unless the character is really bad. Anyway, I don't have any personal team, and whenever I go through the story stages, I pretty much use the unique generals that normally appear in the stages. Three at maximum really only appear anyway, so I just go with that. For example in Shu stage 7, the characters that appear there are Zhao Yun, Mitsuhide and Zhang Liao. Therefore I just use them. |

My main team overall is Zhao Yun, Yukimura Sanada, and Ginchiyo Tachibana (Sometimes I'll swap any of those three out for Himiko) For Shu I use Zhao Yun, Taigong Wang, and Liu Bei For Wei I use Kunoichi, Nu Wa, and Xiahou Dun For Wu I use Ginchiyo Tachibana, Yoshitsune Minamoto, and Ranmaru Mori For SW I use Sakon Shima, Yukimura Sanada, and Fu Xi For Orochi I use Orochi, Da Ji, and Keiji Maeda |

My story mode teams: Orochi: Orochi, Keiji, Kotaro. (Da Ji and Dong Zhuo got boot) Shu: Liu Bei, Tadakatsu, Ieyasu. Wei: Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan. (Dian Wei and Zhang He got boot) Wu: Sun Quan, Sun Jian, Motochika. Samurai: Sakon, Huang Zhong, Musashi. Random teams: Team bow: Xiahou Yuan, Ina, Huang Zhong. (I damn love this) Samurai WO1 team: Nobunaga, Ma Chao, Huang Zhong (Two good horse officers, one R1 wonder, not bad) Team cheap-o-matic: Cao Ren, Sun Jian, Huang Zhong (This is so amazingly cheap team.. Sun Jian buffs Musou full, Huang blows his C1-ex and Cao Ren blows his C2/C3-ex and if something still survives it's a wonder. When Sun Jian is not usable with his Musou cheapness, Cao Ren makes still a good officer killer without ex's at all and Huang Zhong a good crowd clearer) Team triangle: Musashi, Orochi, Tadakatsu/Huang Zhong (One of the only teams I really can think of beating everything up by just pressing Triangle. Not that it's the best way of using these characters, but that's darn enough.) EDIT: Btw, I like Huang Zhong. And I use in most of my teams horse for movement so don't be surprised not seeing Wukong anywhere here. Edited by RedFoxxie, Oct 28 2008, 11:38 AM.

Speed Team Xiahou Dun - R1 spam. Nu Wa - S string almighty spam. Zhang He - C1 almighty spam. Power Team Sun Quan - Almighty tiger. Sun Ce - C4 spam. Tachibana - R1 spam. Tech Team Liu Bei - Almighty S-string attack spam. Magoichi - Combo almighty spam. Okuni - Combo almighty spam. Overall Team Sun Quan - Easy to juggle, useful R1, and a good Almighty character. Motochika - Fun to juggle around with his R1+S-strings and musou attacks. Zhou Tai - Fun to spam his C1 and R1 attacks with Almighty. |

My team always has Pang Tong (fav Warrior char and historical char) and Kunoichi (favorite SW + her broken R1). For the third team member, i always pick one of these: - Pang De: usually my third member. He's the lord of all tanks with C1 buff, great and powerful moveset and a incredibly fast R1 which i usually use on a frozen enemy or as a finisher since it's so fast - Cao Ren: i loved him in DW because of his anti-flinch ability and because his C3 is really cool (fireballs in DW4, lasers in DW5 and WO). I found it quite a drag to play with him in WO1 because of his flinch bug, but he's really powerful in WO2 (C3 upgrade + increased hitbox of his C2-ex) - Sun Wukong: the fastest WO char and he's got a solid moveset. - Yoshitsune Minamoto: i guess the lasersword won me over. Although his special sword is hard to activate, Yoshitsune's a great char and one of the better combo types IMO - Kojiro Sasaki: i don't have SW2XL (i don't have SW2 at all) so i don't know what the fuss is about his C9 loss. But i do know that Kojiro's a powerful character, and him being a Tec type makes him even better. His special is mediocre, but C3 and C4 are great moves and his life draining attack (C6 i think) helps him survive in tough conditions (Yamazaki and Chi Bi come to mind) - Nohime: when you play it right, Nohime can be pretty powerful. It's a shame that her L+R1 attack doesn't do any damage on officers anymore, but she has other tricks up her sleeves (those big sleeves  )- Gan Ning: He's always been a speed demon (musou, light weapon in DW5, speed type in WO), and that makes him tear the battlefield apart. Autofire C5 to C3, a powerful C4, C6 is elemental again, increase in hitbox on his L+R1,... - Kotaro Fuma: He's one of the better jugglers in the game, mainly because of his jump attack shuriken and fast S-string strikes. - Gracia: she's got an interesting moveset: musou replenishing C1, awesome specials and a powerful C2. - Tadakatsu Honda: he's a powerhouse with an amazing R1. - Da Ji: C4. nuff said  - Fu Xi: I always liked 2 handed swords, and Fu Xi uses it well. Powerful R1, autofire C1, C3, C4 and C5. Musou and C6 is less amazing, but he's still great - Mitsunari Ishida: altho his R1 doesn't damage officers anymore, it's still great to destroy a group. Then focus on the officer with C1, C2 or C4 if there are survivors Those are pretty much my main chars. Edited by PhoenixNega, Jan 1 2009, 12:06 PM.
