I was just searching a game about samurais and that stuff. I never played a DW or any Koei game before. Then I borrow a copy of SW2 and I become an instantly fan. The action, the history plot, the big scenarios and very cool co-op... I am from Chile on southamerica, where is very hard get a copy of these game, so I can't find a DW o SW1, but I already have the SW2 and his XL. Now I order recently WO to a store, coz' it comes to this place of the earth just a few weeks ago, and i'm very happy for discover this kind of games =) Oh, and thank to this site I can know all the news about this exiting Koei world B) PD: Sorry the bad english :ph43r: |

I heard about Samurai Warriors from someone up at GameStop when I went up there one day. I found out it was from Koei, so I automatically wanted the game. I never got the chance to play the first one, however. I played Samurai Warriors 2 all day when I got that, though. |

When I bought the game,I expected it to be something like a big battlfield, where you need to put strategies in place to gain the upper hand, and take control of the battle. I did not expect it to be a hack and slash,in which one stroke with the blade kills 5 soldiers at once.. |

I confused it with DW4:XL because the one I saw and got was SM:XL,so basically my eye caught the "Xtreme Legends" |

For me I saw it in the KOEI Official site, thought it's just a copy of DW but with some other boring character and worse story. Then I saw it in the shop, didn't find anything better to get so I got it. Impressions when playing: Really awesome game, alot better than DW. Nice story but I had to take sometime to get it since it was my first Japan history game unless you count Onimusha. Loved the gameplay even though I thought it had stronger troops, got the main idea of every character's personality. Only thing I thought about is the character's story mode being way too short and having few characters (SW2 fixed that, but got rid of the two ways story <_< ). Anyway, in general, it was even better than DW for me (Not better than DW4, but better than the DW games after it) and I ended up playing for more than 200 hours. |

I first heard about SW from DW fans. They loathed it; spat on it. Yet their apparent distaste was only a ploy used to divert our attention from SW's greatness. |

well started with DW i had to pick up SW. But i first heard of SW by seeing a gameplay footage of kunoichi's musou attack and i just thought how awesome to see new and different musou attacks
That's why i also dont like it how musou attacks become less important and mighty in newer games, like in WO
but neverming hehe

When I first heard of it I thought: AWESOME. When I first saw it I thought: BORING. When I first played it, it was boring first, cause I thought it was slower and overall, I haven´t felt the feeling I got when I Hack´n slash in DW. But then I fell in love with the missions and I got used to the gameplay. Same for Devil Kings/Sengoku Basara. I was just used to DW. Even if they are all Hack´n Slash games and play the same, they don´t play the same ......yeah that makes sense

I first saw it and played it when my friend offered to play it with me. I don't remember how we ended up actually talking about it and why he brought it over, exactly, but I know that when we started playing I had NO idea what was going on. xD I would just run around avoiding enemies and pestering my friend to find me a horse so I could ride around on it as Oichi. xD |

I knew this game was going to be similar to Dynasty Warriors even with the characters having similar traits to them in some way or another. I did enjoy the game but never really could get into completely. |

I knew it was going to be a Samurai version of DW. When I played it I didn't think it was that good. But after playing SW2 I thought to myself, "SW1 was such an awesome game..............." |

I didn't anything about the Sengoku Era, but since it was similiar style to Dynasty Warriors I thought that I might as well try it, and it was actually really fun. Made me think it was better than Dynasty Warriors |

I just spotted it at the rental place, and was like.. Samurai? That sounds cool. And picked it up, not really knowing what to expect. I'd never heard of Dynasty Warriors either, until a friend of mine saw me playing it and said they were similar. Well.. needless to say I was hooked. Edited by Itsuka, Fri Nov 20, 2009 3:11 pm.

My father bought Samurai Warriors: Xtreme Legends. He let me play it, and I knew the controls fast but not the point of the game XD. So I wound up just getting 1200 kills with Shingen at Anegawa, without knowing that there were other things to do. Mmy father had bought Dynasty Warriors 4: Xtreme Legends before, though I didn't know the games were linked. He sold it some time before he bought SWXL. Eventually, I got a hold of the point of the game and became very addicted to it. Some time after I bought Dynasty Warriors for the PSP and after that Dynasty Warriors 5. |

I first saw SW1 at a Wal-Mart. I thought it looked a bit fun, but it was not a game that really appealed to me. About 3 years later my friend gets me into Koei's Warriors series. I find a used copy of SW1 and love it! I didn't pay much attention to the storyline, but the game itself was really a blast. |

I'll be brutally honest. I first thought 'Dynasty Warriors, in Japan! LOL' However, after playing it, I really enjoyed it and still think it a far superior series (as far as progression and actual improvement goes), even today. |

I actually heard of it from WO. I was like: '...who are these guys? D:' Then I searched.Found Koei Warriors. (Thank you for that, WO.) Searched a bit, found Samurai Warriors, and I was like: '....OH.'That was the point where I only knew about it for about a year. |

I first heard of SW from my sister. She brought over her DS and PSP, which had State of War on it. I was just fine playing Mario Kart on the DS, but she kept telling me to try SoW. So I did. I first played as Oichi and thought it was pretty good. Then after playing as Okuni, I thought it was amazing. Now I am a total fan of the games and believe SW is better than DW, not that DW is actually bad. |
